Abstract

This article is a study that highlights the various problems and challenges faced by the sociology education discipline in the Industrial 4.0 era. Included in it is to see the existence of sociology education in the midst of the current globalization. The method used in this writing is the method of literature by collecting various relevant research results. The conclusion of this study is that era 4.0 presents challenges to sociology education while providing opportunities if it is managed properly. Among the challenges are developments in information and communication technology, learning methods and curriculum changes.

Abstract

Beauty is a fundamental aspect of women's existence. They have aspirations to fulfill society's beauty norms. This research seeks to examine the complexity of the idea of beauty among Palopo City and emphasize its impact on women's consumer behavior. Data was collected using qualitative methodology by conducting in-depth interviews and observations of women from various age groups in Palopo City. Research findings show that women in the city of Palopo conceptualize beauty as a combination of physical aspects that can be measured and non-physical aspects, such as self-confidence and self-perception. Beauty is partly formed by advertisements in the mass media, which align with the goals of capital owners in the beauty business, giving rise to the concept of the beauty myth. Apart from that, this concept is also formed by self-objectification that arises from the social environment. The use of cosmetics has become a basic need for women and increases self-confidence. However, this consumptive behavior also has a negative impact, encouraging a wasteful lifestyle and forming a false consciousness because someone feels valued in society only when they have made an effort to look beautiful.   Keywords: Women, Beauty, Consumerism, Palopo City AbstrakKecantikan merupakan aspek mendasar dari eksistensi perempuan. Mereka memiliki cita-cita untuk memenuhi norma kecantikan dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengkaji kompleksitas gagasan kecantikan di kalangan warga Kota Palopo dan menekankan dampaknya terhadap perilaku konsumtif perempuan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metodologi kualitatif, yaitu dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap perempuan dari berbagai kelompok umur di Kota Palopo. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan di kota Palopo mengonseptualisasikan kecantikan sebagai perpaduan pada aspek fisik yang dapat diukur dan aspek nonfisik, seperti kepercayaan diri dan persepsi diri. Konsep kecantikan sebagian dibentuk oleh iklan-iklan di media massa yang sejalan dengan tujuan pemilik modal dalam bisnis kecantikan sehingga memunculkan konsep mitos kecantikan. Selain itu, konsep ini juga dibentuk oleh objektifikasi diri yang muncul dari lingkungan sosialnya. Penggunaan kosmetik telah menjadi kebutuhan mendasar bagi perempuan, dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri. Namun demikian, perilaku konsumtif ini juga menimbulkan dampak buruk, mendorong gaya hidup boros dan membentuk suatu kesadaran palsu bagi mereka karena seseorang merasa dihargai dalam suatu masyarakat hanya ketika mereka telah berupaya untuk tampil cantik Kata Kunci: Perempuan, Kecantikan, Konsumerisme, Kota Palopo

Abstract

Tomohon City in North Sulawesi province is one area famous for having a high tolerance among religious people. Multi-religions inhabit Tomohon City; blending several religions makes Tomohon City have its pattern in building a discourse of religious tolerance. In addition, the interaction between religious people in the city of Tomohon is harmonious. This study explains the interaction between visitors, mainly traders and traders in the Pasar Beriman of Tomohon City. Pasar Beriman, famous as the Pasar extreme, is a social arena that shows the social relations between its visitors and depicts a portrait of religious ties between Muslim and non-muslim communities. This research uses the qualitative descriptive method of collecting data through observation, documentation, and interviews directly with market visitors in Tomohon City. This study's results show that visitors' interaction patterns are integrated and associative. It is illustrated by the interactions that are established. So far, there has never been any conflict or disintegration of traders or market visitors. It is in the form of a positive thing to develop an attitude of tolerance for religious people in the city ofTomohon.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kurikulum Merdeka telah menjadi pusat perhatian dalam upaya reformasi pendidikan di Indonesia. Kurikulum ini dirancang untuk memberikan kemerdekaan yang lebih besar kepada guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan konteks lokal. Namun, pelaksanaan Kurikulum Merdeka juga menimbulkan sejumlah tantangan bagi guru. Artikel ini menyajikan hasil dari kegiatan program pelatihan yang bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana penguatan kompetensi guru dapat membantu mereka mengatasi tantangan yang muncul dalam konteks Kurikulum Merdeka, dengan fokus pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS), khususnya sosiologi. Melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan 25 orang guru IPS yang berada di Kabupaten Minahasa. Kegiatan pelatihan ini mengungkap sejumlah tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam menghadapi Kurikulum Merdeka, seperti kebutuhan akan sumber daya yang lebih banyak, penyesuaian kurikulum yang lebih luas, dan perubahan paradigma dalam pengajaran. Melalui pelatihan dan pengembangan kompetensi, guru dapat memperoleh keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang diperlukan untuk mengatasi tantangan ini. Pelatihan ini juga memungkinkan guru untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual, relevan, dan berorientasi pada siswa. Pentingnya penguatan kompetensi guru dalam menghadapi tantangan Kurikulum Merdeka. Dengan pelatihan yang tepat, guru dapat lebih siap untuk mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka dalam pembelajaran IPS: Sosiologi. Kata Kunci: Kurikulum Merdeka, Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial, Sosiologi, Penguatan Kompetensi Guru, Reformasi Pendidikan.  ABSTRACT The Merdeka Curriculum has taken centre stage in Indonesia's education reform efforts. The curriculum is designed to give teachers greater independence in designing learning that suits local needs and contexts. However, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum also poses a number of challenges for teachers. This article presents the results of a training programme activity that aims to understand how strengthening teachers' competencies can help them overcome the challenges that arise in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, with a focus on Social Science (IPS) subjects, particularly sociology. Through training and mentoring activities with 25 social studies teachers in Minahasa Regency. This training activity revealed a number of challenges that teachers face in dealing with the Merdeka Curriculum, such as the need for more resources, broader curriculum adjustments, and paradigm shifts in teaching. Through training and competency development, teachers can gain the necessary skills and knowledge to overcome these challenges. This training also enables teachers to create more contextualised, relevant and student-centred learning. The importance of strengthening teacher competencies in facing the challenges of the Merdeka Curriculum. With the right training, teachers can be better prepared to implement the Merdeka Curriculum in social studies learning: Sociology. Keywords: Curriculum Merdeka, Social Science, Sociology, Strengthening Teacher Competence, Education Reform.
