Abstract

A nation was formed with the ultimate aim of prospering the people who were part ofthe country. But foreign aid is a really strange phenomenon. A country consciously provide itsresources to improve the living conditions of people from other countries. Moral cause as theleader of countries in the world is the reason often announced every time the foreign assistanceis given. In fact, the often said foreign aid based on morality provide a form of reciprocityafterwards, such as political support, military base licensing, market expansion, and so on. Anoverseas aid program will go through a long process determined by the donor country (giver)such as which country will get it, how much the value of the foreign assistance is given, howlong is the aid-giving periods, and how to give it, in bilateral or multilateral. So is the casewith the food aid program “Feed the Future” given by the United States to the country ofSenegal in 2010-2015. Although on the surface, United States aid appears to have a goal tosolve Senegal’s food problems, but the United States has another big goal behind it. Resonancewith the theory expressed by Lancaster that one of the goals of providing foreign aid is as adiplomatic means in achieving interests in other countries, it is certain that the United Stateswill benefit from Senegal. Judging from the time of the provision of foreign aid which coincidedwith the issuance of the United States strategy in combating terrorism, it was certain thatforeign aid would reciprocate in the form of Senegal’s support for the national interests of theUnited States to combat violent groups in the West African region.Keywords: Foreign aid, National interests, Violent groups in West Africa, Food scarcity

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research aims to know the reflections of the types of social interaction in novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. The writer uses qualitative method, and then describing the result in descriptively. The theories that are used in this research are character analysis by Edgar V. Roberts and social interaction by Georg Simmel. First, the writer identifies character?s dialogues and acts, and then classifying all the data into types of social interaction that Georg Simmel divides into 5 types, which are Exchange, Conflict, Domination, Prostitution and Sociability. There are two questions that the writer forms as the statements of problem of this research, which are 1.) What are types of social interactions that found in novel ?Wuthering Heights? by Emily Bronte? 2.) How the type of social interaction reflected in novel ?Wuthering Heights? by Emily Bronte? Based on the research, the writer just found 4 types of social interaction in this novel, they are Exchange, Conflict, Domination and Sociability. There are no found any data about Prostitution. This data are taken from 3 major characters of this novel. The characters are Heathcliff, as the main character, Cathy, a female character whom Heathcliff falls in love with, and Hindley, a character whom motivates Heathcliff to take revenge. Abstract

ABSTRAKDi Kota Kendari kualitas pendidikan dan sumber daya manusia cenderung rendah. Kota Kendari membutuhkan suatu tempat untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dan sumber daya manusia. Dengan demikian, pusat lembaga kursus dan pelatihan dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat. Pusat lembaga kursus ini ditujukan sebagai pusat kegiatan pendidikan kursus dan pelatihan. Penelitian ini ditujukan sebagai berikut: (1) untuk membuat desain proses arsitektur; (2) untuk membuat konsep perancangan arsitektur dan; (3) untuk mentranformasikan konsep pada desain fisik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan grounded theory. Data dikumpulkan sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Data diambil dengan cara observasi, survei, dan studi literatur. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis triangulasi. Penelitian ini disimpulkan sebagai berikut; (1) desain proses didapatkan dengan tema book align with flexibility (buku selaras dengan fleksibilitas); (2) book align with flexibility ditransformasikan pada konsep perancangan arsitektur; (3) konsep book align with flexibility ditransformasikan ke bentuk bangunan dengan konsep arsitektur metafora.Kata kunci: metafora, pusat lembaga kursus dan pelatihan Kata Kunci: Metafora, pusat lembaga kursus dan pelatihan ABSTRACT In Kendari City the quality of education and human resources tends to be low. Kendari City needs a place to improve the quality of education and human resources. Thus, the center of the course and training institutions is needed by the community. The center of the institution is intended as a center for training courses and training activities. This research is intended as follows: (1) to make architectural process designs; (2) to make architectural design concepts and; (3) to transform concepts in physical design. This study uses a qualitative method with a grounded theory approach. Data is collected in accordance with the research objectives. Data is taken by observation, survey and literature study. Data were analyzed by triangulation analysis techniques. This research is summarized as follows; (1) process design is obtained with the theme book align with flexibility; (2) book align with flexibility is transformed into architectural design concepts; (3) the concept of book align with flexibility is transformed into building forms with the concept of metaphoric architecture.Key words: metaphoric, the course and training institutions Keywords: Metaphoric, the course and training institutions

Abstract

In recent years the discussion about leadership in public sector has become an interesting topic which has attracted attention from many people with various backgrounds. In public sector, the demand for a great leader has also rapidly increased among society due to the need to provide the effectiveness of policy, resources allocation, time management and mobilizing participation. In Indonesia, forestry is seen as one of vulnerable sectors that need better leadership due to the failure of effective policy implementation such as massive illegal logging, forest fires or other problems causing deforestation. This study aims at analyzing the influence of Intelligence of Transglobal Leadership toward Good Governance-Based Forest Management by applying quantitative approach with survey method conducted in Community Forest (HTR) area over 26 Provinces in Indonesia covering regions from Aceh to Papua. The finding of this inquiry indicates significant influence of intelligence of transglobal leadership toward good governance based forest management by positive value of 0.359 on its coefficient structural model and 2.38 on Critical Ratio. It can be inferred that the intelligence of tranglobal leadership is essential for policy maker within forestry sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tectona grandis is an annual woody plant that has high economic value in trade commodities. Tectona grandis were usually produced in a conventional way using seed. However, large quantities of seed production in a given time become limited because of an outer layer of a hard seed. The success of tissue cultures is influenced by some factors, among which nutrients composition and plant growth regulator balance as a media component. Plant growth regulator which is used as a media component of tissue culture is the cytokinin  and auksin. The aim of this research is to identify the concentration of kinetin and BAP (Benzyl Amino Purine) concentration is the best for Tectona grandis. The research was carried out for three months, from October to December 2019, located in The Biotechnology Laboratory of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. The research was utilizes completely randomized design, with 6 handling of BAP 1 mg, BAP 2 mg, BAP 3 mg, Kinetin 1 mg, Kinetin 2 mg dan Kinetin 3 mg. The result of observation shown giving handles BAP and Kinetin have a distinct effect on seedling Tectona grandis growth by in vitro. Besides the other treatment, kinetin 2 mg provides the best response that is emerge bud (5.1) of the day, the number of shoots (1.6) of shoots and the number of leaves (4) of sheets.Keywords: Tissue Culture, Tectona grandis, Kinetin

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work environment, work culture, work motivation, job satisfaction, work discipline, and work stress on employee performance. This type of research is quantitative research. The research sample was 63 employees of PT. Hasjrat Abadi Palu. The results of regression analysis show that the work environment, work culture, job satisfaction, and job stress partially have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, work motivation and work discipline do not have a significant effect on employee performance. The results can be used as a source of information in determining company policies to improve employee performance. In addition, these findings can be used as a reference for further research interested in discussing employee performance.
