Abstract

This research is aimed to find out the method of bio activator process and the best basic material used to produce a good qualified POC. This research was done in integrated laboratory of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto from April 2013 to August 2013.This research used A Complete Randomized Design with two factors. The first factor was the three kinds of bio activator like decayed banana leg method (A1), bio activator method of fruit and red onion (A2) and bio activator method of stratified water rice (A3). The second factor was three kids of organic waste as the basic material to make the Liquid Organic Fertilizer such as organic waste (B1) manure (B2). Every treatment was done for three times.The result of the research showed that bio activator, organic waste, and bio activator interaction as well as organic waste in fermentation process did not really affect on the weather variable and the pH of Liquid Organic Fertilizer. The result also showed that LiquidOrganic Fertilizer, based on the standard quality by the minister of agriculture regulation Number.28/Permentan/OT.140/2/2009, contained of total N, total P2O5, total K2O in every treatment, and the content of ratio C/N and organic C did not meet the standard quality by the minister of agriculture regulation Number. 28/Permentan/OT.140/2/2009.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the source organ performance of two spinach varieties in some planting media variation of charcoal husk. Research conducted at the Green House of Agricultural Faculty of Muhammadiyah University for four months starting in May-August 2012. The research was arrangged by Randomized Completely Block Design and each treatment was repeated three times. The study consisted of two factors: First, the varieties of spinach (V), consists of two varieties of the Maestro (V1) and Bisi (V2). Second, the addition of charcoal husk (A), consisting of A0 (without a charcoal husk / soil media only), A1 (given the husk charcoal at 25%), A2 (husk charcoal as much as 50%) and A3 (husk charcoal in 75%). The results showed that there was no difference between the source organ performance Maestro spinach varieties with varieties Bisi, husk charcoal dose needs to be added to spinach plants have best performance of source organs is 25% media volume, although this is not significantly different with only soil media and there was no significant interaction between type of spinach with a dose of charcoal husk of source organ performance of Maestro and Bisi spinach varieties.

Abstract

IbM program aimed at improving capability and skill of cadres and PKK members of RW 12 and 13 Karangklesem village in optimalizing narrow-land area in their neighbourhood through improving capability and skill on verticulture technology mastery on organic vegetables from the making of organic fertilizer, biological pesticide, seed seedling, planting media, planting, plant treatment, harvesting and post harvesting, and capability of vegetables (agribusiness) entrepreneurship. The next aim was to handle the household waste, to create beautiful, green, and aesthetic environment, and to earn additional income for the cadres and PKK members of RW 12 and 13 from their organic vegetable sales.The method used in this IbM program was training and direct practice, assisting, fostering, and partnership with the cadres and PKK members of RW 12 and 13 at Karangklesem village.Utilization of narrow-land area has been conducted around RW 12 and 13 at Karangklesem village by conducting the following activities: (1) Bioactivator making and liquid organic fertilizer and compost  training. The results were 20 liters bioactivator, 200 liters liquid organic fertilizer, and 750 kilograms compost, (2) the technique of making biological pesticide training; the result was 200 liters of biological pesticide, (3) organic vegetable virticultur technique training; the result was 47 sets of organic vegetables in verticulture system, (4) post-harvesting technique of organic vegetables, and (5) entrepreneurship training covering the training of book keeping, business analysis of verticulture organic vegetable and marketing management.The conclusion of this IbM program was that there was an improvement on capability and skill of the cadres and PKK members  of RW 12 and 13 Karangklesem village in mastering the verticulture technology of organic vegetables from the making of bioactivator, liquid organic fertilizer, compost, biological pesticide, seed seedling, planting media, planting and plant treatment, harvesting and post-harvesting treatment, and organic vegetable entrepreneurship

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji potensi pengembangan agrowisata di Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Metode observasi digunakan untuk mengamati potensi agrowisata di Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menjelaskan potensi internal dan eksternal agrowisata di Desa Sambirata. Data penelitian berupa data primer yang diperoleh langsung dari pengamatan di lapangan, meliputi data potensi internal dan eksternal agrowisata di Desa Sambirata. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan metode observasi dan studi pustaka Analisis data menggunakan matching data untuk menilai potensi internal dan eksternal agrowisata berdasarkan Rencana Induk Pembangunan Pariwisata Daerah (RIPPDA). Potensi internal meliputi data daya tarik wisata (attraction) dan fasilitas wisata (amenities), sedangkan potensi eksternal meliputi aksesibilitas wisata (accesability) dan pelayanan tambahan (ancilliary). Selanjutnya dari hasil matching data dikategorikan menjadi tiga kriteria yaitu rendah, sedang dan tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi agrowisata di Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya potensi agrowisata Desa Sambirata adalah fasilitas wisata (amenities), aksesibilitas (accesability) dan pelayanan penunjang wisata (ancillary).

Abstract

Kegiatan budidaya pertanian masyarakat di Desa Sambirata belum menerapkan teknologi pertanian organik. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat Desa Sambirata mengenai teknologi budidaya pertanian organik di Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas. Kelompok mitra sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah anggota kelompok tani di Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat menggunakan metode aktif interaktif melalui kegiatan penyuluhan. Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat meliputi sosialisasi program, penyuluhan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan anggota kelompok tani di Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas mengenai teknologi budidaya pertanian organik yang ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

One of the bacterial diseases that often attack freshwater fish is the red-sore disease, also known as aeromoniasis or Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS). It is caused by bacteria from Aeromonas genus, such as Aeromonas hydrophila. A safe alternative treatment for pathogenic bacteria is the use of antibacterial compounds made from natural ingredients. The Excoecaria agallocha mangrove extract is one of potential alternatives that is useful as natural antimicrobials due to its various contents of antibacterial bioactive compounds. The objective of this study was to determine the antimicrobial activity of E. agallocha mangrove extract in inhibiting the growth of A. hydrophila. The research method was experimental with complete randomized design and factorial pattern of 3 factors (type of plant organ, bacterial strain, and concentration of extract), in 48 treatments and 3 replications. The solvents used consisted of methanol (polar) and n-hexane (non-polar). The plant organs used included leaves and stems. The bacterial strains consisted of GPl-04, GB-01, GL-01, GL-02, GJ-01, and GK-01 with concentrations of leaves and stems extracts of 0, 10, 20, and 30%. The parameter measured was the diameter of inhibition zone, which was done by using disc paper (Kirby Bauer method). Non-parametric Kruskall-Wallis Test and qualitative-descriptive data analysis were applied. The methanol extract of E. agallocha leaves in GJ-01 strain at 10 and 20% concentrations had antimicrobial activity with inhibition zone in 2.55 mm and 2.46 mm, respectively. The n-hexane extract of E. agallocha stem at 20 and 30% concentrations had antimicrobial activity with inhibition zones of 1.88 mm in GPl-04 strain and 1.58 mm in GB-01 strain, respectively. Extract of E. agallocha mangrove exhibited potential as a natural antibacterial to prevent aeromoniasis in fish.

Abstract

Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah Kelompok Tani Mlethek Srengenge Desa Tinggarjaya, Kecamatan Jatilawang, Kabupaten Banyumas. Kelompok Tani Mlethek Srengenge mempunyai kegiatan utama budidaya pertanian, namun belum menggunakan pupuk organik dalam budidaya pertanian. Kelompok Tani Mlethek Srengenge masih menggunakan pupuk kimia dalam kegiatan budidaya pertanian. Hal ini disebabkan karena terbatasnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan Kelompok Tani Mlethek Srengenge dalam pembuatan pupuk organik berbahan baku kotoran ternak sapi.Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan Kelompok Tani Mlethek Srengenge dalam pembuatan pupuk organik untuk mendukung pertanian organik di Desa Tinggarjaya, Kecamatan Jatilawang, Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan cara alih teknologi berbasis penerapan hasil penelitian kepada mitra sasaran. Sedangkan metode pendekatan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah partisipasi aktif, yaitu kegiatan yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif mitra dalam seluruh kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini meliputi sosialisasi program, pelatihan, praktik langsung pembuatan pupuk organik padat dan cair, dan pendampingan, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota kelompok tani Mlethek Srengenge Desa Tinggarjaya, Kecamatan Jatilawang, Kabupaten Banyumas dalam pembuatan pupuk organik padat dan cair berbahan baku kotoran ternak sapi secara mandiri.

Abstract

Agrowisata berbasis masyarakat merupakan program wisata yang memanfaatkan potensi alam dan budaya, serta dukungan masyarakat lokal dalam menjalankan program-program kegiatan wisata. Agrowisata menjadi salah satu alternatif pariwisata berkelanjutan yang bertujuan memperluas pengetahuan, pengalaman, rekreasi dan hubungan usaha di bidang pertanian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan strategi pengembangan agrowisata berbasis masyarakat di Desa Sambirata, Kecamatan Cilongok, Kabupaten Banyumas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah perangkat desa, kelompok sadar wisata (Pokdarwis), dan masyarakat Desa Sambirata. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian meliputi data potensi agrowisata dan faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pengembangan agrowisata di Desa Sambirata. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan metode observasi dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data hasil observasi dan FGD dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif untuk menjelaskan potensi agrowisata dan faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pengembangan agrowisata di Desa Sambirata. Selanjutnya data hasil penelitian dianalisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). Hasil analisis SWOT digunakan untuk memberikan rekomendasi dalam menentukan strategi pengembangan agrowisata berbasis masyarakat di Desa Sambirata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa strategi pengembangan agrowisata berbasis masyarakat di Desa Sambirata Kecamatan Cilongok Kabupaten Banyumas, adalah 1) menyelenggarakan penyuluhan dan pelatihan dasar mengenai pengelolaan dan pengembangan agrowisata; 2) mengembangkan potensi lahan pertanian dan hutan menjadi zona agrowisata; 3) mengembangkan jaringan kerjasama kemitraan dengan pelaku industri pariwisata dan lembaga/dinas terkait untuk mempromosikan dan mengembangkan destinasi agrowisata; 4) mengembangkan website dan media promosi agrowisata berbasis masyarakat; dan 5) meningkatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam pengembangan inovasi produk agrowisata.
