Abstract

Perception that the administration of seven drugs correctly making burden workload, so that nurses do nursing care activities in a hurry. Treatment errors are not only caused by nurses but also because patient themselves do not follow existing procedures. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between nurses workload and the application of the seven principles of correctness in drug delivery to patients in the inpatient ward. This research is a correlational research with cross sectional design approach. The study was conducted on 26 March - 6 April 2018 in patient room B, C, D and E Wava Husada Kepanjen Hospital. The population of this study was the nurses, 46 nurses with proportional random sampling. Data collection were using questionnaires about nurses workload and observation sheets about the application of the seven principles of drug administration. Data analysis was used Spearman Rank test and data presentation in the form of frequency distribution and narrative tables. The result Spearman Rank test it was found that there was a significant relationship between the workload of nurses and the application of the principle 7 correct drug administration. The workload of nurses should be properly regulated so as not to interfere with the application of the seven principles correctly in the administration of drugs to patientsKeywords: Nurse Workload, Principle Seven True Drug Giving

Abstract

Falling is a serious problem and makes high costs for patients and all health facilities. One of the factors that influenced the compliance of the Nurses in the implementation of the SPO (Operational Procedure Standard) is the motivation and perception of the Nurse toward their profession. The aim of the research is to find out the relationship between Nurses motivation and compliance with the implementation of the prevention risk proedure. This study was used a cross-sectional design. The population used is all nursing staff in the inpatient ward of Kanjuruhan Hospital with purposivei sampling technique with a sample of 109. The study was conducted in February - March 2018. Data collection used questionnaires about the characteristics of respondents, nurses motivation and compliance with risk prevention procedure of fall down. Statistical analysis uses Ranki Spearman test. Presentation of data in the form of frequency tables distribution and narration. The results of the study were found that is significant relationship between motivation and compliance with the implementation of preventive SPO at risk of falling. The correlation (r) value is 0.424 which means that the relationship between the two variables are in the same direction, the higher the motivation, the compliance with the implementation of the preventive SPO become higher too. From the results of this study, a continuous socialization of SPO prevention is needed, and make motivated nurses to comply with the implementation of the SPO.Keywords: Risk of falling, Standard Operating Procedure, Compliance, Motivation

Abstract

Cerebral hypoxia is secondary injury which affects the mortality of clients with Trauma Brain Injury (TBI). One component of respiration that can be used to monitor the occurrence of cerebral hypoxia is oxygen saturation (SpO2). The purpose of this study was to analyze the accuracy of oxygen saturation as a predictor of mortality in head injury clients. This study is an analytic observational with retrospective cohort design. The population is all head injury medical records from January to December 2017 at the hospital. dr. Iskak Tulungagung. A total of 150 samples were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The dependent variable in this study was the mortality of the head injury client in seven days of treatment and the independent variable was the value of SpO2 in the ED triage data in the clients medical record. The results of the Mann-Whitney test analysis showed that the SpO2 variable had a significant relationship with the mortality of the head injury client (p value = 0.000). Logistic regression test shows that the SpO2 has sensitivity = 0.907 (90.7%), specificity = 0.881 (88.1%), Positive Predictive Value (PPV) = 0.951 (95.1%), and Negative Predictive Value (NPV) = 0.787 (78.7%) with predictive accuracy capability = 90%. Oxygen Saturation is an accurate predictor (90% accuracy) of the mortality of the head injury client. Keywords: Mortality, Client Head Injury, Accuracy, Oxygen Saturation.
