Abstract

The purpose of this research to 1). know the level of student satisfaction, 2). Know the achievement of lecturer performance, 3).study the best performance of lecturers, 4). Study the aspects that need to be improved in lectures. The sample of this research was the 3rd semester students of the Chemistry Education Study Program of Unika Widya Mandira who programed analytical chemistry I. The technique of data collection used was a questionnaire. This data was analyzed descriptively quantitative. Based on the results of data analysis, 58.6% of students said they were very satisfied and 41.4% said they were satisfied with the lecturers' performance. The achievement of lecturers' performance is included in the excellent category with an average of 87%. There are eight aspects that become the best performance and five aspects that need to be improved in further lectures.

Abstract

AbstrakBimbingan belajar merupakan salah satu metode belajar dengan cara memberi bantuan berupa penjelasan materi pelajaran secara terstruktur dan perlahan kepada siswa dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajarnya. Kegiatan bimbingan belajar ini bertujuan untuk 1). mengkaji peningkatan pemahaman siswa dalam mempelajari ilmu kimia, 2). mengkaji ketuntasan dari hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah tiga siswa SMA kelas X yang tinggal di daerah Penfui – Binilaka, Kupang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah bimbingan belajar yang meliputi diskusi, penjelasan materi dan latihan soal. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Data hasil kegiatan ini dianalisis dengan 1). persamaan N-Gain untuk mengkaji peningkatan pemahaman siswa, 2). analisis deskriptif untuk mengkaji ketuntasan dari hasil belajar siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa 1). peningkatan pemahaman siswa pada setiap pertemuan tergolong tinggi yang ditunjukan dengan rata-rata nilai N-Gain adalah 0,83, 2). hasil belajar siswa tergolong tuntas yang ditunjukan dengan rata-rata ketuntasan dari hasil belajar siswa adalah 76,02%.Kata Kunci: Bimbingan belajar, kimia, hasil belajar, N-Gain, pembelajaran kimiaAbstractTutoring is a learning method that provides assistance in the form of structured and slow explanation of the subject matter to students in solving their learning difficulties. The purpose of this tutoring are to 1). examines the increase of student understanding in studing chemistry, 2). Examines the completeness of student learning outcomes. The target of this activity are  tree high school stutents class X who live in the Penfui - Binilaka. The methods used in this activity are discussion, explanation of the material and exercises. The technique of data collection used was a test. The data of this activity were analized by 1). N-Gain equation to assess the increase in student understanding, 2). descriptive analysis to assess the completeness of student learning outcomes. The analysis results showed that 1). the increase of student understanding at every meeting was high, which was indicated by the average of N-Gain value was 0.83, 2). the learning outcomes of students was complete, which was indicated by the average completeness of student learning outcomes was 76.02%.Keywords: Tutoring, chemistry, learning outcomes, N-Gain, chemistry learning

Abstract

This community service was carried out on two topiks, there are a simple chemical practicum and the socialization of the risk of Plastik waste in Soe City, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This activity aims to increase the people's understanding of the chemical science which is considered dangerous for the organism. The mistake in understanding of chemical concept causes the chemistry science is to difficult to study, even though chemistry has comprehensive  benefits in life, such as in agriculture for fertilizer production, in pharmacy to synthesis the medicine, for culinary to nutrient content estimated, in the livestock sector to make vaccines, in the marine sector to manage the marine product and for environment to overcome the environmental pollution due to the waste. This activity was initiated by the students and lecturers in the Chemical Education Study Program, of Widya Mandira Catholic University with the target being Junior High School students in the Soe city. Simple practicum is done using natural materials around in order to create an easy chemistry lesson. In addition to practicum activities, there are also has a socialization activities about the risk  of Plastik waste, because Plastik waste is an environment problem in the future.

Abstract

The increasing of Covid-19 spread is certainly a challenge for the community in incounter of COVID-19 pandemic. The implementation of health protocols and public understanding about COVID-19 must to be improved. One form of health protocol is the hand sanitizers utillization. Hand sanitizer can be bought at by various prices. The availability of natural abundance is the basis reason for innovations to be produce the hand sanitizers. Educational activities for the hand sanitizers produce made from betel leaf and aloe vera in the Liliba sub-district, of Kupang city using the video and YouTube as well as socialization to the community aims to provide information for the community to utiliize the natural ingredients to create the hand sanitizers. This is carried out to support the implementation of health protocols. The selection of video tutorial media is because the community can be widely access. In addition the other activities socializing about the hand sanitizers produce and distributing the home made hand sanitizer products. The socialization involved the Liliba sub-district Covid-19 team. The hand sanitizers that have been produced by practical students of chemistry educational study program of Widya Mandira University are then distributed to the audience of the socialization. The hand sanitizer production brochure distributed to the public as a simple way of academics contributing ideas to help the community on COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

COVID-19 merupakan penyakit yang sedanf mewabah di dunia termasuk di Indonesia. Adanya pandemic ini menyebabkan kegiatan di semua sector terganggu, sehingga upaya pencegahan penyebaran virus ini mutlah dilakukan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman pengetahuan tentang COVID-19 dan pemanfaatan tanaman herbal sebagai ramuan untuk meningkatkan imunitas tubuh. Sasaran utama dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat Kelurahan Liliba Kecamatan Oebobo-Nusa Tenggara Timur, dengan metode sosialisasi dan edukasi. Tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa tahapan persiapan dan pelaksanaan. Pada tahap persiapan TIM KKN melakukan audiensi dengan pemerintah setempat dan studi literatur. Pada tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan sosialisasi mengenai COVID-19 dan potensi tanaman herbal untuk meningkatkan imunitas tubuh serta cara pembuatannya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini dapat adalah masyarakat mendapatkan pengetahuan tambahan tentang COVID-19 serta potensi tanaman herbal yang ada disekitar dalam meningkatkan imunitas tubuh.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the manufacture of pH indicator paper by immobilizing turmeric rhizome ethanol extract on filter paper. Turmeric extract was extracted from turmeric rhizome samples with 95% medical-grade ethanol and 96% analytical grade ethanol. The ethanol extract obtained was immobilized by adsorption on filter paper. This research aimed to examine the phytochemicals of turmeric ethanol extract, the effectiveness of turmeric ethanol extract on pH solution of 1 -14, the effectiveness of turmeric paper on pH solution of 1-14, colour stability and effectiveness of turmeric paper based on storage time. Based on the research results obtained, EEK-95% and EEK-96% contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and triterpenoids, EEK-95% and EEK-96% are yellow at pH 1-7, yellow-orange at pH 7.5-7.7, pale brick red at pH 7.8-8 and brick red at pH 9-14, KIK-95% and KIK-96% are yellow at pH 1-7.5, brick red at pH 7.6-9 and dark brick red at pH 10-14, KIK-95% and KIK-96% are stable for more than 5 months and still give a good response.Keywords: curcumin; turmeric; pH indicator; indicator paper; natural indicatorABSTRAKKertas Indikator pH dengan Mengimmobilisasikan Ekstrak Etanol Rimpang Kunyit pada Kertas SaringTelah dilakukan penelitian pembuatan kertas indikator pH dengan mengimmobilisasikan ekstrak etanol rimpang kunyit pada kertas saring. Ekstrak kunyit diekstraksi dari sampel rimpang kunyit dengan pelarut etanol 95 % grade medis dan etanol 96% grade analisis. Ekstrak etanol yang diperoleh diimobilisasikan secara adsorbsi pada kertas saring. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengkaji kandungan  fitokimia ekstrak etanol kunyit, efektivitas ekstrak etanol kunyit pada larutan pH 1 -14, efektivitas kertas kunyit pada larutan pH 1-14, stabilitas warna dan efektivitas kertas kunyit berdasarkan waktu penyimpanan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh EEK-95% dan EEK-96% mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan triterpenoid, EEK-95% dan EEK-96% berwarna kuning pada pH 1-7, kuning oranye pada pH 7,5-7,7, merah bata pudar pada pH 7,8-8 dan merah bata pada pH 9-14,  KIK-95% dan KIK-96% berwarna kuning pada pH 1-7,5, merah bata pada pH 7,6-9 dan merah bata pekat pada pH 10-14, KIK-95% dan KIK-96% stabil hingga lebih dari 5 bulan dan masih memberikan respon yang baik.Kata kunci: kurkumin; kunyit; indikator pH; kertas indikator; indikator alami

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan kontekstual untuk siswa SMA dan mendeskripsikan respon siswa dalam pembelajaran yang berbasis kontekstual. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Seminari St. Rafael, Oepoi, Kupang. Desain Penelitian ini adalah research and development. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan perangkat berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran, Bahan Ajar Siswa, dan Lembar Kerja Siswa berbasis pendekatan kontekstual. Perangkat pembelajaran divalidasi oleh pakar dan kemudian diujicobakan. Variabel yang diidentifikasi adalah validitas dan respon siswa terhadap perangkat yang telah dikembangkan. Capaian dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa RPP, LKS, dan BAS berkategori baik. Selain itu, respon siswa sangat positip.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran yang menerapkan Model Auditory Intellectually Repetition yang dintegrasikan dengan Strategi Motivasi ARCS; Mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran kimia yang mengintegrasikan model Auditory Intellectually Repetition dan Strategi Motivasi ARCS; Mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran kimia; Mendeskripsikan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran kimia yng mengintegrasikan model Auditory Intellectually Repetition dan Strategi Motivasi ARCS. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan Borg & Gall. Lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 12 Kota Kupang, NTT. Desain Penelitian ini adalah research and development. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan perangkat berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran dan Lembar Kerja Siswa. Perangkat pembelajaran divalidasi oleh pakar dan kemudian diujicobakan. Variabel yang diidentifikasi adalah validitas, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, aktivitas siswa dan respon siswa. Capaian dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa RPP & LKS, yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak untuk diimplementasikan ke lapangan, Keterlaksanaan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran yang menerapkan model auditory intellectually repetition yang diintegrasikan dengan strategi motivasi ARCS berkategori baik; Aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga proses pembelajaran di kelas lebih terpusat pada siswa; Respon siswa adalah positip/baik.

Abstract

Turmeric is a tropical plant that is widely found on the Asian continent which is extensively used as a food coloring agent and fragrance. Ginger is a spice plant that it often found in South Asia which is widely has spread throughout the world. Coconut is an annual plant, has a hard stem and is generally not branched (monopodial), has fibrous roots, and contain water that is clear and tastes sweet, young coconut water has benefits such as antibacterial, beauty treatment, as an isotonic agent, and carry out the urination. This research was conducted to obtain information about the physicochemical properties and secondary metabolites contents of the coconut water, ginger and turmeric combination extract. The research method was carried out by mixing the mashed turmeric and ginger with the young coconut water and then macerated. The resulting extract was then tested for physicochemical properties (solubility) and identified groups of secondary metabolites (flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids/triterpenoids. The extract was soluble in 70% ethanol. In addition, the combination of young coconut water, ginger, and turmeric extract contain a group of secondary metabolites among others flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids.

Abstract

Traditionally in the village of Alor, East Nusa Tenggara Province, a combination of avocado and papaya leaves is often used to treat malaria. To be able to be developed as an ingredient in traditional medicine, it is necessary to conduct preliminary research to determine the content of secondary metabolites contained in the combination of avocado and papaya leaves. This study aims to determine the secondary metabolites contained in avocado and papaya leaves through phytochemical screening and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) analysis. Extraction was carried out using methanol solvent by maceration, and the extract yield was 91.4%. Testing the content of secondary metabolites in avocado and papaya leaf extracts was carried out by phytochemical screening. Furthermore, the TLC test was carried out to confirm the presence of a positive group of compounds on phytochemical screening, and to determine the chromatographic profile of the extract. After being tested by phytochemical and TLC analysis, the extract contains several metabolites, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. The TLC system used in this study can separate the phytochemical content and give positive results that confirm the results of the phytochemical screening.
