Abstract

Sabun pada umumnya digunakan dalam aktivitas sehari hari sebagai  pembersih dan pencuci kotoran yang menempel pada suatu media atau tubuh. Diketahui ada dua bentuk jenis sabun, yaitu berbentuk padatan dan cair. Ketika terjadinya pandemi Covid-19, penggunaan sabun merupakan alternative pencegahan mudah dan sederhana. Dimana dalam pelaksanaannya dapat dilakukan secara mandiri di masyarakat. Pelatihan pembuatan sabun organik di Ranting Muhammadiyah Kampung Aur (PRM Aur) dimasa pandemic Covid-19 masih mewabah,pelatihan ini  memberikan pengertian kepada masyarakat betapa pentingnya sabun. Selain itu akan membentuk kelompok masyarakat yang dapat memproduksi sabun untuk membantu meningkatkan pendapatan ekonomi

Abstract

The whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) biotype B also known as Bemisia argentifolii (Gennadius) is a more malignant whitefly biotype in damaging plants compared to non-B biotype. Currently the whitefly B. tabaci biotype B has been reported to exist in Indonesia. Basic information such as life cycle, length of life, fecundity, and breeding ability of a whitefly is important information as a basis in preparing the whitefly control strategy. The aim of this research was to study the life cycle and demographic statistic of the B. tabaci biotype B and the non-B biotype on chili pepper. The study was conducted by observing the development of the whiteflies from eggs to adult in a growth chamber that the temperature and lighting were controlled. Observations were made on several aspects of biology and some parameters of demographic statistics. The results showed that the biotype B of B. tabaci has several different biological aspects with the non-B whitefly in chili pepper. The life cycle of the biotype B of B. tabaci and the non-B were different, 33.27 and 30.86 days respectively. The biotype B of B. tabaci had a net reproduction rate (R0) which was similar to that of the non-B biotype as well as the average of its generation. However, the intrinsic increase rate (r) of the biotype B B. tabaci was 2.5 times shorter than the non-B biotype. The biotype B of B. tabaci doubled its population (DT) 2 times faster than the non-B biotype. It is clear that the biotype B of B. tabaci potentially more dangerous than the non-B.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kelurahan Aur merupakan pemukiman warga di daerah bantaran Sungai Deli, yang kerap mengalami banjir ketika musim penghujan. Setelah banjir surut biasanya memberikan dampak lingkungan berupa endapan lumpur yang tertinggal dan jika endapan lumpur ini dibuang kembali ke sungai akan menjadi salah satu penyebab pendangkalan sungai. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu warga mengatasi dampak lingkungan tersebut dengan memanfaatkannya sebagai media bertanam sayuran secara vertikultur, di samping itu juga untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sayur dan peningkatan ekonomi bagi masyarakat mitra. Mitra PKM ini adalah ibu-ibu Ranting A’isyiyah Aur sejumlah 15 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, penyuluhan dan pelatihan pemanfaatan endapan lumpur sebagai media tanam sayuran. Hasil yang dicapai dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta tentang pemanfaatan endapan lumpur sungai, budidaya tanaman sayuran dan budidaya tanaman sayuran secara vertikultur masing-masing 53,33%, 40% dan 60%. Cara pembuatan rak vertikultur meningkat 40%.Abstract: Kelurahan Aur is a residential area on the banks of the Deli River, which often experiences flooding during the rainy season. After the flood recedes, it usually has an impact in the form of soil sedimentary left behind and if it is dumped back into the river, it will be the cause of river silt. The purpose of this activity is to help residents overcome these environmental impacts by utilizing it as a medium for verticulture meeting vegetable needs and increasing the economy for partner communities. The partners of this activity are the women of Branch A'isyiyah, a total of 15 persons. The method used is socialization, counseling and training on soil sedimentary as the medium for verticulture. The results achieved from this activity are increased knowledge and understanding of the use of soil sedimentary, cultivation of vegetables and cultivation of vertikulture, each 53.33%, 40% and 60%. Vertical racks making increased by 40%.

Abstract

Urban farming is one solution in solving food problems in Indonesia by utilizing vacant land so that people can improve the household economy. An example of a problem case is that of rice farmers in Pematang Ganjang Village, this is an important problem for farmer groups in Pematang Ganjang Village because they only depend on one livelihood, namely rice cultivation. Meanwhile, in Pematang Ganjang village, income is still seasonal, the majority in the village only grows rice. So, when the new planting season there are jobs for farmers. The purpose of this activity is to create a food self-sufficient community in order to create welfare for farmers in Pematang Ganjang Village by cultivating cabbage flowers in empty yards. The benefits to be achieved in this activity include increasing skills and knowledge in the use of vacant land and house yards with a fertigation system in Pematang Ganjang Village. The achievement of government programs related to urban farming as a form of achieving food independence for the community. With the knowledge gained in this activity, farmers do not need to rely on one source of income, but farmers get additional income from cabbage flower cultivation. To create a food self-sufficient community in order to create welfare for farmers in Pematang Ganjang Village. Based on the problems that occur in the field, the solution to this problem is the Participatory Rural Appraisal approach, the lecture method, demonstration plots and mentoring. PKM training implementation procedures. The results of the service activities that have been carried out show that farmers are enthusiastic about transferring technology to the fertigation system and implementing urban farming by utilizing their yards as an additional livelihood for farmers who initially only had one livelihood.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Bemisia tabaci merupakan salah satu hama penting yang menyebabkan kerusakan langsung dengan menghisap cairan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ini memberikan informasi neraca kehidupan hama Bemisia tabaci pada tanaman cabai. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, Medan pada Januari sampai Februari 2020. Tanaman yang digunakan dalam pengujian ini adalah tanaman cabai varietas Keriting Bogor umur tiga bulan. Pengujian neraca kehidupan pada tanaman diawali dengan memasukkan 15 individu imago tabaci (5 jantan dan 10 betina) ke dalam tabung plastik. Hasil Penelitian: kutu kebul yang melengkat di sungkup berasal dari tanaman cabai memiliki morfologi panjang sekitar 0,2-0,3 mm. Telur dimasukkan ke dalam jaringan tanaman. Telur dibawah daun pada suhu 26-32oC masa inkubasi berlangsung selama 4-6 hari, sedangkan pada suhu 18-22oC meningkat menjadi 10-16 hari.

Abstract

The use of coriander seeds as acooking spice in a number of food processing is widely found and damage to coriander is known to be cause by Stegobium paneceum (L), which cause a decrease in a decreased fruid weigth, an unattractive fruit shape, and a musty smell, which is a form of decreased fruit weight, qulity and quantity of coriander seeds. Based on the observation of the biological aspect, the egg phase is 6-12 days, larvae is 10-140 days, pupa is 7-12 days, and 25-37 days. In the treatment of differences in water content to coriander, the mortality value of Z1 was 16,2%, Z2was 12,6%, Z3 was 5%, and Z4 was 1% at 30 day after observation. The shrinkage that occurred in coiander seeds was 0,14% (Z4), 0,04% (Z3), 0,02% (Z2), and 0,02% (Z1).

Abstract

Suara sebagai faktor lingkungan dapat mempengaruhi kehidupan di alam, baik makro maupun mikro, berbagai suara juga dapat mempengaruhi bentuk kristal air, seperti penelitian seorang ilmuwan dari Jepang Prof. Dr. Masaru Emoto terhadap air. Diketahui bahwa komponen ideal tanah mineral diantaranya terdiri dari 25% air dan 5% kandungan bahan organik, yang kehidupan tanah ada di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan populasi total mikroba dan P tersedia dalam tanah yang diperdengarkan suara dan diberi air yang diperlakukan suara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium ilmu tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara pada bulan Agustus sampai Oktober 2018. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Petak Terpisah dengan 3 ulangan. Petak utama adalah suara murotal (S) dengan 2 taraf, yaitu S0 = tanpa suara murotal dan S1 = dengan suara murotal.  Anak petak adalah air yang diperlakukan, terdiri dari A0 = Air tanpa diperdengarkan suara, A1 = Air yang diperdengarkan suara murotal, A2 = Air yang diperdengarkan suara kasar.  Parameter yang diukur adalah populasi total mikroba tanah dan kandungan P tersedia tanah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paparan suara secara utuh dapat meningkatkan P tersedia tanah secara signifikan dari 77,1 ppm menjadi 86,7 ppm (11,07%).

Abstract

Desa Pemata Johar is one of the destination villages for thematic KKN activities. This village has become a destination because the Pematang Johar village government is very concentrated on developing the potential of the village, one of the potentials of the Pematang Johar village that needs to be developed is the use of empty land belonging to residents in the framework of producing food in the form of vegetables. Purpose of activity: The purpose of this activity is to optimize abandoned narrow land as a location for food production in the form of vegetables. In this activity, the community was introduced to planting methods that do not require large areas of land but produce maximum results and are easy to make. Activities are carried out using a Participatory Rural Appraisal approach, lecture methods, demonstration plots and mentoring. The results achieved in this verticulture making program were that previously there was a lot of used bottle waste lying around unused now it has become useful and also now the residents' yards have become more useful in order to add value to the beauty of the village and economic income. The results achieved are appropriate technology that utilizes vacant land and used waste as a medium for planting vegetables. Vegetables that are harvested can be sold by local residents or cooked for themselves. In addition, the harvest time for vegetable crops is shorter so that residents do not have to wait long for the results of the vertical planting carried out in Thematic KKN activities. Based on the activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that PKK women and residents in the village of Pematang Johar are very enthusiastic and want to take advantage of the vacant land for vertical cultivation. With this activity, you can increase knowledge and skills in the community through the Thematic KKN activity programs
