Abstract

Online lecture during Covid-19 outbreak is one of methods chosen to contain the spread of the virus and ensure the course objective can be achieved. However, such learning model brings some problems for the students of Islamic study program when learning statistics due to its difficult formulas to explain. Thus, this study aims to descriptively analyze the effectiveness of online lectures in educational statistics courses. Selected by purposive sampling, the sample of the study was third semester of Islamic education students in 2019/2020 academic year. The research data was collected through documentation of students' final grades and interviews via an online form. Based on the interviews, most students stated that the learning was effective.  This is also supported by the final grades of students who are mostly in the good category. However, the results also revealed some obstacles faced by the students in learning such as poor internet connection, the difficulty to understand the material and make a good discussion as well as the poor learning tools facility. Another finding obtained was that if the Covid-19 pandemic ends, the majority of students want face-to-face lectures, but not a few also want lectures with a combination of face-to-face and online (blended learning). Based on these results, blended learning can be an alternative choice for lecturers to implement in the future.Perkuliahan daring diera pandemic covid-19 merupakan alternatif yang dipilih untuk menekan menyebaran virus sekaligus memastikan terlaksananya dan tercapainya tujuan perkuliahan. Khususnya pada matakuliah statistika pendidikan di program studi PAI pembelajaran daring memiliki kesulitan tersendiri, sebab mahasiswa dihadapkan oleh data yang harus dianalisis dengan rumus tertentu, sehingga membutuhkan penjelasan yang lebih. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara deskriptif tentang keefektifan perkuliahan daring pada mata kuliah statistika pendidikan. Sampel yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa PAI semester III tahun akademik 2019/2020 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi nilai akhir mahasiswa dan wawancara melalui form online. Dari hasil respon mahasiswa tentang keefektifan perkuliahan daring yaitu sebagian besar menyatakan efektif. Hal ini didukung pula oleh nilai akhir mahasiswa yang sebagian besar berada pada kategori baik. Meskipun demikian, dari hasil penelitian diperoleh pula informasi tentang kendala yang dihadapi mahasiswa yaitu sulitnya jaringan internet, sulit memahami materi, sulitnya berdiskusi, serta perangkat yang kurang memadai. Temuan lain yang diperoleh adalah jika pandemik covid-19 berakhir maka mayoritas mahasiswa menginginkan perkuliahan tatap muka, namun tidak sedikit juga menginginkan perkuliahan dengan kombinasi antara tatap muka dan online (blended learning). Berdasarkan hasil ini maka blended learning bisa menjadi alternatif pilihan dosen dalam melaksanakan perkuliahan dimasa mendatang.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan efikasi diri dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP pada mata pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada kelas VIII dengan jumlah 56 siswa di Kecamatan Kontukowuna. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah korelasi deskripsi dengan sampel dipilih secara random sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis sebanyak 4 soal dan non tes efikasi diri sebanyak 25 item. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan deskriptif korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan efikasi diri siswa SMP pada mata pelajaran matematika dengan nilai korelasi (0,62).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbedaan keefektifan guided discovery meggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dan konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis, prestasi belajar, dan self-efficacy matematika siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri di Kontukowun, kabupaten Muna dan kelas VIII-1 dan Kelas VIII-2 dipilih secara acak sebagai sampel. Untuk mengetahui keefektifan guided discovery menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dan konvensional menggunakan uji one sample t-test, sedangkan untuk perbedaan keefektifan metode pembelajaran menggunakan uji two group manova. Jika terdapat perbedaan maka dilanjutkan dengan uji perbandingan menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa guided discovery menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis, prestasi belajar, dan self-efficacy; metode konvensional tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis, prestasi belajar, dan self-efficacy; dan guided discovery menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual lebih efektif dibandingkan konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis, prestasi belajar, dan self-efficacy. The effectiveness of guided discovery using the contextual approach in terms of critical thinking ability, achievement, and self-efficacyAbstractThe aim of the study aims to describe the effectiveness of guided discovery using the contextual approach in terms of critical thinking ability, learning achievement and self-efficacy in the mathematics of junior high school students. The study was quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design method. The population in this research was all 8th-grade students from one public junior high school in Kontukowuna, Muna Regency, Indonesia and class VIII-1 and VIII-2 were randomly selected as a sample. One sample t-test was used to determine the effectiveness of the guided discovery using the contextual approach and the conventional method. Whereas, two groups of Manova was used to know the difference between the learning methods. Then, if the result showed there is a significant difference between the two classes, the independent sample t-test was administered. Result of the study indicates that the guided discovery using the contextual approach is effective in terms of critical thinking ability, learning achievement, and self-efficacy; the conventional method is not effective in terms of critical thinking ability, learning achievement, and self-efficacy; and the guided discovery using contextual approach is more effective than conventional in terms of critical thinking ability, learning achievement, and self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study attemps to analyze the implementation of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic at SD Negeri 92 Kendari. This type of research is qualitative with observation, interviews and documentation as data collection methods. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed (1) Teachers at SD Negeri 92 Kendari used WhatsApp more in online learning during the covid-19 pandemic compared to the zoom meeting application and several other learning applications (2) the implementation of bold learning was carried out at the homes of each student who starting with the teacher opening greetings, followed by attendance, then the teacher sending the material in the form of pictures or videos through the WhatsApp group, then the teacher explained the material through voice notes and gave student assignments with the allotted time. (3) evaluation of bold activities is carried out to find out the progress and development of learning at home, as well as the success of students after carrying out the learning process during the covid-19 pandemic, then the results of the evaluation can be activated in improving student learning.Keywords: Online learning at Elementary School, Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics by applying the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model based on manipulative media in grade IV SD Negeri 04 Wolasi. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects were 20 students in grade IV SD Negeri 04 Wlasi. The classroom action research design used. The Kemmis and Taggart model which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data analysis used descriptive quantitative and qualitative statistics. The results showed that the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model based on manipulative media in Mathematics learning could improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 04 W0lasi. The improvement of student learning outcomes 35% with an average value of 52.8 in Pre Action Phase, 65% with an average value of 64.75 in cycle I, 90% with an average value of 74.75 in cycle II , and 100% with an average value of 77.4 in cycle III. The increase in student learning outcomes from pre-action to cycle I was 85.71%, cycle I to cycle II was 38.46%, and cycle II to cycle III was 11.11%.Keywords: Mathematics learning outcomes, realistic mathematics education, elementary school

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika merupakan kemampuan yang harus dimiliki siswa dalam menyongsong perkembangan IPTEK. Namun, faktanya kemampuan siswa Indonesia masih berada pada level menengah kebawah. Dengan demikian penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa pada sekolah SMPN Satu Atap di Kecamatan Kabawo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penilitian kualitatif. Populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kabawo tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan wawancara. Data yang telah dihimpun dianalisis secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kabawo masih tergolong rendah yaitu 0 % dengan katogori tinggi, 5.6% (2 siswa) dengan kategori sedang, dan 94.4% (34 siswa) dengan kategori rendah. Selain itu, jika ditinjau dari setiap aspek kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika, diperoleh hasil bahwa 30,2% mampu menyelesaikan soal pada aspek interpretasi, 20,1% mampu menyelesaikan soal pada aspek mengalisis, 20,1% menyelesaikan soal pada aspek mengevaluasi, dan 1,7% menyelesaikan soal pada aspek menyimpulkan.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dalam hal keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kecamatan Kontukowuna, Kabupaten Muna, Sulawesi Tenggara pada tahun 2016/2017. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui penyediaan empat item pertanyaan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, di mana setiap pertanyaan mewakili indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dan lembar observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji t satu sampel. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa nilai uji t 2,719> (t_0,05,27) = 2,0518, yang dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing efektif dalam hal kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Hasil ini didukung oleh peningkatan rata-rata pretest 27,66 ke posttest 76,00 yang lebih tinggi dari kriteria penguasaan mengajar minimum (KKM) dari 70. Abstract This study aimed to test the effectiveness of guided discovery learning method using a contextual approach in terms of students' critical thinking skills of SMP. Type of research used was quasi experiment. Population in this research was all VIII grader students of Senior High School in sub-district Kontukowuna, Muna districts, Southeast Sulawesi in 2016/2017. Data collection was obtained through the provision of four items of question of critical thinking skills test instrumen, where each question represents an indicator of critical thinking ability and observation sheet of learning implementation. Research result was analyzed using one sample t test. The findings showed that t test value 2,719> (t_0.05,27) = 2.0518, which can be concluded that the guided discovery learning method was effective in terms of the critical thinking ability of junior high school students. This result was supported by the increase of average of pretest 27.66 to posttest 76.00 which was higher than the minimum teaching mastery criteria (KKM) of 70.

Abstract

This article reports the result of semi-experimental study which aims to determine and assess the improvement of students’ mathematics learning outcomes after they are exposed to interactive multimedia-assisted problem-based learning model. The sample is 7th grade students at one of junior high school in Kendari. They were selected using cluster random sampling technique. Based on the result of data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics, the interactive multimedia assisted-problem based learning can improve the students’ mathematics learning outcomes. The result of the study revealed the increase of the average after being taught with interactive multimedia assisted-problem based learning models with 21.2 units and the significance value of 0.00. Interactive multimedia-assisted-problem based learning can be an alternative for mathematical activeness and abilities, which have an impact on improving student mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Distance learning, which is the only alternative to learning during the pandemic, is faced with various problems that arise in the field. This research was conducted to examine the portrait of distance learning at SD Negeri 5 Ranomeeto and to see the effect of the use of distance learning methods on student learning outcomes at the school. This study employed quantitative research with a survey approach. The total population was 40 students with a saturated sampling technique. Data on distance learning conditions at SDN 5 Ranomeeto were collected through interview and observation methods. Meanwhile, data on distance learning methods were collected using a questionnaire, and data on learning outcomes was obtained from students' daily test scores. Data analysis was carried out by means of qualitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis consisting of classical assumption test, while hypothesis testing used a simple linear regression test. The results of this study indicate that distance learning at SD Negeri 5 Ranomeeto utilizes the WhatsApp application. This learning provides a lot of time for students to take part in learning, but parents consider that the use of the WhatsApp application in distance learning is less effective and students quickly feel bored participating in learning. The distance learning method has a significant effect on student learning outcomes with the t-count value greater than the t-table value (8.818 > 2.024).
