Abstract

Meningkatnya permintaan pasar akan pendidikan yang berkelanjutan namun dapat dilakukan dengan efektif dan efisien merupakan prioritas penting saat ini bagi perguruan tinggi dan mengakibatkan STMIK - STIE Mikroskil harus menetapkan strategi bisnis yang sesuai untuk memenuhi permintaan tersebut. Penetapan strategi bisnis ini berhubungan erat dengan strategi SI/ TI dimana penerapannya dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan penerapan pembelajaran jarak jauh dengan pemanfaatan penuh SI/ TI. Salah satu faktor yang telah diidentifikasi sebagai isu manajemen kritis adalah perencanaan strategis sistem informasi. Hal ini dianggap oleh banyak orang sebagai mekanisme terbaik untuk memastikan bahwa aktivitas SI/TI sesuai dengan aktivitas organisasi lainnya dan kebutuhannya yang terus berkembang. Perencanaan strategis sistem informasi yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah berdasarkan kerangka Ward & Peppard (2002) yang mencakup metode dan teori analisis: value chain perusahaan, SWOT, analisis IT BSC, infrastruktur sistem, dan portofolio aplikasi.

Abstract

Indonesia has fertile soil, natural resources and abundant marine resources. However, Indonesia is also not immune to the risk of natural disasters which are a series of events that disturb and threaten life safety and cause material and non-material losses. Indonesia's strategic geological location causes Indonesia to be frequently hit by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other natural disasters. From the data collected, natural disasters that occurred in Indonesia consisted of several categories, namely earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, landslides, tornados, and tsunamis. Many natural disasters in Indonesia have caused casualties, both fatalities and injuries, destroying the surrounding area and destroying infrastructure and causing property losses. The trend of increasing incidence of natural disasters needs to be further investigated to prevent the number of victims from increasing. This information can be obtained through a data mining approach given the large amount of data available. In relation to natural disaster data, clustering techniques in data mining are very useful for grouping natural disaster data based on the same characteristics so that the data can be adopted as a groundwork for predicting natural disaster events in the future. Thus, this research is supposed to group natural disaster data using clustering techniques using the k-means algorithm into several groups, in terms of natural disaster types, time of disaster, number of victims, and damage to various facilities as a result of natural disasters

Abstract

Evaluation of interface design is part of human and computer interaction (HCI-Human Computer Interaction). The focus of this study is to conduct heuristic evaluations on the interface design of an academic portal to determine the extent to which the academic portal meets the concept of usability. Academic portal is a website accessed by academics through a web browser. This portal can be accessed by students, lecturers, academic supervisors, Final Project supervisors, and other academics such as: Academic Administration Section (BAA), Study Programs, Libraries, Student Affairs, and Public Administration and Personnel Section (BAUK). This study uses heuristic evaluation as an approach in evaluating a human-machine system (man-machine system) in relation to academic portal ease of use (usability) and also severity ratings in addition to heuristic checklist.  This study involved several evaluators who would conduct an assessment by filling in the heuristic checklist. The expected results with the evaluator's heuristic evaluation method found usability problems related to the general interface. These results are expected to be used by Mikroskil's academic portal system developers to make improvements to the academic portal currently in use

Abstract

The learning from home (home-based learning) and working from home (work from home) policy which has been going on for more than 1 year since March 2020 after being set by the Minister of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) has brought many changes in the way to work and study for the academic community, especially students and lecturers. This is also felt by the academic community at STMIK Mikroskil, especially in Information Systems study program who changes their learning from offline to online by utilize various available application platforms such as Microsoft Teams and the Zoom application, especially for its video conferencing features as audio-visual media. With the use of both communication platforms in online learning activities, it is necessary to evaluate its user experience as information to support decision making in order to improve learning management and academic activities in university environment. However, this evaluation activity has never been carried out for the two applications that being used. This study aims to measure the user experience of Microsoft Teams and the Zoom application, especially for its video conference to support the lecturers and students in Information Systems Study Program at STMIK Mikroskil. This measurement is intended to predict and compare the ability of technology elements in the form of user experience of those two applications through an analytical study by applying the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) method. The target respondents are lecturers and students, especially in the Information Systems study program in the STMIK Mikroskil environment. The results showed that the comparison of the Microsoft Teams means value was superior to the Zoom application. Therefore, Microsoft Teams is a video conferencing and communication platform that is preferred by students and academics of the STMIK Mikroskil Information Systems study program compared to the Zoom application

Abstract

This study aims to measure and evaluate the user experience of the Microsoft Teams application as a learning and video conferencing platform using the UEQ+ framework, which is the development of the UEQ method. Through the UEQ+ framework, questionnaires can be designed by customizing user experience variables according to the application to be measured, thus the research results are expected to be more accurate and relevant. The scale of user experience measured in this questionnaire includes: efficiency, perspicuity, dependability, trust, usefulness, intuitive use, trustworthiness of content, quality of content, and clarity. After the questionnaires were distributed, 149 data were obtained which could be processed using data processing tools which being provided by UEQ+ called Data Analysis Tools. In conclusion, respondents have positive impression of Microsoft Teams as a video conferencing application and learning platform. The most important scale that represents the quality of Microsoft Teams is usefulness, clarity, trustworthiness of content, and quality of content.

Abstract

Abstract: Sinar Jaya store is a store that sells fire extinguishers in Medan city. In majority, this store still serves transactions by accepting customer to the store directly. Since the COVID-19 pandemic has lasted for so long, this store has begun to explore technology by utilizing Instagram as social media and having a website which can be accessed via www.sinarjayamedan.com as a medium to introduce the store, market the products digitally and increase business legitimacy. However, existing web pages must be optimized further to improve the ability of Toko Sinar Jaya in response to marketing needs. The measurement results using 2 (two) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) measurement websites show an average score of 61,5 out of a scale of 100. Thus, this community service activity is aimed at increasing this SEO score. SEO activities are carried out by using the on-page SEO method on existing web pages and continued with Content Management training for off-page SEO implementation. On-page SEO is carried out with activities including the installation of the Yoast SEO plugin, keyword research, visibility and permalink settings, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, sitemap generator and schema markup. The SEO score then increased significantly from 61,5 to 74,5.            Keywords: inbound marketing; micro, small and medium enterprise; search engine optimization (SEO)  Abstrak: Toko Sinar Jaya merupakan toko yang menjual alat-alat pemadam kebakaran di kota Medan. Secara mayoritas, toko ini masih melayani transaksi langsung dengan menerima kedatangan pelanggan ke toko. Sejak pandemi COVID-19 yang berlangsung telah begitu lama, toko ini mulai mengeksplorasi teknologi dengan memanfaatkan media sosial Instagram dan memiliki website yang bisa diakses lewat www.sinarjayamedan.com sebagai media untuk memperkenalkan toko, memasarkan produk secara digital dan meningkatkan legitimasi bisnis. Namun demikian, laman web yang ada harus dioptimalkan lagi untuk lebih meningkatkan kemampuan Toko Sinar Jaya dalam menjawab kebutuhan pemasaran. Hasil pengukuran menggunakan 2 (dua) website pengukuran Search Engine Optimization (SEO) masih menunjukkan rata-rata skor 61,5 dari skala 100. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan skor SEO ini. Kegiatan SEO dilakukan secara on-page terhadap laman web dan dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan Content Management untuk implementasi SEO secara off-page. SEO on-page dilakukan dengan kegiatan meliputi Instalasi plugin Yoast SEO, keyword research, visibility and permalink setting, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, sitemap generator dan schema markup. Skor SEO kemudian meningkat dengan cukup signifikan dari angka 61,5 menjadi 74,5. Kata kunci: inbound marketing; search engine optimization (SEO); usaha mikro, kecil dan menengah (UMKM)

Abstract

Salon is a form of business associated with beauty care, face, hair, and others for both men and women. Salon became the type of business in the interest of business by utilizing social networking, ads, brochures, and websites to promote the salon. E-salon is a marketplace website which facilitates the salon in terms of delivery the salon promotion and salon service sales. Salon provides a salon service to come home and can open many new jobs. To solve this problem, a website was developed using programming language such as HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap 3, and PHP, and using MySQL or known as MariaDB for data storage. The website was developed using Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology approach. The result of this website development is able to assist the salon in terms of promotion and sales of salon services, create new jobs, and make it easier for customers to find their desired salon.Keywords: salon, website, Rapid Application Development (RAD), marketplace

Abstract

The NUFARM application is a mobile application that delivers online aquaculture management services for aquaculture cultivators by providing information / news about aquaculture, cultivated organism’s growth monitoring by delivering real-time information about cultivation condition, and providing a marketplace for buying and selling transactions for business entrepreneurs or aquaculture cultivators. several problems have been found in the aquaculture industry which is comprise of the lack of reliable information sources on aquaculture management, the unavailability of media that able to assist farmers on accessing information about the place’s conditions and organisms that being cultivated, there is no place for buying and selling transactions specialized on aquaculture for farmers. entrepreneur in the aquaculture business sector. The application design provides various online aquaculture management services which are manifested in the several main features. NUMonitor which provides information about the condition of the organism in real-time (in the form of temperature, dissolved oxygen levels, and pH) for the user. NUFeed which able to feed organisms with variety of settings which is able to be scheduled, automatic feeding and manual feeding. NUPeep which is a camera sensor that able to display organism condition to the user visually. NULight as an additional feature with its function for adjusting the illumination level of for example the aquarium lights. NUShop that serves a place for trading transactions for cultivated organisms and their equipment. As well as the NUpdate feature that able to provide the latest information / news about aquaculture along with tips and tricks for aquaculture management. Abstract

This community service activity aims to produce learning content which is adapted to the thematic learning concepts applied in TK Santo Yoseph Medan. The learning content for TK Santo Yoseph Medan will be provided in several short videos to elaborate the learning materials according to Natural Science theme. Video is divided into several short videos that are customed to fit the children's interest where each content contains colour images, animations, and brief information according to school material. These videos as the results of this community service activity helps TK Santo Yoseph Medan on improving the learning services by providing quality content for kindergarten students.

Abstract

Perkembangan era digital ini melalui adanya pembuatan konten digital ini sangat berperan penting untuk proses penyebaran informasi secara real-time. Pelatihan pengabdian terhadap pembuatan konten digital ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan pembekalan pengetahuan tentang profil SMA Panglima Polem RantauPrapat. Adapun metode pengabdian ini dilakukan yang dimulai dari persiapan dan penyusunan materi, proses pelaksanaan pelatihan sampai proses monitoring dan evaluasi hasil pelatihan. Selain itu, adapun metode pengukuran yang digunakan berupa pengolahan data kuesioner lewat pre-test dan post-test. Pembuatan konten digital ini dipraktikkan dengan pemanfaatan fitur-fitur dalam aplikasi Sparkol VideoScribe. Setelah kegiatan pengabdian, terdapat peserta pelatihan yang sangat mengerti pembuatan konten digital dalam bentuk video animasi. Dari hasil pengolahan data kuesioner, rata-rata peserta pelatihan belum pernah mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan sejenis tersebut dengan nilai berkisar range 1 sampai 2. Hasil pengolahan data kuesioner setelah kegiatan pelatihan didapatkan nilai range berkisar 3 sampai 5. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil diimplementasikan sehingga para peserta mudah memahami dan mendistribusikan konten digital yang lebih baik. Selain itu, program pengabdian ini direkomendasikan untuk pengembangan materi pelatihan lebih lanjut.
