Abstract

The principal's leadership style is a pattern of consistent behavior that is shown by the leader and known to other parties when the leader tries to influence the activities of others. The research objective was to determine the leadership style of the principal, including; (1) discipline; (2) commitment; (3) ability and (4) teacher responsibility. Qualitative approach with descriptive method, data collection techniques carried out by interview guidelines, observation guidelines, and documentation studies. Subjects of the study were principals, teachers and supervisors at Elementary School 25 Pulau Rimau. The results of the study were found; (1) the principal's leadership style in improving teacher discipline, is the style of telling (telling), in addition to style telling, the principal also applies a situational style; (2) the principal's leadership style in increasing teacher commitment is the style of selling (consultative) by directing the teacher to complete the task; (3) the principal's leadership style in enhancing the ability of the teacher, namely the participatory style that is applied during the internal meeting of the teacher council and other meetings; and (4) the principal's leadership style in increasing teacher responsibility, is a delegative style, namely sharing authority with members to carry out organizational tasks. It is hoped that supervisors and principals can provide encouragement and direction in work on discipline, commitment, ability and responsibility of teachers effectively and efficiently to improve work in schools.

Abstract

Abstrak: Untuk memenuhi tuntutan kemajuan tehnologi dan pertumbuhan ekonomi global, Pendidikan Nasional di tuntut untuk memiliki standar pendidikan yang bermutu dan dapat menjawab tantangan global. Oleh karena itu setiap lembaga pendidikan memerlukan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten agar dapat memberikan pelayanan dan meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah dengan wawancara, observasi, studi berita, studi hasil penelitian dan teori-teori terkait pengembangan sumber daya manusia. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa SMK Bina Jaya Kecamatan Kertapati Palembang dalam meningkatkan sumber daya manusia pendidikan di SMK Bina Jaya Kecamatan Kertapati Palembang maka dilakukan program pelatihan dan penataran yang berkelanjutan pada guru. Pelatihan yang diperlukan adalahpelatihan yang mengacu pada tuntutan kompetensi guru. Pelatihan yang dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk mengangkat kembali kinerja para guru yang telah mengalami penurunan. Adapun kendala dalam pengembangan sumber daya manusia pendidikan antara lain adalah belum meratanya guru yang mengikuti pelatihan dan kurangnya pengetahuan guru dalam bidang informasi teknologi (IT).Sedangkan solusi untuk menghadapi kendala tersebut adalah selenggarakan program pelatihan profesi guru (PLPG) yang bertujuan menciptakan guru yang professional serta Uji Kompetensi Guru (UKG). Pemerintah harus memperbaiki LPTK sebagai penghasil guru, serta menggiatkan pelatihan ketrampilan dalam bidang informasi teknologi (IT).Kata Kunci: Sumber Daya Manusia, Faktor Penentu, Mutu Pendidikan.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSIBudaya organisasi mempengaruhi perilaku organisasi untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi. Pengembangan budaya organisasi dimulai dari kesepakatan dan komitmen para pimpinan organisasi yang kemudian dirumuskan dalam visi dan misi organisasi, serta ditransformasikan pada semua fihak yang berkepentingan, termasuk para pegawai dan semua yang berhubungan dengan organisasi tersebut. Visi dan misi yang ditransformasikan kepada para pegawai merupakansuatu konsep diri organisasi yang diselaraskan dengan konsep diri individu pegawai, sehingga akan berdampak pada budaya kerja yang membentuk motivasi kerja yang tinggi dalam rangka meningkatkan dan mencapai tujuan organisasi.Kata Kunci : Budaya Organisasi, Komitmen dan Transformasi.

Abstract

Currently, happened the competition of universities both state (PTN) and private (PTS) in Indonesia for gaining students. This study aimed at analyzing the promotional strategies, effectiveness, and inhibiting factors of promotion by using mixed method. Subjects in this study consisted of promotion team and prospective new students in PGRI University of Palembang as many as 53 people. Data were collected through interview and questionnaire, then analyzed by using data triangulation technique and regression test technique. The results showed that the promotion strategy undertaken by PGRI University of Palembang was Advertising, Personal Selling, Publicity, and Word of Mouth. Partial advertisement is the most influential variable (34,4%) whereas the least influence variable was Publicity (19,3%). Advertising Variables, Personal Selling, Publicity, and Word of Mouth simultaneously have a significant effect on the increase of the students by 65.6% while the remaining 34.4% was influenced by other variables. The inhibiting factors of promotional activities were insufficient promotional funds, lack of human resources in the field of communication science, as well as interpersonal communication that is less harmonic among employees. Keywords: Promotional Strategies; the Increase of the Students, PGRI Univerity of Palembang

Abstract

Indonesia is currently in a multidimensional crisis, the moral shift of teenagers is very significant, if it is not immediately anticipated, it will have an impact on the destruction of a State. In order to overcome it, it  is very necessary that the values of the characters are implemented on learners early, so that they have a life prinsiple in building and continuing the journey of this country. One of the most credible concepts of education as a solution of primodialism is character education. SMP Negeri 1 Teluk Gelam has conducted character education to minimize the perimodialism attitude. Because the generation that is prepared now is a generation that will continue the establishment of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. The research used qualitative research method of ethnography by describing character education conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Teluk Gelam namely (1) Aperception which is associated with religious values by every subject teacher 5 minutes before learning begins; (2) Applying discipline; (3) Implementation; (4) Habituation activities; (5) cooperation with Tanjung Lubuk Polsekta in guiding the students; (6) Active communication with parents.

Abstract

This qualitative research was done to describe the leadership characteristic of PT Energi Sejahtera Mas Dumai. We used interview and documentation to collect the data. The interview was done with the two ESM officers. The documentation was done to record the interview. The results obtained indicate that the leader of ESM had the following characters: charismatics, respect to people, discipline, wisdom, sincere, empowering unity, developing officers’ responsibility, encouragingi, and emphaty.  Keyword: Leadership Characteristic, PT Energi Sejahtera Mas, Dumai

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out how much the influence of education and training on the productivity of production employees at PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk Palembang; in a manner partially and simultaneously. The research method used was descriptive quantitative. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. The sample designation technique was carried out by purposive sampling. The conclusions of this study are (1) Education Variables have no significant effect on the work productivity of production section employees. (2) Training variables proved to have a positive effect on Employee productivity at PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk Palembang. (3) If the two variables are tested simultaneously education and training have a significant influence on employee work productivity. (4) The results show that education and training affect work productivity by 22.1%, and the remaining 77.9% is influenced by other variables. Based on the results of the calculation shows the multiple linear regression equation, namely: Y = 2.281 + 0.247 + 0.478. The regression coefficient is positive, so it can be said that the direction of influence of education and training is a positive influence.

Abstract

This study aimed at developing a module of teachers’ professionalism based effective teachers’ theory which valid, practical and effective. The development of this module used ADDIE Model. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 7,15 and 35 Palembang. Data were collected through observation, interview, questionnaire, and test. The data were analyzed by using qualitative and quantitative approach. The results showed that teachers have started to know and understand how to manage the classroom effectively after they gain insight from the module on teachers professionalism based on effective teachers’ theory. The module was also valid, practical and effective after being tested.

Abstract

Abstract—Principal has a very important role in school management. High and low quality of the school can not be separated from the role of the Principal. Qualified or professional principals are able to show good performance and have an impact on improving the quality of the school they lead, therefore it is highly demandedby the principal's support in managing and managing all available resources including managing the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program. The purpose of this study was to determine the School Literacy Movement Program (GLS) in SMP Negeri 9 Prabumulih and the support given by the school principal. This research is a type of qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, documentation, and interviews. The effort to implement literacy has been developed by the Head of SMP Negeri 9 Prabumulih by various ways including the program to enter the library once a week, collection of books in the library, reading corners, making reading halls, wall magazines, selection of reading ambassadors, and putting up posters about literacy and bring a mobile library from the Prabumulih City Library. The School Literacy Movement (GLS) program has been running well even though it still requires more tangible and continuous follow-up. The benefits of this research are in addition to knowledge, references or contributions of ideas to add insight into the world of education. Keyword—-School Literacy Movement (GLS), school principal support Abstrak—Kepala Sekolah memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam pengelolaan sekolah. Tinggi rendahnya kualitas sekolah tidak lepas dari peran Kepala Sekolah. Kepala Sekolah yang berkualitas atau profesional mampu menunjukkan kinerja yang baik dan berdampak pada meningkatnya kualitas sekolah yang dipimpinnya, karena itu sangat dituntut dukungan kepala sekolah dalam mengatur dan mengelola semua sumber daya yang ada termasuk mengelola program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS).Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) di SMP Negeri 9 Prabumulih serta dukungan yang diberikan kepala sekolah.Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara.Upaya pelaksanaan literasi sudah dikembangkan oleh Kepala SMP Negeri 9 Prabumulih dengan melakukan berbagai cara yaitu antaralain programmasuk perpustakaa nsetiap satu minggu sekali, koleksi buku di perpustakaan, pojok baca,  membuat pondok baca, majalah dinding, pemilihan duta baca, dan memasang poster tentang literasi serta mendatangkan perpustakaan keliling dari Perpustakaan Kota Prabumulih. Program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) ini telah berjalan dengan baik meskipun begitu masih memerlukan tindak lanjut yang lebih nyata dan berkesinambungan. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah sebagai tambahan ilmu pengetahuan,rujukanatausumbangan pemikiran untuk menambah wawasan dalam dunia pendidikan. Kata Kunci—Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS), dukungan kepala sekolah

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini menganalisis pengelolaan sarana dan prasarana pendidikan di SD Negeri 20 Tanjung Raja. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa pengelolaan sarana dan prasarana pendidikan di SDN 20 Tanjung Raja kabupaten ogan Ilir dimulai dari tahap perencanaan yang hasilnya sudah optimal, pengadaan sudah optimal, pendistribusian sudah optimal, penggunaan belum optimal dilakukan. Pemeliharaan kurang terkoordinasi dengan baik daninventarisasi proses penghapusan sarana dan prasarana jarang sekali dilkukan.
