Abstract

Abstract High MRR is a goal to be achieved in the workpiece machining process using CNC turning. But the slow process will affect the processing time of the product, and will increase production costs. To overcome this, it is necessary to set appropriate process parameters to produce the most influential contribution to MRR and also to produce optimum parameter values. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parameters (cutting speed, spindle speed and depth of cut) on MRR and to determine the correct process parameter settings in order to produce optimal MRR on ST 42 steel. The study was conducted using ST 42 steel and using carbide chisels on CNC turning process. The process parameters that will be varied are spindle speed, feeding motion, and infeed depth. The experimental design used was orthogonal matrix L9(33). The repetition is done twice. Furthermore, the optimization of multi-response characteristics is carried out using the S / N Ratio method. From the research results, it was found that in order to reduce the variance of the response simultaneously, the infeed depth had the largest percentage contribution value, which was 46.642%, the spindle speed had a percentage contribution value of 14.362%, and then the feeding motion with a percentage contribution value of -7.548 And to obtain the optimal MRR of the workpiece, the spindle speed is set at 1500 rpm, the feeding motion is set at 0.5 mm / put, and the infeed depth is set at 1 mm. Abstract

Cassava is a multipurpose plant. Apart from being used as a daily snack, cassava is also used as raw material for various industries. Currently, cassava processing technology has varied. One of them is a grating machine. The grating machine is used in order to make cassava into cassava pulp. In this research, the design of a cassava grater machine will be carried out. The design that is carried out focuses on the pulling system in the grated process. The design method used is VDI 2221. The stages in VDI 2221 are clarification of the task, conceptual design, embodiment concept, detailed design. Based on the results of the design carried out, several conclusions can be drawn, namely the chosen concept uses three towing rollers, a gear and a sprocket as a transmission roller pulling motion, while the gap control system uses bolts as the regulator. In addition, after carrying out the loading analysis on the shaft to be used as a towing roll, a roller with a size of Ø20mm can be used because the loading simulation results show that the maximum torsional stress value that occurs is 4.601 N / mm2 which is still much smaller than the value of the permitted torsional stress.

Abstract

The vehicle suspension system is an important part to minimize the vibration of the vehicle caused by road unevenness. The classification of the road surface in this study is based on the classification of road roughness "Good" according to ISO 8606. The analysis of passive suspension system in this research may explain the frequency response which is received by the motorists while driving. The full car model with 1 DOF riders used in this study, simulated by using the numerical simulation software. The frequency response analysis is done on the vertical movement of the driver. Based on the analysis performed, the highest acceleration of 2.375 m / s2 at a frequency of 3.258 Hz. This value indicates the condition of "Uncomfortable" based on the table of ISO 2631. This condition will cause the rider toexperience dizziness, therefore it is strongly advised motorists to avoid frequencies below 7 Hz.

Abstract

Measurement of the damage of elements in bearing can be by measuring the vibration generated in the form of a frequency signal when the pad is rotating. Measurement of vibration on the bearing by using vibration measuring instrument. Damage to the rolling bearing includes damage to the cage, outer ring, inner ring and balls. The rolling bearings used in this study are deep groove ball bearing type 6003 RS with internal diameter (d) = 17 mm, outer diameter (D) = 35 mm, bearing thickness (B) = 10, number of rolling elements (Nb) = 10 pieces, and the diameter of the rolling element (Bd) = 4.75 mm. In the rotation of the bearing (Fr) = 2003 rpm (33.38 Hz) we found the experimental results of bearings that have been damaged in the outer race at 138 Hz frequency, inner race damage at 196 Hz frequency, (ball) at a frequency of 88.8 Hz and cage damage at a frequency of 13.8 Hz.

Abstract

Lathe is a tool that rotates the work-piece about an axis of rotation to perform various operations such as cutting, sanding, knurling, drilling, or deformation, facing, turning, with tools that are applied to the work-piece to create an object with symmetry about that axis. There are several considerations that affect the lathe to work well, especially geometrical deviations that affect the quality degradation of the product in terms of shape and dimensions. One of the wear on the slide-way of the lathe can affect geometric aberrations. This paper discusses the design and manufacture of grinding tools to fix the lathes bed that can erode three slide-way planes in a single process to achieve flatness and square alignment with one another. The research method used is the experimental method by collecting the data needed to design the tool through literature study and direct observation to the lathe, then the data is processed to obtain the specification of the tool that will be designed by design method based on Verien Deutche Ingenieuer (VDI) 222 , the design result is then continued with the machining and fabrication process; before assembling, parts of the auxiliary equipment are tested in accordance with the design function indicator; the last stage is testing the tool as a whole to know the achievement of the tool against a predetermined goal. Based on the results of the grinding experiment on the three slideway planes with a feed depth of 0.03mm, the average flatness and alignment values ??are 0.02mm / 300mm and 0.07mm / 300mm, respectively. Based on the ISO 1708 standard on the tolerance of geometrical deviations, the grinding results have not allowed the tolerance. Still need more research about the influence of wear of grinding wheels to the grinding results.

Abstract

Vehicle suspension system is an important part to minimize the vibration of the vehicle caused by road unevenness. Ideal conditions would be difficult to obtain, especially in rural areas with uneven road conditions. Analysis of passive suspension system in this study is expected to explain the level of comfort in riding Rural Multipurpose Vehicles. Full car modelling with 1 DOF riders used in this study, simulated using numerical simulation software. Excitation roads used in the form of a sinusoidal wave with an amplitude of 0.05 m and a wavelength of 0.5 m. Analysis carried out on the comfort of the vertical acceleration response received driver’s head. Based on the simulation results showed that by using a constant speed between 20-40 km / h, the vehicle will be comfortable driving for more than 2.5 hours.

Abstract

An UMKM (micro, small and medium scale business) in the city of Pangkalpinang, Province of Kep. Bangka Belitung, with the trademark "kebajig Lure", produces metal jigs or artificial/fake bait made of metal. One of the problems in the process of making metal jigs at UMKM is bending the wire on the metal jig, because the bending process uses loop pliers which causes the wire to be made to be non-uniform (where 10 wires, below 50% of the wire deviates from tolerance) so that the stray wire must be repaired first before the metal jig molding process. In addition, the bending time of 1 piece of wire takes about 80 seconds. This study aims to accelerate the metal jig bending process and to obtain a uniform wire with a deviation of ± 0.2 mm. After conducting the survey and initial analysis, the making of tools for bending wire is the solution. In the process of making these tools, the VDI 2222 design method is used, starting from planning, conceptualizing, designing, and finally finishing. Then carried out the process of making tools and testing wire bending. The results of the experiments conducted showed that the uniformity level of the metal jig wire was around 70% and the time required in the 1-wire bending process was ± 10 seconds, with an efficiency of ± 70 seconds from the previous process. And in the metal jig molding process, the wire repaired before the molding process is only about 30%.

Abstract

Analisis kerusakan pada suatu sistem rotating machine yang disebabkan oleh ketidakseimbangan putaran pada rotor (rotor unbalance) menyebabkan  umur pakai mesin tersebut menurun. Meningkatnya biaya pemeliharaan terhadap mesin akan menjadi kendala bagi perusahaan dengan banyaknya waktu berhenti mesin (breakdown maintenance). Salah satu kerusakan yang terjadi diakibatkan unbalance komponen pada mesin. Rotor unbalance yang sering terjadi pada suatu mesin yang berputar (rotating machine) terbagi 3 jenis yakni static unbalance, couple unbalance dan gabung kedua kondisi yakni dynamic unbalance. Rotor unbalance pada mesin yang berputar (rotating machine) mempunyai karakteristik amplitudo getaran yang unik. Nilai amplitudo getaran yang terbesar selalu muncul pada frekuensi putaran 1 kali. Dengan menggunakan alat ukur getaran (vibration meter) mempermudah mendapat nilai vibrasi yang ditimbulkan suatu mesin yang sedang beroperasi. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode eksperimental. Menggunakan alat bantu pengajaran vibrasi yang mempunyai dua rotor. Hasil pengujian yang didapatkan yaitu landasan alat bantu dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan dengan kedataran searah sumbu X sebesar 0,5mm dan Y sebesar 0,1mm. proses balancing pada 2 rotor dapat dilakukan correction weight dan correction run cukup 1 kali. Alat bantu ini dapat digunakan untuk studi eksperimen berbagai penyebaran pemberat (mass) di berbagai sudut di kedua rotor.

Abstract

In the process of raising goats, one of the factors that affect the process of goat growth and development is the availability of feed in the surrounding environment. In an effort to meet this availability, it is necessary to have a food source that is always available and usually comes from plants that exist in nature, such as grass or leaves. The availability of animal feed is not immune from the influence of weather conditions and the level of availability of weeds around it which are needed in large quantities. To deal with this, some farmers use alternative feed sources, one of which has been used is palm fronds and leaves and other organic waste. With the size of the palm frond which is quite large, it is necessary to chop it up so that it can be consumed directly by goats (Latifa S, Anto A, David S, Jeni W, Alexander Y). Of course, manual counting can be done, but it is not very effective and requires a lot of time and energy. Based on these problems, it is necessary to mechanization of the midrib and leaf counting process in order to facilitate the process. The purpose of science and technology for the community in this goat farmer group in general is to improve the quality and capacity of livestock production. In addition, by helping the availability of goat feed through the use of alternative feed sources other than the sources that have been available so far and applying appropriate technology for the process of chopping palm fronds and other organic waste. This machine is capable of chopping palm fronds and leaves with a maximum size of 2 cm. Based on the results of interviews with farmers, this size is a size that can be chewed or processed by goats when eating. Then, through this IbM activity, it is expected to be able to establish cooperation between partners and proposers from educational institutions. Partners can develop their business because the need for animal feed is more fulfilled through animal feed chopper machines, while institutions can directly apply science and technology and apply their knowledge into appropriate technology and can introduce Polmanbabel educational institutions more broadly to the community.
