Abstract

An evaluation of fatigue resistance for foamed asphalt mixture is very demanding since the binder is not continuously distributed on the aggregate surface and this mixtures contains water, the content of which dramatically affects the mechanical properties. This paper discusses the results of laboratory fatigue testingon the foamed asphalt mixtures in which the specimens are generated using three different foamed bitumen properties. Foamed bitumen as the binder was produced at three different foaming water content (FWC) at a temperature of 180oC using a 70/100 pen. The aggregates were mechanically mixed with foamed bitumen using a Hobart mixer. The resulting mixtures were then compacted using a gyratory compactor to generatespecimen with diameter of 100 mm. The specimens were fatigue tested at various stress levels at a temperature of 20oC following a curing period of 3 days at 40oC. Overall, fatigue performance of foamed asphalt can be identified based upon both stress and strain for mixtures produced at FWC 1%, 5%, and 10%.Keywords: fatigue performance, foamed asphalt, binder, foaming water content.

Abstract

Rubberized bitumen technology has been applied for a long time to enhance the performance of the asphalt pavement. In this research, the influence of natural rubber (NR) latex and crumb rubber (CR) on the conventional and rheological characteristics of 80/100 penetration grade bitumen before and after aging was compared. Conventional tests of penetration, ring and ball temperature, and ductility were conducted to evaluate the consistency of base bitumen and rubberized bitumen. A dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) test was carried out to evaluate the viscoelastic characteristics of the base and rubberized bitumen. The results showed that the addition of NR latex and CR reduced the penetration grade and increased the ring and ball temperature and ductility of the rubberized bitumen. This indicates that promising enhancement of the bitumen properties can be expected with the addition of NR latex and CR. The rheological properties analysis results showed that addition of CR up to 8% and NR latex up to 4% improved the complex modulus and rutting resistance of the rubberized bitumen compared to conventional bitumen. This indicates that the application of NR latex and CR in bitumen modification is expected to improve the durability of asphalt pavement.

Abstract

Tingginya mobilitas penduduk di berbagai sektor seperti ekonomi, pendidikan dan budaya menyebabkan beberapa pemasalahan transportasi, di antaranya kemacetan dan keselamatan berlalu lintas. Berbagai upaya Manajemen Rekayasa Lalu Lintas telah dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Kota Surakarta, salah satunya adalah pemberlakuan aturan Sistem Satu Arah (SSA). Dampak pemberlakuan SSA tersebut tentunya akan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja jaringan jalan di Surakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai route factor kondisi ruas jalan di Kawasan Kerten ditinjau dari waktu tempuh pada kondisi eksisting dan kondisi skenario  dengan kondisi SSA. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja jaringan jalan adalah metode Comparative Route Factor. Nilai route factor  diperoleh dengan cara membandingkan rute kondisi alternatif yang tercepat dengan rute kondisi eksisting. Data yang digunakan adalah jarak tempuh yang diperoleh dari google map dan kecepatan arus dari data sekunder. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi diketahui  nilai CRF,sebesar 1,09. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya skenario SSA menyebabkan waktu tempuh yang lebih lama menuju titik pusat di Simpang Purwosari. Kendaraan yang berasal dari titik pusat Simpang Purwosari harus memutar terlebih dahulu melalui ruas Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Jalan Dr. Rajiman dan Jalan KH Agus Salim. Nilai CRF tidak terlalu berbeda jika titik acuan awal yang digunakan berubah. Meskipun demikian perubahan yang dilakukan tidak begitu besar pengaruhnya terhadap efisiensi waktu tempuh antara kondisi skenario dengan eksisting.Kata-kata kunci: kinerja, jaringan jalan, rute, comparative route factor, SSA.

Abstract

Abstrak Terminal yang tidak dikelola dengan baik dapat menimbulkan permasalahan di masyarakat. Renovasi terminal perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan jumlah pengguna angkutan umum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi eksisting Terminal Bulupitu Purwokerto, menganalisis fasilitas yang diprioritaskan, serta tingkat kepuasan penggunanya. Data observasi digunakan untuk menginvestigasi ketersediaan fasilitasnya, sedangkan data kuisioner untuk menjaring penilaian penggunanya. Metode Importance Performance Analysis digunakan untuk mengetahui fasilitas yang dianggap penting namun memiliki kinerja yang kurang memuaskan sehingga perlu ditingkatkan, sedangkan Metode Customer Satisfaction Index untuk menganalisis tingkat kepuasan pengguna terhadap fasilitas yang tersedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan fasilitas terminal di atas sudah memenuhi persyaratan dengan kondisi yang baik walaupun masih ada beberapa yang belum tersedia. Berdasarkan diagram kartesius IPA terdapat 6 fasilitas yang dianggap penting namun kinerjanya belum sesuai dengan harapan pengguna, sehingga perlu ditingkatkan pelayanannya. Berdasarkan Metode CSI diperoleh nilai sebesar 62,99% yang berarti para pengguna merasa cukup puas terhadap pelayanan di terminal tersebut. Kata kunci: Fasilitas Terminal, Angkutan Penumpang, Metode IPA, Metode CSI  Abstract Unmanaged terminals might cause problems in the community. Terminal renovation is required to increase the number of people who use public transportation. The purpose of this research is to determine the current state of the Bulupitu Terminal of Purwokerto, as well as to analyze the prioritized facilities and the level of user satisfaction. The availability of facilities is investigated using observation data, while user ratings are collected using questionnaire data. The Importance Performance Analysis method is used to identify facilities that are deemed important but perform poorly, indicating that they should be improved, whereas the Customer Satisfaction Index method is used to assess user satisfaction with the available facilities. The study's findings indicate that the terminal facilities listed above have met the requirements in good condition, though some are still under construction. According to the Cartesian IPA diagram, there are six facilities that are considered important, but their performance does not meet user expectations, so the service must be improved. The CSI method yields a value of 62.99 percent, indicating that users are generally pleased with the service provided at the terminal. Keywords: Terminal Facilities, Passenger Transport, IPA Method, CSI Method

Abstract

Abstract Traffic congestion in the City of Surakarta gave rise to a phenomenal figure among motor vehicle drivers, called the Traffic Control Volunteers or abbreviated as Supeltas. This Supeltas is present on the road to help organize the movement of traffic, as happened at the Surakarta Ganesha Unsignalized Intersection. This study aims to determine the influence of the existence of Supeltas on capacity, degree of saturation, delay, and queuing opportunities that occur at the intersection. The analysis was carried out using the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual. The results showed that the intersection without Supeltas had a capacity of 3,114.03 pcu/hour and a degree of saturation of 1.47, while the same intersection but with Supeltas had a capacity of 3,136.81 pcu/hour and a degree of saturation of 1.51. These results indicate that Supeltas has a positive influence on the performance of the intersection. Nevertheless, the degree of saturation in the location increased due to the increase in traffic volume as well as increased capacity. Keywords: unsignalized intersection, intersection performance, intersection capacity, degree of saturation  Abstrak Kemacetan lalu lintas di Kota Surakarta memunculkan sosok fenomenal di kalangan pengendara kendaraan bermotor, yang disebut Sukarelawan Pengatur Lalu Lintas atau disingkat Supeltas. Supeltas ini hadir di jalan untuk membantu mengatur pergerakan lalu lintas, seperti yang terjadi di Simpang Tak Bersinyal Ganesha Surakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh keberadaan Supeltas terhadap kapasitas, derajat kejenuhan, tundaan, dan peluang antrian yang terjadi di simpang tersebut. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggu-nakan Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa simpang tanpa Supeltas memiliki kapasitas sebesar 3.114,03 smp/jam dan derajat kejenuhan 1,47, sedangkan simpang yang sama tetapi dengan Supeltas memiliki kapasitas sebesar 3.136,81 smp/jam dan derajat kejenuhan 1,51. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Supeltas mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap kinerja simpang. Meskipun demikian, derajat kejenuhan di lokasi tersebut meningkat karena bertambahnya volume lalu lintas di samping kapasitas yang juga meningkat. Kata-kata kunci: simpang tak bersinyal, kinerja simpang, kapasitas simpang, derajat kejenuhan

Abstract

Abstract This paper presents the results of research on the durability of Asphalt Concrete-Wear Asphalt (AC-WC) mixture using latex material to water immersion. Resistance to warm water immersion is intended to measure the durability of asphalt mixture in serving traffic loads against the influence of water and temperature factors. The use of latex material is intended to improve the performance of the mixture. This research uses a laboratory-scale test. The specimen of AC-WC added with latex was tested for its tensile strength using the Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) test. Other specimens are immersed in water at 60°C with a continuous and periodic soaking system. The continuous immersion was carried out for 0, 24, 48, and 72 hours, while the periodic immersion was carried out for 12 hours soaked and 12 hours exposed alternately. The durability was analyzed using the Residual Strength Index indicator. The analysis shows that the addition of latex increased the tensile strength of the AC-WC mixture based on the ITS test results. The AC-WC mixture added with latex can increase its resistance to continuous and periodic immersion, by increasing the residual strength index and decreasing IKS with increasing immersion time. Continuous immersion has a greater impact on reducing IKS than periodic. In specimens without latex, the decrease in IKS values between continuous and periodic soaking has the same pattern, but in specimens with latex, the pattern is different. Keywords: asphalt concrete; latex; water immersion; Indirect Tensile Strength; Residual Strength Index.  Abstrak Makalah ini menyajikan hasil penelitian mengenai ketahanan campuran beraspal Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) yang menggunakan bahan lateks terhadap rendaman air. Ketahanan terhadap perendaman air hangat dimaksudkan untuk mengukur daya tahan campuran aspal dalam melayani beban lalu lintas terhadap pengaruh faktor air dan temperatur. Penggunaan bahan lateks dimaksudkan untuk memperbaiki kinerja cam-puran. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji skala laboratorium. Kekuatan tarik benda uji AC-WC dengan lateks diuji menggunakan uji Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS). Benda uji yang lain direndam dalam air bertemperatur 60oC dengan sistem rendaman menerus dan rendaman berkala. Metode perendaman secara menerus dilakukan selama 0, 24 jam, 48 jam, dan 72 jam, sedangkan rendaman secara berkala dilakukan 12 jam direndam dan 12 jam diekspose secara bergantian. Tingkat keawetan dianalisis menggunakan indikator Indeks Kekuatan Sisa (IKS). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penambahan lateks meningkatkan kekuatan tarik campuran AC-WC berdasarkan hasil uji ITS. Ketahanan terhadap perendaman menerus dan berkala, campuran AC-WC menggu-nakan lateks meningkat, dengan meningkatnya indeks kekuatan sisa dan menurunnya IKS dengan bertambah-nya lama rendaman. Perendaman secara menerus memberi dampak yang lebih besar dalam menurunkan IKS dibanding perendaman berkala. Pada benda uji tanpa lateks, penurunan nilai IKS antara rendaman menerus dan rendaman berkala memiliki pola yang sama, namun pada benda uji dengan lateks pola penurunan nilai IKS berbeda. Kata-kata kunci: campuran beraspal; lateks; rendaman air; Indirect Tensile Strength; Indeks Kekuatan Sisa.
