Abstract

Komersialisasi Bandar Udara (Bandara) Halim Perdanakusuma (HLP) sejak tahun 2014 menyebabkan eksternalitas negatif yang tidak terhindarkan yaitu paparan kebisingan pesawat terbang. Kebisingan pesawat terbang akan berdampak terhadap menurunnya kualitas kesehatan. Dalam rangka pengendalian kebisingan pesawat terbang diperlukan model sosial-spasial dampak kebisingan pesawat terbang. Permodelan sosial-spasial yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kebisingan lingkungan, dan menentukan batas kawasan kebisingan Bandara HLP berbasis indeks WECPNL (Weighted Equivalent Continous Perceived Noise Level) pada radius 300 ─ 600 m. Ruang lingkup tambahan dari permodelan sosial-spasial yaitu kategorisasi risiko kebisingan lingkungan, dan sosial ekonomi berbasis perhitungan mean hipotetik dari masyarakat yang tinggal tepat di jalur LTO (Landing Take-Off) pesawat terbang. Hasil permodelan menunjukkan tingkat kebisingan lingkungan di permukiman masyarakat sekitar Bandara HLP (67.01 ─ 70.19 dBA) tidak memenuhi baku tingkat kebisingan untuk kawasan permukiman sesuai Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Nomor 48 Tahun 1996 yaitu 55 dB(A). Secara spasial, hasil permodelan menunjukkan batas aman kebisingan pesawat terbang Bandara HLP terletak pada jarak 600 m dari ujung runway 06 HLP, sehingga dapat diperuntukkan sebagai kawasan permukiman ideal di sekitar Bandara HLP (WECPNL=73,80). Hasil permodelan batas kawasan kebisingan Bandara HLP selanjutnya digunakan untuk menganalisis kesesuaiannya dengan rencana tata ruang. Hasil kategorisasi menunjukkan aspek persepsi risiko mayoritas responden mulai dari kebisingan lingkungan sampai dengan sosial ekonomi termasuk kategori sedang, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pertukaran yang dapat ditoleransi dengan risiko bertempat tinggal di sekitar Bandara HLP. Berdasarkan uji korelasi statistik Kendall’s Tau-b diketahui waktu domisili dan tingkat pendidikan responden tidak berpengaruh terhadap persepsi risiko kebisingan lingkungan.

Abstract

Decoupling resource use efficiency and ecological impacts are two challenges of oil palm smallholders in Indonesia. This study aims to find option for increasing productivity among smallholder and to reduce the environmental impacts of nutrient management in their plantations. We adopted UNEP’s definition of resource and impact decoupling as a tool to estimate resource decoupling rate and impact decoupling rate. The average smallholder’s resource decoupling rate from 2013 to 2017 is 0.86 kg fertilizer/kg fresh fruit bunch. This rate is 93.48% of the average of the companies (0.92 kg fertilizer/kg fresh fruit bunch) for the same period. Reducing the fertilizers dosages will reduce the resource decoupling rate and the impact decoupling rate by 58.14% (from 0.86 to 0.36 kg fertilizer/kg fresh fruit bunch) and by 67.32% (from 3.06 to 1.10 g CO2e/kg fresh fruit bunch) respectively. Reducing the fertilizer dosage is the most appropriate approach to increasing the resource and impact decoupling rates. We conclude that a smallholder is able to produce fresh fruit bunches sustainably by changing nutrient management practices and increasing access to certified planting material. Further study is required to include the influence of land use change on the impact decoupling rate as this factor was not included in our analysis.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pengelolaan lingkungan rumah sakit (RS) secara berkelanjutan menjadi sangat penting dalam rangka meminimalisasi konstribusi negatif terhadap pemanasan global. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) menyusun atribut green hospital di Indonesia, dan 2) menganalisis status keberlanjutan pengelolaan lingkungan RS di Indonesia.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan dua pendekatan yakni pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Jenis data yang dikumpulkan merupakan jenis data primer dan data sekunder. Metode pengumpulan data terdiri atasstudi pustaka, survei, wawancara mendalam, dan pendapat pakar. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan inferensial dengan pendekatan Multidimensional Scalling (MDS) Rap GreenHospital.Hasil: Hasil analisis diperoleh, atribut green hospital RS di Indonesia terdiri dari enam dimensi yakni dimensi ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, teknologi, kesehatan lingkungan dan kelembagaan. Keenam dimensi tersebut terdiri dari 42 atribut dan 151 sub atribut. Status keberlanjutan pengelolaan lingkungan RS dalam kategori cukup berkelanjutan (yellow hospital) dengan skor 71.233%. Faktor pengungkit keberlanjutan pengelolaan lingkungan RS meliputi: a) Pengelolaan limbah non medis; b) Pengelolaan limbah B3; c) Lingkungan dalam bangunan; d) Lingkungan Luar bangunan; e) Mitigasi dan adaptasi bencana; f) Sumber dana; g) Kinerja anggaran; h) Budaya ramah lingkungan;i) pengembangan partisipasi masyarakat; j) Tingkat kepuasan; k) Teknologi konservasi energi;l) Teknologi pengolahan limbah padat, cair dan gas; m) Infeksi nosokomial;n) Fasilitas sanitasi; o) Promosi kesehatan, p) Kepemimpinan; q) Sumberdaya manusia; dan r) Dokumen lingkungan.Simpulan: Atribut green hospital rumah sakit di Indonesia terdiri atas enam dimensi yakni dimensi ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, teknologi, kesehatan lingkungan dan kelembagaan. Keenam dimensi tersebut terbagi dalam 42 atribut dan 151 sub atribut. ABSTRACTTitle: Attribute Assessment of the Sustainability of Hospital Environmental Management Towards Green Hospital in IndonesiaBackground: Sustainable management of the hospital environment is very important in order to minimize the negative contribution to global warming. The purpose of this study is 1) to compile the attributes of green hospitals in Indonesia, and 2) to analyze the sustainability status of hospital environmental management in Indonesia.Methods: This study uses two approaches namely qualitative and quantitative approaches. The type of data collected is a type of primary data and secondary data. Data collection methods consist of study literature, surveys, in-depth interviews, and expert judgment. The data analysis method used is descriptive and inferential analysis with the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) Rap Green Hospitalapproach.Results: The analysis results obtained, the attributes of green hospital hospitals in Indonesia consist of six dimensions namely the dimensions of ecology, economics, social, technology, environmental health and institutional. The six dimensions consist of 42 attributes and 151 sub attributes. Status of environmental management of hospitals in the category of sustainable enough (yellow hospital) with a score of 71,233%. Factors for the sustainability of hospital environmental management include: a) Non-medical waste management; b) Hazardous Poison Materials waste management; c) The environment in the building; d) Outside environment of buildings; e) Disaster mitigation and adaptation; f) Sources of funds; g) Budget performance; h) green culture; i) development of community participation; j) Level of satisfaction; k) Energy conservation technology; l) Solid, liquid and gas waste treatment technology; m) Nosocomial infections; n) Sanitation facilities; o) Health promotion, p) Leadership; q) Human resources; and r) Environmental documents.Conclusion:The attributes of green hospital in Indonesia consist of six dimensions, are ecology, economic, social, technology, environmental health, and institutional. The six dimensions are divided into 42 attributes and 151 sub attributes.

Abstract

Poverty is an issue that continues to be discussed in the world. Poverty is multi-dimensional and requires the participation of all parties to resolve. Poverty has implications for the environmental damage caused by access to natural resources are made public. This study aims to apply the principles of eco-habitat (integrate economically and ecologically) in rural areas to increase incomes while preserving the environment. The study was conducted with a mixed method through observation, interviews, and literature review. That 68 percent of respondents never perform actions that lead to environmental destruction; 72 percent know that his actions have consequences for the extinction of organisms. Meanwhile, 57 percent say it is because there was another choice for needs. Furthermore, 100 percent of respondents agree with the strategy of environmental conservation by utilizing the types of organisms which has an economic value. Ecological suitability-based land management provides the most optimal production value. Management of pattern and type of land it gives the production value is very small, because of the high cost of planting, pest attacks, and controls that are environmental unfriendly. This should be targeted at land management based ecological suitability to provide economic and ecological values are high. This principle has many benefits including CO2 sequestration, absorb and store water, provide habitat for organisms, and provide economic value for society. Finally, the land use pattern encourages a sense of ownership of natural resource and environmental ecosystems, that they have the willingness to manage and preserve it.Keywords: agriculture, ecosystems, environmental degradation, income, povertyAbstrakKemiskinan menjadi isu yang terus diperbincangkan di seluruh belahan dunia, yang harus diselesaikan pada tahun 2030. Kemiskinan bersifat multi dimensi dan membutuhkan partisipasi dari semua pihak untuk menyelesaikannya. Kemiskinan berimplikasi pada terjadinya kerusakan lingkungan akibat akses sumber daya alam yang dilakukan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan prinsip eko-habitat (mengintegrasikan aspek ekonomi dan ekologi) di kawasan pedesaan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat sekaligus melestarikan lingkungan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mixed method melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kajian pustaka. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa 68 persen responden pernah melakukan tindakan yang mengarah pada perusakan lingkungan; 72 persen mengetahui bahwa tindakannya memiliki konsekuensi terhadap kepunahan organisme. Sementara 57 persen menyatakan hal tersebut dilakukan karena tidak ada pilihan lain untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Di sisi lain, 100 persen responden setuju dengan strategi pelestarian lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan jenis-jenis organisme yang bernilai ekonomi. Pengelolaan lahan berbasis kesesuaian ekologis memberikan nilai produksi yang paling optimal. Pola pengelolaan dan jenis lahan yang justru memberikan nilai produksi yang sangat kecil, karena tingginya biaya tanam, serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman, dan pengendalian yang tidak ramah lingkungan. Perlu diutamakan pengelolaan lahan berbasis kesesuaian ekologis untuk memberikan nilai ekonomi dan ekologi yang tinggi. Tentunya prinsip ini memiliki banyak manfaat di antaranya menyerap CO2, menyerap, dan menyimpan air, menyediakan habitat organisme, dan memberikan nilai ekonomi bagi masyarakat. Pada akhirnya dengan pola pemanfaatan lahan tersebut masyarakat memiliki rasa kepemilikan terhadap ekosistem alam dan lingkungan, sehingga mereka memiliki kemauan untuk menjaga dan melestarikannya.Kata kunci: ekosistem, kemiskinan, kerusakan lingkungan, pendapatan, pertanian

Abstract

Pertumbuhan penduduk DKI Jakarta yang pesat adalah salah satu permasalahan yang kompleks bagi penyediaan air bersih terutama karena limbah domestik yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan masyarakat. Sungai sebagai badan air penerima limbah domestik menjadi salah satu sumber daya alam yang rentan terhadap pencemaran. Sungai Krukut adalah salah satu sungai yang digunakan sebagai air baku air bersih PDAM dan saat ini telah tercemar akibat kegiatan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis mutu air dan menentukan upaya pengendalian pencemaran air Sungai Krukut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode gabungan antara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Metode SWOT (Strength, weakness, opportunity, and Threat) digunakan untuk menentukan upaya pengendalian pencemaran air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status mutu air pada 5 titik pemantauan dengan metode Indeks Pencemar yaitu (7,65), (7,54), (6,93), (6,95) dan (9,03), sehingga mutu air tergolong dalam kategori tercemar sedang. Upaya pengendalian pencemaran air yang dapat diterapkan di Sungai Krukut adalah (1) Melakukan penertiban masyarakat yang tinggal dan usaha di daerah sempadan sungai (2) Mengadakan sosialisasi dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat dan UMKM tentang pentingnya pengelolaan limbah (3) Meningkatkan pengawasan pembuangan limbah cair UMKM (4) Bantuan pemerintah dalam membuat sistem dan menerapkan IPAL terpadu untuk kegiatan UMKM dan permukiman kumuh (5) Implementasi program pengendalian pencemaran air

Abstract

Perakitan sepatu menggunakan perekat atau lem yang mengandung senyawa organik volatil (diantaranya benzena, toluen, dan xylen. Benzena dan metabolitnya terbukti dalam peningkatan stres oksidatif yang terlihat dari peningkatan malondialdehid (MDA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi konsentrasi benzena di udara tempat kerja dan hubungan antara benzena di dalam tubuh melalui pengukuran biomarker S-Phenylmercapturic Acid (S-PMA) terhadap stres oksidatif melalui pengukuran kadar plasma MDA pekerja bengkel sandal/sepatu. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi cross-sectional pada sepuluh bengkel sandal/sepatu. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 64 pekerja diambil dengan metode total sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata konsentrasi benzena di udara empat kerja masih dibawah NAB yang ditentukan oleh Peraturan Menteri Tenaga Kerja No. 13 Tahun 2011 yaitu 0,002066 ppm dan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara konsentrasi S-PMA dalam urin terhadap kadar MDA plasma darah akan tetapi pekerja yang memiliki konsentrasi S-PMA lebih tinggi berisiko 1,31 kali lebih besar memiliki kadar MDA yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Indonesia, as the second longest coastline country in the world, contain a huge coastal area need to be managed. One way to manage coastal area is using monitoring systems, yet none of them has been effectively implemented in Indonesia. This research attempts to develop monitoring system using indicators. There were 105 indicators that chosen from references. Each of the indicators were filtered by scoring method and then be processed using PLS-SEM resulting 9 indicators and sustainability development monitoring model. Coastal Area of North Jakarta has been chosen as area to implementing the model since that area are dynamics and growing rapidly. Based on the model, coastal area of North Jakarta has good economic condition (62.2%), medium social condition (46.7%), and bad natural environment condition (38%). Sustainable development seems quite implemented in this area since the balance of Economic-Social-Natural Environment was on the medium and balanced category. By using GIS can be seen that the development that occurred in west side study area are better than middle or east side.

Abstract

This study is associated with the increased pressure on hill resources due to land conversion that causes environmental degradation and leads to environmental unsustainability. The evenly spread hill known as Bukit Sepuluh Ribu, is a source of community life. The hill formed by the eruption of a volcano, has a land cover, namely close to forest vegetation. The study location is in Bukit Sepuluh Ribu area that has ecological, hydrological, geological and aesthetic environmental function. The concept of community empowerment through Agro-ecosystem can be a solution, thus the utilization of the hill is economically profitable and environmentally sustainable. There are land use unsuitability referring to the existing spatial plan (682.9 Ha), namely high densely settlement area (264.67 Ha), other agriculture (359.21 Ha) and mining areas (58.51 Ha), Through the concept of appropriate community empowerment in accordance with the rules and typology of hill areas can provide the potential benefits of ecosystems and produce products of economic value without damaging them. The concept of empowerment through dryland agro-ecosystem by combining forest-based agriculture activities is one of the solutions to the problem of land management.

Abstract

Environmental education (EE) has begun in Indonesia since 1970, however the environmental damages that come from human behaviour are still going on and even increasing. This may imply that the results of environmental education have not been seen. Performance of teachers as educators and learning designers need to be evaluated. The research was conducted at Gonzaga High School in Jakarta and Loyola High School in Semarang with a quantitative approach and qualitative data as supporters. The method used was survey, with questionnaires technique and in-depth interviews. The results show that the active participation of the students in terms of protecting the environment is very low. It means the effectiveness of environmental education in terms of this side is not effective. Performance of teachers as educators and learning designers in the implementation of EE affects the active participation of students in terms of conserving the environment. Training for teachers in making learning instrument needs to be done regarding the conduct of learning related EE more effective.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical industry is one of the industries experiencing growth in Indonesia. One of the pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia is PT X. In its production activities, company produces four groups of waste, namely liquid, domestic, hazardous (B3) and gas waste. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effectivity of liquid waste management system and the compliance of liquid waste management towards regulatory provisions in Indonesia. The research method applied descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection including documentation, observation and unstructured interviews. Treatment of domestic, production and supporting activities waste using anaerobic-aerobic method with the proportion of 70:30. Waste treatment activities results revealed that the trend of parameters always met the existing quality standards for the last 3 years, except COD.
