Abstract

Pengetahuan tentang penggunaan obat yang benar harus dimiliki oleh semua masyarakat terutama usia remaja yang konsumtif. Tingginya tinggal penyebaran obat palsu dan kesalahan dalam penggunaan obat menjadi penyebab pengobatan menjadi tidak efektif. Masyarakat harus memiliki pengetahuan tentang cara mendapatkan, menggunakan, menyimpan, dan membuang obat dengan benar. Adanya masalah ini dalam masyarakat mendorong sikap melakukan edukasi DAGUSIBU kepada remaja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untu melihat pengaruh edukasi DAGUSIBBU terhadap tingkat pengetahuan remaja tentang obat di Kampung Tualang untuk mewujudkan penggunaan obat rasional sehingga mewujudkan peningkatan derajat kesehatan masyarakat. Yang menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja setingkat SMA di Kampung Tualang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner dalam bentuk Goggle form yang berisi pertanyaan tentang obat kepada subjek kemudian dilakukan penilaian dengan skor 1-100. Setelah nilai awal diperoleh, dilanjutkan dengan pemberian edukasi dengan metode cerah melalui aplikasi zoom. Di akhir edukasi, subjek diberi waktu untuk mengerjaan post test yang berkaitan dengan materi tentang penggunaan obat, dan dilakukan penilaian. Hasil survei sebelum dan sesudah edukasi dibandingkan. Berdasarkan perbandingan nilai sebelum dan sesudah edukasi terlihat peningkatan pengetahuan remaja terhadap penggunaan obat yang benar. Oleh karena itu edukasi ini perlu dilanjutkan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja sebagai agen informasi yang baik bagi lingkungan Kampung Tualang secara umum dan khususnya bagi keluarga mereka sendiri.

Abstract

The rhizome of the temu mangga is a member of the Zingiberaceae family that has been used since ancient times for treatment of diabetes. The aim of this study was to examine the activity of reducing blood glucose levels in diabetic mice induced by alloxan after administration of the ethyl acetate fraction of temu mangga rhizome at a dose of 100; 200 and 300 mg/KgBW were compared with negative control (Na CMC) and positive control (Glibenclamide 0.65 mg/Kg BW). The research data were statistically analyzed using two-way ANOVA for the parameters of the percentage decrease in blood glucose and the percentage change in body weight followed by the Tukey multiple range test. The results showed that the administration of the ethyl acetate fraction of the mangga rhizome at doses of 100, 200 and 300 mg/KgBW prevented weight loss in mice compared to negative controls (p<0.05). The decrease in blood glucose levels of mice that were given the ethyl acetate fraction of the temu mangga rhizome at doses of 100, 200 and 300 mg/KgBW showed a significant difference compared to the negative control, and the dose of 300 mg/KgBW showed an insignificant difference compared to the positive control. The activity of lowering blood glucose levels is thought to be influenced by the content of terpenoid compounds.

Abstract

Mangkokan is one of traditional medicinal plants that has many benefits in restoring health, such as preventing hair loss, treating wounds, antibacterial agent, improving blood circulation and as an antioxidant agent. This study aimed to examine the activity of the ethanol extract of the mangkokan leaf (Polyscias scutellarium (Burm.f.) Fosberg) against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The extraction process was carried out by gradual maceration through three solvents including n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol. The antibacterial activity test was carried out by agar diffusion method by calculating diameter of the inhibition zone from ethanol extract of mangkokan leaf with four variation concentrations: 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%. The antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of the mangkokan leaf against Escherichia coli resulted in the average diameter od the inhibition zone at the following concentrations: 20% (5,9 mm), 40% (5,2 mm), 60% (5,9 mm), dan 80% (7,03 mm. While antibacterial test against Staphylococcus aures resulted in the average diameter of the inhibition zone at the following concentrations: 20% (9,66 mm), 40% (10,71 mm), 60% (11,27 mm), 80% (12,42 mm).

Abstract

Head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) are small parasites that live by sucking human blood causing infections of the scalp so that they experience inflammation. Efforts to eradicate head lice are to use natural insecticides, one of the plants that have the potential to be jarak pagar leaves (Jatropha curcas L). The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of ethanol extract jarak pagar leaves head lice. The method used is the laboratory experimental method by spraying ethanol extract leaves at a distance fence with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% against head lice. Based on the test results, the average mortality of ethanol extract of jarak pagar leaves is at a concentration of 15% which is the most effective concentration that can kill head lice with a mortality percentage of 100%, while at concentrations of 5% and 10% with mortality percentages of 40% and 60%. The results of this study can be concluded that ethanol extract of jarak pagarleaves can be a natural insecticide against head lice. .

Abstract

Matoa leaves (Pometia pinnata) contain antioxidants that can prevent premature aging due to free radical damage to skin cells, reduce dark spots, acne, and improve collagen performance in the skin. The gel preparation was chosen because it provides a feeling of coolness, moisture, and good absorption on the skin and is easily washed off with water. The purpose of this research is to create a gel formula and conduct a physical evaluation of the ethanol extract of matoa leaf gel. This study employed an experimental method in which gel preparations were made from ethanol extract of matoa leaves at concentrations of 2%, 3%, and 4%. The organoleptic test results are thick, clear, light green, dark green, and dense dark green, with a distinct smell of ethanol extract of matoa leaves. F0, F1, F2, and F3 all pass the homogeneity test. The pH test results for F0, F1, F2, and F3 are 4-5. F0, F1, F2, and F3 dispersion tests were 6.1 cm, 5.3 cm, 5.7 cm, and 5.5 cm, respectively. As a result, the ethanolic extract of matoa leaves can be formulated as a gel preparation with favorable physical results.

Abstract

Premature aging is the process of aging skin that it faster than time because there is oxidative damage caused by free radicals. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of the cosmeceuticals spray gel combination of turmeric rhizome fraction with catfish skin collagen. Curcumin compounds in turmeric are known to have high antioxidant activity to inhibit free radicals and the addition of collagen is intended to be able to provide intake in improving skin structure due to premature aging. The preparations are made into 8 formulas with various concentration. The preparations formed will be evaluated and tested for their antioxidant activity. The result obtained were the extraction of catfish skin collagen the yield of 12.466% collagen. Examination of the ash content, moisture content, fat and protein contain were obtained respectively 0.0105; 0.0525; 5.98; 85.76%. In the evaluation of spray gel preparations, it was found that the preparations F1-F8 met quality standards on the test of spreadability, adhesion resistance, dry time, pH, spray conditions, except for the viscosity value at F4 and F5. The highest % inhibition value was obtained at F8 (0.5% ethyl acetate fractions of turmeric rhizome and 2% collagen of catfish skin) amounted to 48.82%. In statistical t-test showed sig 0.001, indicates there are significant differences in each formula.

Abstract

Ikan patin merupakan salah satu ikan air tawar yang bisa dijadikan sumber asam lemak karena mempunyai kandungan minyak tinggi. Ada proses oksidasi bisa menyebabkan kerusakan pada minyak yang ditandai dengan ketengikan. Penambahan antioksidan diperlukan untuk mencegah terjadinya reaksi oksidasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas minyak ikan patin (Pangasius hypophthalmus) dengan penambahan minyak sereh sebagai antioksidan alami. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kualitas minyak ikan pada penelitian ini adalah metode titrasi dengan mengukur angka peroksida dan jumlah asam lemak bebas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah penyimpanan selama 7 hari angka peroksida minyak ikan larutan kontrol meningkat 0,51 meq/kg, sedangkan angka peroksida larutan uji dan larutan pembanding meningkat 0,37 meq/kg dan 0,97 meq/kg masing-masingnya. Kadar asam lemak bebas minyak ikan baik larutan kontrol, larutan uji, dan larutan kontrol adalah 0,25%, 0,08%, dan 0,08%. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan minyak sereh dapat menghambat kenaikan angka peroksida dan kadar asam lemak bebas pada minyak ikan patin.

Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have a very important role in driving development and growth and the economy, both in developing and developed countries (Chrismardani, 2014). MSMEs are the right choice for the community to improve economic conditions. The main objective is to collect comprehensive data related to MSMEs in the area in an effort to improve the economy and sustainability of MSMEs in Sungai Pinang Village, as well as to seek to select MSMEs that have significant potential to increase their selling power. In order to be able to identify, understand, and develop MSMEs that have better growth opportunities in the context of Sungai Pinang Village. Ujang/Syahrul's duck egg farm in Sungai Pinang, Tambang District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, is the only duck farm in the area. A group of 24 KKN students from Abdurrab University chose this business as an MSME program because of its remote location and the lack of public knowledge about it, while the community's interest in duck eggs and meat is high. Their initial steps were to conduct a location survey, ask permission from the business owner, and adopt online marketing methods and placing banners as a promotional strategy. The positive impact was a significant increase in sales of duck eggs and meat, even extending beyond Sungai Pinang.
