Abstract

Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak usia sekolah harus optimal seperti pemberian nutrisi dengan kualitas dan kuantitas yang baik serta benar, bila tidak benar dapat mengakibatkan gangguan pada banyak organ tubuh anak usia sekolah. Cara efektif yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan promosi kesehatan mengenai jajanan sehat dan bahaya junk food. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dimaksudkan kepada orang tua dan sekolah untuk mengurangi paparan anak sekolah terhadap makanan jajanan yang tidak sehat dan tidak aman. Kegiatan promosi kesehatan di SD Muhammadiyah I Medan dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai Agustus menggunakan metode digital yang disampaikan melalui Whatsapp group, dilakukan pre dan postest kemudian pemaparan dengan menggunakan media leaflet, video dan diikuti dengan diskusi. Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap orangtua dan sekolah dalam makanan sehat dan bahaya junk food.

Abstract

Masalah penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perubahan intensi perilaku apa saja berkaitan pada remaja dimasa pandemic covid 19. Tujuan dari penelitian mengetahui sikap dan tindakan remaja dalam pemeliharaan kesehatan dimasa pandemic covid-19 di Kota Medan. Metode Penelitian adalah metode peneltian Deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel 65 orang remaja yang berusia, 9-19 Tahun dengan desain random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah koesioner, Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Uji Deskriptif. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah sikap remaja dan tindakan remaja dalam pemelihaaan kesehatan memiliki menunjukkan korelasi yang kuat antara variabel tingkat sikap dan pengetahuan yang arah nya bersifat positif yang artinya semakin baik sikap remaja tentang COVID-19 maka semakin positif tindakan remaja dalam menerapkan perilaku kesehatan di masa pandemi COVID-19.

Abstract

The school age is a critical period, because at this time infectious diseases often occur in children. The incidence of infectious diseases in children is increasing which will have an impact on the growth and physical development of children. The role of mother is very important such as in the implementation of health services for children and families in order to make efforts to prevent infectious diseases in children. The purpose of training and mentoring activities by forming a CEHATI (Smart, Healthy and Active) family can increase the knowledge and skills of mothers in efforts to maintain children's health at home. The method of implementing community service activities is carried out by providing education, training and assistance to 50 housewives groups. Education is carried out by providing health education about disease problems in children, PHBS and Handling the Risk of Injury to children, followed by simulation and training on handling injuries at home and providing assistance. The results of the implementation of this community service activity showed that the mother's knowledge of infectious diseases and PHBS was in good category (100%), after training and mentoring activities were carried out. The results of the paired t-test before and after being given training and mentoring obtained a p value of 0.000. As a result of this activity, it is hoped that the group of housewives can increase their knowledge and be independent in efforts to maintain children's health so that they are formed into a CEHATI (Smart, Healthy and Active) family.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of clinical leadership (quality of self, collaboration, managing services, improving service quality and setting goals) on the quality of nursing services at the University Hospital of North Sumatra. The method used is a cross-sectional survey of 94 respondents. The results showed that the p-value for the self-quality variable was 0.000, clinical leadership was 0.001 and the variable improved service quality was 0.004 for the quality of nursing services. In conclusion, there is an effect of self-quality, clinical leadership, managing services, improving service quality and setting goals on the quality of nursing services at the University Hospital of North Sumatra. Self-quality is the most influential variable in the quality of nursing services at the University Hospital of North Sumatra. Keywords: Clinical Leadership, Nursing, Quality of Service

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of Hemodialysis patients who have recovered from COVID-19 in Medan City. The research method used is a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. The results of the study revealed six themes, namely 1). Coping Process, 2). Physical State, 3). Health Behavior, 4). Family Role and Support, 5). The Role of Nurses and Medical Actions, 6). Environmental Response to the Condition of Patients Experiencing COVID-19. In conclusion, the experience of Hemodialysis patients who have recovered from COVID-19 shows that while they are being treated in the isolation room, they experience various coping and handling processes that must be by health protocols and continue to undergo hemodialysis. Abstract

This study explores the experiences of nurses who have carried out spiritual care in the COVID-19 isolation room at the University of North Sumatra Hospital. The method used is qualitative research with purposive sampling data collection techniques. The results of the study show that four themes can be used as experiences for nurses in carrying out spiritual care in the COVID-19 isolation room at USU Hospital, namely: 1) Carrying out nursing care according to standard operating procedures for handling COVID-19 patients; 2) Apply the ethical principles of the nursing profession in treating COVID-19 patients; 3) Carry out efforts through collaboration with families in fulfilling the spiritual needs of COVID-19 patients; and 4) Obstacles that hinder the implementation of nursing care for COVID-19 patients. In conclusion, in carrying out nursing care for COVID-19 patients, nurses use the careful nursing theory model. Keywords: Spiritual Care, COVID-19

Abstract

Sleep is a physiological human need. Sleep disorders can affect a person's quality of life. One of the complementary therapies is aromatherapy, which can improve one's sleep quality non-pharmacologically. This study aims to identify the effect of lavender inhalation aromatherapy intervention on sleep quality in cancer patients. The research method used is quantitative or quantitative design with a quasi-experimental design non-equivalent approach. The sampling technique is a non-probability sampling technique, namely the convenience sampling method. Respondents to this study were hospitalized cancer patients totaling 100 respondents consisting of 50 respondents for the intervention group and 50 respondents for the control group. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The sleep quality measurement instrument used is the Sleep Quality Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the dependent t-test and independent t-test. The results of the study found an effect of lavender inhalation aromatherapy on improving sleep quality in cancer patients with a p-value (p=0.000). Conclusion Lavender inhalation aromatherapy can improve sleep quality in cancer patients and is recommended as a nursing intervention and alternative therapy to improve sleep quality in cancer patients. Keyword: Cancer, Lavender Aromatherapy, Sleep quality

Abstract

Quality of life and body image is one of the most important outcomes to monitor in breast cancer patients. A better understanding of the quality of life and body image in women with breast cancer can assist in developing and improving therapeutic and treatment interventions in service delivery and care. This study aims to analyze the relationship between body image and quality of life in breast cancer patients. The research design used was a cross-sectional study. The research sampling technique used total sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 105 respondents. The instrument used to measure body image is the BIS (Body Image Scale) and quality of life using the EORTC QLQ BR-45 instrument (The European Organization For Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire). Data analysis in this study used the Spearman statistical test. The results of this study indicate that 65 respondents (61.9%) have a negative body image and 61 respondents (58.1%) have a moderate quality of life. The Spearman Rank test results obtained a correlation coefficient = 0.626 with a significance p-value = 0.000 <0.05 (significance level). Based on this study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between body image and quality of life in breast cancer patients. It is recommended to room nurses at the H. Adam Malik Medan General Hospital to pay attention to patient feelings by increasing their knowledge of holistic nursing concepts in nursing care and being able to provide information about the patient's condition and condition and provide motivation to breast cancer patients undergoing treatment to patients are more accepting of their body image.Keywords: Body Image, Breast cancer, Quality of life

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the role of drug supervisors (PMOs) on improving the quality of life of tuberculosis patients. This research method is quantitative research with correlation research design with a sample of 40 tuberculosis patients. The sampling technique used purposive sampling according to the inclusion criteria. Data analysis used Chi-Square test. The results showed that 29 people (72.5%) had an active PMO role. The majority of quality of life based on aspects obtained in poor physical health is 33 people (82.5%) and the overall quality of life is good as many as 26 people (65%). Chi-Square statistical test results with an Asym.Sig value of 0.034 <0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between the role of PMO and quality of life. In conclusion, PMO has a very important role in the process of treating TB patients regularly so as to improve the health status and quality of life of patients. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of family support to medication adherence in MDR-TB patients. This research method is descriptive correlation with cross sectional research design. The research sampling technique is total sampling. The results showed that adherence to taking medication in MDR-TB patients was more commonly found in good family support, namely as many as 23 respondents (92.6%), the results of the chi-square test obtained a p-value = 0.000 meaning there was a relationship between family support medication adherence in MDR-TB patients. In conclusion, there is a relationship between family support and medication adherence in MDR TB patients. Keywords: Family Support, Medication Compliance, MDR-TB.
