Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe "Use of Learning Media in Teaching Acepte Indonesian". This type of research is conceptual research. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded 5 things, namely (1) learning media are tools, methods, and techniques used to assist the learning process; (2) the benefits of learning media are to simplify and clarify and make learning more interesting; (3) the function of learning media is as a tool for both teachers and students to achieve targeted learning outcomes; (4) the types of learning media are divided into three, namely media in terms of their nature, in terms of their reach, and in terms of their use; (5) The use of media in teaching Indonesian is related to the material and learning objectives to be achieved, also associated with the availability of facilities and infrastructure in schools or those that can be used by teachers to support an effective and targeted learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan seberapa besar kontribusi minat baca dan penguasaan kosakata secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri I Kuok Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau.Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel total. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa angket dan tes yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data penelitian ini berupa skor yang diubah ke dalam bentuk nilai. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment (PPM), uji korelasi ganda, uji t, uji F, dan rumus koefisien determinan untuk mengetahui besar kontribusi variabel bebassecara bersama-sama terhadap variabel terikat. Hasil penelitian ini adalah minat baca dan penguasaan kosakata secara bersama-sama memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan sebesar 51,8% terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman karena thitung > ttabel atau 26,87 > 3,18. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa minat baca dan penguasaan kosakata secara bersama-sama memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri I Kuok Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

Abstract

This research is aimed at figuring out the students’ difficulties in learning English. Besides, it is also expected that the learning process become more meaningful. Subjects of the research are the enrolled odd semester students in academic year 2017/2018. The data collection method employed documentation, test, observation, and interview. Documentation was used to get the students’ data as the subject of the research, the test was used to get the data on the students’ achievement in learning English, the observation was used to get the objective condition in English learning processes and to expose the factors contribute to the learning process. The interview was used to explore the students’ difficulties in learning English. The students’ difficulties in learning English focused on the ability to speak and to listen. Mastering listening is the most difficult skills to be acquired by the students, it was found that the students’ average score is 58.33 or 84% students cannot answer the question properly. The second problem is mastering speaking skills, it was found that the students’ average score is 61.25 or 50% students cannot answer the question properly. The factors contribute to the students’ difficulties were: (1) the less of English practice;(2) the students were not actively participate in the learning process; (3) the students were passive;(4) The students did not take a note on the students’ explanation; (5) the students were not active in responding the teachers’ question and shares the opinion.

Abstract

Cerita rakyat merupakan buah pikiran warisan leluhur bangsa yang mengandung bermacam-macam pesan. Begitu pula dengan cerita rakyat Riau yang memiliki ciri melayu, tentu juga memiliki pesan atau nilai-nilai pendidikan yang akan diwariskan pada generasi penerus bangsa. Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter ini nantinya dapat diterapkan oleh masyarakat Riau khususnya, dan masyarakat daerah lain umumnya agar terbentuk karakter yang baik. Penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif ini digunakan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam cerita rakyat Riau dan nilai-nilai yang dominan dalam cerita tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam bentuk teks dianalisis sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian dengan triangulasi sebagai teknik pengabsahan data. Berdasarkan hasil analisis nilai-nilai karakter cerita rakyat Riau, yaitu nilai religius, jujur, kerja keras, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai karakter yang dominan adalah nilai kerja keras.
