Abstract

Latar Belakang: Hemodialisis pada umumnya dilakukan rutin setiap dua kali seminggu dengan waktu kurang lebih 5 jam setiap menjalani hemodialisis. Pasien yang menjalani hemodialisis rutin akan mengalami malnutrisi asupan protein yang tidak adekuat, rendahnya kadar albumin dalam darah, gangguan gastrointestinal seperti rasa mual dan muntah, serta menurunnya nafsu makan sehingga berisiko menurunkan status gizi pasien. Salah satu pelayanan gizi rawat jalan pada kasus hemodialisis adalah edukasi gizi yang dapat diberikan melalui pengiriman SMS secara rutin tiap hari kepada pasien (SMS Reminder). Tujuan: Mengetahui efektivitas pemberian SMS reminder terhadap status gizi pasien hemodialisis. Metode: Jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimental dengan melibatkan 15 responden untuk masing-masing kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol. Kriteria inklusi adalah pasien hemodialisis berusia >18 tahun, hemodialisis rutin setiap dua kali per minggu, bersedia menjadi responden, dan mengikuti prosedur penelitian. Kriteria eksklusi adalah terdapat udema anasarka dan komplikasi keganasan penyakit. Variabel bebas adalah pemberian SMS reminder, variabel terikatnya status gizi antropometri. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan analisis bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil: Uji Chi-square menunjukkan bahwa pemberian  SMS reminder efektif mempengaruhi status gizi antropometri pasien hemodialisis (p-value = 0,028); Nilai RR = 2,500 yang berarti bahwa responden yang memperoleh  SMS reminder memiliki kemungkinan 2,5 kali lebih besar untuk berstatus gizi baik dibandingkan yang tidak memperoleh SMS reminder. Kesimpulan: Pemberian SMS reminder efektif memperbaiki status gizi antropometri pasien hemodialisis. Pasien yang memperoleh SMS Reminder memiliki kemungkinan 2,5 kali lebih besar untuk berstatus gizi baik dibandingkan yang tidak memperoleh SMS Reminder.Kata Kunci: Edukasi gizi; pasien hemodialisis; SMS reminder; status gizi antropometri

Abstract

Background: Riskesdas 2013 data shows the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in Central Java and Yogyakarta 0.3%, which is higher than the average prevalence across Indonesia which is only 0.2%. The results of the author’s study previously showed that the intake of energy, protein, sodium hemodialysis patients on average are not sufficient, while the average fluid intake exceeds the dietary recommendation. There are several factors that can affect dietary compliance of the hemodialysis patients, such as knowledge, family support, attitudes, and behavior.Objective: To examine the factors that affect dietary compliance of the hemodialysis patients.Method: This is an observational study with cross-sectional design, conducted in the hemodialysis unit of Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital, Klaten on March - October 2016, involving 60 respondents. The dependent variable is dietary compliance, while the independent variables are knowledge, family support, attitudes, and behavior. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate with Chi-Square test.Results: Chi-Square test results of knowledge with dietary compliance showed the p-value = 0.027; family support with dietary compliance showed the p-value = 0.045; attitude with dietary compliance showed the p-value = 0.045; and behavior with dietary compliance showed the p-value = 0.002.Conclusion: Knowledge, family support, attitude, and behavior affect dietary compliance of the hemodialysis patients.

Abstract

In Indonesia, there has been an increase in the percentage of elderly groups compared to other age groups which have been quite rapid since 2013. As a result of population projection of 2010-2035, Indonesia will enter the aging period, whereas 10% of the population will be 60 years or older. With increasing age, physiological functions decline due to the aging process so that non-communicable diseases appear in the elderly. In Demangan Gunungan hamlet, Pleret, Bantul, elderly integrated service post activities were carried out in the form of weight measurements, blood pressure checks, and elderly gymnastics. However, there has never been a gout examination in the elderly because of limited access to health services, limited costs, and lack of information regarding the importance of routine laboratory examinations. So it is necessary to do community service activities in the form of uric acid examination and nutrition counseling to the elderly in the hamlet. Community engagement activities carried out in Demangan Gunungan hamlet, Pleret, Bantul in the form of uric acid examination in the elderly and providing nutrition counseling related to a good diet in anticipating and overcoming health problems, especially gout (hyperuricemia). The activity was attended by 40 people, consisting of 34 elderly people and 6 cadres. The results of uric acid examination showed that there were more elderly people in Demangan Gunungan hamlet, Pleret, Bantul (55%) than those who did not experience hyperuricemia (45%). This community engagement activities achieved results according to the target based on the attendance of participants and program evaluation. It was expected that there would be a decrease in the number of elderly health problems and a decrease in the number of gout sufferers (hyperuricemia) in Demangan Gunungan, Pleret, Bantul.Keywords: elderly, health check, gout (hyperuricemia), nutrition counseling, elderly integrated service post.

Abstract

Nutritional monitoring with SMS reminder is effective to increase the dietary compliance of hemodialysis patientsBackground: Patients with routine hemodialysis are at risk of malnutrition, inadequate intake of protein, hypoalbuminemia, gastrointestinal disorders. One of the factors affecting dietary compliance is knowledge so that the education and nutrition monitoring on an ongoing basis is necessary. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of nutrition monitoring with SMS reminders on dietary compliance of hemodialysis patients.Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study that involved 30 regular hemodialysis patients, divided into two groups. The inclusion criteria were aged >18 years, willing to become respondent and following the procedure, have a handphone, able to read and write. Patients with anasarca edema and complications of malignancy disease were excluded. The independent variable is nutritional monitoring with SMS reminders, while the dependent variable is dietary compliance. Data were statistically analyzed using the Chi-Square test and multiple logistic regression test. Results: Statistical analysis showed that nutritional monitoring with SMS reminder effectively influences the compliance on the consumption of energy (p=0.011, RR=2.750), fluid (p=0.014, RR=2.000), and potassium (p=0.011, RR=2.750). The compliance on the consumption of fluid is the most dominant factor affected by nutrition monitoring with SMS reminders given (B=3.676, p=0.02).Conclusions: Nutritional monitoring with SMS reminders is effective to increase the dietary compliance of hemodialysis patients.

Abstract

Good nutrition in childhood is important, not only for health, growth and development of children but also for long-term health. Children need to eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods regularly, including fruits and vegetables. Lack of consumption of fruit and vegetables can increase the likelihood of constipation. A strategy is needed to support the development of children in the selection of variations of fruits and vegetables consumed, which can be done through nutrition counseling efforts in children especially children in kindergarten (kindergarten). In addition, modification of food based on fruits and vegetables is needed to improve children's appetite, so as to increase fiber intake in children in an effort to prevent constipation.Keywords: Children; Fruit; Constipation; Dietary habit; Vegetables.

Abstract

Background: Hemodialysis patients often experience hypoalbuminemia complications, which occur mainly due to decreased synthesis due to inflammation, lack of protein intake, the fluid status of patients, and losses from the dialysate. Another problem in hemodialysis is malnutrition, with a prevalence between 23–73% globally. Gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite also often occur in hemodialysis. Therefore, hemodialysis patients need to get nutritional support, which can be given in the form of catfish abon, one of the local Indonesian food.Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the use of catfish as a source of animal protein to improve the albumin levels of hemodialysis patients.Materials and Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-post test design. This study involved 34 hemodialysis patients as subjects, with inclusion criteria, were routinely two times a week, aged >18 years, willing to be the subject and follow the research procedures, have albumin levels ≥3.0 g/dL, and no catfish allergies. Patients with anasarca edema, experiencing complications of diabetes mellitus and malignancy were excluded. The dependent variable was albumin content, while the independent variable was catfish as an animal protein source. Data were analyzed univariate and bivariate by Fisher's Exact test.Results: Fisher's Exact test results on the effectiveness of using catfish as an animal protein source to improve albumin levels of hemodialysis patients showed p-value=0.048.Conclusion: The use of catfish as an effective animal protein source significantly affected on improving albumin levels in hemodialysis patients.

Abstract

Pola makan yang buruk dapat menyebabkan hiperglikemia, sehingga meningkatkan produksi spesies oksigen reaktif. Pengaturan asupan makanan adalah salah satu pendekatan untuk mengurangi risiko Diabetes Mellitus akibat hiperglikemia. Kadar glukosa darah dapat dikendalikan dengan mengonsumsi beras hitam dan jambu biji merah yang merupakan bahan makanan yang mengandung antioksidan dan serat. Nasi hitam dan jambu biji merah bisa diolah menjadi tepung kemudian diolah menjadi produk makanan kue nagasari. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kue nagasari yang terbuat dari beras hitam dan jambu biji merah terhadap kadar glukosa darah. Ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan desain satu kelompok pre-post test. Penelitian ini melibatkan 21 responden wanita dewasa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Setiap responden diberikan intervensi dalam bentuk kue nagasari yang terbuat dari beras hitam dan jambu merah sebanyak 2 x 100 gram, sebagai camilan selama tujuh hari. Tingkat glukosa darah responden diukur sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Data dianalisis menggunakan paired t-test dan pearson-product moment test. Terjadi penurunan kadar glukosa darah puasa 5,62 mg/dL setelah pemberian kue nagasari yang terbuat dari beras hitam dan jambu biji merah selama tujuh hari. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of mixing okra flour and arrowroot flour in making pinch cake on physical properties, organoleptic properties and dietary fiber content. This was a pure experimental study with a simple randomized design. The independent variable was variation in mixing okra flour and arrowroot flour, while the dependent variables were physical properties, organoleptic properties and dietary fiber content. There were four variations of pinch cake studied, with the ratio of wheat flour: okra flour: arrowroot flour by 100%: 0%: 0%, 70%: 15%: 15%, 50%: 25%: 25%, and 30%: 35%:35%. Data were analyzed univariate and bivariate. The results showed that the physical properties of the cubit cake had a slightly soft texture and a brownish yellow color. Pinch cake with the most preferred treatment is B variation, with the proportion of wheat flour: okra flour: arrowroot flour mixing is 70%:15%:15%. The highest dietary fiber content is found in kue cubit B, which is 17.8%. Variation of mixing okra flour and arrowroot flour have a significant effect on the physical properties, organoleptic properties and dietary fiber content of pinch cake. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pencampuran tepung okra dan tepung garut pada pembuatan kue cubit terhadap sifat fisik, sifat organoleptik dan kadar serat pangan. Penelitian berjenis eksperimental murni dengan rancangan acak sederhana. Variabel bebasnya variasi pencampuran tepung okra dan tepung garut, sedangkan variabel terikatnya uji sifat fisik, uji organoleptik dan kadar serat pangan. Terdapat empat variasi kue cubit yang diteliti yaitu dengan perbandingan tepung terigu: tepung okra: tepung garut sebesar 100%:0%:0%, 70%:15%:15%, 50%:25%:25%, dan 30%:35%:35%. Data dianalisis univariat dan bivariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sifat fisik secara objektif kue cubit memiliki tekstur agak empuk dan warna kuning kecoklatan. Kue cubit dengan perlakuan yang paling disukai adalah kue cubit B, dengan proporsi pencampuran tepung terigu: tepung okra: tepung garut sebesar 70%:15%:15%. Kadar serat pangan tertinggi terdapat pada kue cubit B yaitu 17,8%. Variasi pencampuran tepung okra dan tepung garut berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sifat fisik, tingkat kesukaan dan kadar serat pangan kue cubit.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penyakit jantung koroner (PJK) merupakan penyakit kardiovaskular dengan prevalensi tertinggi di Indonesia. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya penyakit jantung koroner adalah kadar kolesterol dalam darah. Upaya untuk menurunkan kadar kolesterol dalam darah diantaranya dengan mengendalikan kebiasaan makan dan melakukan latihan aerobik. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan aktivitas olahraga dengan kadar kolesterol pada pasien PJK. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Penelitian melibatkan 79 responden yang diambil dengan teknik accidental sampling. Kriteria inklusi meliputi pasien penyakit jantung koroner rawat jalan yang bersedia menjadi responden, laki-laki berusia ≥ 45 tahun dan perempuan berusia ≥ 55 tahun. Kriteria eksklusi adalah pasien PJK yang mengonsumsi herbal atau ramuan dari luar rumah sakit untuk menurunkan kadar kolesterol. Data dianalisis dengan software statistik menggunakan uji Fisher’s Exact. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden yang tidak beraktivitas olahraga mempunyai kadar kolesterol normal (70,9%). Ada hubungan antara aktivitas olahraga dengan kadar koleterol (p=0,051) dengan α=10%. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara aktivitas olahraga dengan kadar kolesterol pada pasien PJK di Poliklinik Jantung RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul.
