Abstract

The cast aluminum products at Karanggayam, Segoroyoso, Pleret, Bantul is suffering from quality stagnation. They are limited to manufacturing "Vandels", Logos, and Souvenirs as their main products. These products will then be sold to some business around Yogyakarta. The method of manufacturing is still very traditional, Dry casting the aluminum in soft sand. They haven't been able to produce products with certain artistic specifications to supply the global market demand. Thus the need to increase the quality of post-producing techniques like polishing and lathe work is required. These can be achieved by developing the industry in various aspect including but not limited to creation, production, distribution, and management. The 2 targets of this development are 2 home industries: "Habibi Cor" and "Abu Cor". By working on existing technique and skills, compounded by new designs and the application of a polishing machine and a Lathe machine these 2 home industries can be further improved. The goal of this Program to develop the cast aluminum industry is to accelerate the industry by adding polishing and lathe work, as well as adding a new design like accessories, sculpture, and wall decoration and to increase export by matching the current world trend. After the application of the new technologies and methods, an increase in export is to be expected. which in turn will increase the economic condition of the craftsmen. The methods used are for example: explaining about the uses of this project by socializing the goals, motivation, and the form of the activities itself. Various workshop and guidance programs to give the methods of developing new design, increasing product quality by polishing, and expanding the knowledge about management especially around accounting, producing, and marketing. Key Words: Craft, Cast Aluminum, Segoroyoso

The fungi who survives its live in a way be a parasite the same as human who like as a parasitic in the earth. In the creation of this art, the exploration stage, the writer examined about fungi as the object that become the sources in deeply, both in terms of visual or as discourses and the valid data that covered about fungi so that it could help the writer to trigger the imagination largely. It could to ease at the design making. In the next stage, the writer through the improvised stage by doing some experiment thus in the end decided to choose a ferns super as a major media term using the printing resin technique as a helped media in exploring a ferns that has interesting motives and texture as a main ingredient in this creation. The writer used the theory mimesis by taking the kingdom fungi as a natural object that is copy to furnish discourse in review the creation of these artworks. The writer also used the theory of semiotics metaphors as a means of rhetorical choice in the process of semiotics between the two objects that became inspiration sources and also the theory of aesthetic in reviewing of aesthetic side either objectively or subjectively. The writer’s work would not be understood clearly without any a better understanding deeply about the classification of fungi and human survival systems, so that the three theories have an important role in the craft creation like Applied Art (Lamp) and Fine Art (Expression). Keywords: Kingdom Fungi, Heterotrophy, Parasitism, Commensalism, Symbiosis Mutualism.

Abstract

Batik is making motifs on cloth with a coloring system using a wax barrier. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) notes batik as a cultural heritage. Batik is one of the traditional cultural characteristics of Indonesia. Batik work has become a traditional skill for some Indonesian people. Batik is currently produced by many craftsmen in several regions in Indonesia. There are several types of batik, one of which is the stamping technique, namely the technique of making batik motifs by stamping wax on the fabric. The stamp technique aims to produce batik motifs automatically bulk. With a tool in the form of a batik stamp, you can speed up the batik production process. Batik stamp tools generally use tools made of copper metal. This material in the procurement process is relatively expensive. This paper aims to improve the efficiency of batik products by applying quilling paper stamp batik as an alternative tool that is cheap and easy to make to assist the batik production process. Quilling paper stamp batik can provide benefits for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the batik production process. Because batik cap made of copper requires relatively complicated materials and the manufacturing process. In this paper, qualitative methods are used by exploring batik motifs and batik paper stamp quilling tools in one pattern unit, namely applying batik stamp quilling paper tools. Quilling paper stamp batik can be a new alternative as a tool in batik production. Quilling paper batik stamp has the advantage of being more economical and efficient. Production and diversification of batik motifs are more varied. It is hoped that the batik industry will experience an increase in the production of fitas and the economy of the batik industry in Indonesia is increasing.
