Abstract

Red ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) had been used as excipient in jamu for most people in Indo- nesia. Based on recent research, ethanol extract of red ginger had analgesics activity. The purpose of this research to determine analgesic activity content in water extract of the fresh and dry red ginger and ethanol extract of fresh and dry of red ginger dregs. Fresh and dry of red ginger extracted using decoc- tion method, and the dregs of fresh and dry red ginger extracted using soxhletation method in ethanol 96% at 400C. Red ginger water extract and red ginger dregs extract had been examined for analgesic by witkin method. The results showed, fresh and dry red ginger water extract had analgesic activity for 25 minutes but the activity reduced in 30 minutes. Fresh and dry red ginger dregs ethanol extract still had analgesic activity until 30 minutes. TLC chromatogram was sprayed with FeCl3 and formed two spots with grey colour for both extracts. After sprayed with vanillin sulfate, it formed violet and blue spots from both extracts. From the retention factor (Rf) , possibility shogaol and gingerol contained in extract that have analgesic activity. Abstract

Senyawa antioksidan dapat berupa senyawa sintetis dan senyawa alami yang terdapat dalam tanaman. Senyawa alami antioksidan diantaranya fenol dan flavonoid. Baccaurea lanceolata salahsatu tanaman yang berlimpah dan belum banyak informasi ilmiah tentang aktifitas farmakologinya. Namun, Baccaurea lanceolata telah dilaporkan memiliki golongan fenol dan flavonoid. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penetapan kadar total fenol, flavonoid dan aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol buah, daun dan kulit batang Baccaurea lanceolata. Metode : Buah, daun dan kulit batang kering, masing-masing diekstraksi menggunakan sokhlet dengan etanol 96%. Masing-masing ekstrak cair diuapkan menggunakan rotary vaporator sehingga dihasilkan ekstrak etanol buah, daun dan kulit batang. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Penetapan kadar total fenol dengan metode Pourmurad dan kadar total flavonoid dengan metode Chang. Hasil : ekstrak etanol daun limpasu memiliki kadar total fenol dan flavonoid tertinggi yaitu 1,402 g GAE/100 g ekstrak dan 46,006 g QE/100 g, sedangkan yang terendah pada ekstrak etanol buah sebesar 0,364 g GAE/100 g ekstrak  dan 2,220 g QE/100 g ekstrak. Aktivitas antioksidan diekspresikan dengan nilai IC50 terhadap peredaman DPPH. IC50 ekstrak etanol daun memiliki nilai terkecil yaitu 296,397 µg/mL, sedangkan ekstrak etanol kulit batang sebesar 3305,716 µg/mL dan ekstrak etanol buah limpasu sebesar 4942,87 µg/mL. Keberadaan fenol dan flavonoid pada ekstrak etanol buah, daun dan kulit batang limpasu dapat berkontribusi pada aktivitas antioksidan.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ashitaba (Angelica keiskei) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat yang terbukti memiliki aktivitas antioksidan setara dengan vitamin E. Aktivitas antioksidan umumnya ditunjukkan oleh metabolit sekunder tanaman, terutama flavonoid. Di dalam batang ashitaba terkandung senyawa kalkon yaitu xantoangelol (XAG) dan 4-hidroksiderisin (4-HD), yang tergolong ke dalam flavonoid dengan cincin C terbuka. Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk  menetapkan  kadar  kalkon  total  (dihitung  sebagai  XAG)  di  dalam ekstrak etanol batang ashitaba. Tanaman ashitaba diperoleh dari Gunung Rinjani, Lombok, dan dideterminasi di Sekolah Ilmu dan Teknologi Hayati Institut Teknologi Bandung.  Penetapan  kadar  kalkon  total  dilakukan  menggunakan  metode spektrofotometri standar adisi. Hasil penapisan fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol batang ashitaba mengandung senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid, polifenol dan tanin, sedangkan kalkon total yang terkandung  di dalam ekstrak etanol kering batang ashitaba dihitung sebagai XAG adalah 0,836 % b/b.Kata kunci : Ashitaba, antioksidan, xantoangelol, 4-hidroksiderisin, kalkon total. TOTAL CHALCONE CONTENT IN THE ETHANOL EXTRACT OF ASHITABA STEMS (Angelica keiskei Koidzumi)  ABSTRACT Ashitaba  (Angelica  keiskei)  is  a  medicinal  plant  that  has  been  proven  to  possess antioxidant activity equal to that of vitamin E. This antioxidant activity usually belongs to  the  plant’s  secondary  metabolites,  e.g.  flavonoids.  The  ashitaba  stem  contains chalcone compounds, e.g. xantoangelol (XAG) and 4-hydroxiderricin (4-HD), which are categorized as open C-ring flavonoids. The purpose of this study was to determine total chalcone content (calculated as XAG) in ethanol extract of ashitaba stem. Ashitaba plant was obtained from Mount Rinjani, Lombok, and was identified at School of Biology Sciences and Technology, ITB. The total chalcone was determined by using standard addition spectrophotometric method. Result showed that the ethanol extract of ashitaba stem contain flavonoids, alkaloids polyphenol, and tannins, whereas the dried extract of ashitaba stem contained 0.836% w/w of total chalcone calculated as XAG. Abstract

The aim of PKM is to increase public knowledge in an effort to increase the body's resistance of community members during the Covid 19 pandemic. The method of activity is to form a team of extension agents (women for Family Welfare Empowerment), accompanied by providing samples of herbal drink products and companion brochures. The results achieved from this activity, the community can get to know several medicinal plants that have immune-enhancing properties, along with a simple processing process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi komponen senyawa dan mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan, antimikroba minyak atsiri Akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanoides. L). Minyak atsiri diperoleh dengan cara destilasi uap air dianalisis menggunakan kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa (KG-SM), aktivitas antioksidan ditentukan dengan metode DPPH serta aktivitas antibakteri ditentukan dengan metode mikrodilusi. Hasil analisis kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa (KG-SM) menunjukan adanya 43 senyawa dengan kandungan utama yaitu sikloisolongifolena (8,27%), 6-Isopropenil-4,8A-Dimetil-3,5,6,7,8,8A-Hexahidrol-1H-Naf (7,20%), delta cadinena (6,29%), aromedenedradiene (5,98%) dan alfa amorpena (5,45%). Aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa minyak atsiri memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan IC50 0,515 μg. mL−1. Aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan aktivitas terhadap bakteri uji Gram positif dan bakteri Gram negativ dengan konsentrasi hambat minimum minyak atsiri berkisar dari 62, 50 μg. mL−1 hingga 4000 μg. mL−1. Kandungan minyak atsiri dari tanaman akar wangi direkomendasikan untuk aktivitas antioksidan dan antibakteri. Kata kunci: Antioksidan, antibakteri, komposisi kimia, akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanoides)

Abstract

Breast cancer is an uncontrolled malignancy of the breast that originates from glandular cells, gland ducts, and the supporting tissues of the breast. The development of herbal-based anticancer drugs is progressing, one of which is derived from the natural ingredients of Eleutherine palmifolia tubers. The aim of this study was to determine the activity of compounds derived from Eleutherine palmifolia tubers on the alpha-estrogen receptor (ERα) using an in silico study. The crystal structure of the enzyme used was 3ERT which was obtained from the Protein Data Bank (PDB). The applications used in this journal are Chem3D (initial preparation of ligands and receptors), AutoDock4 (redocking and calculation of root mean square deviation (RSMD)), and Biovia (visualization of redocking results). Tamoxifen was used as a reference ligand. Based on the results of the in silico study, the best compound that has the potential to be developed as a candidate for anticancer drug is Eleutherine because the results of the in silico test on Eleutherine have a value of G=-7.56 kkal/mol and the smallest KI=2.89 nM, so it can be concluded that eleutherine is one of potential drug candidate for anti cancer.Keywords: Breast cancer, eleutherine, estrogen receptor α.

Abstract

AbstrakFraksi etil asetat ekstrak metanol kulit akar dan ekstrak etanol daun murbei (Morus alba L.) diketahui mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Streptococcus mutans. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak n-heksan, etil asetat, dan etanol buah murbei terhadap bakteri Streptococcus mutans dan Streptococcus sanguinis. Simplisia buah murbei diekstraksi menggunakan kepolaran bertingkat dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat, dan etanol dengan metode maserasi. Pada simplisia dan ekstrak dilakukan skrining fitokimia, karakterisisasi simplisia dan uji aktivitas antibakteri dengan metode difusi agar. Penentuan Kadar Hambat Minimum (KHM) dilakukan terhadap ekstrak paling aktif dengan metode difusi Agar dan diidentifikasi menggunakan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT). Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan ekstrak paling aktif adalah ekstrak etil asetat dengan nilai KHM 8 mg/ml dan 9 mg/ml terhadap bakteri Streptococcus mutans dan Streptococcus sanguinis. Hasil analisis statistika untuk taraf α = 0,05 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan daya hambat antara kontrol dengan ekstrak etanol dan etil asetat. Hasil skrining fitokimia pada ekstrak etil asetat menunjukkan adanya senyawa golongan flavonoid, fenolat, kuinon, monoterpen dan seskuiterpen. Hasil identifikasi dengan KLT menunjukkan bahwa pada ekstrak etil asetat terdapat 10 spot dengan masing-masing Rf 0,04; 0,08; 0,16; 0,36; 0,48; 0,74; 0,78; 0,86 dan 0,94.  Kata kunci: buah murbei (Morus alba L.), Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sanguinis, KHM, Antibakteri.  AbstractEthyl acetate fraction of methanol extract of the root bark and ethanol extract of mulberry leaves (Morus alba L.) was known to have an antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans. The aims of this research is to know the antibacterial activity of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol extract against Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sanguinis. Mulberry fruit was extracted by a maceration method using gradient polarity solvents (n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol). The phytochemical screening and characterization of crude drugs and extract were carried out, and identified by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). The antibacterial activity and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the most active extract were determined using the agar diffusion method. The antibacterial activity showed the most active extract was ethyl acetate extract with MIC value 8 mg/ml and 9 mg/ml against Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sanguinis. The statistical analysis for level α = 0.05 showed differences inhibition between the control with ethyl acetate and ethanol extracts. The phytochemical screening of ethyl acetate extract showed flavonoid, phenolat, quinone, and monoterpene and sesquiterpene groups. The identification using TLC showed 10 spot with Rf 0.04; 0.08; 0.16; 0.36; 0.48; 0.74; 0.78; 0.86 and 0.94 respectively in the ethyl acetate extract.  Keywords: mulberry fruit (Morus alba L.), Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sanguinis, MIC, Antibacterial

Abstract

AbstrakTelah banyak dilaporkan dari beberapa ekstrak spesies Ficus sp [famili Moreaceae] memiliki aktivitas biologi diantaranya aktivitas anti-inflamasi. Walaupun demikian, aktivitas anti-inflamasi ekstrak daun Ficus adenosperma dan ekstrak daun Ficus virens belum banyak diteliti. Ekstraksi dilakukan terhadap daun Ficus adenosperma dan Ficus virens dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol. Ekstrak dipekatkan dengan rotavapor dan terhadap masing-masing ekstrak dilakukan pengujian skrining fitokimia dan aktivitas anti-inflamasi. Aktivitas anti-inflamasi diuji menggunakan metode induksi karagenan 1%. Dosis ekstrak yang digunakan adalah 250 mg/KgBB dan 500 mg/KgBB. Ekstrak etanol daun Ficus adenosperma dan daun Ficus virens memiliki kandungan metabolit sekunder flavonoid, fenol dan steroid, dan mempunyai aktivitas anti-inflamasi untuk model inflamasi akut. Ekstrak etanol daun Ficus virens memiliki nilai inhibisi radang pada 250 mg/KgBB sebesar 63,3% dan pada 500 mg/KgBB sebesar 76,7%. Aktivitas anti-inflamasi untuk model inflamasi akut dari ekstrak etanol daun Ficus virens lebih baik daripada ekstrak etanol daun Ficus adenosperma. Kata Kunci: Ficus adenosperma, Ficus virens, Anti-inflamasi Abstract It has been widely reported from several extract of species Ficus sp [family Moraceae] have biological activity such as anti-inflammatory activity. Nevertheless, the anti-inflammatory activity of leaves extract Ficus adenosperma and Ficus virens have not been reported. Extraction was performed with maceration method and used ethanol. The extract were evaporated using rotary evaporator and tested phytochemical screening and anti-inflammatory activity. The anti-inflammatory activity was used the carrageenan 1 % induced method. Extract doses were used 250 mg/KgBW and 500 mg/KgBW. Ethanol extract leaves of Ficus adenosperma and Ficus virens contain flavonoids, phenols and steroids and have anti-inflammatory activity in a model of acute inflammation. The percent inhibition of inflammatory activity from ethanol extract leaves of Ficus virens at 250 mg/KgBW was 63,3% and at 500 mg/KgBW was 76,7%. Anti-inflammatory activity for an acute model from ethanol extract leaves of Ficus virens, is better than ethanol extract leaves of Ficus adenospermae.  Keywords: Ficus adenosperma, Ficus virens, Antiinflamatory

Abstract

Melanoma is a cancer that develops in melanocytes and manifests itself on the skin as lumps and uneven skin pigmentation. A chemotherapeutic medication called Vemurafenib is one of the medicines used to treat this malignancy. Chemotherapeutic drugs, on the other hand, are known to induce a variety of adverse effects in the body, thus alternative substances with the same potential but fewer side effects must be sought. This study was conducted utilizing an in silico technique, which included molecular docking, as well as Lipinski rules and PreADMET to predict the pharmacokinetic profile. Compounds found in soursop leaves (Annona muricata L.) have been shown to inhibit cell division by interacting with the BRAF V600E receptor. Reticuline has a Gibbs energy of -8.78; a 395.39 nM inhibition constant; and binds to the amino acids GLN A:530, CYS A: 532, and ASP A: 594.
