Abstract

West Java is rich in essential oil-producing plants, essential oils known to be responsible for some pharmacological activities among its antioxidant and antimicrobial. This research aims to know antimicrobial, antioxidant activity and identify the components of a compound essential oil of nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt.). Components chemistry identified with GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass pectrometer). Antioxidant activity measured by using the DPPH method (2 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) at 516 λ wavelength absorbance. Antimicrobial activity determined Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentrations (MBC) using microdilution method. The result of GC-MS showed the highest component on nutmeg containing 22.22% myristicin. The antioxidant test showed nutmeg had IC50 at 3,16%, essential oil showed antibacterial activity against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Minimum inhibitory concentrations of essential oils range from 0.313% to 10%. The content of essential oils of nutmeg plants that grow in the area of West Java Garut can be used to overcome the problems of antioxidants and antimicrobial.Key words: Antioxidant, Antibacterial, Pala (Myristica fragrans Houtt), Chemical Composition.

Abstract

The aim of PKM is to increase public knowledge in an effort to increase the body's resistance of community members during the Covid 19 pandemic. The method of activity is to form a team of extension agents (women for Family Welfare Empowerment), accompanied by providing samples of herbal drink products and companion brochures. The results achieved from this activity, the community can get to know several medicinal plants that have immune-enhancing properties, along with a simple processing process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi komponen senyawa dan mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan, antimikroba minyak atsiri Akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanoides. L). Minyak atsiri diperoleh dengan cara destilasi uap air dianalisis menggunakan kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa (KG-SM), aktivitas antioksidan ditentukan dengan metode DPPH serta aktivitas antibakteri ditentukan dengan metode mikrodilusi. Hasil analisis kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa (KG-SM) menunjukan adanya 43 senyawa dengan kandungan utama yaitu sikloisolongifolena (8,27%), 6-Isopropenil-4,8A-Dimetil-3,5,6,7,8,8A-Hexahidrol-1H-Naf (7,20%), delta cadinena (6,29%), aromedenedradiene (5,98%) dan alfa amorpena (5,45%). Aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa minyak atsiri memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan IC50 0,515 μg. mL−1. Aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan aktivitas terhadap bakteri uji Gram positif dan bakteri Gram negativ dengan konsentrasi hambat minimum minyak atsiri berkisar dari 62, 50 μg. mL−1 hingga 4000 μg. mL−1. Kandungan minyak atsiri dari tanaman akar wangi direkomendasikan untuk aktivitas antioksidan dan antibakteri. Kata kunci: Antioksidan, antibakteri, komposisi kimia, akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanoides)

Abstract

AbstrakTanaman kemangi (Ocimum americanum L) secara empiris diketahui mempunyai aktivitas dalam menghambat Streptococcus mutans yaitu bakteri yang selama ini dikenal sebagai penyebab karies gigi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antibakteri dari suatu sediaan yang mengandung ekstrak etanol herba kemangi dalam bentuk sediaan obat kumur. Konsentrasi hambat minimum ekstrak kemangi adalah 0,3% b/v. Hasil formulasi sediaan obat kumur ekstrak kemangi memperlihatkan larutan berwarna coklat, beraroma mint dan kemangi, memiliki rasa manis dan mint. Sediaan obat kumur ekstrak kemangi mampu membunuh bakteri uji dengan waktu kontak 60 detik. Formula obat kumur ekstrak kemangi yang dibuat relatif stabil secara fisik selama 35 hari waktu pengamatan. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa formula yang mengandung ekstrak kemangi (1,25%), natrium benzoat (0,1%), alkohol 95% (0,5%), sorbitol (20%), gliserin (10%), aqua menthae-piperetae (0,5%), dan aquadest merupakan formula yang paling baik aktivitasnya. Kata Kunci : Obat kumur, Kemangi (Ocimum americanum L), Streptococcus mutans, Karies gigi.  AbstractKemangi herbs (Ocimum americanum L) empirically has inhibitory activity against the Streptococcus mutans bacteria that known to cause dental caries. This research aimed to inquire the antibacterial activity of a preparation containing ethanol extract of kemangi herbs in mouthwash dosage forms. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration of kemangi extract was 0,3% w/v. Performance of the gargle formula of kemangi extract showed the brown solution that has the odor of mint and "kemangi", and also taste of mint and sweet. Kemangi extract has a bactericide character against the Streptococcus mutans bacteria with a contact time of 60 seconds. The gargle formula physically stable during 35 days observation. The result showed that the antibacterial activity of the formula containing kemangi extract (1.25%), sodium benzoate (0.1%), alcohol 95% (0.5%), sorbitol (20%), glycerin (10%), aqua menthaepiperetae (0.5%), and aquadest is the best formula. Keywords: Gargle, Kemangi (Ocimum americanum L.), Streptococcus mutans, Dental caries.

Abstract

AbstrakTelah dilakukan penelitian antibakteri terhadap ekstrak dan fraksi daun Ficus pubinervis dengan metode mikrodilusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol, fraksi n-heksan dan fraksi etil asetat daun Ficus pubinervis memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri gram positif (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, dan Bacillus subtilis) serta bakteri gram negatif (Escherchia coli, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa) terkecuali fraksi air yang tidak menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri. Kemudian dilakukan karakterisasi ekstrak dan fraksi dengan metode kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT). Ekstrak etanol daun Ficus pubinervis menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri dengan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum lebih dari 1000 mg/mL, sedangkan pada fraksi n-heksan dan fraksi etil asetat menunjukkan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum lebih dari 1000 mg/mL.  Kata kunci : daun Ficus pubinervis, antibakteri, mikrodilusi, kromatografi lapis tipis  AbstractThere has been conducted research to determine antibacterial activity of extracts and fractions from Ficus pubinervis leaf using microdilution method. The research shows that ethanol extracts, n-hexane fraction and ethyl acetate fraction have antibacterial activity towards gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, and Bacillus subtilis) and gram negative bacteria (Escherchia coli, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) but water fraction doesn’t showed any antibacterial activity. Extract and fractions of Ficus pubinervis were characterized by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method. Ethanol extract of Ficus pubinervis leaf showed antibacterial activity with Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) were found more than 1000 mg/mL, while the n-hexane fraction and ethyl acetate fraction showed Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) more than 1000 mg/mL.  Keywords : Ficus pubinervis leaf, antibacterial, microdilution, thin layer chromatography

Abstract

Kedelai saat ini menjadi objek penelitian di bebrapa negara, termasuk Indonesia. Penelitian mengarah pada peningkatan mutu gizi kedelai. Lembaga riset pengembangan benih kedelai telah menghasilkan varietas-varietas unggul yang di lepas bagi petani agar didapatkan kedelai dengn kualitas baik. Jenis kedelai, lokasi geografis, dan metode pengolahan memberikan pengaruh besar pada kandungan senyawa aktif dalam biji kedelai. Satu hal yang penting dari kedelai sebagai pangan fungsional adalah kandungan isoflavon sebagai metabolit sekunder. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan pada biji kedelai varietas Burangrang, Deja 1 Derap 1, Gepak Kuning, Detam, Devon, Demas 1, Dena 1, dan Gema. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode kolorimetri, menggunakan radikal DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-pikrilhidrazil). Seluruh varietas biji kedelai positif memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang beragam, aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi dimiliki oleh kedelai varietas Dena (2818,36 µg/ml) dan aktivitas antioksidan terendah dimiliki oleh kedelai varietas Derap (5112,567 µg/ml). berdasarkan nilai IC50, keseluruhan biji kedelai termasuk dalam katagori lemah

Abstract

To improve the quality and accessibility of services, health services must maintain pace with technological advancements. One of the technologies that can be implemented in pharmacy services is an e-pharmacy-integrated medication sales information system. This can accelerate drug data processing, inventory management, and drug sales transactions, as well as make it easier for users to obtain accurate and up-to-date drug information. The integration of technology in pharmacy services with drug sales information systems can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of pharmaceutical services, as well as the management of drug stock in pharmacies. Through research, it is hoped to identify and analyze functional needs associated with designing and constructing e-pharmacy technology with information systems so that it can provide benefits for optimizing the use of information technology in providing users with easy access to information and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of technology-based services. As a consequence of the research, it is anticipated that the integration of technology in pharmacy services with a drug sales information system will yield greater community and health service benefits.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, stimulate education and awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Public health centers are at the front line of dealing with health problems, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The role, duties, and functions of the public health center are becoming increasingly important. All handling efforts to subscribe by the public health center require support from community components, one of which is public knowledge, especially regarding the transmission and methods of preventing Covid-19. The purpose of this community service activity is to directly educate the public about the new normal and support the health center in implementing healthy lifestyle. This service activity was designed by visiting the public health centers and counseling the community in Kabupaten Bandung, as well as distributing masks, hand soap, and hand sanitizers. The Public health center and the community appreciate this activity. The community gets knowledge and assistance regarding clean and healthy living habits. Support for these two aspects is expected to be one way to stop the spread of the COVID-19 infection in Bandung Regency.

Abstract

Background: One of the health problems is the high prevalence of stunting in toddlers. The main cause of stunting is nutrition. Early prevention efforts are needed to overcome stunting.Purpose: To determine the effect of exclusive breastfeeding and complete basic vaccination on the incidence of stunting.Method: A cross-sectional design was used in this study. Samples were taken from 80 respondents with purposive sampling techniques. Questionnaires are used as research instruments. The analysis used is the chi-square test.Results: Showed that there was a significant effect between exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting in toddlers (p = 0.001 and OR = 7.050 CI 95% = 2.150-23.117). There was a significant effect between complete basic vaccination on the incidence of stunting in toddlers (p = 0.039 and OR = 3.667 CI 95% = 1.191-11.285).Conclusion: Toddlers who are stunted are caused by the non-provision of exclusive breastfeeding at the age of 0-6 months and incomplete basic vaccination.Suggestion: To health workers to further educate cadres and the public about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and complete basic vaccination, as an effort to prevent stunting.Keywords: Stunting; Exclusive Breastfeeding; Basic vaccination; Toddlers.Pendahuluan: Permasalahan kesehatan salah satunya adalah tingginya prevalensi kejadian stunting pada balita. Penyebab utama stunting adalah gizi. Upaya pencegahan sejak dini sangat diperlukan untuk penanggulangan stunting.Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ASI eksklusif dan kelengkapan vaksinasi dasar terhadap kejadian stunting.Metode: Desain cross-sectional digunakan pada penelitian ini dengan sampel diambil sebanyak 80 responden dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kuesioner yang digunakan sebagai instrument penelitian. Analisis yang digunakan adalah uji chi-square.Hasil: Didapatkan ada pengaruh signifikan antara ASI eksklusif terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita (p=0,001 dan POR=7,050 CI 95%=2,150-23,117). Ada pengaruh signifikan antara kelengkapan vaksinasi dasar terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita (p=0,039 dan POR=3,667 CI 95%=1,191-11,285).Simpulan: Balita yang mengalami stunting disebabkan oleh tidak diberikannya ASI eksklusif saat berumur 0-6 bulan dan tidak lengkapnya vaksinasi dasar.Saran: Disarankan kepada tenaga kesehatan untuk lebih meningkatkan edukasi kepada kader dan masyarakat tentang pentingnya memberikan ASI eksklusif dan memberikan vaksinasi dasar secara lengkap, sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting.

Abstract

This study investigates the contribution of traditional medicine on health care access in Indonesia through a quantitative cross-cultural approach. Utilizing a sample of 350 individuals that is diverse in terms of age, gender, and ethnic background, the study investigates the prevalence and characteristics that impact the use of traditional medicine. The findings show that traditional healing methods are heavily relied upon, especially by elderly people and members of specific ethnic groups. The necessity for culturally responsive healthcare practices is highlighted by the discovery that cultural beliefs are important determinants of health-seeking behaviour. The results add to the growing body of knowledge about the integration of traditional medicine into modern healthcare systems by highlighting the significance of customizing therapies to the many cultural settings found throughout Indonesia.
