Abstract

Penentuan waktu salat secara praktis merupakan kebutuhan primer dalam Islam. Jadwal waktu waktu salat sepanjang masa pernah menjadi alternatif acuan dalam mengawali awal waktu-waktu salat. Pasalnya hal tersebut dipandang cukup memberikan solusi dalam memulai dan mengakhiri salat. Disisi lain, keberadaan jadwal waktu salat sepanjang masa perlu dikaji kembali tingkat akurasinya. Data matahari yang selalu berbubah-ubah dalam setiap tahunnya menjadi salah satu faktor terjadinya perbedaan waktu dalam setiap tahunnya, sehingga hal ini akan bertentangan dengan jadwal waktu salat sepanjang masa yang mengacu kepada suatu data yang sama untuk sepanjang masa. Belum lagi koordinat lintang dan bujur tempat serta tinggi tempat yang besar kecil akan mempengaruhi hasil perhitungan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan relevansi dari jadwal waktu salat sepanjang masa, serta memberikan alternatif keberlakuannya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan tidak relevannya penggunaan jadwal waktu salat sepanjang masa ini, diantaranya: penggunaan lintang dan bujur tempat yang mengacu kepada satu titik dalam suatu daerah, penggunaan equation of time (perata waktu) dan deklinasi matahari rata-rata dan belum adanya standarisasi waktu ihtiyath.

Abstract

The accuracy of determining the north point is a very important matter in determining the Qibla direction. Finding the north using a compass, especially in buildings, is not encouraged so that an alternative method is needed. Apart from using a compass and istiwa stick (gnomon),  Polaris can also be used to reference the north, but it is not popular because of its limited appearance, which is only easily observed in areas which located above latitude 10o N. This study aims to examine theoretically the accuracy of Polaris as a reference for the north point in determining the Qibla direction. This research belongs to library research using secondary data. The data were obtained from various sources such as Stellarium software and various relevant articles. Based on this research, it is concluded that in the region near the equator (less than latitude 10o N),  Polaris is difficult to observe because it is very low above the horizon. Thus, for the sake of determining the Qibla direction, the results are inaccurate. Whereas in regions that are located far north from the equator (at latitude above 10o N) the north point can be determined easily because Polaris can be observed quite high. Thus, its use in determining the Qibla direction is classified as accurate.

Abstract

Abstract Masalah ketepatan arah kiblat di Masjid Agung Baitul Makmur Meulaboh, Aceh Barat tidak bisa ditolerir. Pasalnya, tingkat kemiringan yang terjadi begitu besar sehingga tidak mengarah ke ainul ka'bah bahkan jihatul ka'bah. Penelitian ini mengkaji metode penentuan arah kiblat Masjid Agung Baitul Makmur Meulaboh Aceh Barat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan kualitatif, dengan memverifikasi metode yang digunakan dalam menentukan arah kiblat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengukuran arah kiblat masjid Agung Baitul Makmur Meulaboh Aceh Barat tidak mengacu pada metode pengukuran tertentu, sehingga memiliki ketidaktelitian yang sangat signifikan.

Abstract

BMKG develops rukyatul hilal by using Image processing in astrophotography. The process of image processing on the cresent that can not be ascertained its existence. Image processing is able to clarify the vivid image of the cresent becoming more vivid and invisible. This study examines the views of ulama related to the validity of the use of image processing. There is a difference between the scholars. Firstly, the scholars did not allow the use of image processing because of the use of limited tools to aid vision. Secondly, scholars who allow the use of image processing but only limited to clarify the image of the new moon. Thirdly, scholars who allow the use of image processing as a whole, because the step is a scientific process to ensure moon. Keyword: Image Processing, Rukyatul hilal, Ulama

Abstract

Salah satu isu sains yang sedang berkembang akhir-akhir ini adalah perdebatan antara penganut teori Bumi bulat (sferis dan ellipsoid) dan penganut teori Bumi datar (flat earth). Persoalan ini menjadi masalah yang sangat serius karena masing-masing pihak tidak hanya menunjukkan bukti ilmiah, tetapi juga menggunakan dalil al-Quran dan hadis untuk memperkuat argumentasi mereka. Dari segi sains, penganut Bumi datar memberikan argumentasi bantahan terhadap teori Bumi bulat seperti tidak terlihatnya lengkungan Bumi berdasarkan eksperimen Samuel Robotham, klaim yang menyatakan bahwa NASA merekayasa foto Bumi dan satelit adalah kebohongan semata, tidak adanya grafitasi, kutub utara merupakan pusat Bumi dan lain-lain. Sedangkan dari segi nash syar’i, para ahli tafsir pun berbeda pendapat tentang bagaimana bentuk Bumi sebenarnya. Apa yang dikemukakan oleh penganut flat earth pun selanjutnya ditanggapi oleh penganut Bumi bulat dengan sejumlah argumentasi ilmiahnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) yang bertujuan mendeskrpsikan problematika teori Bumi bulat dan Bumi datar dan menjelaskan upaya mencari titik temunya dalam penentuan arah kiblat. Dari problematika tersebut, diajukanlah sebuah metode penentuan arah kiblat yang diduga bebas dari pengaruh bentuk Bumi, apakah datar atau bulat yaitu rashdul kiblat tahunan.

Abstract

The accuracy of the Qibla direction at the Baitul Makmur Great Mosque in West Aceh cannot tolerate. The reason is that the value of deviation is so high that it does not face ainul ka'bah or even jihatul ka'bah. This Qiblah direction is not by the minimum limit of tolerance for the variation of the Qibla direction and is not by the Islamic legal status. This study examines the causes of the inaccuracy of the Qibla of the Great Mosque of Baitul Makmur Meulaboh West Aceh, namely the lack of role of figures and efforts to maintain the architecture of the mosque building. This research belongs to qualitative field research, by verifying the direction of the Qiblah with the rashdul qibla method and google earth observation to explore causes of inaccuracy. Interview techniques are also used to obtain in-depth field data. The analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. This study indicates that the inaccuracy of the Qibla direction of the Baitul Makmur Great Mosque in West Aceh is inseparable from the minor role of religious figures and leaders at the beginning of the Mosque's construction. Until now, the direction of the Mosque's Qiblah is still parallel to the mihrab. Renovations were also not carried out because of maintaining the architecture of the mosque building. Renovation of the mosque building to calibrate the Qibla direction would reduce the aesthetics of the mosque building.

Abstract

Qibla direction calibration is something that is very urgent in order to achieve accuracy and accuracy in facing the Qibla. Technological developments in the industrial era 4.0 require the use of technology that is easier to carry out the calibration process. Google earth which displays a virtual image of the actual earth can be an alternative in fulfilling this. This study provides a detailed description of the use of Google Earth as a Qibla direction calibrator. The method used in this research is descriptive analytical with a scientific approach. The results of this study indicate that google earth can be used as an alternative to calibrate the Qibla direction. By knowing in detail the latitude and longitude coordinates where Google Earth can determine the Qibla direction by using the measure distance and area feature (measuring distance and area) drawn straight to the Kaaba position. With regard to accuracy, as long as the location can show the updated position on Google Earth, it will be easier to calibrate, with fairly accurate results.

Abstract

The usage of devices in performing of rukyat al-hilâl whose function is to make objects (hilāl) from outer space appear as bright, contrasty and large as possible isnot direcly give a solution. The view of fiqh on using devices in rukyat al-hilâl become an obstacle in the development of the rukyat  method with technology. The technology of rukyat al-hilâl is improving rapidly and developing significantly, in reverse with it’s legal developments. Therefore, there must be a transformation of the rukyat al-hilâl method as well as development of the times, without leaving it’s validity to fiqh. This study analyzes the views of postmodernism in hilal image processing. This research focuses on hilal images processing in the view of postmodernism. The research method used was library research with descriptive analysis. The results show that first, postmodernism considers that image processing is a development of method in rukyat al-hilâl that is needed. This is caused by limitations in the current method that has not been able to provide a solution, but the use of technology in rukyat should not leave its validity according to fiqh. Second, Restrictions on using devices in rukyat al-hilâl will obstruct it's main purpose which is to confirm the existence of the new moon and blocked the broadest development opportunities as a form of subjectivity and a plurality of knowledge.

Abstract

Inheritance in the Gayo community assumes that grandchildren whose parents have died still have the authority to get inheritance. The solution to this problem has attracted the attention of many people, so it has significant urgency to be investigated. This study aims to explore and analyze; first, how is the inheritance of grandchildren whose parents died first by the heir according to Gayo customary law?, second, how is the settlement of grandchildren whose parents died first from those who bequeath their assets to the Gayo community? This research is an empirical legal research, with a non-doctrinal approach. The data was extracted by observation, interview and documentation methods, then analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that first, in general, the Gayo community divides their inheritance based on Islamic inheritance law which is sourced from the teachings of the Qur'an Al-Sunnah. Second, the Gayo community stated that the grandchildren who wore the hijab were given an inheritance divided into three forms; 1) said that he was given a modest inheritance. 2), stated that he was given an inheritance of half of the share received by his parents. 3), stating that the grandson is given an inheritance equal to the share received by his parents. The Gayo community does not know a substitute heir, because there is no stipulation on how much inheritance must be given to the grandson, when receiving an inheritance from his grandparents as a substitute for parents who have died first. Seeing the implementation of giving compensation to grandchildren whose parents died earlier than those who bequeath property to the Gayo community, giving inheritance to grandchildren whose parents died from the heirs does not conflict with Gayo customary law.Waris pada masyarakat Gayo beranggapan bahwa cucu yang telah meninggal orang tuanya masih mempunyai wewenang untuk mendapatkan harta warisan. Penyelesaian persoalan tersebut cukup menyita perhatian banyak kalangan, sehingga memiliki urgensi yang cukup signifikan untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan menganalisa; pertama, bagaimana kewarisan cucu yang orang tuanya lebih dahulu meninggal oleh pewaris menurut Hukum adat Gayo?, kedua, bagaimana penyelesaian cucu yang orang tuanya lebih dahulu meninggal dari orang yang mewariskan harta pada masyarakat Gayo?. Penelitian ini  merupakan penelitian hukum empiris,  dengan pendekatan non doktrinal. Data digali dengan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, selanjutnya dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, secara umum masyarakat Gayo membagi warisannya berdasarkan hukum kewarisan Islam yang bersumber dari ajaran Al-Qur'an Al-Sunnah. Kedua, masyarakat Gayo menyatakan bahwa cucu yang terhijab patah titi diberikan harta pusaka dengan pembagian dalam tiga bentuk; 1) mengatakan diberi harta warisan sekedarnya saja. 2), menyatakan diberi warisan setengah dari bahagian yang diterima orang tuanya. 3), menyatakan cucu tersebut diberi harta warisan sebesar bahagian yang diterima orang tuanya. Masyarakat Gayo tidak mengenal ahli waris pengganti, sebab tidak ada ketentuan berapa besar harta warisan yang harus diberikan kepada cucu tersebut, ketika menerina warisan dari kakek/neneknya sebagai pengganti orang tua yang telah meninggal lebih dulu. Melihat pelaksanaan pemberian imbal kasih kepada cucu yang orang tuanya lebih dahulu meninggal dari orang yang mewariskan harta pada masyarakat Gayo maka pemberian harta warisan kepada cucu yang orang tuanya terlebih dahulu meninggal dari pewaris tidak bertentangan dengan Hukum adat Gayo.

Abstract

This research shows that most Islamic astronomy references in Islamic Universities in Indonesia still use the spherical earth concept to explain the qibla  direction.  However,  based  on  modern  astronomy,  the  earth's  shape  is not a perfect sphere but an ellipsoid. In addition, a contradiction occurs in the  conception  of  magnetic  declination  in  determining  the  qibla  direction. This research aims to examine the relevance of Islamic astronomy reference books  with  the  concept  of  geoscience  based  on  the  magnetic  declination formula  and  concept.  This  research  also  examines  the  calculation  methods for qibla direction based on sharia. This library research applies descriptive- analytic  and  normative  approaches  with  the  data  originating  from  various Islamic astronomy references in the digital library of Islamic universities. This research finds that Islamic astronomy references about the qibla direction are not  yet  relevant  to  the  concept  of  geoscience.  Most  of  those  references  still use references astronomy for qibla calculation. There are still some references contradicting the international consensus regarding magnetic declination. In addition, this study reveals that someone who has the ability to determine the qibla direction through the Vincenty formula should use that concept instead of  spherical  trigonometry.  This  is  because  of  skill  (ahliyyah) and sincerity (juhd)  requirements  in  ijtihad;  Shafi'i's  notion  regarding  ikhtilāf in ijtihād for qibla direction; and Islamic jurisprudence principle stating that certainty is not overruled by doubt.Keywords: Islamic  astronomy;  qibla  direction;  spherical  trigonometry; Vincenty's formula; sharia AbstrakPenelitian  ini  berangkat  dari  fakta  bahwa  sebagian  besar  referensi ilmu falak di perguruan tinggi Indonesia masih menggunakan konsep bumi bulat  dalam  menjelaskan  pokok  bahasan  arah  kiblat.  Padahal,  berdasarkan astronomi modern, bentuk bumi tidaklah seperti bola sempurna, melainkan berbentuk elipsoid. Selain itu, terdapat pula pertentangan konsepsi deklinasi magnetik  dalam  persoalan  penentuan  arah  kiblat.  Penelitian  ini  bertujuan untuk mengkaji relevansi referensi ilmu falak terhadap konsep sains kebumian berdasarkan ketepatan penggunaan formula dan konsep deklinasi magnetik, serta juga menelaah penggunaan formula perhitungan arah kiblat berdasarkan kajian syariah. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kepustakaaan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif analitik dan normatif sumber data dari berbagai referensi ilmu falak yang ada di perpustakaan digital perguruan tinggi keagamaan Islam. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, ditemukan bahwa referensi ilmu falak pada pokok bahasan  arah  kiblat  belum  relevan  dengan  konsep  sains  kebumian.  Hal  ini disebabkan sebagian besar referensi tersebut masih menggunakan perhitungan referensi astronomi untuk memecahkan persoalan arah kiblat. Beberapa referensi ilmu  falak  juga  tidak  mengikuti  konsensus  internasional  mengenai  konsep deklinasi magnetik. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa seseorang yang mampu menentukan arah kiblat melalui perhitungan formula Vincenty sebaiknya  menggunakannya  dan  meninggalkan  perhitungan  trigonometri bola.  Hal  ini  disebabkan  beberapa  pertimbangan,  yaitu  pelaksanaan  ijtihād yang mewajibkan kecakapan (ahliyyah) dan kesungguhan (juhd), pandangan Shafi’i  mengenai  penyelesaian  ikhtilāf dalam ijtihād  penentuan  arah  kiblat, dan kaidah ushūl  al-fiqh  yang  menyebutkan  bahwa  keyakinan  tidak  dapat dihilangkan oleh keraguan (shakk).Kata Kunci: ilmu falak; arah kiblat; trigonometri bola; formula Vincenty; syariah
