Abstract

This research aims to describe basic concept of Form-Focused Instruction (FFI) and try to explain further that the use of FFI in producing comprehensible input for second language learner. The interactional process can be obtained from SLL (second language learner) while doing the assignment in narrative reading text. The teacher let them discus the assignment about narrative text reading. The students are going to contribute knowledge, discuss, and give the correction each other. This study uses descriptive qualitative in nature because in this research describes and shows several type of FFI which is used by the students. The researcher tries to use an audio recorder to obtain voices of students’ interaction. To be more specific, the audio recorder tool refers to cell phone recorder. The researcher will analyze the conversation then interpret based on FFI theory The FFI will not be treated by the teacher but the advance students will give the corrective feedback because in discussion the teacher just plays role as facilitator and the teacher may not interrupt and intervene to the students’ discussion. In this research, the students can interact well. Their interaction produces negotiate meaning, recast, and feedback that construct comprehensible input. In this study, the researcher classifies the students’ interaction pattern SLL interaction based on those three components of interaction. The students to interact, share, learn, and contribute knowledge each other. Therefore, it produces comprehensible input from the interaction

Abstract

This study aims to discuss how teaching and learning activities were carried out by using Genre based Approach in teaching writing descriptive text at junior high school. This study was conducted in the classroom of VII-1. Therefore, the appropriate design was qualitative research design. The subject of the study was the English teacher. To collect data, the researcher used observation and interview. The finding of the study described that the teaching and learning activities that were carried out by the teacher fulfilled the basic competencies. The teacher carried out the opening teaching activities by greeting, asking the students’ preparation during the lesson, checking the student’s attendance list, and informing the learning objective. The teacher carried out the main teaching activities by informing about how to write a descriptive text, giving, and asking opinions, eliciting the students’ understanding, prompting and directing to do exercises. The teacher carried out the closing teaching activities by directing the student to continue at home and eliciting the students’ reflection of what they could learn at that time.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe an aids tool that can help the students tocomprehend, to retain the information, to understand, to improve the students‘ concentration in reading text for junior high school that is by using light classical music with appropriate volume, tempo, and right bit. This study is intended to describe the use of classical music to improve the students‘ concentration in reading text. This study used a descriptive qualitative study. This study is designing to describe the observed phenomenon in conducting teaching and learning process. The subject of the study was the junior high school English teacher‘s. The researcher used observation guidelines and note relating to design complete teaching and learning after the data has been collected, Light classical music can help the students relax. It affects students feeling therefore affect also in learning process. The right kind of light classical music tends to have both a relaxing and stimulating effect on the brain and on the whole nervous system. the students can absorb information much more quickly and effectively when student‘s brains are in a state of relaxed alertness

Abstract

Kegiatan seni dan budaya Rumah Kreatif Kampung Batara yang berlokasi di Desa Papring Kecamatan Kalipuro Kabupaten Banyuwangi, di dalam teknis pelaksanaan kegiatan promosinya masih menggunakan teknik konvensional dan belum maksimal, sehingga rumah kreatif belum dikenal secara luas. Oleh karena itu, para pengelola kegiatan di Rumah Kreatif Kampung Batara harus diberikan pelatihan tentang cara dan pemanfaatan media sosial agar strategi promosinya bisa maksimal dan minat kunjungan wisatawan menjadi banyak. Pendekatan pelatihan yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan PKM yaitu dengan memberikan pelatihan berupa ceramah dan tutorial. Agar pendidikan dan pelatihan yang disajikan interaktif dan efektif, PKM ini menggunakan pendekatan diskusi interaktif. Teknik yang digunakan adalah berbagi pendapat, diskusi kelompok, role play dan simulasi. Dengan cara seperti ini, diharapkan peserta menjadi termotivasi dan tidak mudah lelah serta bosan. Selain itu, pengelola akan didampingi dalam membuat akun media sosial yaitu Facebook dan Instagram serta cara mengoptimalkan penggunaan media sosial tersebut. Tim dosen MBP Politeknik Negeri Banyuwangi telah menyusun materi strategi promosi melalui media sosial secara ringkas agar mudah dipahami oleh pengelola Rumah Kreatif Dusun Papring. Materi pelatihan dibuat lebih sederhana dengan gambar memudahkan pengelola untuk memahaminya. Hasil kegiatan pendampingan PKM ini diharapkan dapat terus dilaksanakan dan dikembangkan oleh pendiri Rumah Kreatif Kampung Batara.

Abstract

During Covid 19 teaching and learning should be conducted via an online system. One of the supporting tools is using the application of google meet. The student in the tourism business management department must able to speak English in descriptive text fluently. The students must be provided excellent English skills to escort and to explain the clear hotel room facilities and services for international guests. The comic strip is teaching media that is suitable in-state polytechnic of Banyuwangi because it can help the student to understand the text easily. The lecturer tried to describe the teaching speaking activity in the classroom using the google meet platform. The study used a descriptive qualitative research design. The researcher analyzed and described the teaching speaking in the descriptive text by using comic strip for the tourism department. The preparation of the lecturer was syllabus and course agreement which consist of learning objective and indicator, the method, and learning sources. The lecturer taught the students based on course agreement. The lecturer only facilitated the students to be active in speaking descriptive text. He asked the students to do modeling communication in a hotel. One of the students performed as a bell boy and the other as a tourist who wants to stay in a hotel. During the teaching-learning process, the lecturer got three main troubles in conducting the teaching process. There was students’ low in vocabulary, pronunciation, losing signal, and trouble in expressing sentences. Speaking descriptive text course which was taught by the lecturer proceeded effectively and acceptable for the students.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan validitas isi, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, tingkat diskriminasi dan distraktor atau pengecoh dari butir soal UAS Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Tegalsiwalan tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif karena penilitian ini difokuskan pada analisa konten. Subject dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMPN 2 Tegalsiwalan. Object dalam penelitian ini diambil dari soal ujian akhir semester berbentuk pilihan ganda. Teknik pengumpulkan data menggunakan metode observasi dan metode dokumentasi untuk mengetahui deskripsi mengenai hasil evaluasi belajar siswa. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa validitas isi pada butir soal pilihan ganda mempunyai tingkat kesesuaian yang cukup tinggi dengan indikator pada silabus dan kurikulum. Hal ini telah dibuktikan dengan analisa pemetaan konten silabus. Reliabilitas butir soal dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus KR-20 adalah 0,88. Reliabilitas butir soal pilihan ganda memiliki korelasi yang tinggi. Tingkat kesulitan butir soal dari keseluruhan butir soal yang memenuhi persyaratan kelayakan sebesar 55%. Tingkat diskriminasi butir soal dari keseluruhan butir soal yang memenuhi syarat tingkat diskriminasi sebesar 0,25. Distraktor pilihan ganda butir soal sudah diatas 5% yaitu 16,7%

Abstract

Semenjak wabah virus COVID-19 pada awal maret 2020 merebak, minat kunjung wisatawan yang akan mengujungi Banyuwangi baik domestik maupun mancanegara mulai menurun. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut Pemerintah kabupaten Banyuwangi mulai aktif memperkenalkan program gerakan Banyuwangi rebound sebagai wujud pemulihan ekonomi UMKM, pariwisata, dan budaya. Melalui kegiatan pegabdian kepada masyarakat ini yang berupa kegiatan kreatif dan inovatif penanaman 1000 bunga matahari ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan potensi daya tarik festival budaya yaitu festival bazar rutin 2 minggu sekali produk olahan makanan dan jajanan kuliner khas dusun palu kuning Banyuwangi yang diolah secara tradisional serta menghadirkan beberapa stand pameran produk lokal UMKM pada festival tersebut. Hasil dari kegiatan penanaman bunga matahari didusun palu kuning adalah dapat menambah nilai estetika daya tarik wisata budaya yang ada dididusun palu kuning, dapat mengurangi polusi Ditepi jalan sepanjang jalan spot area festival kuliner makanan olahan tradisional yang telah ditanami 1000 bunga matahari serta dapat meningkatan suasana kenyamanan pengunjung dalam menikmati rintisan kegiatan festival kuliner tradisional khas dusun palu kuning Banyuwangi. Tim pengabdi dalam kegiatan inovatif tersebut telah berperan aktif dan partisipasi untuk meningkatkan sinergitas masyarakat agar dapat tercipta hubungan pentahelix yang baik.

Abstract

Students’ in tourism business management vocational education program of Banyuwangi State Polytechnic must have excellent writing skill to promote tourist destination in Banyuwangi by writing a description of tourist destination in Instragram blog. This study aims to identify and to describe teaching learning process by using Instagram blog. This research used qualitative design. The researcher began to investigate the classroom online teaching and learning classroom activities by using several research instruments such as observation checklist, interview, and questionnaire. The lecturer tried to use Instagram blog as teaching aid during teaching and learning process especially in writing descriptive text about some popular tourist destinations in Banyuwangi. She also made them interested to begin write their idea. It could give the students a greater chance to write and express their ideas in English. This research was hold in Banyuwangi State Polytechnic on February 4th until 4th March, 2021. The result of this research was Instagram blog can help the lecturer taught well besides that the lecturer had already prepared learning contract well therefore she taught clearly.

Abstract

Logika Matematika sebagai dasar dari konsep Analisis Fault Tree dapat diimpelementasikan pada berbagai bidang. Sebagai industri kreatif, produksi gula semut di Dusun Gumuk Agung sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan karena melimpahnya sumber air nira dari pohon kelapa. Gula semut adalah gula aren berbentuk butiran seperti pasir yang dibuat dari nira. Permasalahan yang dihadapi yaitu sering terjadi kegagalan pada sistem produksi gula semut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan metode fault tree analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa defect pada proses produksi gula semut yaitu rasa asam, tidak berbentuk kristal, warna gelap dan serbuk tidak halus. Berdasarkan fault tree analysis, terdapat enam minimal cut-set yaitu nira tidak segera diolah, nira tidak disaring, buih saat pemanasan tidak dibuang, kadar air terlalu banyak, pengadukan kurang cepat, dan mengayak tidak dengan teliti. Solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah menutup dengan rapat bumbung yang digunakan, kecuali pada bagian aliran masuknya nira, melakukan penyuluhan secara berkala dan membuat prosedur pengolahan gula semut. Selain itu, dibutuhkan adanya standarisasi ukuran kadar air, kecepatan pengadukan dan penambahan proses ayakan. Hasil ini diharapkan menjadi pedoman bagi para petani atau penderes agar diperoleh sistem produksi gula semut yang baik dan optimal untuk waktu berikutnya.

Abstract

KTSP (School Based Curriculum) is still widely applied in some school in Indonesia. Every school has given authority to make a syllabus. However, the teacher still gets difficulty to design syllabus. The teacher cannot identify the indicator from basic competence well. It meant that the teacher can not understand about the formulation of basic competence, so they can not identify indicator well. Finally, the can not developing the syllabus become lesson plan well. Teacher’s syllabus is a scenario when the teacher teaches their students in class. Teacher writes a syllabus for one semester, it is important for guidance of the teacher. In syllabus, teacher should interpret basic competence into systematic indicator. At least, syllabus consists of school identity, basic competence (KD), Sub KD, Sub-sub KD (it is written when basic competence consists more than one competence), indicator of competence, material, teaching and learning procedure, assessment, learning source, and media.This study related to the syllabus developed by the English teacher. The main data was a document made by the teacher. It would describe qualitatively. The researcher used the result of observation guidelines of ideal syllabus and table of operational KD and Indicator.Based on the result of the study, there are some points that can be known. (1) Most of the syllabus is not ideal. (2) Most of the syllabus is not used operational verb in KD and indicator. It means that most of the teachers are still difficult to identify KD and indicator. In conclusion, most of the teacher can not develop lesson plan well, because they can not identify indicator from basic competence well. If the teacher can not identify indicator from KD well, it can not make a systematic indicator. Systematic indicators determine about material, teaching and learning procedure, allocation of time, assessment, source and media. It means that an ideal syllabus, it can determine achievement of teaching learning in the class.
