Abstract

Malapari (Pongamia pinnata (L.) Pierre) is an oil-producing plant which has the potential for biodiesel feedstock. This becomes a reason that Malapari plants need to be developed and cultivated. Malapari grow naturally in lowland forests on calcareous soils, rocks on the beach, along the edge of the mangroves and along stream and river tides. This study aims to determine the characteristics of Malapari and relationship between the two accessions grown in North Bali (Pemaron, Uma Anyar, Kalisada, Pengulon, Sumber Kelampok) and East Java (Alas Purwo National Park and Baluran National Park) based on morphological characters and oil content. The research was conducted in July-November 2015. The method used in this research was observation of morphological characters as well as the analysis of the oil content of seeds. Relationship among trees that grow in the two accessions was analyzed using Minitab Vis 14. Results showed that there were differences in morphological characteristics, namely the leaves, flowers, fruits, pod and seeds dimension and oil content.  Analysis of relationships among trees at similarity level above 80% classified them into 3 major groups, namely group I Malapari from Uma Anyar village with similarity level of 59,51%, group II Malapari from  Pengulon village with  similarity level of 80,16% and group III  Malapari from  Alas Purwo National Park and 32 other trees from various villages  having similarity level of 84,53%.

Abstract

Anggrek Dendrobium sp. merupakan anggrek yang paling populer untuk tanaman hias pot dan bunga potong. Permintaan dari dalam negeri masih belum terpenuhi, dan masih mengimpor dari negeri tetangga. Salah satu usaha untuk memenuhi permintaan anggrek dalam dan luar negeri yaitu dengan perbanyakan vegetatif dengan menggunakan batang anggrek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ukuran batang dan konsentrasi zat pengatur tumbuh Zeatin terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif anggrek Dendrobium sonia. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada November 2015 hingga Maret 2016 di shade house Puri Candra Asri, Batubulan, Gianyar – Bali. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor yaitu konsentrasi Zeatin (0 mg/L, 0,1 mg/L dan 0,2 mg/L) dan panjang batang (0-10 cm, 10-20 cm dan 20-30 cm. Total ada sembilan kombinasi perlakuan dan masing – masing kombinasi perlakuan terdiri dari 7 ulangan. Data kuantitatif berupa jumlah akar, panjang akar, jumlah tunas, panjang tunas dan jumlah daun pada 16 minggu setelah tanam (MST). Data jumlah akar, panjang akar, panjang tunas dan jumlah daun dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) kemudian ilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Pertumbuhan panjang akar dan jumlah daun terbaik yaitu pada perlakuan Z2B2 (Zeatin 0,1 mg/L + batang 10-20 cm), sedangkan pertumbuhan jumlah akar, jumlah tunas dan panjang tunas terbaik yaitu pada perlakuan Z2B3 (Zeatin 0,1 mg/L + batang 20-30 cm).

Abstract

Teh Rosella merupakan bahan yang dipakai dalam pembuatan lulur karena kandungan antioksidannya baik bagi kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan vitamin C, aktivitas antioksidan dan organoleptik lulur yang dibuat dari teh Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) dengan variasi konsentrasi beras. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Analitik Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian dan Laboratorium Mekanik Tanah Fakultas Teknik Universitas Udayana mulai Mei-Agustus 2018. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 7 kelompok perlakuan. Parameter yang diamati adalah kandungan vitamin C, aktivitas antioksidan dan organoleptik meliputi tekstur, warna, aroma dan kesan lulur Rosella. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kandungan vitamin C dan aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi pada teh rosella dari merek Red Tea Rossela. Hasil penelitian terhadap kandungan vitamin C dan antioksidan tertinggi terdapat pada lulur rosella dengan persentase tepung beras putih 10% dan tepung beras merah 80%. Perbedaan perlakuan lulur berpengaruh nyata terhadap penilaian probandus dilihat dari tekstur, warna dan aroma, sedangkan perbedaan perlakuan lulur tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap penilaian probandus dilihat dari kesan. Abstract

A study on plants species sighted around mangrove information centre ofNgurah Rai Mangrove Forest (Tahura Ngurah Rai), Sothern of Bali province(Indonesia), was undertaken in March 2004. The plants sighted on both sides of themangrove trail were listed. Their potential as ecotour attractions was then identified.Results of the study showed that there were 42 plant species identified aroundmangrove trail of this forest. Twelve mangrove species in this ecosystem may act asmajor attractions to the tourists doing tracking there. Information on protected species,the potential use of plants for humans, such as for animal fodder, medicine, the use inancient Balinese community, in traditional way of life of Balinese which is last untilnow, the use for offering in Hindu’s ceremony may also be interesting for tourists.Some plant species may cause problems to tourists who doing trekking so needprecaution, including on those which cause bleeding and disturbance to humanbreathing.

Abstract

A study on identication of plants species available on Derawan Island, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan has been conducted based on exploration survey around the island between 2002-2005. The plants whicht have observed were then listed on a table, their scientific names wrre recorded, their status (whether being protected or not) were determined, and the benefits or use of the plants were also listed. From this study it can be found 45 species of 30 families. They may bring benefits for the locals as vegetables, source of medicine, providing shady spots, or decorative plants.

Abstract

This research was undertaken in Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, District ofNusa Penida, Klungkung Regency, between 2005-2006. This reserach was aimed to find outthe size of area and the status of mangrove forest, kind of species, as well as problems facedby the forest related to its conservation status. From this research it was revealed that thesize of the area where the mangrove available in Nusa Lembongan was around 212 ha, andthere was also mangrove forest in Nusa Ceningan about 15 ha. There were 13 species offlora available on mangrove ecosystem which were classified as true mangroves, while 9kinds were asociated mangroves. From the field observation it was revealed that there is apossible threat to the mangrove forest if there is no good management strategy. Someactivities which were available on the mangrove forest that were potentially provided impactsto sustainability of the forest, such as the use for anchoring boats and mangrove touractivities.

Abstract

This research aims to know the relationship of kinship in 12 cultivars Broccoli grownin Horticultural Nursery at Kembang Merta village Bedugul Bali. Broccoli leaf samples weretaken from Horticultural Nursery at Kembang Merta village Bedugul Bali. The method usedin this research is by utilizing fresh preparations of upside/downside leaf epidermal incisionor Leaf Clearing method, the incision of the preparations and also the observations werecarried out at the Laboratory of Plant Structure and Development Department of Biology,Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Udayana University. The results showed the existenceof variations in epidermal cells, stomata structure, density and density of stomata on the 12cultivars of Broccoli (Brassica oleracea L.) with the range index of similarity between68,79% - 92,18% and formed the five groups that have different similarity indices in eachgroup.Keywords: anatomy, broccoli (Brassica oleracea L.), similarity index of stomata

Abstract

Indonesia has many variaties of plant which give a benefit for house, clath, meals,medicine even for beauty treatment. A beauty treatment made from chemical agent causing anegative effect, so searching for an alternative agent for beauty treatment without giving anegative side effect was needed. The goal of has research is to know find species of plants,methods of process also how to process the plants become a herbal beauty treatment agent atPuri Damai which located in Singakerta village, district of ubud, Gianyar region. They takedirect observation, description and identification methods. According to the result of theresearch were found 25 species, 19 suku of plants 3 euphorbiaceae, 2 asteraceae, 2araliaceae, 2 zingiberaceae, pandanaceae, asphodelaceae, poaceae, fabaceae, anonaceae,magnoliaceae, arecaceae, laminaceae, malvaceae, cactaceae, oleaceae, apocynaceae,agavaceae, melastomataceae, rutaceae. Hair vertilizer oil mostly was made from the leaf ofthe plant takes around 56% and for massage oil take the flowers around 53 %. The methodswas taken to produce hair vertilizer oil and ingredients was fried in 1 liter frying oil between6 – 8 hours long in little fire. Direction of use for hair vertilizer oil is rubbing the oil on thecalp and hair before is after washing the hair. The use of massage oil the oli to the body andgive a massage.Keywords : Etnobotany, Beauty treatment, Observation.

Abstract

The reach aim to the effect of flamboyant (Delonix regia Hook Raf.) flower extract on the growth of large red pepper plant (Capsicum annuum L.), for use a land under of flamboyant trees. The research design used was Random Block Design, with five treatments extract concentration, control, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, each treatment was repeated five time. Observations were made during the 15 weeks. The results showed the percentage of germination and plant height are effect significant, while the number of leaves, root length and dry weight of the plant does not provide effect for the growth of large red pepper plant. Abstract

Minyak hati ikan kod sebagai sumber asam lemak tidak jenuh ganda mempunyai manfaat yang sangat beragam dan kompleks, di antaranya untuk kesehatan organ reproduksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui diameter oosit kelinci setelah diberi pakan komersial disuplementasi minyak hati ikan kod. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan empat perlakuan pakan, yaitu pakan komersial tanpa suplementasi minyak hati ikan kod (P0) sebagai kontrol, pakan komersial disuplementasi minyak hati ikan kod 3% (P1), pakan komersial disuplementasi minyak hati ikan kod 4,5% (P2), dan pakan komersial disuplementasi minyak hati ikan kod 6% (P3). Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas sepuluh ekor kelinci sebagai ulangan dan perlakuan diberikan mulai kelinci berumur 4 bulan sampai umur 6 bulan. Akhir perlakuan, kelinci dibedah dan selanjutnya dibuat preparathistologi ovarium. Parameter yang diamati adalah diameter oosit pada folikel primer, sekunder, tersier dan folekel praovulasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan ANOVA, jika berbeda nyata diuji lanjut dengan DMRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi minyak hati ikan kod dengan taraf yang berbeda pada pakan komersial berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap diameter oosit kelinci. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi minyak hati ikan kod pada taraf 4,5% pada pakan komersial mampu meningkatkan diameter oosit kelinci.
