Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between birth weight, weaning weight and sex on parity ofSimmental cattle in BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas. The material of this research is data from 104 Simmental parity I, IIand III cows kept in BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas. The method used in this research is a case study method and thesampling is done by purposive sampling. The data were obtained by looking at the Simmental cattle recording recordsin BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas. The variables observed were birth weight, weaning weight and sex as the independentvariable and parity as the dependent variable. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with stepwise method andits processing used SPSS 22 for windows to find variables that were significantly related to parity. The results of thisstudy indicate that the mean birth weight P1 = 34.94 kg; P2 = 43.11 kg; P3 = 45.93 kg. The average weaning weightP1 = 196.14 kg; P2 = 230.74 kg; P3 = 248.73 kg and the average gender P1 = 0.48; P2 = 0.52; P3 = 0.50. It can beconcluded that birth weight, weaning weight and sex of Simmental cattle have a significant relationship to parity ofSimmental cattle in BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas, because increased parity tends to increase birth weight and weaningweight of calves, calves with heavy birth weight tend to be male.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of probiotic drinks on live weight, carcass percentage and income overfeed cost of broiler chickens. The materials used in this study were 60 DOC strains of CP 707, 311 and 511 feed andprobiotic drinks as a source of lactic acid bacteria. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5treatments and 4 replications. If F is a large treatment count from F table 5%, it means that there is a significantdifference between treatments, then the calculation is continued with the DNMRT further test. The results showed thatthe provision of probiotic drinks gave a significant difference (P <0.05) on live weight, carcass percentage and incomeover feed cost of broiler chickens. From the results of the study it can be concluded that probiotic drinks have an effecton live weight, carcass percentage and income over feed cost and the provision of 1.5 ml can help increase live weight,carcass percentage and income over feed cost.

Abstract

Sapakek Basamo adalah satu kelompok tani ternak yang berada di Rimbo Berantai Kelurahan Tanah Garam Kecamatan Lubuk Sikarah Kota Solok yang berdiri sejak tahun 2019. Jenis usaha yang dijalankan adalah pegembangan usaha ternak sapi pembibitan dan penggemukan sapi potong unggul jenis Simmental. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok tani ternak selama ini adalah masih rendahnya ketersediaan pakan yang berkualitas serta rendahnya ilmu pengetahuan tentang upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit pada ternak sapi baik pada kelompok sapi pembibitan maupun sapi penggemukan. Umumnya pemberian pakan berupa hijauan rumput lapangan, jerami padi dan ampas tahu, hal ini menunjukkan rendahnya kualitas pakan yang diberikan dan menyebabkan pengembangan sapi bibit dan sapi penggemukan berjalan lambat. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diberikan penyuluhan ilmu pengetahuan terutama tentang penyediaan pakan berupa tehnologi pakan fermentasi dan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penaykit mulut dan kuku yang sedang mewabah pada saat ini. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa metoda penyuluhan/ceramah dan diskusi bersama anggota kelompok tani ternak. Dari hasil pengabdian ini anggota kelompok tani ternak sangat antusias mengikut kegiatan penyuluhan dan berdiskusi langsung bersama tim pengabdian. Tehnologi penyediaan pakan ternak dengan fermentasi sudah dipahami begitu juga pentingnya upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit mulut dan kuku pada ternak. Peternak mengharapkan sekali untuk dilaksanakan kegiatan vaksinasi PMK oleh pihak terkait sebagai upaya pencegahan PMK.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the length of fermentation time of soybean juice with Aspergillus ficuum on the dry matter, crude protein, and crude fiber content. Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 5 replications for each treatment, used in this research. The treatments consisted of P0 fermentation for 0 days, P1 fermentation for 7 days, P2 fermentation for 9 days, and P3 fermentation for 11 days. The parameters measured were dry matter content, crude protein content, and crude fiber content. The results of the analysis of diversity showed that the length of fermentation of soybean juice with Aspergillus ficuum had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on dry matter content, crude protein content, and crude fiber content. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the fermentation time of soybean juice with Aspergillus ficuum for 11 days gave optimum results seen from the dry matter content of 95.95%, crude protein content of 35.27% and crude fiber content of 10.99%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dosis inokulum jamur pelapuk putih (Phanerochaeta chrysosporium) pada hasil fermentasi limbah penyulingan serai wangi yang telah dicuci menggunakan buah lerak terhadap kandungan serat kasar, lemak kasar dan bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan metoda eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan adalah P0 ( Tanpa fermentasi), P1 (Fermentasi Limbah serai wangi dengan dosis inokulum 3%, P2 (Fermentasi limbah serai wangi dengan dosis inokulum 5%), P3 (Fermentasi limbah serai wangi dengan dosis inokulum 7% dan P4 (Fermentasi limbah serai wangi dengan dosis inokulum 9%). Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh dosisi jamur pelapuk putih (Phanerochaeta chrysosporium) pada fermentasi limbah serai wangi memberikan pengaruh berbeda sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadapa kandungan serat kasar dan BETN tetapi berbeda tidak nyata (P>0.05) terhadap kandungan lemak kasar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh dosis jamur pelapuk putih (Phanerochaeta chrysosporium) pada fermentasi limbah serai wangi memberikan pengaruh berbed sangat nyata menurunkan kandungan serat kasar dan bahan ekstrak tanpa nirogen tetapi berbeda tidak nyata terhadap kandungan lemak kasar.

Abstract

Salah satu potensi peternakan yang dapat di kembangkan di Kabupaten Solok Propinsi Sumatera Barat adalah usaha peternakan sapi potong karena keadaan geografis sangat mendukung. Kelompok tani Kiat Ka rsa merupakan kelompok yang bergerak dalam bidang peternakan sapi potong. Kelompok tani ini telah lama berdiri, tetapi pengetahuan peternak dalam mendeteksi berahi, melakukan perkawinan pada ternak dan mengolah pakan dari limbah pertanian masih terbatas. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan, informasi, dan praktek langsung dilapangan kepada peternak mitra tentang masalah pengamatan berahi, perkawinan ternak tepat waktu serta pelatihan dan praktek langsung mengolah dan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian sebagai pakan ternak sapi potong. Target khusus dari pengabdian ini adalah peternak mampu medeteksi beahi pada sapi potong, peternak mampu mengawinkan ternaknya dengan cara teknologi Inseminasi Buatan (IB) tepat waktu sehingga dapat menghasilkan kebuntingan dan dapat memperpendek calving interval. Selanjutnya peternak mampu mengolah pakan ternak dari limbah pertanian sehingga peternak tidak sulit mencari pakan untuk ternak sapi yang dipeliharanya. Metode yang dipakai dalam pencapaian tujuan tersebut adalah dengan penyuluhan pada peternak. Setelah penyuluhan dilakukan praktek langsung dilapangan tentang perkawinan pada ternak dengan singkronisasi estrus dengan hormone PGF2? dan selanjutnya ternak di kawinkan dengan cara inseminasi buatan secara tepat waktu. Praktek langsung dilapangan juga dilaksanakan dengan membuat fermentasi dan amoniasi dari limbah pertanian untuk sumber pakan sapi potong. Setelah kegiatan tersebut berakhir diharapkan peternak mampu melanjutkan kegiatan yang telah di contohkan secara terus menerus. Dari hasil kegiatan PKM yang telah dilakukan, setiap anggota kelompok tani sudah mengerti masalah penanganan reproduksi ternak, menajemen pemeliharaan, penanggulang penyakit dan pengolahan pakan ternak dari limbah pertanian.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted for 12 weeks to determine the effects of dietary inclusion of oil palm seed meal in the diet on the production performance of growing native chickens. 60 unsexed native chicks used in this study. They were randomly allotted into receive four dietary treatments with five replicates of three chicks/replicate. Dietary treatments were formulated according to NRC (1994) recommendations, and the four dietary treatments consisted of T0, T1, T2, and T3 supplemented with 0%ˏ 25%ˏ 50% and 75% of dietary inclusion of oil palm seed meal in the commercial diet supplied by Sinta Prima Feed Mill Indonesiaˏ and they contained 3000, 2688, 2375 and 2063 kkal/kg of metabolisable energy and 21, 17, 13, and 9% crude protein respectively. The parameters measured were feed intake, feed conversion, body weight gain, body weight, carcass percentage and income over feed cost (IOFC). Dietary inclusion of oil palm seed meal in the diet for native chickens resulted highly significant (P <0.01) feed intake, feed conversion ratio, body weight gainˏ body weight and IOFC. While dietary inclusion of oil palm seed meal in their diets produced no significant effect (P> 0.05) on their percentage of carcasses. In conclusionˏ dietary oil palm seed meal can be included up to 50% in the diet of native chickens until the age of 12 weeks, and resulted in their weight gain were relatively similar to the control diet with their feed conversion ratio was the lowest compared with other treatments
