Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic gives an impact on education field. The face-to-face learning pattern in schools has shifted to distance learning which is carried out online. The implementation of online learning during the pandemic forces a digital transformation in education, causing several problems, two of which are technology and human resources. This article discusses the appropriate online learning strategies to use during a pandemic, especially for synchronous interaction models. Qualitative research with a narrative approach was used to explore teachers' experiences in learning, especially those related to the form of interaction between teachers and students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Active learning was chosen based on the results of observations and literature review through journal articles and proceedings that discuss interactive distance learning methods. Active learning strategies assisted by video conferencing applications that can be applied in online learning in elementary schools include: the use of Student Response Systems; Think Pair Share; One Minute Paper; Small Group Discussion; and Short Student Presentations.

Abstract

Many studies empirically discuss the use of technology in overcoming pandemics in education. Generally, research discusses the use of technology in online teaching and learning activities. When viewed from the information technology layer, these studies focus on discussing the use of the software layer. This study examines conceptually about the utilization of the hardware layer in information technology, especially Internet of Things infrastructure which is used to help the community in carrying out their daily activities in the new normal era. Conceptual ideas are applied by taking a case study in education, especially in the elementary school environment. The urgency is that there are many stakeholders in the elementary school environment, especially children who need extra attention and supervision in carrying out post-pandemic activities outside the house. These stakeholders are a group at risk of being exposed to the virus because the majority have not received protection in the form of vaccination and the level of adherence to health protocols is low. This creates a risk for vulnerable groups, namely children, families, and teachers. It is necessary to integrate cyber physical systems that help minimize these risks. This conceptual idea describes the concept of IoT technology to minimize the risk of virus transmission and the strategies that allow it to be applied in the elementary school environment. With a top-down approach, it describes how the IoT system protects children and teachers from going to school, doing activities in the school environment, participating in learning in class, to completing learning.

Abstract

This service activity aims to improve creative writing skills with character education for elementary school teachers through face-to-face and virtual training. The participatory method was used in this training to stimulate teachers to be active in practicing poetry writing both in theory and practice. Face-to-face meetings were held twice for theoretical training, while virtual meetings were held for practical training in writing poetry and presenting it. Based on the results of scoring the ability to write poetry in the posttest session, the classical ability in writing poetry was 84.90%, where at the pretest stage it was 70.79%. The results show that poetry writing training containing character education through a mixed face-to-face and virtual method (Hybrid Learning) is able to improve the ability of elementary school teachers in writing creative poetry types. The improvement in the poetry writing skills of the participants was seen in all aspects of writing poetry, including themes and meanings, the power of imagination, accuracy of diction, and the message.

Abstract

Success in the learning process in elementary schools can be seen from the active participation of students in conveying their ideas and feelings through good speaking skills. The low speaking ability of students in elementary schools hurts the quality of learning. Therefore, learning media is needed to improve students' speaking skills, using interactive picture and picture learning media based on storyline articulation. This study aims to create learning media that can improve the speaking skills of elementary school students. This research is a research and development (RnD) with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were teachers and students of grade 3 elementary school. Data collection techniques were carried out using documentation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis technique and quantitative analysis. The results of the study obtained valid, practical. Effective learning media with an excellent validity level, namely 92% and 90.90% for materials and media, the practicality level of students and teachers was 82.5%; 85% and 82.5%; 90% with a convenient category and has an effect that can be seen from the Z count of -3.411 with Asymp. Sig 0.001 of 12 and 15 students from the limited group and the broad group who took the test and had a pretest average of 68.4 and got a post-test average of 83.4. Thus, this media can improve the speaking skills of elementary school children.

Abstract

Poetry can be an integrative media for character education in learning in elementary schools. However, the important role of poetry has not been matched by the results of writing poetry in elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the ability of preservice elementary teacher ability in poetry writing containing character education with local wisdom persepective. Mix method research approach is used with research design is triangulation design. The research subjects were 35 students of the elementary school teacher education program. The data were obtained through the technique of writing poetry tests and interviews. The analysis of the test used aspects of poetry writing skills. The research findings provide views that students have been able to write poetry with their own imagination, include the meaning of poetry, the advice, and are able to integrate character values with local wisdom. Mastery of the diction aspect is the lowest among other aspects that need to be improved. Recommendations of this research to educators and future research as a review for developing effective Indonesian language learning in the elementary school teacher education program, especially in productive language skills, namely creative writing with character education and local wisdom.

Abstract

Poetry raises about various problems that occur in human life, one of them is the environmental problem. Certain poems contain dictions that present the message of environmental wisdom. Every word in a poem has the power of meaning that can be interpreted through the word itself or in other words in a line and stanza of the poem. An in-depth study through a semiotic approach in this study was conducted to reveal the meaning of words that indicate symbols of natural environmental wisdom. Poetry analysis procedure with semiotic approach. The results showed that Arif Hidayat's poems contained messages of wisdom in the natural environment. Among them, nature as a source of life, the unity of life between nature and humans, messages of love for the environment, the obligation of humans to protect nature, humans who need to love nature again, and the command to protect the environment as part of human faith in God. AbstrakPuisi mengangkat berbagai persoalan yang berkembang dalam kehidupan manusia, salah satunya adalah persoalan lingkungan alam. Puisi-puisi tertentu memuat diksi-diksi yang mempresentasikan pesan kearifan lingkungan. Setiap kata dalam sebuah puisi memiliki kekuatan makna yang dapat diinterpretasi baik melalui kata itu sendiri maupun dengan kata lain dalam satu baris dan bait puisi. Kajian mendalam melalui pendekatan semiotika dalam penelitian ini dilakukan untuk  mengungkap makna kata yang menunjukkan simbol kearifan lingkungan alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap pesan kearifan lingkungan dalam buku kumpulan puisi Air Mata Manggar karya Arif Hidayat yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pembacanya sebagai bentuk refleksi diri agar lebih bijak terhadap lingkungannya. Prosedur analisis puisi dengan pendekatan semiotika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa puisi-puisi Arif Hidayat memuat pesan-pesan kearifan lingkungan alam. Di antaranya, alam sebagai sumber kehidupan, kesatuan hidup antara alam dan manusia, pesan cinta lingkungan, kewajiban manusia menjaga alam, manusia yang perlu kembali mencintai alam, dan perintah menjaga lingkungan sebagai bagian dari iman manusia kepada Tuhan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk menemukan hubungan antara sastra dengan unsur-unsur sosial, khususnya fenomena mental illness dengan berlandaskan pada pendekatan sosiologi sastra Ian Watt. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra Ian Watt dan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian novel berjudul 00.00 karya Ameylia Falensia. Pendekatan sosiologi sastra Ian Watt dipilih berdasarkan pada pertimbangan mengenai aspek-aspek yang ada dalam teori tersebut lebih efektif dan efisien serta mampu melihat hubungan yang timbal balik yang tidak dapat dipisahkan antara sastrawan, sastra, dan masyarakat. Hasil temuan pada penelitian ini yaitu, Pertama, dalam konteks sosial pengarang, novel 00.00 mempresentasikan fenomena dalam masyarakat yang menjadi bagian dari fragmen penting dalam karya sastra novel 00.00. Isu mental illness digambarkan dengan detail. Pengarang memiliki pengetahuan yang lengkap tentang fenomena mental ilnes generasi milenial. Kedua, cerminan masyarakat mengenai fenomena sosial berupa perilaku tidak baik yang terjadi di lingkungan keluarga tokoh, kasus bullying di sekolah, dan ketidakadilan, dengan sajian fakta pendukung dari cerminan masyarakat tersebut. Ketiga, dalam ranah fungsi sosialnya, novel 00.00 berupaya memberika pemahaman tentang pentingnya mental illness bagi masyarakat. Khususnya generasi muda yang mengalami depresi atau kecemasan yang berasal dari lingkungan ataupun perlakuan buruk yang didapatkan di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konten dalam majalah Bobo edisi 2021 yang dapat mengembankan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sekolah dasar. UNESCO menetapkan kompetensi untuk hidup pada abad 21 yaitu salah satunya adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis. Untuk itu, komponen berpikir kritis menjadi penting untuk dikembangkan sejak dini. Indicator kemampuan berpikir kritis yang terkandung dalam rubrik pengetahuan Majalah Bobo edisi bulan juni 2021. Indikator berpikir kritis yang dimaksud merupakan indikator modifikasi yaitu merumuskan masalah, memberikan argumen, membuat premis dan menarik kesimpulan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis konten. Objek penelitiannya yaitu rubrik pengetahuan yang terdapat dalam Majalah Bobo edisi 10,11,12 dan 13 bulan juni 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar analisis dokumen yang disusun berdasarkan landasan teori tentang indikator berpikir kritis. Teknik analisis data dimulai dengan data yang sudah dikumpulkan, direduksi, dideskripsikan, diinterpretasikan, dianalisis, kemudian disimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rubrik pengetahuan dari Majalah Bobo edisi bulan juni 2021 memuat pengetahuan tentang energy listrik dari sampah memenuhi 3 indikator, cara hewan berkamuflase memenuhi 4 indikator, sejarah singkat patung di Jakarta memenuhi 3 indikator dan terowongan panjang di dunia memenuhi 2 indikator. Bahan bacaan pada rubrik pengetahuan memenuhi empat indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu merumuskan masalah, memberikan argument, membuat premis dan menarik kesimpulan. Terlihat setelah membaca kritis peserta didik dapat menyerap informasi 5W+1H yang ada pada bacaan rubric pengetahuan. Muatan rubrik pengetahuan ini cocok untuk membangun kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan menjadikan rubrik pengetahuan sebagai bahan ajar pendamping pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is to find out the moral and cultural values and the form of conveying the values in folklore in the  4th grade elementary school 8th theme student book. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The researcher used the object of the research on folklore in the in the  4th grade elementary school 8th theme student book. The data collection technique used is content analysis. The validity test used is triangulation theory, and time. Data analysis in this study uses the Miles & Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of research on moral values consist of 4 forms, namely those that show human relationships with oneself, others, God, and nature. The most common forms of moral values are courage, mutual help, and compassion. The results of the study of cultural values consist of 5 forms, namely those that show the relationship between humans and God, society, other people, oneself, and nature. The most common forms of cultural values are love and help. The intersection of moral values and cultural values in this study is compassion, caring for others or helpers, helping or helping each other, helping each other or mutual cooperation, and caring for or preserving nature. The form of delivery of moral values and cultural values is presented directly and indirectly. The moral values and cultural values contained in this folklore can be used as an alternative to inculcating student character values through stories in student books.

Abstract

Manusia dan alam semesta memiliki hubungan yang sangat erat. Kualitas hidup manusia di masa depan sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas lingkungan saat ini. Untuk itu, manusia perlu menjaga dan melestarikan alam semesta. Pengetahuan cinta lingkungan harus dimiliki sejak dini. Anak-anak dapat memperoleh pengetahuan tersebut melalui cerita anak yang dibaca atau didengarnya. Penelitain terhadap cerita anak yang memuat pesan cinta lingkungan sangat diperlukan. Hasil studi pustaka dengan teknik analisis isi terhadap fabel Anak Tupai yang Jera dan Kisah Lainnya Yudhistira Ikranegara menunjukkan bahwa, cerita-cerita tersebut menyajikan sumber literasi ekologi. Hasil penelitian akan diperoleh muatan ekologis dari sumber literasi ekologi cerita seri dongeng fabel berdasarkan pembelajaran sastra yang relevan untuk sekolah dasar jika sesuai dengan pembelajaran sastra sekolah dasar. Analisis sumber literasi memuat deskripsi lingkungan dan alam semesta yang dapat dikaitkan dalam pembelajaran siswa sekolah dasar.
