Abstract

Introduction: Knowledge and skill of school age children is still lack about first aid of wound. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of role play methodtowards knowledge and wound first aid skill on student. The aim of experiment is to study the effect of role play method towards knowledge and wound first aid skill on student.Methods: The design used in this study was quasi-experimental quasi-eksperimental pretest-posttest control group design. The samples were gathered using simple random sampling method consisted of 50 students based on the inclusion criteria which were divided into experimental and control groups. The independent variable was  health education using role play methods and the dependent variables were knowledge and first aid wound skill. The data were analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney U Test with level significance α<0,05.Results: The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test results showed that there were enhancement for knowledge (p=0.000) and first aid wound skill(p=0.000) for post intervention toward the experimental group. These data were strengthened by the result of Mann Whitney U Test statistical analysis that showed the significant differences for knowledge (p=0.000) and action application of open wounds care (p=0.000).Conclusion: It can be concluded that health education using role play methods affected knowledge and wound first aid skill on student. The suggestion for the further experiment is to compare role play methods with other health education methods to find out effective methods of health education for student.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Bencana alam dapat mempengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis dan kesehatan mental orang. Jika anak tidak memiliki ketahanan yang baik, mereka akan dipengaruhi oleh peristiwa traumatis yang awalnya menunjukkan fenomena reaktif, sehingga mereka dapat melanjutkan dan mengarah pada gangguan psikologis. Tujuan penelitian yaitu menggambarkan resiliensi anak usia sekolah pasca bencana gunung kelud.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Total sampel adalah 56 responden. Variabel independen adalah resiliensi. Variabel dependen adalah bencana gunung kelud. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistic chi-square.Hasil: Secara umum kemampuan resliensi anak usia sekolah pasca bencana gunung kelud di SD Negeri Penataran 02 menunjukkan kemampuan yang baik pada aspek pengendalian impuls, analisis kausal, self-efficacy, empati, dan optimis, sedangkan kemampuan yang tergolong rendah adalah regulasi emosi dan reaching out.Kesimpulan: Ketahanan dapat ditingkatkan melalui perubahan regulasi emosi, kontrol impuls, analisis kausal, self-efficacy, optimisme, empati, dan peningkatan kemampuan positif. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya, diharapkan untuk fokus pada faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi ketahanan anak.Kata Kunci: ketahanan; sekolah; anak-anak; bencana.

Abstract

Introduction: Pain in the neonate may result in negative behavior, physiology and metabolic responses. This study aims to analyze the behavior of nurses in the implementation of non-pharmacological pain management in neonates who performed minor invasive action with the approach of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB).Methods: This research was a descriptive study of analysis with research design cross sectional. The population of this study were nurses working in the neonatal ward and neonatal intensive care unit dr. Soetomo general Hospital Surabaya. Total sample of 55 respondents selected using simple random sampling. The independent variable was the background factor of age, education, knowledge, attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control (PBC) and intention. Dependent variable was nurse’s attitude. The data were obtained using questionnaires then analyzed using logistic regression with a degree of significance of 0.05.Results: Background factor age (p = 0.02) and knowledge (p = 0.004) correlated with attitude, education (p = 0.023) correlated with subjective norm, knowledge (p = 0.004) related to PBC, attitude (p = 0.010) and subjective norm (p = 0.006) relate to intention, and intention is related to behavior (p = 0.024).Conclusion: This study concludes that the management of behavior to be more directed to the factors that relate in shaping the behavior of knowledge, attitude, education, subjective norms, and intention.

Abstract

Introduction: Personal hygiene problems that often occur in school-age children are related to hand hygiene and dental hygiene. This study aims to explain the effect of health education methods review horay courses and videos media on improving personal hygiene abilities.Methods: Quasy-experimental pretest-posttest design with control group design. A population of 150 students in Elementary School (ES) A of Surabaya and 123 students in ES B of Surabaya. The sample size was proportional to stratified cluster random sampling. A total of 72 respondents in ES A of Surabaya and ES B of Surabaya with 36 treatment groups and 36 control groups. The instrument used a questionnaire and an observation sheet (checklist). The analysis uses the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test.Results: Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test showed knowledge (p = 0.000), attitude (p = 0.000), hand hygiene practice (p = 0.000) and tooth brushing practice (p = 0.000). The value of p <0.05 then there was the effect of intervention courses review horay method and video to increase the ability of personal hygiene in school-age children. Mann-Whitney U Test results showed knowledge (p = 0.000), attitude (p = 0.000), hand hygiene practices (p = 0.000) and tooth brushing practice (p = 0.000). The value of p <0.05 then there was a mean difference in the level of personal hygiene ability between the treatment and control groups.Conclusion: Health education horay review course method and video media to improve the ability of personal hygiene in school-age children to increase knowledge, attitudes and actions in the form of hand hygiene and tooth brushing properly and correctly in the elementary school.

Abstract

Introduction: Toilet training for children is an attempt to train children to control bowel movements and urination. Besides, children are encouraged to be able to defecate and urinate in the specified place. The success of toilet training depends on the readiness of the child and family. This study aims to determine the factors that affect toilet training readiness for toddlers.Methods: The research design used is descriptive analysis, with a cross-sectional approach. The population at Kenjeran Community Health Center is 2.755 toddlers, and the sample used in this study is 25 toddlers with purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study was a children's toilet training questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the crosstab and chi-square analysis.Results: This study showed a relationship between the child's age and the child's sex with the readiness of the child's toilet training with p = 0.00 (α = 0.05).Conclusion: Nurses as health workers are expected to be educators to parents about the importance of toilet training in children by taking into account both physical, psychological, and environmental aspects in supporting the process of toilet training.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is the accumulation of nutritional deficiency in a long time. This research has the objective to describe the knowledge, attitude, and action of feeding in stunting toddlers mothers in the Work Area of Tambak Wedi Public Health Center Surabaya.Methods: A descriptive observational study design was used. The population of this research was mothers who have stunting toddlers with total of 65 respondents. The sample total of this research was 60 respondents proportional sampling technique. The data was analyzed using descriptive analysis.Results: The result of this research shows that 37 respondents (61.6%) have less knowledge, 44 respondents (58.3%) have negative attitude and 35 respondents (58.3%) have inappropriate action.Conclusion: Behavior of feeding by the mother affects the status of the toddler, so it needs to increase mother’s knowledge, attitude, and  action about feeding in toddlers. This research suggests that Public Health Center should provide information about feeding to stunting toddlers through health promotion activity.

Abstract

Introduction: Labor experiences have potential short and long term physical and psychological effects on women’s lives. Many factors influenced role in a mother’s experience of childbirth, both positively and negatively. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and factors that influence the delivery experience.Methods: This study searched for articles in the databases, namely Pub Med, Scopus, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, and Sage. The keyword used is labor experience. A total of 3654 articles were found, after selecting studies using PRISMA found 18 corresponding articles.Results: In this study, 18 studies were included in this systematic review, eight studies examined the prevalence of labor experiences. The prevalence of labor experience was 6.8-44%. Factors related to childbirth experiences included: individuals, such as age, parity, fear, self-efficacy, participation, control, expectations, preparation, and interpersonal, such as husband support, caregiver support, unwanted medical problems, such as prolonged labor, stimulation, and induction, forceps delivery, emergency cesarean section, and use of analgesics in mothers, low APGAR scores and transfer to the NICU.Conclusion: This review showed the various factors associated with the childbirth experience. This finding suggests conducting further research into the reason these factors influence the experience of labor.
