Abstract

This classroom action research is aimed at improving activities and students understanding of biological concepts by applying the strategies SQ3R. SQ3R strategies make it possible for students to learn systematically, effectively and efficiently in the face of various teaching materials. The research was done at SMA Negeri 5 Kendari, in academic year 2013/2014. The subject of the research were 42 student that registered in the second semester of the school year 2013/2014. The data collecting method were done by using interview and observation. Source data from this study was the measurement of student learning activities using observation sheet comprehension test and measurement concept that refers to indicators of understanding of the concept according to Anderson and Krathwoll in the first cycle, second cycle and third cycle. The data analysis was done by descriptive statistics. The research concludes that: 1) The percentage score  activitiies students in first cycle is 77,08, second cycle is 82,14%, and the three cycle is 86,31%. 2) ) The percentage score understanding of the concept in first cycle is 72,62%, second cycle is 90,18%, and the three cycle is 92,62%.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are essential to help students in expressing their ideas. However, problem posing is a method that can empower problem-solving skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of mind mapping assisted with a problem-posing method in online Schoology-based learning. This experimental research used the posttest-only control group. The subject of this study were students of the Department of Biology Education, 2020/2021 academic year, Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka. The sample was divided into an experimental class and a control class. The research instrument was post-test questions that were made based on the indicators of problem-solving skills. The result showed that the experimental class has the highest score on each indicator of problem-solving skills. In addition, the hypothesis testing result with a significance p-value was 0.025 (<0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. The average value of problem-solving skills in the experimental class is also higher than in the control class. These results indicated that the mind mapping assisted with a problem-posing method in online Schoology-based learning is effective in improving students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to explore the effect of Reading-Concept Map- Think Pair Share (Remap-TPS) towards cognitive learning outcomes on highschool students. The participant for the study consisted of 54 students from the Senior High School 1, Batu City. This research used Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design.  Cognitive learning outcome obtained from the essay test. The test results were then analyzed with Anacova. The results of this experiment showed that Remap-TPS can enhance cognitive learning outcomes.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran Reading-Concept Map-Think Pair Share (Remap-TPS) terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Batu dengan jumlah partistipan sebanyak 54 siswa. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Data hasil belajar kognitif diperoleh dari hasil tes essay, dan hasilnya dianalisis dengan teknik Anacova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Remap-TPS berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills is one of the life skills needed in the 21st century which can be empowered through learning process. That skills can be a provision for students to solve a variety problems, including in science learning. Creative thinking skills can not growed by itself, but need stimulated in the form of learning models that helps empower the skills. One of the learning model that helps empower creative thinking skills was Reading-Concept-Map Think Pair Share (Remap TPS) learning model. Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pembuatan hand sanitizer dari daun sirih dan buah jeruk nipis sebagai upaya pencegahan penularan Covid-19 di Kabupaten Kolaka. Adapun langkah-langkah pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini 1) Tahap persiapan alat dan bahan pengabdian; 2) Tahap pembuatan hand sanitizer; 3) Tahap pendistribusian hand sanitizer kepada masyarakat Kolaka secara gratis. Hasil pelaksanaannya adalah (1) Ada peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat Kolaka, dengan mengikuti protokol kesehatan terkait upaya pencegahan penularan Covid-19. (2) Tanggapan masyarakat sangat positif dengan adanya hand sanitizer yang dibagikan secara gratis dan sangat bermanfaat bagi mereka.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus yang terdiri dari empat tahap di setiap siklusnya yaitu perencanaan, tindakan atau pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di S1 Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Negeri Malang dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 42 orang pada mahasiswa semester 7, mata kuliah pembelajaran biologi abad 21. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD) dipadu RQA berbasis Lesson Study pada perkuliahan pembelajaran abad 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbasis Lesson Study dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa semester 7 perkuliahan pembelajaran abad 21 dengan peningkatan motivasi siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 6,55%. Sedangkan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 8,21%.

Abstract

Human Anatomy and Physiology is one of the courses for biology students that is abstract so that not a few students have difficulty studying it. Errors in answering questions can be used as clues to determine the student's mastery of material. This study aims to determine student errors in solving problems in the Human Anatomy & Physiology course. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection method used is the test method. The subjects in this study were biology education students in semester V of the Nineteenth November University Kolaka Academic Year 2019/2020 who took Human Anatomy and Physiology courses. The instrument used in this study was the UAS test questions in the Human Anatomy & Physiology course. The results of the analysis showed that the most difficult questions for students to understand were questions on the function of the eye parts where the points obtained by nine students were only 2 points with the percentage of correct answers only 2%. While the questions on autoimmune disease material got the most correct percentage of answers where the number of points was nine students, namely 31 with a percentage of 34%. From the research results, it can be concluded that by analyzing student errors in answering questions, it can be seen what material is difficult for students to understand so that it can help lecturers to improve the learning process in the following semester.

Abstract

Masyarakat yang memiliki pengetahuan yang minim akan bahaya dari sampah plastic akan menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan baik di udara, darat dan air. Berdasarkan survey awal di Desa Peatoa Kecamatan Loea Kabupaten Kolaka Timur, masih banyak masyarakat yang memiliki pengetahuan rendah terkait pengelolaan sampah plastik dengan benar, kurangnya fasilitas pengangkutan sampah ke TPA serta belum pernahnya diadakan edukasi terkait bahaya sampah pelastik. Peranan stakeholder sangat dibutuhkan dalam menjawab permasalahan tersebut, sehingga kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk cinta lingkungan. Adapun aspek yang diedukasikan kepada masyarakat yaitu pengertian plastik, jenis-jenis plastik, dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh sampah plastik, upaya pengurangan sampah plastik serta memahami metode 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle). Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahun sebelum dilakukan edukasi dan setelah dilakukan edukasi sehingga disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap lingkungan dengan memahami bahaya sampah plastik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya mahasiswa pendidikan biologi USN Kolaka yang merasa cemas dalam menyusun skripsi. Kecemasan adalah emosi yang tidak menyenangkan yang ditandai dengan kekhawatiran dan ketidakberdayaan terhadap sesuatu yang akan terjadi di masa depan. Tujuan dari penelitian itu adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kecemasan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam menyusun skripsi. Jenis penelitian bersifat deskriptif. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 21 mahasiswa. Data dianalisis secara deksriptif. Hasil penelitian mengungkap tingkat kecemasan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam menyusun skripsi berada pada kategori sedang.
