Abstract

The purpose of the research is to obtain empirical evidence and to find out transparent phenomena as well as conclusions regarding the influence of the organizational commitment, organization culture and transformational leadership toward good corporate governance and its implication on the corporate financial performance of some state owned companies in Indonesia. Organization culture is the major variable that influences good corporate governance in which the dimensions of professionalism and team work have dominantly contributed to organization culture. The second major variable that influences a good corporate governance is the organizational commitment. Transformational leadership becomes the minor variable that influences good corporate governance with its dimensions of intellectual stimulation and individual consideration. In addition, the dimensions of return on equity, current ratio and collecting periods become the most dominant factors/elements of the corporate financial performance. As a result, those state owned companies should optimally improve the ownership structure, organization culture, and transformational leadership including good corporate governance in order to increase the corporate financial performance of those state owned companies.

Abstract

Penawaran saham perdana (Initial public offering = IPO) menjadi topik penelitian yang menarik untuk dikaji mengingat isu ketimpangan informasi atau asimetri informasi di antara pihak-pihak yang terlibat di dalamnya. Salah satu fenomena yang menarik untuk dikaji dan melekat dengan penawaran saham perdana adalah adanya dugaan praktik manajemen laba (Teoh et al., 1998). Dalam hal ini, ada dorongan yang kuat bagi pemilik lama perusahaan untuk membuat kinerja keuangan perusahaan lebih baik pada periode sebelum panawaran. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk menguji apakah ada kenaikan laba yang signifikan pada periode sebelum penawaran yang dapat diinterpretasikan sebagai adanya manajemen laba. Perilaku aliran kas dari aktivitas operasi juga diteliti. Sampel penelitian mencakup 35 perusahaan yang melakukan penawaran saham perdana di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2002-2005. Uji-t untuk perbedaan nilai diterapkan untuk menguji apakah laba antar periode berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa besaran laba cenderung meningkat pada tahun mendekati saat penawaran saham, tetapi menurun pada periode dua tahun setelah penawaran saham perdana. Perilaku aliran kas dari aktivitas operasi relatif sama dengan perilaku laba. Namun demikian, penelitian ini tidak sampai pada kesimpulan bahwa manajemen laba terbukti dengan nyata dilakukan pada perusahaan yang melakukan IPO di Indonesia tahun 2002-2005.

Abstract

The decline in sales of fashion products in one of the department stores in Cimahi City is the background of this research. So the authors want to know whether there is an influence of promotion and distribution channels on purchasing decisions on fashion products at one of the department stores in Cimahi City. Researchers surveyed customers who had made fashion products that became the object of study. The research method used is path analysis because this research, in addition to getting an overview of purchasing decisions associated with promotions and distribution channels, also gets an overview of the pattern of relationships and the influence of the research variables determined. The study results show a positive relationship between promotion (X1) and distribution channel (X2), which is 0.826. There is a positive and significant effect of promotion (X1) on purchasing decisions (Y) that is equal to 40.67%; there is a positive and significant influence of distribution channels (X2) on purchasing decisions (Y) of 32.53%. Therefore, there is a positive and significant influence of promotion (X1) and distribution channel (X2) on purchasing decisions (Y) together, which is 73.2% and the rest by other factors or also called epsilon by 26.8%. These studies stated that improving purchasing decisions can be done by increasing promotion and location.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the function of leadership, competence, and organizational culture on employee performance. Descriptive research methods of verification with data analysis techniques using Path Analysis. Total respondents 127 employees denagan stratifield random sampling technique. The results showed there is a significant influence between the functions of leadership, competence, and organizational culture on employee performance either partially or simultaneously. As for competence has a direct effect of 20.6 %, the function of leadership has a direct effect of 17.2 % and direct influence of organizational culture by 4.4 %. Total overall effect is 72.6 % whereas the effects of other factors were not examined on the performance of 27.4 %. Keywords: function of leadership; competency; organizational culture; performance

Abstract

Upgrading of skills as well as knowledge to make a new generation of high quality to be able to pursue and develop science and technology are regarded as a catalyst of economic progress that will improve people's welfare. Therefore, the college has an ethical responsibility to the quality of its graduates as work ability, creativity, community recognition as an absorber of human resources towards credibility. Private universities are faced with tight competition and should do anticipate to explore and improve all aspects of service that are owned, including in terms of academic services. Academic services can be interpreted as an attempt by the college to provide facilities to meet the needs of students in matters related to academic activities. This study aims to find out, observe, assess and analyze whether there are significant differences anatara academic services students of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences University General Achmad Yani. In this study took a sample of 149 students of the Faculty of Economics and 143 students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Unjani.The method of analysis used to answer the hypothesis is to use parametric statistics that comparative analysis with t test (t-test). The results of his research is the average score of students of the Faculty of Economics Unjani to attribute academic services at 73.7% (relatively high) compared to the average score of students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the attributes of academic services amounted to 72.6% (high enough). The difference score of 1.2% illustrate the difference. Results of calculation with the formula t-test separated sample variance relation is independent (uncorrelated) and the second variant sample is not homogeneous, known F count larger than F table (1.3> 1,271). Based on calculations by comparing t arithmetic with t table known that t t table amounted to -1.79 -0.7047 with a standard error of 7.5% (0.075), thus there are significant differences on the attributes of academic services between the students of the Faculty of Economics with the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political University General Achmad Yani. Abstract

Individual behavior that can increase organizational effectiveness is an essential aspect for organizations to achieve optimal performance. For this reason, there is a need for research that can contribute to improving individual behavior in producing its effectiveness. However, previous research has shown a theoretical gap in measuring individual trust and organizational citizenship behavior. In theory, to fill the gap, this study measures the influence of individual beliefs and organizational citizenship behavior. Researchers surveyed employees who work in the retail sector as many as 257 employees. The researchers used a structural equation modeling approach – PLS with predictive purposes to test the research model. The study results indicate that there is a positive influence on individual beliefs based on intention and individual beliefs on actions on organizational citizenship behavior. The study's implications indicate the need to increase the motivational aspect to increase individual confidence so that it will lead to behavioral actions that can increase organizational effectiveness.

Abstract

This research conduct to know the description of the leadership function in the Garment Division. It is using descriptive analysis to find out how the leadership function describes. Respondents are employees of 40 people. Based on the calculation, it knows that the leadership function is quite good. However, to improve the leadership function, it can be considered in connection with the results of the research, which is to establish better communication between the leader and their subordinates furthermore, for the organization to distribute work tasks following its employees' work abilities so that they can complete tasks on time.

Abstract

Tax is a source of income for the State, therefore it is necessary to be encouraged in order to achieve the optimal target. In achieving these objectives it is necessary to encourage human resources within government institutions. This study aims to determine the influence of organizational culture, work design and quality of supervision on employee performance. The population in this study are the employees who are in one of the Tax Office Primary in Bandung. The respondents employed were 83 employees. The research method used with cossectional survey approach. Technique of data analysis used path analysis. The result of research indicate that organizational culture, work design and quality of supervise have significant effect to employee performance either simultant or partial. Organizational culture variable is the most dominant variable in influencing employee performance then followed by work design variable and quality of supervision. The result of coefficient of determination showed that equal to 78,2% while equal to 21,8% influenced by other factor not examined in this research. Based on the results of the research, it is necessary to strengthen the organizational culture so that the performance of employees can be achieved optimally, however synergy can also be supported by the work design and the quality of supervision. Abstract

Employment (job) is a department that deals with a series of tasks that can be combined into a unit employees and can be done by an officer. Position shows the assignment of a person in the organization. Thus, the three officers briefly unsettled the market could have the same job, but with mutually different position. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership functions on job satisfaction. Theoretically, the leadership function divided into 3 (three), namely the instruction function, delegation function, and control function. The research method used is the quantitative verification method. The sample used is an employee at the Department of Industry and Trade and SMEs in West Bandung Regency as many as 90 employees. Data analysis techniques using path analysis. The results of the study prove there is an influence of the leadership function on job satisfaction by 52.0%.
