Abstract

Academic writing is one of important skill to have students in tertiary education, including students of Information Technology Diploma. Using Systemic Functional Linguistics Genre Pedagogy (SFL GP), the students report writings are investigated, his research aims at investigating how students comprehend SFL GP in their report writing and find out the relationship between students’ knowledge of SFL GP with their language proficiency. The texts are analyzed using the genre division by Rose and Martin. The results of the analysis will be used to investigate if the knowledge of genre writing for technology-based students is related to their language proficiency. This research contributes to better use of genre pedagogy for science students, more specifically, students of Information Technology.

Abstract

Institutional repository is an essential part functioning as a storage for keeping the collection of publication digitally. Del Institute of Technology (ITD) has its own collection of institutional publication but it does not have institutional repository. Before developing the application, it is essential that a feasibility study be conducted in order to ensure the development of ITD's application will run well. Feasibility study is conducted through first phase of knowledge management system life cycle and the model is IPB institutional repository. Based on the analysis of the feasibility of the ITD infrastructure percentages obtained in building institutional repository is 51.96%. The percentage is derived from the percentage of the value of the following eligibility is infrastructure (21.44%), human resources (14.33%), Budget (0%), Rules / SOP / SK (3,40%) and Content (12.79%). Based on the results of the study referred to the several things that need to be addressed in the effort to develop the institutional repository ITD and refer to the model repository development in IPB is to provide the infrastructure that is software as a tool for transferring media content repository, making decree team, create a SOP for digital documents and the handover of the scientific work of the academic community ITD. Abstract

The development of today’s technology requires libraries to follow the development of existing technologies. Existing information systems must continually be developed to adjust to the evolving needs and developments in information technology. Del Technology Institute as an institution must constantly develop technology-based information systems with either one of them is the library information system. Currently the library information system ITD require development so as to answer the needs of the system at management level. ITD library information systems need to be developed as a knowledge portal and can be accessed using a mobile phone. Besides institutional repository is also an important part that must be provided at the library information system. Therefore, the business process reengineering is a very important part to develop information systems.

Abstract

Customer Relationship Management is very important to be applied in libraries to increase the number of library visitors. The purpose of this study is to examine the efforts that need to be made to improve library management in a better direction. The method of observing the system is done by trying menus on the library information system. Currently the Del Institute of Technology Library has not conducted customer relationship management. The Del Institute of Technology library always strives to increase the satisfaction of library service users. In an effort to improve visitor services, the IT Del Library will make changes to the information system used so that the information system used can be more easily understood by users of library services. Some things that are done are improving the existing system, changing the system design and making additional menus for institutional repositories. Personalization of library service users can be done so that what is currently needed and in the future can be known and finally served by the library to its customers or users. It can happen through customer relationship management.

Abstract

Pendidikan diploma merupakan pendidikan tinggi yang mempersiapkan peserta didik untuk memiliki pekerjaan dengan keahlian terapan tertentu. Politeknik merupakan salah satu perguruan tinggi yang melaksanakan pendidikan program diploma selama tiga tahun atau disebut diploma III. Salah satu mata kuliah dalam sebuah program diploma yang sangat menentukan kelulusan mahasiswa yaitu tugas akhir. Makalah ini membahas sebuah topik tugas akhir yang sedang dikerjakan oleh sekelompok mahasiswa di Politkenik Informatika Del, yaitu sebuah Politeknik yang berfokus di bidang Informasi dan Teknologi yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Tobasamosir Propinsi Sumatera Utara. Topik tugas akhir yang dibahas pada makalah ini adalah “Proses Otomatisasi Pemeriksaan dan Perbaikan Ejaan Kata yang Benar dalam e-Document ber-Bahasa Indonesia”. Tujuan dari pembahasan topik tugas akhir ini adalah sebagai media untuk berbagi pengalaman tentang tugas akhir di Politeknik. Penulisan makalah ini diharapkan dapat membantu dalam menentukan standar baku pengerjaan tugas akhir yang sesuai untuk program diploma III, khususnya yang diselenggarakan oleh Politeknik. Selain itu, tulisan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan jiwa penelitian di lingkungan Politeknik.

Abstract

Del-Gong Kids Corner App is a mobile-based app that provides English kids' stories in audio format. The community service project aims to socialize the Del-Gong app to users, especially in Desa Lumban Dolok as the target community, so the community has a better understanding of using the application for learning and communicating in English through the books available in the app. Methods used to conduct this community service project are by developing the materials and the application. The developed application is then checked for its functions and interface before being finalized and released to the public. Socialization impacts the better understanding of the community regarding the app's use for learning, including the available features. During the socialization, participants gave valuable feedback regarding the app and its functions. The feedback is then used for the improvement of the app. The output of the Del-Gong app is an alternative to learning English and to help promote the reading interest of the community, especially children. --- Aplikasi Del-Gong Kids Corner merupakan sebuah aplikasi berbasis mobile. Aplikasi ini menyediakan cerita-cerita anak dalam bahasa Inggris dalam bentuk audio. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan penggunaan aplikasi kepada masyarakat di Desa Lumban Dolok, sehingga peserta memiliki pemahaman yang baik terkait pemanfaatan aplikasi untuk pembelajaran dan peningkatan kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris melalui buku-buku cerita yang tersedia yang mudah di akses melalui aplikasi Del-Gong. Metode dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah dengan pembuatan materi aplikasi dan pembangunan aplikasi. Setelah aplikasi dibangun, aplikasi di ujicobakan dan difinalisasi kembali sebelum disosialisasikan ke khalayak sasaran. Hasil dari pelaksanaan sosialisasi aplikasi Del-Gong adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta terkait penggunaan aplikasi Del-Gong, termasuk fitur – fitur yang tersedia pada aplikasi. Respons dari peserta terkait aplikasi utamanya kesesuaikan dalam tampilan aplikasi dan fungsi – fungsi yang tersedia juga diperoleh sebagai hasil dari sosialisasi yang digunakan untuk penyempurnaan aplikasi. Luaran dari aplikasi ini dapat menjadi alternatif dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dan membantu meningkatkan minat membaca anak-anak.

Abstract

Pada daerah Humbang Hasundutan 70% mata pencaharian penduduk nya adalah bertani. Berbagai jenis hasil pertanian setiap tahunnya dihasilkan seperti padi, kopi, tomat, cabai, bawang, kacang-kacangan dan sayur mayur. Dengan situasi pandemic (Covid-19), terjadi penurunan penjualan hasil produksi para petani yang mengakibatkan ekonomi para petani menurun. Selain itu, sistem pemasaran yang digunakan masih manual. Oleh karena itu, penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui dampak Covid-19 terhadap pertanian di Humbang Hasundutan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah melalui wawancara langsung kepada 25 petani, 5 konsumen dan 5 agen yang berada di Kecamatan Lintongnihuta dan Paranginan, Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan. Perancangan user interface dengan mock up yaitu membuat desain yang menarik dan mudah dimengerti oleh pengguna. Desain ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan suatu rancangan desain terbaik, yang didasari oleh penelitian yang dilakukan. Perancangan aplikasi user interface diterima baik oleh para petani di Humbang Hasundutan. Perancangan ini efesien untuk dilakukan, guna membantu memasarkan hasil pertanian para petani. Perancangan aplikasi user interface ini digunakam sebagai media komunikasi yang efektif dan efesien antara pengguna dengan system.

Abstract

English has become a world language that must be mastered by many people because English has dominated the era of communication to connect and transfer knowledge to the entire world. When it comes to the development of mobile applications for language learning, previous research has tended to emphasize testing on various technologies such as multimedia, virtual and augmented reality, conversational agents and artificial intelligence-based systems. This research, therefore, aimed to develop a mobile-based English learning application that provided English learning in the form of stories called the Deltalk. This mobile-based English learning application provides features in which the users can practice their speaking in English. This app was developed by integrating ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) technology provided by NOVO Learning. The ASR was integrated with Deltalk through the API (Application Programming Interface) and Websocket. Deltalk development adapted two agile frameworks, including Scrum and Lean Software Development by performing MVP process one time.

Abstract

The presence of a library is very much needed as an effort to form superior human resources. The Flores library was established in Pea Nature Village to provide reading materials that can increase the knowledge of the audience in Pa Nature Village. However, the library in question still does not have an information system that can assist users in conducting information retrieval. On the other hand, currently, information technology is developing very fast. The library information system application is expected to help fulfill the need for access to information and information retrieval. Mobile application is the selected application in the development of library information systems. The use of mobile applications will make it easier for users to access information on a mobile basis. This application can also assist in tracing the collection and also the status of the collection of library materials in the Flores Library.

Abstract

Tomatoes plants are widely recognized as versatile vegetables globally. This study aims to develop a high-precision web interface for classifying various leaf diseases in tomatoes. Utilizing a convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm using the residual network-101 (ResNet-101) architecture, this tool aids farmers in accurately identifying leaf diseases in tomatoes, thereby reducing the risk of crop failure. The dataset comprises 6,800 images, categorized into four classes: early blight, spider mites two spotted, tomato yellow leaf curl virus, and healthy tomatoes, each containing 1,700 images. Hyperparameter tuning was conducted as part of an experiment aimed at enhancing the performance of the model. Experiments involved varying epoch values (10, 25, 30, 50, 60, 75, 100, and 110), a fixed batch size of 4, different learning rates (0.1, 0.01, 0.001, 0.0001), and num workers (4, 8, 16). The results demonstrated an accuracy of 99% with 100 epochs, a batch size of 4, a learning rate of 0.001, and 16 num workers. Consequently, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of disease management in tomato plants, ensuring optimal quality and quantity of the harvest.
