Abstract

Phylogenetic Analysis of Rubber Tree Clones using AFLP (Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism) MarkerNational rubber productivity is lower than other rubber producing countries in the world. The DNA marker-based plant breeding program is required to increase latex production and other superior characters. Breeding process by identifying genetic diversity can be done using AFLP marker. The aim of this study was to analyze the phylogenetic six rubber clones. Pre-amplification and amplification process were performed using 64 primer pair combinations followed by electrophoresis in 6% polyacrylamide gel. A total of 2806 AFLP fragments have been detected. Phylogenetic tree of six clones showed 60% of genetic similarity, which was consisted of two groups. GT 1 clone in the first group and was separated from other clones in the second group. Sub-group at the phylogenetic peak contained IRR 104 and RRIM 600 clones with genetic similarity of 74%. The information obtained from this study showed the genetic diversity of the six rubber clones. Proses pemuliaan untuk mengidentifikasi keragaman genetik bisa dilakukan dengan marka AFLP. Tujuan studi ini adalah untuk menganalisis filogenetik enam klon karet berdasarkan produktivitasnya. Proses pre-amplifikasi dan amplifikasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan 64 kombinasi pasangan primer yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis hasil elektroforesis pada gel poliakrilamid 6%. Sebanyak 2806 pita AFLP telah dihasilkan. Kekerabatan keenam klon menunjukkan kemiripan genetik sebesar 60%. Pohon filogenetik membentuk dua kelompok, yang memisahkan GT 1 dengan klon-klon lainnya. Sub-kelompok pada puncak filogenetik terdiri dari klon IRR 104 dan RRIM 600 dengan kemiripan genetik sebesar 74%. Informasi yang diperoleh telah menunjukkan keragaman genetik keenam klon karet yang bersifat polimorfis. Abstract

Vaccination is an effective prevention of disease transmission and an obligation to ensure the availability of vaccines, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic where the availability of vaccines has an Emergency Use Approvel (EUA) permit so that further research is needed on the effects. This study aims to see the effect of using the COVID-19 vaccine on people in East Sebatik. The research design used was a prospective non-experimental method with data collection techniques, namely purposive sampling. The subjects of this study were 100 people who were vaccinated against COVID-19 stage 1 and stage 2 in East Sebatik, especially those carried out by the East Sebatik Health Center. The result of this research is that the majority of respondents based on gender characteristics are women as many as 68 respondents (68%). The majority of respondents based on age characteristics are in the adult age group (26-45 years) as many as 54 respondents (54%). The majority of respondents based on the characteristics of the history of the disease were non-complicated as many as 67 respondents (67%). COVID-19 vaccine is currently restricted to age ? 18 years. The majority respondents based on side effect after the COVID-19 vaccine dose 1 was pain in the area of the injection site, which was 39 respondents (39%). And the majority of respondents based on side effect after COVID-19 vaccine dose 2 were 17 respondents (17%).

Abstract

Suruhan leaves empirically been used as medicine, because has an antioxidant activity that can counteract free radicals that cause various diseases. This study aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of instant powder drinks. This research method was carried out by filtering extract, test the characteristics and antioxidant activity of extracts, formulation and evaluation of instant powder drink used the foam mat drying method, and test the antioxidant activity of the preparations used the 1,1-Diphenyl-2picryl Hydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results showed that the extract of Suruhan Leaf contained alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, and polyphenols. The extract has a very strong IC50 of 8.8 ppm. The research used the 20% concentration of extract to be formulated as the instant powder drink. The results of the evaluation of physical properties showed that the formulation has green color, in powder form, odorless, pH 5,84, humidity 6,84%, ash content 0,49%, flow rate 3,98 g/s, angle of repose 25,22?, compressibility 26,07%, and dissolving time 68 seconds. Only some of the physical properties of powder have met the requirements of a good powder. IC50 of instant powdered drink preparation is 387,265 ppm, indicating that the preparations antioxidant activity is in the very weak category.

Abstract

Diseases caused by parasites, especially worms in animals on farms, are one of the problems that farmers often face. Worm disease can decrease the productivity of livestock and cause a decrease in the selling value of livestock at the market. The most common worm disease that attacks livestock is Paramphistomum sp. The treatment of this disease uses nutritious plants, which is one of the alternatives chosen to minimize side effects due to the administration of synthetic drugs. Kadamba leaf was chosen in this study because one of the medical plants that have potential compounds as anthelmintics. The aim of this research is to know the anthelmintic activity of kadamba leaf extract to Paramphistomum sp. 210 samples of Paramphistomum sp. were taken from cow rumen at Tanah Merah slaughterhouses. This study was conducted in vitro with seven experimental groups consisting of one positive control (Albendazole), one negative control (NaCl), and five groups of kadamba leaf extract with concentrations of 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10 %, 12,5% with three replications. The results of the study showed the yield of kadamba leaf extract was 13,88%, and the anthelmintic test showed that kadamba leaf extract had anthelmintic activity against Paramphistomum sp. at all concentrations.

Abstract

Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) belongs to the Oxalidaceae family. The Bilimbi plant contains oxalate, phenol, flavonoid compounds which act as antioxidants and antibaterials. In previous studies Belimbing Wuluh has an antioxidant activity value of 91.89%. The fructus Bilimbi extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol. The fructus Bilimbi purpose of this study was to determine the yield and the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract from Bilimbi fructus this study resulted in a yield of 12% antioxidant activity tested by DPPH method (1,1 -diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) from the extract various concentrations five replications of 100 ppm, 150 ppm, 200 ppm, 250 ppm, and 300 ppm. Then absorbance was measuring by UV-Vis spectrophotometry with maximum wavelength 516 nm. The antioxidant activity result showed that the IC50 value was 78,313 µg/mL. this indicaticates that the fructus Bilimbi exctract has strong antioxidant activity because it has an IC50 value less than 50 – 100 µg/mL.

Abstract

Home pharmacy care on non-contagious patients is necessary to increase the quality of therapeutic outcome. This program was done in a district in Samarinda. Participant selection was done by participating of nearest primary health facility. Permissions were given from the district and the nearest health facility. Three visitations were done for determination, education, and evaluation steps. The personal education during this program shows a positive impact on the own responsibility of self adherence under drug regimen. Generally, medical examination on blood pressure, blood glucose, and others are better after effective education of this program. Education output of this program is useful to increase patient’s adherence to drug regimen and healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) patients generally have co-morbidities, which allows many drugs to be prescribed. The increasing combination of drugs used can lead to an increased risk of drug interactions, which potentially affect the success of patient treatment therapy. This study aims to determine the potential for drug interactions that occur in the treatment of inpatient UTI patients at Inche Abdoel Moeis Samarinda Hospital for the 2021 period. This research is a retrospective descriptive study using a purposive sampling technique and the mechanism of drug interactions and the severity of the interaction are analyzed using Drug Interaction Checker on the drug.com website and the Medscape app. The results of the study of 45 medical records of UTI patients who met the inclusion requirements showed that there were 14 potential drug interactions found with potential pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic mechanisms, and there were results of the severity of drug interactions consisting of minor, moderate, and major. Keywords: Urinary tract infection; Drug interactions; Inpatient Abstrak Pasien Infeksi Saluran Kemih (ISK) umumnya memiliki penyakit penyerta sehingga memungkinkan banyak obat yang diresepkan. Meningkatnya kombinasi obat yang digunakan dapat menyebabkan peningkatan risiko terjadinya interaksi obat, yang secara potensial mempengaruhi keberhasilan terapi pengobatan pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi interaksi obat yang terjadi pada terapi pengobatan pasien ISK rawat inap di Rumah Sakit Inche Abdoel Moeis Samarinda periode tahun 2021. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif secara retrospektif dengan teknik purposive sampling serta mekanisme interaksi obat dan tingkat keparahan interaksi dianalisis menggunakan Drug Interaction Checker pada situs drug.com dan aplikasi Medscape. Dari hasil penelitian 45 rekam medik pasien ISK yang telah memenuhi syarat inklusi menunjukan bahwa terdapat potensi interaksi obat yang ditemukan sebanyak 14 kejadian dengan mekanisme potensi interaksi secara farmakokinetik dan farmakodinamik, serta terdapat hasil tingkat keparahan interaksi obat yang terdiri dari minor, moderate, dan mayor.
