Abstract

Balong settlement at Surakarta is a portrait unique of settlement because there are Javanese and generation of China. Intercultural communication in settlement live of society here as focus observation. Informant succeed dept interview as many as eight, four ethnic generation China and four Javanese. Intercultural communication composed dynamic communication between China and Java eth- nic. They used Javanese as language everyday, difference shake hands between man and women, difference flag or symbol when overtaken by death could understood between ethnic China and Javanese ethnic. China claim to be there’s cultural succeeded in uniting with java cultural. Social interaction China and Javanese looked in kinds of social activity like social gathering, fasting open together, village patrol, independent day celebration, and voluntary labor service, etc. Social activity is interaction social medium people in Balong settlement. When racial unrest of China at Surakarta fifth, Balong settlement safe in this town. There are tolerance very nice, care and familiar among people in village very nice, it communication generation China and Javanese effective.

Abstract

Polygamy matter has been some hot issue which is deliberated by many people, espe- cially after the confession of ustadz Abdullah Gymnastiar, the leader of Daarut Tauhid Geger, Kalung Girang, Jawa Barat, school of Koranic studies; who is married to a widow named Alfarini Eridani to be his second wife. The marriage of Aa Gym divided people into two sides, one side supported, and the other refused, while the government was also involved in. By means of mass media, then it would be seen how the attitude tendency of a media in viewing polygamy issue would be exacerbate, neutralize, or supportive through framing analyzes. There is three topics used in this research, they are: the first topic: The Cause of Polygamy Press Spread on Seputar Indonesia Media, the second topic: Reaction by People Due to Polygamy on Mass Media, the third topic: The Government’s Role in Encountering the Polygamy Issue on Mass Media. The research methods used are framing analysis Pan Model and Kosicki, which is by syntax analyzing (headline, lead, background, source quotation, closing), script (5W+1H), thematic (detail, co- herence, sentence form, pronoun), rhetoric, (lexicon, metaphor, photograph, graphic, words). The news researched is six news, which is each 2 news based on those three topics. The research result showed that initially the newspaper Seputar Indonesia endeavored to show neutral frame which was indifferent, by consideration that polygamy is some right for everyman who is desire and able to polygamy, while those who refuse is some part of democratic life. However, the frame of Seputar Indonesia has begun to shift to exacerbate the conflict in society. Seputar Indo- nesia showed the frame manner to legalize of polygamy, through news selection and press pat- tern one news one side, which is contained smoothly and obscurely, by indirectly state its support through press on Seputar Indonesia newspaper.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi komunikasi mempengaruhi akses berbagai budaya Korea ke Indonesia. Negara Korea dan Indonesia saling bekerjasama dalam berbagai aspek. Hampir setiap semester mahasiswa Korea yang datang ke Yogyakarta meningkat jumlahnya. Kedatangan mereka di Yogyakarta mengakibatkan kontak antarbudaya tidak bisa dihindari, sehingga penyesuaian atau adaptasi komunikasi antarbudaya terjadi karena latar belakang budaya yang berbeda. Perbedaan latar belakang budaya menyebabkan terjadinya kecemasan atau ketidakpastian dalam proses penyesuaian dan interaksi dengan orang-orang pribumi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses penyesuaian dan adaptasi dalam komunikasi antarbudaya dan hambatan yang dihadapi mahasiswa Korea selama di Yogyakarta. Teori-teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Kegelisahan atau Manajemen Ketidakpastian dari WilliamB.Gudykunst dan pendekatan komunikasi antarbudaya melalui persepsi, komunikasi ver- bal dan nonverbal oleh LarryA.Samovar, analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dari pengamatan di lapangan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecemasan atau ketidakpastian yang dialami oleh mahasiswa Korea. Selain itu ada hambatan utama yang dialami dalam menyesuaikan diri dengan mahasiswa pribumi oleh mahasiswa Korea yaitu bahasa. Namun demikian, rasa saling menghargai, memahami dan rasa empati dapat meminimalkan munculnya konflik.

Abstract

Anak-anak jalanan muncul karena rendahnya ekonomi, kurangnya perhatian dan kasih sayang dari orang tua mereka. Banyak hal yang publik tidak tahu tentang kehidupan anak-anak jalanan bahwa mereka memiliki sesuatu yang menarik untuk diamati. Pendidikan dan perilaku mereka menjadi masalah utama yang perlu diperhatikan. Karena kondisi di atas Rumah Singgah Anak Mandiri berusaha memotivasi anak-anak jalanan dalam pendidikan yang penuh dan mengubah perilaku mereka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komunikasi interpersonal antara pendiri dan anak jalanan di Rumah Singgah Anak Mandiri. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pendiri, anak jalanan, dan pengelola Rumah Singgah Anak Mandiri Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini adalah desain kualitatif deskriptif. Data diambil, dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan disajikan oleh deskripsi rinci dan sistematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal antara pendiri dan anak jalanan dalam memotivasi mereka di bidang pendidikan dan mengubah perilaku anak-anak tidak cukup efektif. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil pengamatan dan wawancara mengenai efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal antara pendiri dan anak jalanan. Kegagalan untuk mencapai optimalnya komunikasi interpersonal dapat dilihat dari aspek komunikasi interpersonal yang tidak dapat diterapkan secara maksimal adalah pemahaman, sikap positif dan visi yang sama. Kadang-kadang proses komunikasi tidak menerima umpan balik yang sempurna dari komunikan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merasa komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan antara pendiri dan anak jalanan perlu ditingkatkan kualitas dan kuantitasnya.

Abstract

This research is to know how the meaning of bone removal procession on Tiwah inCentral Kalimantan and to know what is contained message in the procession of boneremoval, this reasearch is done by doing semiotic analysis on the symbols and signs thatare in procession. The type of this research is qualitative interpretative by using semioticanalysis method, semiotics is a science that examines the sign. Data collection on thisreasearch using observation techniques , study of literature, interview and documentation.The technique to knowing the meaning of the bone removal process is by analyzing thesigns present in the procession. Based on the results of the research we know that, theprocession of bone removal on tiwah has a very deep meaning for life. This processionshowing the affection and caring from dayak society to their relatives and a hope to havea better life. There is a myth like Roland Barthes says there is a myth but the truth are stillunknownable the truthness. the myth of bone removal after performing ritual removal ofbone is a prayer and a hope that has been presented to the Creator.

Abstract

The development of the Lava Tour Merapi tourism object is a special attraction for tourists, but in its management the regency tourism office faces obstacles from local residents who first managed the tourism object after the eruption of Mount Merapi in 2010. The research objective was to find the communication pattern of the Sleman Regency tourism office with local residents. tourism site. A qualitative approach, by conducting interviews, observation and data analysis. Groupthink Theory, which is a decision-making process that occurs in the manager of the Merapi Lava Tour and the Tourism Office. The results of this study indicate that the Tourism Office has maximally provided services, by not taking over tourism objects, instead the Tourism Office helps in collecting fees so that when there are things that are not desired, Jasa Raharja's insurance can apply when purchasing retribution tickets legally. The communication pattern carried out by the Tourism Office is indeed ineffective, because there is no clear flow between the Dinas and managers and community members.

Abstract

Sanggar Batik Kalpika is one of business is producing batik craft has been since 1970. To sell batik artwork and shirts of painting that are getting eroded about there enthusiasts, there need to be the communications marketing strategy good to reach the desired target. The purpose of this research is to know the communication marketing strategy the applied Sanggar Batik Kalpika to sell shirts of painting artwork Yogyakarta. This research use the theory planning as thinking base of knew about the process or steps communication marketing strategy to sell shirts of painting artwork. The kind of research used is descriptive qualitative research. Tecnique data collection is by in-depth interview, observation, and study dokumentation. This research result indicates there are two marketing done in Sanggar Batik Kalpika that is directly and indirectly. Marketing communications directly to build a partnership with several parties, In the form of personal selling. As for marketing communications that indirectly covering publication, and conducted direct marketing. In the implementation of marketing comunikation, Sanggar Batik Kalpika already have marketing departments, but in manage not yet optimal. With the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of marketing comunication conducted by research, is expected to provide contribution so that the product of shirts painting artwork Sanggar Batik Kalpika can continue increase sales.
