Abstract

The cultivation of stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni M.) in peat soil is necessary to find the substitution of sugar needs and as an alternative natural sweeteners. The aim of this study is to know how the the dynamics of leaf growth of germ of cutting of the shoot stevia on using the chicken manure fertilizer in peat soil. The results of this study are expected as a material of the study to support the development of cultivation of Stevia in the peat soil. This study was conducted using a polybag on Wortel street area, Panarung of the District of Pahandut of the Palangka Raya city from April to May 2017. The data of the observation were collected to the leaf growth (number of leaf and leaf area) of germ of cutting of the shoot stevia plant at the age of germ on 10 and 20 days after planting (DAP). The results of the study showed that the using of chicken manure fertilizer by the dosage 20 tons ha-1 until 40 tons ha-1 can increasing the dynamics of leaf growth (number of leaf and leaf area) of germ of cutting of the shoot stevia plant at the age of germ on 10 and 20 days after planting (DAP) in peat soil. The result of this study also requires further detailed study on the weight area ratio and spesific leaf area for cutting of the shoot stevia.

Abstract

The cultivation of Stevia in peat soil has ever done. In the present, to cultivate Stevia in peat soils is necessary to get the substitution of sugar needs and as an alternative natural sweetener for food and beverage. The aim of this study is to know how far the influence of the using of stable fertilizer to the capability of the growth and biomass of the root on the cutting of the Stevia shoots in the peat soil city of Palangka Raya. The stable fertilizer that was used in this study is chicken feces. The results of this study are expected as a material of the study to support the development of cultivation of Stevia in the peat soil. This study was conducted using a polybag on Wortel street, Panarung of the District of Pahandut of the Palangkaraya city from February to April 2016. The data of the observation were collected to the growth of the longest root length (cm) and root biomass (g) of Stevia plants at the age of 10, 20, 30, and 40 HST. The results of the study showed that the using of chicken feces as the stable fertilizer to the Stevia plant has affected to the growth of the longest root length and root biomass of Stevia plant at the age of 10, 20, 30 and 40 days after planting. The result of this study also requires a further detailed study on the growth of the number, diameter, and surface of the roots area.

Abstract

Determining of the harvest of onion in the peat soil can be done by using physiological harvest criteria, but calculating the appropriate of harvest time can support the quality of harvesting of the onion plant. This study was conducted by using polybags in research and experiment gardens of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry of the University of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya from April to June in 2016. The given fertilization was an organic fertilizer in peat soil by using stall fertilizer like chicken feces with dosages of 15-30 tons ha-1 (PK) and bokashi of stall fertilizer of chicken feces with a dosage of 2-5 tons ha-1 (BK). The observation was done to the calculation of daily temperature (°C), the average of daily temperature (°C), and the unit of heat (heat unit) (°C day) as long as the cultivation of onion plant. The results showed that the harvest time that appropriate to the harvest physiological criteria in the treatment of BK at the age of 57 days after planting is relatively accurate and appropriate because it has a heating unit for 947,17oC day, and the harvest time that appropriate to the harvest physiological criteria of PK treatment at the age of 59 days after planting is relatively late because it has a heating unit for 978,09oC day.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and identification constanta value of leaf shape for leaf area measurement using length cross width of leaf of horticulture plant in peat soil. This research was conducted from February to May 2015 in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan. This research implemented by observed of leaf from 32 species of horticulture plant in peat soil. In every species, was observed 30 leaf (lamina). Measuring leaf area absolutelly using on grid paper or millimeter graph paper, and than measuring ratio if leaf area is can finding using length cross width of leaf. Result of this research, showed that 32 species of horticulture plant in peat soil have regularity of leaf shape and can identified of constanta value for leaf area measurement using length cross width of leaf.Leaf area measurement using length cross width of leaf is alternative technique because easier (simple), quick (fast), low cost, and accurate to plant growth analysis for non-destructive methods. Leaf area measurement not explain plant growth only, but many purposes was can resulted from it. This research suggested to identification of constanta value of leaf shape for another species horticulture plant in peat soil cultivation.

Abstract

The giving of dolomite lime as the treatment was done as many as 3 dose level, namely: D1 = 3 tons ha-1; D2 = 6 tons ha-1 and D3 = 9 tons ha-1 as many as 9 replications. Observation was done to height of plant (cm); the number of leaves (leave); the leaves area (cm2), the leaves area index (ILD), fresh weight of harvest (g), and the fresh harvest index (IP) at the age of 21 and 28 days after planting (DAP). Fresh crop harvesting of Kale (Kangkong) was done by repealed (destructive). The result of this study showed that based on visual estimation and consideration of physiological indicators of Kale (Kangkong) growth in peat soil because of the giving dolomite lime, then criteria for the crop was considered can be harvesting starting at age 21 DAP and it did not need to wait until the plant at ages 28 DAP on all doses of giving lime (3-9 tons ha-1) because it has a physiological growth that supports the harvest index that relatively high at 73.2–78.1% despite fresh harvest at age 28 HST also able to achieve a harvest index of 74.9–76.1%. The result of this study suggested that fresh harvesting of Kale (Kangkong) that was repealed (destructive) should be beginning about age 21 DAP when planted in peat soil by using dolomite lime with a dose of 3-9 tons ha-1.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and find the growth potency on the seeds germination and seedling growth of Morinda plant from seed on the kind of plant media composition from March to June 2014 in Panarung, Palangka Raya. This experiment used single treatment with randomized complete design, each treatment was repeated ten times. The treatment consist of single factor is kind of plant media composition in five mixture composition and ratio : s1 = mixture of mineral soil + peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1:1), s2 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s3 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s4 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1), and s5 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1). Variable response of this research is a time of germination, the percentage of seeding, height of the plant, number of leaves, the diameter of the stem, and leaf area on 12 weeks after seeding. The experiment resulted, showed that plant media composition is very significant to high plant and leaf area seeding of morinda, but not significant to a number of leaf and diameter of stem on 12 weeks after seeding. Plant media composition that mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1) is the best treatment to support germination and increase seedling growth.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and analyze the weight area ratio and specific leaf area mustard green on the effect of organic fertilizer PETROGANIK on peat soil in Palangka Raya from January to March 2014 in Panarung, Palangka Raya. This experiment used single treatment with randomized complete design, each treatment was repeated ten times. The treatment consist of single factor is dose of giving organic fertilizer PETROGANIK (PO) in five levels : PO1 = 200 kg ha-1, PO2 = 400 kg ha-1, PO3 = 600 kg ha-1, PO4 = 800 kg ha-1 and PO5 = 1.000 kg ha-1. Variable response of this research is a high plant, number of leaves, leaf area, weight area ratio, specific leaf area, and fresh yield of mustard green on 28 days after planting. The experiment resulted, showed that organic fertilizer PETROGANIK nonsignificant to high plant, number of leaves, leaf area, weight area ratio and specific leaf area but significant and can increase the fresh yield of mustard green. Although organic fertilizer PETROGANIK nonsignificant to weight area ratio and spesific leaf area mustard green, but its an alternative variable to describing plant growth and correlation with a fresh yield of mustard green. Application 1.000 kg ha-1 organic fertilizer PETROGANIK is the best treatment to increase growth plant and yield mustard green on peat soil.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth response of the love wave plant (Anthurium plowmanii) on Petrovita leaf fertilizer in an advanced nursery conducted in August - October 2011 in Panarung Village, Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City. Single treatment design (one factor) with 10 (ten) repetitions in the form of Petrovita leaf fertilizer (D) consisting of 5 concentration levels, namely: d1 = 0.5 ml l-1 (0.05%); d2 = 1.0 ml l-1 (0.10%); d3 = 1.5 ml l-1 (0.15%); d4 = 2.0 ml l-1 (0.20%); and d5 = 2.5 ml l-1 (0.25%) using a completely randomized design. Observations were made when the plants in the advanced nurseries had received treatment applications 4 times at intervals of 2 weeks. Observations were made on plant height (cm); stem height (cm); number of leaves (leaves); leaf length (cm); leaf width (cm); and leaf area (cm2). The results of this study indicate that Petrovita complete leaf fertilizer has a very significant effect on increasing the growth of love wave plants aged 8 MST in advanced nurseries. Petrovita fertilizer concentration of 0.2% or 2 ml l-1 (d4) is the best and most efficient treatment for love wave plants in advanced nurseries. It is recommended to increase the growth of love wave plants in advanced nurseries using Petrovita 0.2% concentration but tried with an interval of less than 2 weeks (for example once a week).

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect interaction of application of types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production and fruit quality of melons on peatlands, effect of application of types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production and fruit quality of melons on peatlands, and the agronomic efficiency of the use of several types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production of melons on peatlands. This research design was used as a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consists of two factors with 4 replication. The first factor consisted of types of organic fertilizer (P) i.e. chicken manure (PA), guano manure (PG), and cow manure (PS). The second factor consisted of fertilizer dosage (D) i.e. 0 tons ha-1 (without fertilization, called control), D1 = 15 tons ha-1, D2 = 30 tons ha-1 and D3 = 45 tons ha-1. The data obtained by analysis of variance (ANOVA) or F test at α = 5% and 1% levels to determine the effect of treatment was tested further by HSD (honestly significant difference) testat the level of 5%. The result shows that the interaction type of organic fertilizer and the dosage of organic fertilizer treatment significant effect on the weight of the melon. Chicken manure is the best organic fertilizer on the size and quality of the melon. Dosage of 45 tons ha-1 organic fertilizer gave the highest results but it was not significantly different with a dosage of 30 tons ha-1. The use of chicken manure fertilizer of 30 tons ha-1 is more efficient in agronomy in increasing melons yield on peatlands.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan kiambang menjadi kompos sebagai pupuk organik. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melatih mitra untuk memanfaatkan kiambang yang selama ini dianggap sebagai gulma air menjadi produk yang bermanfaat yaitu kompos. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan bermitra dengan kelompok tani “Palangka Raya Bertani” di Kelurahan Tumbang Tahai Kecamatan Bukit Batu, Kota Palangka Raya, Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Metode yang dilakukan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktek, monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah mitra mendapatkan pengetahuan baru dalam membuat kiambang menjadi kompos, dapat menghemat biaya pembelian pupuk untuk kegiatan pertanian dan memiliki peluang usaha kompos.
