Abstract

The low of health community status for this time is still health problems in Indonesia, marked with the high maternalmortality and infant mortality rate. According to health survey, there are still many indicators of maternal, newbornand child health (MNCH), show low achievement. The aim of this study was to find the situation of MNCH servicesand to describe determining factors of the problems in Riau Province. Method of this research was a descriptive designwith quantitative and qualitative data. Result obtained in this research described that some indicators of MNCH servicesperformance were achievable and some were not. The profile of community on health behavior about maternal healthwas shown with good knowledge, neutral attitude, and good practice. Then, the profile of community health behaviorabout newborn and child health was shown with middle level of knowledge, positive attitude, and good practice. Keyperson, mostly categorized as a decision maker for health action was husband/wife. Viewed from quickly action onresponse of sick/unhealthy family members for MNCH services indicated that there was not late decision. There werestill many communities’ beliefs, not match with health value, especially for MNCH.

Abstract

Dengue Hemoraggic Fever (DHF) can be controlled with active participation of the communityas Indonesia Government promotes Gerakan 3M. To assess the knowledge attitudes aboutdengue and practice of prevention followed by the residents, an interview based cross sectionalKAP study was undertaken in several DHF endemic subdistricts of Pekanbaru in Mei 08 to Nov08. About 111 individuals were interviewed regarding the different aspects of the DHF. Thepretest result showed that out of total respondents, 44% and 77.5% had good knowledge andattitude about Gerakan 3M though only 4.5% practiced Gerakan 3M. To all of respondents,intervention was made by giving health education, and vector control demonstration. After 1week intervention, out of total respondents the level of knowledge and attitude increasedsignificantly to 76% and 83.3% regarding modes of transmission of disease and its prevention.However, only 1% respondents practiced that. This study concluded that the intervention ofGerakan 3M Information Education Communication is effectively to increase communityknowledge and attitude status, but regularly intervention is still needed by community forprevention and control of Dengue/Dengue haemorrhagic fever in practice level.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the important aspects in development of children in toddler age is toilet training. The right knowledge and attitude of mother’s are really needed in toilet training. The purposes of this study were to describe mother’s knowledge and attitude about implementation of toilet training in children aged 1-3 years. This study was conducted at Posyandu (Integrated Health Service Center) Working Area, Sukamaju Village, Sail District, Pekanbaru City. This study was done by using descriptive method and cross sectional approach. The sample consisted of 56 mothers of toddlers. This data was collected by doing an interview which using a questionnaire. The result of this research showed that majority of mothers have adequate knowledge (73,2%), neutral attitude (67,9%) and already implemented toilet training (67,9%). Most children (44,7%) in this study were toilet trained before the age of 18 months and the most characteristic of mothers who implemented toilet training were mothers age 20-35 years (64,3%), senior high school (39,3%), housewife (57,1%) and having ≤2 child (62,5%). This study has been shown that boys (39,3%) were toilet trained have higher frequency than girls. Most mothers who implemented toilet training have adequate knowledge (48,2%) and neutral attitude (46,4%).Keywords : Knowledge, attitude, implementation, toilet training, toddler

Abstract

ABSTRACTDoctor and nurse have a high risk for contracting TB because often dealing directly with patients. Data in Africa Country (84%) health workers infected TB. Data estimated Malaysia about incidence of TB among health workers has also risen in 2008 (80.59%), 2009 (71.42%) and 2010 (97.86%). Prevention can be done if they have good knowledge, attitude and practice about prevention of TB transmission. The Purpose of this study was to be describe behavior doctor and nurse about prevention transmition TB disease. This research was held in twenty primary health Pekanbaru Citty by using descriptive method with cross sectional approach. Samples in this study were doctor and nurse in primary health Pekanbaru. The samples consisted of 128 respondents. The respondents in this study aged 35-45 years at most that doctors (50.0%) and nurses (51.6%), the majority of which are female doctors (95.8%) and nurses (97.5%), educated bachelor degree doctor (100%) and diploma 3 in nurse (67 %). The results of this study, the levelof knowledge in the category of good, that doctors (97.9%) and nurses (97.5%), while a positive attitude in the category of physician (85.4%) and nurses (82.5%), while the action obtained in the category enough that a doctor (100%) and nurses(100%).Keywords: Knowledge, attitudes, practice, behaviors, prevention of TB transmission

Abstract

One of important aspect to support optimal health care improvement is the availability of health worker who have professional conduct, especially in coastal region. It is due to the low level of public health in the most of the coastal region in Indonesia. Needs of the professional health workers in the coastal region are in the health care center as the first strata health care centers area that become advance in providing services. Exploration method with qualitative approaches was applied as the research design. Seven health care workers of Puskesmas Sungai Sembilan Dumai City were selected as responden by using snowball sampling method. Data were collected by using interview method recorded with an audio recorder. The result of this research showed that all the informants possess altruism, accountability, excellence, honor and integrity. duty and respect for other.Key word : professional behavior, health-care workers

Abstract

About 50%-70% of case that come to a hospital especially to theemergency room are physical trauma or injuries cases. The quality of VeR servicedirectly reflect medicolegal services in hospital because it has broad impactjuridical and can determine one’s fate. This research were done to find out thequality of VeR of injury in Dumai General Hospital during 1 January 2008-31December 2012. This is a descriptive retrospective research. It used Herkutantosscoring method. The sample was all of population were the VeR data in DumaiGeneral Hospital during 1 January 2008-31 December 2012 that were completeand has been signed by the doctor who did the examination. It had been gotten166 VeR reports in Dumai General Hospital during 1 January 2008-31 December2012. Injury survivors most cases are in the age group <18 years old as many as55 victims (33,1%). The overview of the living victims were most frequent malewas 131 victims (78,9%) and the most frequent violence that were experienced bythe victims were blunt violence was 154 VeR (92,8%) with the highest age group<18 years old. About 90% showed good quality in preliminary unit of VeR,44,15% showed poor quality in reporting unit and about 26,65% also showedpoor quality in inference unit. It can be concluded that quality of VeR reports inDumai General Hospital during 1 January 2008-31 December 2012 was 37,46%which was mean it was poor quality.Keywords: Visum et Repertum, injury, the quality of Visum et Repertum of injury

Abstract

ABSTRACTWater spring in Bukit Sikumbang Desa Pulau Sarak Kecamatan Kampar are used by people in the village to be sourced of drinking water. The water springs are appear from the land naturraly. The study aims to knowed bacteriological's quality of the drinking water from Bukit Sikumbang Desa Pulau Sarak Kecamatan Kampar's Water Springs. The method of this study was laboratoric description, the bacterological test had been collecting from 10 drinking water managing that sourced from Bukit Sikumbang's water springs by tap water that patch in distribution tub. The result showed that 100% sample contaminated by Coliform and 50% sample had positif result for containing Escherichia coli, so it did not fulfill the standart for health that had been established by Department of Health of Republic of Indonesia in "Permenkes" number: 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010.Keywords: water springs, water quality, drinking water, Coliform, Escherichia coli

Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) classified tuberculosis (TB) as global emergency at the end of 1993. Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS) is a direct supervision for short-term treatment, recommended by the World Health Organization for the world TB prevention. The Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) in 2015 is to reduce the number of deaths caused by tuberculosis for 50%. To achieve the target, program policy against tuberculosis improvement and evaluation will be needed. Evaluation in this research done by using two nasional indicators, which are success rate (national targets should be at least 85%) and conversion rate (national targets should be at least 80%). This research was using mixed methods with quantitative and qualitative approachment. Samples was taken by total sampling method, where 304 people have obtained as quantitative research samples and 3 people as qualitative research samples. Research results showed that the success rate at the end of 2009 and 2012 was 94%, in 2010 was 93%, in 2011 was 86%, and in 2008 was 77%. While the conversion rate at the end of 2011 was 96%, in 2012 was 94%, in 2009 was 91%, in 2008 was 89%, and in 2010 was 82%. It can be concluded that success rate in General Hospital Arifin Achmad Riau Province in 2008 have not reached national targets yet, but in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 have exceeded national targets. The conversion in General Hospital Arifin Achmad Riau Province at the end of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and in 2012 have exceeded national targets.Key words : Tuberculosis (TB), Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS), success rate, conversion rate

Abstract

The professional behaviors is a vision of healthy Indonesian in improving the health services, therefore the medical-care need to improve their professional behaviors. The aim of this research was to describe the professional behaviors of the healthcare medical-care that assessed based on the six elements of professionalism. The success of the effort of the health services is not separated from the professional behaviors of the medical-care themselves. This research used exploration method with a qualitative approach in six community health center’s staff selected by Snowball sampling. The data were collected by using interviews and recorded with an audio recorder. The results showed that all informants contain altruism, accountability, duty, honor and integrity, respect for others and one of the six informants did not contain excellence. Based on the results of this research, the value of altruism, accountability, duty, honor and integrity, excellence, respect for others in Puskesmas Alai Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti staff can be seen from the statements and the attitude of the health workers everyday.Key word : professional behavior, health workers, altruism, accountability, duty, honor and integrity, excellence, respect for others

Abstract

Regional Secretariat employees of Riau Province is a part of the community groups working that have some risk factors of the occurrence of dislipidemia. Their job allows the occurrence of changes in lifestyle such as unhealthy sedentary life style, lack of time to do physical activities, consume fast food and a lot of fat, sugar and salt as well as having a higher risk of stress. The purpose of this research is to find out the lipid profile on Regional Secretariat employees of Riau Province. This research uses the descriptive design with cross sectional approach. By the consecutive sampling method obtained 44 samples, one of them dropped out. The research results obtained 62.78% had normal total cholesterol levels, 30.2% had normal LDLcholesterol levels, 62.8% had normal levels of HDL cholesterol and 86.03% had normal triglyceride levels. However, only 11.6% of the total sample research had normal value from the fourth components of lipid. From the results it can be concluded that 88.4% of respondents experienced dislipidemia, although there is only one of the fourth lipid components is abnormal.Key words :lipid profile, Regional Secretariat employees of Riau Province, LDL cholesterol, dyslipidemia
