Abstract

This article examines the journey of democracy in Indonesia and citizenship education as a character education for democracy. This research was conducted using the literature study method by collecting information from various sources, such as books, journals and articles related to the research discussed. The results show that the Indonesian state has implemented its democracy and experienced several periods, until now it has undergone a period of reform. One proof of the success of democracy in Indonesia is that the Indonesian people are aware of political life and have begun to voice their aspirations and opinions. To carry out democracy even better, the Indonesian nation needs to be taught democracy education through citizenship education so that the Indonesian nation has good character as citizens.

Abstract

One of the social studies contents for grade IV SD is about Social and Cultural Diversity in Indonesia. In the midst of rapid technological developments, some traditional and hereditary activities have been replaced by activities contained in technological products such as gadgets. Therefore, cultural learning is very important to be introduced to students. One way that can attract students to know and get to know culture is by watching animated films because students are more interested in moving images that involve audio-visual activities. One of the educational animated films is the animated series 'Adit dan Sopo Jarwo' with one episode of “Ondel-Ondel Make Denis Angry” which is suitable for social and cultural content. The method used in this research is literature study and film analysis. The results of the research based on film analysis found that the animated film series "Adit & Sopo Jarwo: Ondel-Ondel Bikin Denis Jengkel" contained IPS content about social and cultural diversity in Indonesia, such as the Betawi language and Batak accent, the typical Betawi art, namely Ondel. -Ondel, and traditional games, namely Sondah and Kelereng.

Abstract

Learning media is one component in the learning process. Learning media is a tool that can help teachers convey learning material so that children can have an interest and interest in the learning material presented. It's just that in using learning media, teachers must be able to choose learning media that are appropriate to the material to be delivered and teachers must also adjust to the character of their students in choosing learning media. Some teachers still do not understand how important it is to use appropriate learning media so that learning does not feel monotonous and boring for students. Therefore, in this study the authors used the method of library research (library research) to examine how important appropriate instructional media is for the teaching and learning process in elementary schools. The results of the study state that appropriate learning media is very important in supporting student learning. Selection of appropriate learning can help students to understand the learning material delivered by the teacher. Learning media can provide concrete experience and as an intermediary that helps student learning.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the low literacy culture of reading and some grade 2 students who still have difficulty reading. One of the school literacy movement programs that can be done to increase students' interest in reading is the reading corner program. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the reading corner in students' interest in reading. The type of research used in this research is descriptive-qualitative, with research methods in the form of observation and literature study. The research subjects were grade 2 students at SDN Tirtayasa. The object of this research was the reading corner in Grade 2. The results showed that the reading corner played a very important role in growing and increasing students' interest in reading at school. Based on the research, it can be concluded that with a reading corner, students can use the reading corner as the closest reading facility, as the closest reading material, and also as a comfortable and attractive place to increase reading interest. The reading corner is managed by teachers as well as students, with the aim of introducing students to fun learning resources
