Abstract

Rapid technological progress, encourage journalism industry contributed penetrated on digitization, with the emergence of the phenomenon of online journalism. In the era of online journalism itself, journalists are required to follow the conditions of the readers in the virtual world, where information is required for fast-paced. But on the other hand, online journalists are also required to have more skills than conventional journalists, where the skills in providing both visual and writing content are also required to be faster and creative in innovating the appearance of news and information in writing in multiplatform. The journalistic skills required for this versatility create problems that arise, namely the professionalism of journalists themselves, in which the process of collecting news, processing, and presenting news is not in accordance with the ethics of professionalism of online journalists. This paper aims to find out how the problems and professionalism of online journalism. The positive impact of the professionalism of online journalism includes being required to be more skilled in the provision of both visual and writing content, as well as being required to be faster and creative in innovating the appearance of news and information. But in addition there are other problems, first about the collection of news that is vulnerable to plagiarism. Second, about news reporting, which shifts the practice of "pre-verification" to "post-verification", and third on the aspect of presenting the news, which gave birth to the title journalism phenomenon.Keyword: Journalistic Digitalization, Convergence,  New media, Online Journalism, Online Professionalism Journalism, Digital Communication

Abstract

Pada tahun 2019 Indonesia menyelenggarakan pesta demokrasi yakni Pemilihan Presiden (Pilpres). Tujuan dari sosialisasi dan pendampingan pada program literasi politik dan media di UMMagelang adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa pemilih pemula terhadap ilmu-ilmu politik dasar, meningkatkan tingkat pemahaman mengenai sosial media sebagai salah satu alat kampanye politik, meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai efek negatif dan positif dari penggunaan sosial media sebagai salah satu alat kampanye, sehingga mitra dapat memilih secara rasional, meningkatkan rasa kepercayaan pada proses pemilihan umum sebagai salah satu sarana perbaikan kehidupan masyarakat dan Negara, dan meningkatkan partisipasi aktif mitra dalam agenda pemilihan umum. Mitra yang menjadi target dalam kegiatan ini adalah Mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UMMagelang) tingkat pertama dan kedua dan Karang Taruna Desa Menayu, Kecamatan Muntilan yang terindikasi masuk ke dalam daftar pemilih pemula. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah Mass-Based Interactive Approach. Pelatihan dan sosialisasi program ini akan dilaksanakan sebanyak satu kali, dengan mengundang tutor dari Komisi Pemilihan Umum Daerah Kota Magelang. Hasil yang dicapai dari kegiatan ini adalah 1) Target mitra memahami pentingnya untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam pemilu; 2) Target mitra memahami ragam alat kampanye politik terdiri atas alat peraga kampanye konvensional dan digital; 3) Mahasiswa lebih sadar akan pelanggaran-pelanggaran dalam kegiatan kampanye seperti hate speech, berita bohong atau hoax, hingga perang tagar dibandingkan dengan pemuda di Desa Manayu; 4) Mahasiswa cenderung mengarah sebagai pemilih rasional sedangkan pemuda karang taruna cenderung mengarah ke pemilih skeptis dalam pemilu.

Abstract

Kabupaten Magelang memiliki potensi dan analisis performansi yang tinggi. Di sana terdapat Candi Borobudur yang menjadi salah satu destinasi prioritas untuk mencapai target kunjungan yang ditentukan oleh kementerian pariwisata tahun 2019. Namun di sisi lain, Kabupaten Magelang memiliki permasalahan pada lama kunjungan wisatawan yang sangat pendek, menyebabkan tidak optimalnya sektor pariwisata yang berimbas pada minimnya pendapatan daerah. Untuk mencapai target tersebut strategi dalam promosi pariwisata dilakukan khususnya dengan komunikasi pemasaran kepariwisataan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian deskriptif dipilih untuk memaparkan strategi pengembangan promosi pariwisata di Kabupaten Magelang. Teknik penarikan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi langsung dengan informan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan, pariwisata berbasis masyarakat dan peran aktif masyarakat dalam mempromosikan wisata melalui pendekatan digital sangat berdampak dalam pengembangan potensi dan promosi pariwisata di Kabupaten Magelang.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to implement biogas energy as an alternative energy for micro-scale power plants, given the considerable potential possessed by Gedangan Village, Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency. The implementation method used in this activity is participatory rural appraisal approach that involves the active role of the community, to resolve problems or obstacles faced by dairy farmers with. The activity begins with the identification of the problems faced by the partners, then the design and implementation of the conversion of biogas to electricity as a micro-scale biogas power plant and ends with assistance to dairy farmers and the community. The result of the activity is production of biogas energy power plants in three locations with potential energy of 15 KW, which can be used to reduce management and maintenance costs for dairy cows and household needs as well. This activity also facilitates knowledge transfer to the people of Gedangan Village, Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency to be able to independently develop this biogas energy source. Thus this service activity provides considerable benefits for the residents of Gedangan Village, Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency in fulfilling energy from the conversion of biogas to electrical energy.

Abstract

The utilization of social media in distributing the information towards covid-19 pandemi is one of the effort from government and society. The access to information through social media has contribute to the pandemi prevention process by re-posting the pictures about health protocol standard. This study aims to characterize the representation of information from social movements and Covid-19 prevention in Indonesia carried out on Instagram social media in 2020-2021. Using qualitative content analysis, manually fetchingInstagram posts with relevant metadata from a social media influencer account @dr.tirta, a government social media account @kemenkes_ri, and an account initiated by public @pandemitalks. Data was collected from March 2020 to June 2021, with 1123 key content and 164 extracted codes analyzed using thematic analysis. It was found that social media is one of the media relied on by the public in accessing Covid 19 information. The input is divided into three general categories including the information needs of the Indonesian people, community problems during the Covid-19 pandemi, and government regulations and policies. And 15 themes that emerged as outputs included health protocols, care, treatment of covid patients, diet and lifestyle, diagnosis and treatment, criticism, innuendo, pregnant women and children, psychology, wrong behavior and habits, misinformation. wrong, political, economic impact and social and cultural impact. Analysis of Instagram post content during a public health crisis can provide new information and realistic insights in a crisis and identify topics of public interest or concern. What information is gathered in this way can help policymakers identify the most critical issues from a public perspective and utilize the knowledge gained to manage ongoing and future pandemis

Abstract

The Covid-19 volunteer task force program at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (Unimma) aims to prevent and break the chain of the spread of COVID-19 in the campus environment. There are several methods, including screening, surveillance, as well as media publications and promotions. The results of the Unimma Covid-19 volunteer task force program obtained surveillance results with one suspect, three probable and no confirmed patients, close contact and discarded. In addition, the academic community at Unimma understands the importance of health protocols and is supported by the creation of poster materials posted on campus and social media Instagram and YouTube.

Abstract

It is necessary to develop community empowerment initiatives in the Covid era, one of which entails holding workshops on the use of garden medicinal herbs. Socialization and workshop in this program is aimed at increasing the empowerment of rural communities in optimizing garden yields and independent, creative, and innovative entrepreneurship for the people of Dusun Tegalsari. When evaluation and monitoring were carried out a month following the program, the training activities went smoothly and successfully. As a result, there is an increase in public knowledge of the use of medical plant cultivation to boost income through the development of new products.

Abstract

Introduction to English from an early age is needed to prepare the next generation for success in the globalization era. Unfortunately, not all early childhood education institutions have English teachers. Therefore, this activity aims to introduce English to early childhood at TwinQ Kids School. The Interactive Read-Aloud (IRA) method was chosen, which was delivered bilingually (English-Indonesian). This program has an impact on the development and strengthening of English linguistics in students and shows positive involvement in behavioral, cognitive, and affective aspects during the activity.

Abstract

Literature Review ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan bagaimana komponen – komponen Interactive Read-Aoud (IRA) yang banyak digunakan oleh guru – guru pengajar bahasa dalam konteks yang beragam dan mendiskusikan bagaimana mengimplementasikannya dalam konteks English as a Foreign Language (EFL) di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan yakni studi literatur dengan menggunakan tujuh komponen IRA dalam penelitian Fisher dkk. (2004) sebagai pustaka utama yang akan diulas dengan pustaka lainnya untuk memaparkan bagimana penggunaan IRA dalam konteks EFL. Dalam mengkontekstualisasikan ketujuh komposnen tersebut, ulasan mendalam akan dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan latar belakang budaya, kompetensi bahasa guru EFL, level kompetensi siswa, dan tingkat ketertarikan buku. Harapannya, ulasan ini dapat menjadi pedoman bagi guru EFL untuk membantu mengatasi keterbatasan bahasa dan mendotong penggunaan IRA sebagai kegiatan untuk memahami bacaan berbasa Inggris bersama siswa.

Abstract

Social media grow rapidly and encourage people to access the information in a quick way. Turun Tangan is a non-profit organization and used social media as tools to share information and expand its network. As such, a social media training is very needed. The training was conducted in three sections, Digital Literacy Skills seminar, Digital Content Creation training, and Copywriting training. The training was held online and there were 100 Turun Tangan volunteers participated in the program. From the training, they get information about basic digital literacy skills and upgrade their digital skills in creating creative digital content and copywriting.
