Abstract

Nefropati Diabetik merupakan komplikasi kronis dari Diabetes Melitus (DM) tipe 2. Untuk mencegah timbulnya atau progresi nefropati maka dibutuhkan biomarker yang dapat mendeteksi adanya gangguan ginjal pada tahap dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan kadar KIM-1 urin dan korelasi kadar KIM-1 dengan albuminuria pada pasien DM Non Nefropati, Insipien Nefropati dan Nefropati Diabetik serta peran KIM-1 sebagai biomarker dini Nefropati Diabetik. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Rmah Sakit Umum Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo dan rumah sakit jejaringnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan jumlah pasien DM tipe 2 sebanyak 78 orang yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar KIM-1 pada pasien DM Non Nefropati (albuminuria [uALB] <20 mg/L), Insipien Nefropati (uALB 20-300 mg/L) dan Nefropati Diabetik (uALB >300 mg/L) berturut-turut adalah 0.862±0.246 ng/mL, 2.409±0.816 ng/mL dan 3.503±0.370 ng/mL. Terdapat perbedaan rerata kadar KIM-1 antara DM Non Nefropati dan Insipien Nefropati (sig=0.000 p<0.05), DM Non Nefropati dan Nefropati Diabetik (sig=0.000 p<0.05), Insipien Nefropati dan Nefropati Diabetik (sig=0.000 p<0.05). Korelasi antara kadar KIM-1 dengan konsentrasi albuminuria pada pasien DM Non Nefropati (r= 0.948; sig<0.05), Insipien Nefropati (r= 0.969; sig<0.05) dan Nefropati Diabetik (r= 0.911; sig<0.05). Terdapat kadar KIM-1 yang melewati batas normal (>0.837 ng/mL) pada pasien DM Non Nefropati (normoalbuminuria) sehingga KIM-1 dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai biomarker dini Nefropati Diabetik.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat institusi dosen dan mahasiswa politeknik kesehatan kementrian kesehatan kupang dilakukan pada 28 Oktober 2018. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diselenggarakan secara bersama-sama jurusan keperawatan, kebidanan, keperawatan gigi, gizi, farmasi, kesehatan lingkungan dan analis kesehatan. Program studi analisis kesehatan memfokuskan pada beberapa pemeriksaan kesehatan salah satunya adalah pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol total dan glukosa darah menggunakan point of care testing (POCT) autocheck. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan melakukan screening terhadap kadar kolesterol dan gula darah masyarakat sekaligus memberikan pemahaman tentang bahaya kadar kolesterol dan gula darah yang tinggi pada kesehatan. Masyarakat yang hadir dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah semua warga yang ada pada wilayah kelurahan lasiana kupang. Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol total dan gula darah masyarakat lasiana menunjukan rata-rata penduduk memiliki kadar kolesterol total dan gula darah yang normal namun yang menarik bahwa untuk kadar dengan risiko tertinggi pada jenis kelamin perempuan yaitu 19 %. Sedangkan kelompok laki-laki banyak yang memiliki nilai kolesterol yang relatif normal. Hal yang sama juga pada kadar glukosa darah sewaktu dimana masyarakat yang gula darah sewaktunya normal (106 -144 mg/dL) sebanyak 11 orang, kadar glukosa darah sewaktu rendah (106 mg/dL) terdapat pada 28 orang dan tinggi sebanyak 5 orang.   Kata Kunci : Kolesterol, Gula Darah, Lasiana

Abstract

Anemia in school–age children will not only cause harm to health but also will have impact on students learning achievement. Thus, anemic children will indirectly affect the national development. The aim of this study is to observe the correlation between malnutrition, worm infection, parents income and knowledge on anemia prevalence among 6–9 years old children. The method of this research was a cross sectional study with a simple random sampling technique, consisted of 222 participants from Liliba Inpres Elementary School. This study was done by measuring children Body Mass Indeks (BMI) ––age to measure the z score and compare to WHO Children growth standard, by using microscope examination with direct method for identifying helminthiasis, by using questionaries to measure the parent knowledge and parent income and also by measuring haemoglobin values using POCT Device. The results showed that there are correlations between malnutrition and worm infection on anemia prevalence (p value 0.000). However, there are no correlations between parent’s knowledge (p value 0.469) and parent’s income on anemia prevalence among 6–9 years old children on Liliba Inpres Elementary School (p value 0.606). In conclusion, these findings confirm that malnutrition and worm infection was correlated with anemia prevalence on Liliba Inpres Elementary School Students so that they are advised to manage their nutritional intake and to practice personal hygiene.

Abstract

Hepatitis B is caused by acute or chronic hepatitis B virus infection. It is the most dangerous liver disease compared to other liver diseases due to its lack of apparent symptoms. The symptoms include slight jaundice in the eyes and skin accompanied by lethargy. This study aimed to determine the risk factors for intra-familial transmission of hepatitis B virus for household contacts of hepatitis B patients. The analytical correlation study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from June to July 2018 in Alak subdistrict, Kupang, Indonesia. Venous blood was collected from 45 subjects consisting of 12 patients and 33 family member. Examination was then performed using HBsAg test strip, resulting in the percentage of transmission of 15.15%. Statistical analysis revealed p>0.05. In conclusions, no relationship between gender, age, education, marital status, occupation, and HBsAg status. These characteristics are not risk factors for conversion of HBsAg status. FAKTOR RISIKO PENULARAN VIRUS HEPATITIS B KONTAK SERUMAH DI ANTARA PASIEN HEPATITIS B DI KUPANG, INDONESIAHepatitis B disebabkan oleh infeksi virus hepatitis B yang bersifat akut atau kronik. Penyakit ini termasuk penyakit hati yang paling berbahaya dibanding dengan penyakit hati yang lain karena tidak menunjukkan gejala yang jelas. Gejalanya hanya sedikit warna kuning pada mata dan kulit disertai lesu. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui faktor risiko penularan virus hepatitis B pada kontak serumah pasien hepatitis B. Penelitian korelasi analitik dengan desain cross-sectional ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai Juli 2018 di Kecamatan Alak, Kupang, Indonesia. Darah vena diambil dari 45 subjek yang terdiri atas 12 pasien dan 33 anggota keluarga. Pemeriksaan kemudian dilakukan menggunakan strip tes HBsAg menghasilkan persentase penularan 15,15%. Analisis statistik didapatkan p>0,05. Simpulan, tidak terdapat hubungan antara jenis kelamin, usia, pendidikan, status pernikahan, pekerjaan, dan status HbsAg. Karakteristik ini bukan faktor risiko untuk konversi status HBsAg.

Abstract

Diabetic nephropathy is a chronic complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). To prevent the onset or progression of nephropathy, a biomarker is needed that can detect kidney problems at an early stage. This study aims to determine differences in urine KIM-1 levels and correlation of levels of KIM-1 with albuminuria in patients with Non-Nephropathy DM, Insipien Nephropathy and Diabetic Nephropathy and the role of KIM-1 as an early biomarker of Diabetic Nephropathy. This research was conducted at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo and his networking hospital. This study used a cross-sectional design with the number of type 2 DM patients as many as 78 people who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that KIM-1 levels in patients with Non-Nephropathy DM (albuminuria [uALB] <20 mg/L), Ineffective Nephropathy (uALB 20-300 mg / L) and Diabetic Nephropathy (uALB> 300 mg/L) respectively is 0.862 ± 0.246 ng / mL, 2.409 ± 0.816 ng/mL and 3.503 ± 0.370 ng / mL. There were differences in mean KIM-1 levels between Non Nephropathy and Nephropathy Insipid (sig = 0.000 p <0.05), Non Nephropathy and Diabetic Nephropathy (sig = 0.000 p <0.05), Insipid Nephropathy and Diabetic Nephropathy (sig = 0.000 p <0.05) Correlation between KIM-1 level with albuminuria concentration in patients with Non Nephropathy DM (r = 0.948; sig <0.05), Nephropathy Insipien (r = 0.969; sig <0.05) and Diabetic Nephropathy (r = 0.911; sig <0.05). There are levels of KIM-1 that exceed the normal limit (> 0.837 ng / mL) in patients with non-nephropathy DM (normoalbuminuria) so that KIM-1 can be considered as an early biomarker of diabetic nephropathy.

Abstract

The correlation of the length of time undergoing hemodialysis with the levels of hemoglobin, hematocrit, serum iron and total iron binding capacity in patients with chronic kidney disease at RSUD Prof. Dr. W. Z. Johannes Kupang. People with chronic kidney disease who are performing Hemodialysis suffer from anemia. Blood loss during the hemodialysis process is affected by frequent blood sampling for laboratory tests. To diagnose the occurrence of iron deficiency, anemia laboratory tests such as complete blood, serum iron (SI), TIBC, transferrin saturation, and serum ferritin can be conducted. The objective of this study is to determine the correlation between the length of undergoing Hemodialysis with the levels of Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, Serum Iron, and Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) in patients with chronic kidney disease in RSUD Prof. Dr.W. Z Johannes Kupang. This study employed an anon-reactive research design or unobtrusive research based on secondary data derived from medical record records at RSUD Prof. Dr.W. Johannes in August - September 2019 on 92 hemodialysis patients who met the inclusion criteria. The collected data were calculated with the SPSS application, while the correlation analysis between variables was performed by administering a linear regression analysis test. Ninety-two (92) respondents were obtained by employing the purposive sampling technique. The majority of patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing Hemodialysis were men (57.6%) with ages 39 - 59 years (63.0%), and the majority of patients undergoing Hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney failure (CKD) were <12 months (41.3%). It was discovered that there was no relationship between the length of Hemodialysis with hemoglobin, hematocrit, serum iron, and total iron-binding capacity levels in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a lung infection characterized by pulmonary infiltrates and the formation of caseous granulomas, fibrosis, and cavities. TB is the second leading cause of death from infectious diseases worldwide, after the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). To reduce the death rate due to TB, the government carried out the Find Drugs Until Heal program with examinations for 6-9 months to kill the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria with anti-tuberculosis drugs, namely Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Ethambutanol, Streptomycin, and Pyrazinamide. Anti Tuberculosis Drugs can cause fever, nausea and hematological reactions such as anemia, agranulocytosis, eosinophilia and thrombocytopenia. The research method used is descriptive using a cross sectional approach, namely to find out the description of hemoglobin levels in Tuberculosis patients who consume Anti Tuberculosis Drugs. 60%, in the productive age of 31-50 years with a percentage of 67% and occurs in patients with two months of treatment, namely initial or intensive treatment with a percentage of 87%.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Paparan pestisida merupakan hal yang tidak dapat dihindarkan dari pekerjaan petani. Penggunaan pestisida sebagai salah satu metode untuk mengendalikan hama pada tanaman padi memiliki resiko terjadinya paparan pada petani yang dapat menimbulkan keracunan yang dapat dideteksi dengan pemeriksaan cholinesterase dari darah petani. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar  cholinesterase dari darah petani di Desa Buraen. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan desain analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional, sampel penelitian yaitu 15 orang petani sawah yang telah menjalankan pekerjaan minimal 10 tahun, dilakukan pengambilan darah vena kemudian serum diperiksa menggunakan instrument Photometer 5010 dengan metode Optikal DGKC dengan nilai rujukan laki-laki: 4.620 U/L – 11.500 U/L dan perempuan: 3.930 U/L – 10.800 U/L. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ditemukan 80% penurunan aktifitas cholinesterase terutama pada petani laki-laki, berusia 51-60 tahun serta masa kerja kurang dari 15 tahun. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan kadar cholinesterase pada sebagain besar petani sawah di Desa Buraen abnormal.

Abstract

Background: School-aged children between 6-12 years are a vulnerable group that could be affected by malnutrition, which may cause growth failure and affect their school achievement. East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, is known as the province with the highest cases of malnutrition. Objective: This study aimed to determine serum total protein and albumin levels among malnourished elementary-aged children. Serum total protein and albumin are biochemical parameters that give valuable data due to malnutrition. Methods: This study employed a case-control design. Purposive sampling was used to select the samples with a total of 90 children aged 6 – 12 years, of which 45 were assigned to a case group and a control group. The children’s blood was collected and analyzed using Riele Photometer 5010. The Biuret method was applied for total protein and bromocresol green for albumin serum. Independent sample t-test with a significant value <0.05 was used to determine the difference between mean total protein and albumin levels. Results: The percentage of low total protein levels in malnourished children was 36%, and the percentage of low albumin levels was 27%. The mean level of total protein and albumin was found to be lower in malnourished than in well-nourished children, 6.324±1.1748 g/dL vs. 7.047±0.6330 g/dL (p = <0.001), and 3.927 g/dL±0.7779 g/dL vs. 4.242 g/dL±0.5272 (p = 0.016), respectively. Conclusion: There were significant differences in total protein and albumin serum among malnourished and well-nourished children. The results may serve as basic information for further studies or to create an intervention to reduce malnutrition.
