Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik pembelajaran STAD dan gaya belajar pada pemahaman membaca teks siswa kelas delapan di SMP 17 Agustus 1945 Cluring. Penelitian ini mencakup tiga variable, yaitu; teknik STAD sebagai variable bebas, gaya belajar sebagai variable moderator, dan pemahaman membaca sebagai variable terikat. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini, 60 siswa dilibatkan sebagai sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain 2 x 2 faktorial. Data diperoleh melalui tes dan kuisioner lalu dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ANAVA Dua Jalur dan tes Tukey, dengan hasil sebagai berikut: 1) terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara pemahaman membaca siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik STAD dibandingkan dengan hasil pemahaman membeca siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional; 2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pemahaman membaca siswa field dependent dan siswa field independent; 3) terdapat pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan antara teknik pembelajaran (STAD dan konvensional) dan gaya belajar (field dependent dan field independent) siswa terhadap pemahaman membaca; 4) terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada pemahaman membaca antar siswa yang field dependent yang diajar dengan menggunkan teknik STAD dan siswa yang field dependent yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional; dan 5) terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada pemahaman membaca antar siswa yang field independent yang diajar dengan menggunkan teknik STAD dan siswa yang field independent yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional.Kata Kunci : teknik STAD, gaya belajar, dan pemahaman bacaan. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of STAD technique and learning style the eight grade student’s reading comprehension of SMP 17 Agustus 1945 Cluring. This research involved three types of variables, namely; STAD technique as independent variable, learning style as moderator variable, and reading comprehension as dependent variable. To conduct this research, 60 students were selected as the sample. The design of this research was 2 x 2 factorial designs. The data were collected through test and questionnaire, and were then analyzed by using Statistical Two-Way ANAVA and Tukey test. The result of this study showed that: 1) there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students who are taught by using STAD technique and those taught by using the conventional technique; 2) there is a significant difference of reading comprehension between field dependent and field independent students; 3) there is a significant interactional effect between the teaching techniques (STAD and conventional) and students’ learning style (field dependent and field independent) on students’ reading comprehension; 4) there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students field dependent who are taught by using STAD technique and those who are taught by using the conventional technique; and 5) there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students field independent who are taught by using STAD technique and those who are taught by using the conventional technique. keyword : STAD technique, learning style, reading comprehension.

Abstract

UMKM chicken slaughterhouse continues to grow along with the busyness of the community and the dynamics of social life. Chicken meat is one of the food ingredients that gives a very large contribution to the needs of animal protein which is quite high for humans. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to increase productivity and knowledge of the Chicken Slaughtering Micro Business Group in Bulusan Village, Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi. PKM activities are carried out by producing production equipment such as energy-saving chicken feathers and energy storage media with sufficient capacity. This activity has an impact on increasing the productivity of businesses that are developed. In addition there was an increase in business turnover, operational knowledge of the tool so that the operational life of the tool is longer.

Abstract

English is an international language that is used as the language of world communication. Indonesian migrant workers and eks-migrant workers need the ability to communicate in English because it can affect their level of success while working in other countries. This community service activity aims to provide basic English language learning assistance to eks-TKI in sub village of Sumberwaru village, Tamanagung sub-district, Cluring, Bbanyuwangi district which is 30 kilometers from the center of the district administration. The training was attended by 12 people with four face-to-face meetings each with a duration of 2 hours. Face-to-face meetings are conducted with lecture and demonstration methods, followed by practice / practice. The subject presented was divided into three discussion materials, namely Part of speech, Tenses, and Sentences. The obstacles faced in the activity were relatively short training times and varied material capture of the participants. In general, this activity went well and received enthusiastic welcome from the participants who participated in the training completely.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memamparkan data dan mendeskripsikan kesalahan pengucapan English Diphtongs pada siswa-siswa kelas X Jurusan Perikanan (APHP dan APAT) di SMKN 1 Glagah, Banyuwangi melalui aplikasi android “English Pronunciation, By Kepham”. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan beberapa langkah yaitu identifikasi, kategori, analisis dan menyimpulkan data. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan tes pengucapan, kuessioner dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase rata-rata pada kesalahan pengucapan diftong adalah sebesar 55,60% dengan kesalahan dikategorikan “sedang”. Jenis kesalahan pengucapan yang paling sering terjadi berada pada jenis substitutions dengan frekuensi sebanyak 513 kali pada delapan jenis diftong yaitu [eɪ], [aɪ], [ɔɪ], [aʊ], [əʊ], [ɪə], [eə], dan [ʊə]. Kesalahan pengucapan omissions, terjadi pada dua jenis diftong yaitu [eɪ] dengan frekuensi kesalahan pengucapan 1 kali dan [əʊ] dengan frekuensi kesalahan pengucapan 1 kali. Untuk kesalahan pengucapan addition terjadi pada satu jenis diftong yaitu [eɪ] dengan frekuensi kesalahan pengucapan 1 kali. Hal-hal tersebut disebabkan karena 27 dari 58 responden (46,55%) mengakui bahwa mereka kadang-kadang dan tidak pernah dalam menggunakan smartphone untuk belajar bahasa Inggris secara mandiri. Sebagian besar responden menggunakan smartphone untuk keperluan berinteraksi di dunia maya bersama teman, dan diskusi bersama dengan teman tentang mata pelajaran yang lainnya.

Abstract

Online motorcycle taxi is a transportation mode that is also developing in the Banyuwangi regency. The development of regional tourism is the potential for foreign tourists as users of the services. This study aims to analyze the need for communication in English among online motorcycle taxi drivers in Banyuwangi . The study was conducted with a direct survey of 20 male drivers. The selection of respondents was done by using the snow ball method. Data were collected by means of a questionnaire containing 7 questions, each of which has 4 answer choices. Questionnaire data are grouped according to answers and analyzed according to existing theories. The results showed that online motorcycle taxi drivers need to improve communication skills in English for services to foreign tourists.

Abstract

Bahasa dalam sepakbola memiliki kekhasan berdasarkan istilah-istilah dan maknanya. Penyusunan daftar istilah penting untuk dilakukan agar tidak terjadi kesalahpahaman dalam pemaknaan suatu istilah, khususnya dalam dunia jurnalistik maupun dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi istilah berbahasa Inggris di cabang olahraga sepakbola (soccer term glossary). Hasil identifikasi dapat digunakan sebagai bahan awal untuk penyusunan kamus atau daftar istilah asing di sepakbola. Identifikasi dilakukan dengan penelusuran pustaka berbasis internet. Istilah asing berbahasa Inggris yang ditemukan disusun dalam urutan abjad. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan jumlah kata penyusun istilah-istilah asing tersebut dalam kategori jumlah kata penyusunnya yaitu kata tunggal dan dua kata atau lebih. Juga dilakukan identifikasi kesamaan istilah-istilah yang ditemukan. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan temuan sejumlah 462 istilah dengan kategori istilah-istilah yang sering atau banyak ditemukan karena berkaitan dengan permainan atau unsur dalam sepakbola itu sendiri seperti istilah ball, goal, pass, play/player dan lain-lain serta istilah-istilah umum yang memiliki makna tersendiri dalam sepakbola antara lain advantage, box, break dan lain-lain.

Abstract

Speaking interactive is one type of speaking that has long duration in conversation. This research aimed to find the problem and the problem solving in speaking interactive of student in SMK 17 Agustus 1945 Cluring. The research design was descriptive qualitative. The respondents were 136 which determined by using random sampling. The data were taken by using online system of questionnaire and interview. The data from questionnaire was analysed by using Likert scale. The data analysis was determined based on theory linguistics problem and non-linguistic problem. There are 3 problems in linguistic and there are 5 problems in non-linguistic. Analysis questionnaire and interview data showed that students at SMK 17 Agustus 1945 Cluring have high problem in speaking interactive. The type of speaking interactive problems had by students showed the percentage score of each indicator are 63% in speaking interactive problem, 62% in lack of grammar, 67% lack of vocabulary, 73% lack of pronunciation, 62% in lack of confident, 65% little talking time, 51% in lack of motivation, 61% in lack of listening skill, and 62% in lack of giving feedback. Based on the data result, the problem solving that is suitable in speaking interactive is having interactive conversation through Small Talk, Ome-Tv, and watching YouTube channel continuously in daily life.

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial mengalami peningkatan pada masa pandemi covid-19. Penggunaan media sosial yang berlebih dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif seperti kecanduan yang berujung pada tidak percaya diri, kecemasan sosial, stres, turunnya interaksi sosial. Maka dari itu tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis perencanaan kepala sekolah dalam menanggulangi dampak negatif penggunaan media sosial pasca pandemi covid-19 di lingkungan pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sampel penelitian ialah kepala sekolah di SD/MI PKM Kecamatan Kapongan Kabupaten Situbondo. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuisioner dan wawancara dengan bantuan google form. Berdasarkan analisis ditemukan hasil sebaagai berikut: 1. Mengembangkan kurikulum dengan memetakan pengembangan KI-2 (Kopetesi Inti Sikap Sosial) agar dapat menemukan materi dan tema yang akan diintegrasikan untuk meningkatkan sikap sosial siswa, 2. Berdiskusi dengan guru terkait penggunaan model pembelajaran yang inovatif khusus meningkatkan kopetensi sikap (afektif), 3. Membuat kebijakan tentang lebih menekankan penggunaan penilaian dan evaluasi di ranah kopetensi sikap (afektif). Diharapkan dengan hasil ini perbandingan model pembelajaran dan pengembangan penilaian yang lebih mengarah pada ranah sikap (afektif) pasca covid-19 dapat dilaksanakan.

Abstract

Online learning is the best solution for the teaching and learning process during Covid-19 pandemic.This study aims to determine students’ perceptions on the online learning implementation. The research method used in this research is survey method. The respondents were the all of students on English Educational Department at PGRI University of Banyuwangi. The technique sampling used the purposive sampling. The data collection method was carried out by filling out the questionnaire through Google Form and interviews to find out the students has a good or bad perception on the online learning implementation. The result of this research regarding the student’s perception on the online learning implementation during Covid-19 of English Educational Department students at PGRI Banyuwangi University is in the good category with the overall percentage is 65%. For the result of the interviews, the implementation on the online learning during Covid-19 pandemic can help them to carrying out the learning process easier. However, there are still some obstacles of the implementation on the online learning such as lack of understanding and an unsupported internet network. As for suggestion from the researcher, the students should be actively looking for the materials from the other sources, not only receive from the lecture. It aims to make the learning process more effective.

Abstract

Figurative language is a language that uses expressions with different meanings from literal interpretations. This research used thirteen types of figurative language. They are hyperbole, simile, metaphor, personification, irony, metonymy, synecdoche, litotes, symbol, paradox, allegory, antithesis, and sarcasm. This research focuses on analyzing the types of figurative language found on the album entitled “25” by Adele. The objectives of this research are to find out the types and meaning of figurative language of the song lyrics on the album entitled “25” and to find out the most dominant figurative language used in the song lyrics in the album entitled "25". In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative method. The results of this research show nine types of figurative language in the song lyrics. They are hyperbole 19,04%, simile 14,28%, metaphor 4,76%, personification 9,52%, metonymy 14,28%, symbol 9,52%, litotes 4,76%, paradox 9,52%, and allegory 9,52%. The dominant figurative language is hyperbole. It is used to compose beautiful sentences that will give a dramatic impression and can emphasize emotions.
