Abstract

Abstrak. Dalam kuliah kalkulus modern, materi tentang pendifferensialan (turunan fungsi) dan konstruksi garis singgung terhadap suatu kurva diberikan terlebih dahulu daripada materi integral dan penentuan luas daerah di bawah suatu kurva. Hal ini berlawanan dengan urutan sejarah perkembangannnya. Penentuan luas daerah yang dibatasi oleh beberapa kurva telah ditemukan pada zaman kuno. Dalam tulisan ini membahas awal konstruksi garis singgung dan penentuan luas daerah yang dibatasi oleh suatu kurva yang pertama kali dibahas oleh Fermat. Kerja Fermat telah memberikan dasar bagi konsep kalkulus modern, khususnya pendifferensialan dan integral. Selain itu, Fermat dikenal sebagai orang yang memiliki kemampuan luar biasa dalam teori bilangan, antara lain dengan Fermat’s Little Theorem dan Fermat’s Last Theorem.Kata kunci: konstruksi garis singgung, luas daerah, differensial, dan integral, teori fermat. Abstrak. In modern calculus course, the material on derivative of the function and the construction of the tangent to the curve given first than the material on the integral and determining the area under a curve. This is contrary to the historical development. Determination of the area has been limited by several curves have been found in ancient times. In this paper discusses the start of construction of the tangent line and determining the area bounded by a curve that was first discussed by Fermat. Work Fermat has provided the basis for the concept of modern calculus, especially derivative and integral. In addition, Fermat is known as a person who has a remarkable ability in number theory, among others, by Fermats Little Theorem and Fermats Last Theorem.Keywords: construction of a tangent, wide areas, derivative and integral, Fermat Theory.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of countries that has high quantity of people but low in quality. It is shown from the low rating in human development index. Thus, the quality improvement i.e. educational improvement should be implemented effectively. Reading is one of the most crucial element in the field of education.  The low rating of reading interest among Indonesian people becomes a tremendous issue which needs to be solved. To tackle, government implements the reading movement as contained in Act of the Republic of Indonesia number 20 of 2003 and ruled by Ministry of Culture and Education (Permendikbud) number 23 of 2015 about 15 minutes of literacy activities prior to the beginning of the study session. The study aims to identify the university students’ reading interest in University of Bangka Belitung as well as to examine the determinant and the obstacle of the university students’ reading interest. Structured questionnaire and online data collection methods were employed to obtain the primary data from 182 university students in University of Bangka Belitung, Indonesia. The study showed that the reading interest of university students in University of Bangka Belitung were at low score. About one-third of the respondents visited library once a week, one-fourth visited library twice a week and only 8.3 % of the respondents visited library 4 – 5 times a week. Almost one-fourth of respondents had 1 – 4 reading materials. Around half of respondents read less than an hour a day. As the determinant of book reading and library attendance, 61.3 % of the respondents were due to do assignment while only 16 % of respondents were due to habit and need to read. Whereas, as the obstacle to reading, almost half of respondents preferred using gadget, around one-fourth of respondents spent their times with friends and 39.2 % of respondents were too busy with their extracurricular activities on campus.

Abstract

The advanced technology has driven society to the new civilization: human civilization of new media. Currently, the new media can facilitate human beings in maintaining the relationship among them. Social media is one of examples of a well-known new media. The study aims to analyze the role of new media in constructing the users’ identity. The Qualitative phenomenological research was employed to conduct the study. Observation and interview were applied to collect the data. The function of Youtube has transformed from the platform of exchanging information through video to the platform of constructing the users’ identity. It occurs when viewers of Youtube participate actively in following the particular content that forms viewers’ identity based on content they watch. Finally, the identity construction formed by the viewers of Youtube leads to the fake identity and create the inappropriate values or social norms of society.

Abstract

[English]: This study aims to determine the level of lower secondary school students’ ability in solving mathematical word problems and how much both mathematical modelling ability and verbal ability influence the ability to solve word problems in the implementation of Kurikulum 2013 (Curriculum 2013). This study involved 411 students as samples determined by stratified proportional random sampling technique. The test used was declared valid through construct validity and reliability with Cronbach's alpha. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. Descriptively, the students' ability in solving mathematical word problems was classified as medium. Meanwhile, inferentially, results were obtained indicating that: (1) students' verbal ability is significantly influential on the ability to solve word problems by 47.6%; (2) the students’ ability in mathematical modelling is significantly influential on the ability to solve word problems by 84.6%; and (3) students' verbal and mathematical modelling abilities are significantly influential on the ability to solve word problems by 87.8%. This indicates that the increase in students' ability to solve mathematical word problems will be more optimal if the verbal ability and the mathematical modelling ability are considered simultaneously, rather than focusing on one ability only.  Keywords: Verbal ability, Mathematical modelling, word problems, Curriculum 2013  [Bahasa]: Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan tingkat kemampuan siswa SMP menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika dan seberapa besar pengaruh kemampuan membuat model matematika dan verbal terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita pada pelaksaaan kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini melibatkan 411 siswa sebagai sampel yang ditentukan melalui teknik stratified porposional random sampling. Tes yang digunakan dinyatakan valid melalui uji validitas konstruk dan reliabel dengan Alpha Cronbach. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Secara deskriptif, kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika masih tergolong sedang. Sedangkan secara inferensial diperoleh hasil bahwa (1) kemampuan verbal siswa berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita, dengan kemampuan verbal 47,6%; 2) kemampuan siswa dalam membuat model matematika berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita, dengan kemampuan membuat model matematika 84,6%; 3) kemampuan verbal dan membuat model matematika siswa berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita, dengan kemampuan verbal dan membuat model matematika sebesar 87,8%. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika akan lebih optimal jika kemampuan verbal dan kemampuan membuat model matematika diperhatikan secara bersamaan dibandingkan hanya fokus pada salah satu kemampuan saja. Abstract

Dalam pengembangan suatu usaha perlu dilakukan suatu model bisnis yang dikenal dengan Business Model Canvas. Dalam model bisnis ini perusahaan bercerita tentang kondisi internal maupun eksternal perusahaan. Adapun bisnis model canvas perusahaan menampilkan model blok/elemen bisnis yang terdiri dari sembilan elemen. Pendekatan ini digunakan untuk menerapkan implementasi Business Model Canvas di UKM“Raja Abon Makmur Lestari” Kota Pangkalpinang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi model bisnis produk abon menggunakan analisis Business Model Canvas. Data didapatkan dalam penelitian ini hasil wawancara dengan kuesioner terhadap pemilik, dua orang karyawan serta konsumen abon sebanyak 30 orang di kota Pangkalpinang serta hasil studi literatur pendukung. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah setiap elemen yang diidentifikasi telah dipertajam dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT. Dari analisis tersebut diketahui bahwa diperlukan perbaikan pada hampir semua elemen model bisnis dalam usaha raja abon makmur lestari. Perbaikan model bisnis raja abon makmur lestari terfokus kepada perbaikan kegiatan pemasaran. Terutama melalui media online guna meningkatkan pendapatan.  Business model canvas is known as an approach in business development and used as a business model. It describes about a condition of internal and external of organization.  It also shows the business element which consists of nine elements. The approach is applied on the business model canvas in a small medium enterprise which is called as “Raja Abon Makmur Lestari” in Pangkalpinang City. The study aims to evaluate the business model of the product using business model canvas analysis. The data was collected through the interview using questionnaire towards the owner, two staffs and 30 customers in Pangkalpinang City and other related articles or documents. The study revealed that every identified element has been emphasized using SWOT analysis. It stated that it required the improvement on every single element of business model in Raja Abon Makmur Lestari. The improvement of business model of Raja Abon Makmur Lestari prioritized on the improvement of marketing activity especially throuh the online media in order to increase the income.

Abstract

The metric dimension is a concept that has many applications, such as robotic navigation. This concept will distinguish each vertex of a graph based on some vertices. The distinguishing vertices are called the basis of the graph. Let G be a connected graph, the metric dimension, dim(G), is the smallest cardinality of the basis of graph G. On this paper, we present the metric dimensions of the bridge graph of a homogeneous caterpillar graph Cm,n and a generalized flower pot graph $C_p-K_{(q_1, q_2,\cdos,q_p}$. This research was conducted by the approach of structure analysis by location of the bridge vertices, the edge of the bridge, and the order of the graph. The results show that the metric dimensions of the bridge graph are at least can be reduced at most 2, and the maximum values are the same as the value of $m(n-1)+ \sum_{i=1}^p q_i- 2p$.Keywords: Metric dimension, caterpillar, unicyclic, bridgeMSC2020: 05C12
