Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cemaran bakteri koliform pada daging ayam suwir bubur ayam yang dijual Dramaga Bogor. Sampel daging ayam suwir bubur ayam yang digunakan berasal dari pedagang bubur ayam. Sejumlah 15 sampel daging ayam suwir bubur ayam di isolasi terhadap bakteri koliform. Metode yang digunakan adalah cara tuang (pour plate method). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah cemaran koliform pada daging ayam suwir bubur ayam yang dijual di Dramaga Bogor adalah 4,25 x 105 ± 2,74 x 105. Cfu/g. Jumlah koliform pada daging ayam suwir bubur ayam melebihi SNI sehingga dapat menimbulkan berbagai gangguan kesehatan masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan studi mengetahui keberadaan Salmonella sp. pada daging ayam suwir bubur serta rekomendasi agar aman dan layak untuk dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian lapang cross sectional study. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pedagang bubur ayam yang berada (radius 100 meter) di lingkar kampus Institut Pertanian Bogor, Dramaga, Bogor. Penelitian dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan pengujian laboratorium. Sampel pada penelitian ini diambil dari 15 pedagang bubur ayam, setiap pedagang diambil sampel sebanyak 3 kali ulangan, total sampel adalah 45. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat (fisher exact test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan keberadaan Salmonella enteretica serovars Enteritidis dalam daging ayam suwir bubur ayam sebanyak 6,66% (3/45) dan terdapat hubungan antara asal daging ayam dan keberadaan Salmonella Enteritidis. (p value=0,022 dan CC=0,577). This study was aims to conducted studies to determine the presence of Salmonella sp. in shredded chicken meat of chicken porridge and recommendations for safe for consumption. A cross sectional study approach was used in this study. The population in this study was all chicken porridge seller which located in radius of 100 m around of the campus area Bogor Agricultural University, Dramaga, Bogor. The research was done through interview, observation and laboratory examination. The samples in this study were 15 chicken porridge seller with repeated for three times and total number of samples were 45. The data were analyzed by univariat and bivariate (fisher exact test). The results of this study showed the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis in 6.66% (3/45) of shredded chicken meat chicken porridge and there was a relationship between the origin of chicken meat and the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis (p value = 0.022 and CC = 0.577).

Abstract

Non-typhoid Salmonella (NTS) is a pathogenic bacteria causing gastroenteritis in humans which is transmitted through animals and contaminated animal products with Salmonella typhimurium or Salmonella enteritidis. Many cases of NTS infection in humans have been reported in the world, however most people in Indonesian are generally more familiar with Salmonella typhoid, which is caused by Salmonella typhoid and Salmonella paratypoid. Gastroenteritis due to NTS infection seldom requires antimicrobial treatment. If there is no post-infectious complications such as septicemia, reactive arthritis or aortic aneurysm. Eggs, chicken meat, raw milk and other animal products contaminated with NTS are a source of transmission through food (food-borne pathogens). An estimated 1-3% of pets carry NTS without causing illness. Control of NTS infection is difficult because Salmonella is tolerant to environmental stresses, widely spread, resistant to several types of antibiotics and has the ability to adapt. The application of strict biosecurity on farms is conducted through surveillance and monitoring so that it can  prevent the contamination of livestock products and their derivatives, hence, it can prevent the transmission of NTS to humans. This paper provides information on NTS in animal and human prevention and control.

Abstract

Anjing (Canis familiaris) adalah hewan yang sangat dekat berinteraksi dengan manusia.  Selain sebagai hewan kesayangan anjing juga sering dimanfaatkan sebagai hewan pemburu. Salah satu penyakit parasitik yang sering menjadi permasalahan pada anjing pemburu adalah penyakit cacingan yang disebabkan oleh nematoda saluran pencernaan (gastrointestinal nematodes) yaitu Ancylostoma spp. dan Trichuris spp. yang dapat menyebabkan ancylostomiasis dan trichuriasis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui infeksi Ancylostoma spp. dan Trichuris spp. serta prevalensi pada anjing pemburu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional yang dilakukan secara cross sectional. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 50 feses anjing pemburu dan diperiksa menggunakan metode uji apung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, bahwa 31 sampel feses anjing pemburu  positif terinfeksi oleh nematoda dengan prevalensi 62% yang terdiri dari Ancylostoma spp. 52%,  Trichuris spp. 6% dan infeksi ganda (Ancylostoma spp. dan Trichuris spp) sebesar 2%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the prevalence of trematoda infection in the gastrointestinal tract in cattle at the Payakumbuh Livestock Market. The research was conducted in August 2020. The method used was a survey using purposive sampling method. A total of 155 stool samples from the Paykumbuh Livestock Market were examined using floating and sedimentation method. Analyze the data in the form of qualitative descriptive analysis. The gastrointestinal flukes found were Fasciola sp and Paramphistomum sp. The most common fluke found was Fasciola sp. in cows is 16.15% and bulls is 12%. Infection with 1 species of fluke in 22.10% of cows and 16% of bulls. Infection with 2 species of fluke in 3.38% of cows and 4% of bulls. The prevalence of tapeworm infection in the 0-2 years old group was 23.61% and the >2 year old group was 20.48%.

Abstract

Trichinellosis/Trichinosis is one of the most common zoonotic parasites in the world caused by infection with Trichinella nematodes. The infection occurs after the larvae have been eaten in the muscles of the infected animal. Due to its spread and spread, several outbreaks of trichinosis have occurred around the world, which has caused serious public health problems. The main risk factor for trichinosis is the consumption of raw or undercooked meat from pigs and hunted meat. In the first stage of infection, adults nematode in the intestine can cause transient gastroenteritis, but the most serious symptoms are associated with the larval formation and muscle migration. a study conducted in India to investigate at the clinical and biochemical profile of Trichinella infection stated that clinical symptoms first appeared at 2-3 weeks after consuming pork and the symptoms would gradually disappear at 4-5 weeks, but there were also some who experienced myalgia. Supervision and implementing proper biosecurity in livestock areas by monitoring and surveillance of the risk of Trichinella infection in pig products and their derivatives as well as preventing transmission to humans.

Abstract

Daging ayam dan produknya adalah makanan yang banyak disukai dan dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat karena kaya akan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan. Namun, bahan pangan ini bersifat mudah mengalami kerusakan apabila tidak mendapat perlakuan yang tepat. Salah satu cemaran dalam daging ayam dan produk olahannya adalah adanya kontaminasi bakteri patogen Salmonella sp. yang menyebabkan foodborne disease. Bakteri ini dilaporkan sudah resisten terhadap beberapa golongan antibiotika sehingga berpotensi berbahaya bagi kesehatan masyarakat. Tujuan penulisan ini untuk mengetahui dampak infeksi Salmonella sp. dalam daging ayam dan produknya yang menyebabkan salmonellosis pada manusia. Artikel ini berdasarkan literatur review beberapa hasil penelitian dan laporan terkait keberadaan Salmonella sp. pada daging ayam dan produknya. Kata kunci yang digunakan dalam pencarian artikel pada sciencedirect.com, google scholar, Elsevier, Scopus adalah “Salmonella in chicken meat and product”. Artikel yang dikumpulkan terkait dengan Salmonella sp. pada daging ayam yang berjumlah 250 artikel. Selanjutnya dipilih berdasarkan habitat dan distribusi, cemaran pada daging ayam dan produknya, dampak, tindakan pencegahan dan pengendalian Salmonella sp. sehingga ditemukan 91 artikel yang relevan dengan tujuan penulisan artikel dari terbitan tahun 2002-2020. Insidensi salmonellosis pada manusia mencapai 93,8 juta kasus per tahun. Tingginya kasus tersebut disebabkan oleh rendahnya penerapan higiene sanitasi dan higiene personal dalam penanganan daging ayam dan produknya. Penanganan yang tepat terhadap produksi daging ayam dan produknya dapat mendukung penyediaan bahan pangan asal hewan yang aman, sehat, utuh dan halal serta layak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

Background: Sarcoptes scabiei is one of the ectoparasites that usually attack cats. This parasitic disease can be transmitted through direct contact with other animals affected by scabies or by the presence of a source of scabies in the area where the cat lives. Purposes: This study aimed to determine the handling of cases of scabies in a Persian mixed-breed cat (Pobo) at UPTD. Puskeswan, Bukittinggi City. Methods: Handling began with anamnesis and continued by examining the patient's physical condition and observing the body parts infected with scabies. A deep skin scraping was performed on the facial area, followed by microscopic and hematological examination. Results: Examination showed Sarcoptes scabiei infestation in the scraped skin layer and the cat was anemic. The cat patient with scabiosis received Ivomec® as an antiparasitic. Symptomatic treatment was also carried out by giving Vet-oxy SB® and Vetadryl® injections as antibiotics because a secondary infection was suspected. Conclusions: The therapy administered showed positive progressive results in the patient.

Abstract

Cemaran mikroba merupakan hal yang tidak dikehendaki ada di dalam bahan pangan karena dapat merugikan dan membahayakan kesehatan manusia. Coliform adalah mikroorganisme yang dapat digunakan sebagai indikator untuk menentukan kualitas dari pangan, sedangkan total plate count (TPC) adalah untuk mengetahui total mikroba dalam pangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cemaran coliform dan TPC pada daging ayam yang dijual di pasar Tamiang Layang dan di pasar tradisional lain di Kabupaten Barito Timur. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada seluruh pedagang daging ayam di pasar. Sebanyak 13 sampel diambil di pasar Tamiang Layang dan 5 sampel di pasar lain, dengan total 18 sampel. Variabel yang diamati adalah cemaran coliform dan TPC pada daging ayam. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif terhadap cemaran coliform dan TPC. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa rataan cemaran pada daging ayam yang dijual di pasar Tamiang Layang adalah: coliform 2,8 × 102 APM/g dan TPC 1,5 × 106 CFU/g, sedangkan pasar lain di luar pasar Tamiang Layang adalah: coliform 2,8 × 101 APM/g dan TPC 1,7 × 106 CFU/g. Persentase cemaran coliform dan TPC lebih tinggi di pasar Tamiang Layang dibandingkan dengan di luar pasar Tamiang Layang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various thawing temperatures to the sperm quality of FH dairy cow frozen semen. The experimental design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications . The thawing treatments were  30 seconds at 33 0C (P1), 35 0C (P2), 37 0C (P3), 39 0C (P4), 41 0C (P5) . Observed variables were sperm motility, viability and recovery rate . Data were analyzed using analysis of variance . The results showed that different thawing temperatures affect the motility , viability, recovery rate of frozen spermatozoa (P<0.05). Motility and  recovery rate of P4 was higher (P< 0.05)  than P2 , P1 and P5  , but did not differ (P>0.05) with P3 . Viability of P4  was higher (P>0.05)  than P1 and P5  but did not differ (P>0.05) with P2 and P3.  In conclusion , thawing at 39 0c and 37 0C for 30 seconds had best semen quality of FH frozen semen.
