Abstract

Abstract. The Ability Of Children With Autism  In Comprehending  The Directive Speech Acts: Pragmatik Review Of Clinical. The aim of the study were to (1) describe the ability of autistic children to komprehend directive speech, and (2) describe the ability of autistic children to produce directive speech. This research was a case study with qualitative descriptive anlysis. Located at Bunda Autistic School at Makassar. The data resource were three children and supervisory teacher as a key informer. The research was conducted for two months from February to April 2014. The result of reseach indicated that (1) almost all forms of nonverbal responses performed, especially by children with autism, were characterized by moderate and severe (AAS and AAB)autistics. Verbal response can only be performed by autistics with mild characreristic, AAS. (2) the AAR autistic children had good ability to explain half of the existing category in performing direct speech, AAS had good enough ability and was able to explain some of existing category, but not more then AAR, the ability of AAB in explaining TTD was low and limited. From the existing category, the AAB was only able to produce of TTD in one case only.

Abstract

Abstract: Utilization of Mind Mapping technique as a Framework for Improving Writing Ability Essays in Persuasion Writing Class X SMAN 2 Pinrang. This study aimed to describe no significant difference persuasive essay writing using mind mapping techniques with no use of mind mapping technique as the outline of the class X SMAN 2 Pinrang. Design or research models used in this research is the study design is preeksperimental kind of design pretest and posttest group. Teknik used to collect the data of this study is the testing techniques. Data collected in the study were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques t test types. The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences persuasive essay writing using mind mapping techniques with no use of mind mapping technique as the outline of the class X SMAN 2 Pinrang. Comparison of the ability of pretest and posttest results showed that as many as 9.29 t count> t table value of 2.04. This shows that the hypothesis proposed is accepted, that there are significant differences apaka write persuasive essays using mind mapping technique as the outline of the class X SMAN 2 Pinrang.

Abstract

Abstract. “The rejection on Big narration in Negara kelima’ s novel by E.S. Ito (Jacques Derrida’s deconstruction analysis)”. The aim of this research is to describe the rejection of big naration text in Negara Kelima  novel by E.S. Ito by using Jacques Derrida’s deconstruction analysis. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The source of the data is the Negara Kelima novel by E.S. Ito which is published by Serambi Ilmu Semesta. Then, the data is gained from the text in Negara Kelima novel by E.S. Ito which is a rejection on Big Narration  according to Jacquess Derrida. The instrument of the research is self-research under the idea and knowledge about research by using Library research, the researcher understand, identify, analyze, then, describe based on the deconstruction theory from Jacques Derrida. The result of the research shows to us that E.S. Ito conducted a rejection on three big narration, the first one about science narration in terms of reading maps (Cartograf), in reading modern map, decosntruction allow the reader to do reverse reading in finding Ancient history. The second is about Religion narration (Islam), E.S Ito deconstruct the moeslem’s society paradigm about the existence of heaven, and the third is about history narration.

Abstract

Abstract: The Application of Badaczewski Rodrigues Model in teaching Appreciation of Drama for High School Students. This study aimed (1) to analyse  the ability of drama  appre-ciation to the students of XI Class in  SMAN 5 Makassar and (2) to test the effectiveness of the Badaczewski  Rodrigues Model in teaching  drama appreciation. This research was  designed as Quasi-experimental study. The amout of population is 270 students consist of nine classes. Sam-pling is done by cluster sampling, while  data collected through testing and observation. Results showed firstly that students' learning outcomes using the model Rodrigues-Badaczewski consi-dered adequate . There are 28 students ( 93,34%)  out of 30 students of Experimental class  got score more than 7,5.  In the Control class learning outcomes are not adequately considered. Only 17 students (56,67%) got score more than 7,5. Secondly, the applications of  model-Badaczewski Rodrigues proved  effectively  in teaching drama appreciation. Statistic  test showed  that t 18,324 with a significance value (p) 0,000. Finally, it can be concluded that there were significant differ-rences between experimental classes with control classes. Abstrak: Penerapan Model Rodrigues-Badaczewski dalam Pembelajaran Apresiasi Drama di SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji kemampuan mengapresiasi drama siswa Kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Makassar dan (2) menguji efektivitas model Rodrigues-Badaczewski dalam pem-belajaran apresiasi drama. Penelitian didesain dengan eksprimen semu. Populasi penelitian ber-jumlah 270 orang yang terdiri atas sembilan kelas. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster sampling. Pengumpulan data  melalui tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil pembelajaran apresiasi drama siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Makassar dengan model Rodrigues-Badaczewski dikategorikan memadai. Dari 30 siswa kelas eksperimen, terdapat 28 (93,34%) siswa memperoleh nilai lebih dari 7,5. Hasil pembelajaran kelas kontrol dikategorikan tidak memadai, hanya 17 (56,67%) siswa memperoleh nilai lebih dari 7,5. Kedua, model Rodrigues-Badaczewski efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran apresiasi drama.  Uji stastik menunjukkan nilai t 18,324 dengan signifikansi (p) 0,000. Dengan demikian disimpulkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksprimen dengan kelas kontrol. Kata kunci: sastra, rodrigues-badaczewski, drama

Abstract

Applying Open-Ended Approach in Improving Students’ Speaking Learning Outcomes. The objectives of this research are to find out  the speaking learning outcomes. This study is an experimental research. The experimental unit in this research is the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Ponrang Selatan in academic year 2015/2016. In Selecting of experimental class, the researcher applies random sampling technique. The instrument of this study is a test of learning outcomes of pretest and posttest. The result of this research are: (1) speaking learning outcomes before applying open-ended approach is medium category; otherwise, speaking learning outcomes after applying open-ended approach is high category, (2) there is an improvement of students’ speaking learning outcomes after applying open-ended approach.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe and explain the propriety of speech act in academic interactions. This study includes the type of qualitative research using ethnography of communication design theory, speech act theory, and the theory of linguistic politeness. The research data consists of data conversations and field notes. Data collected through recording techniques, observation, interviews, and transcriptions. Data analysis was carried out through four main procedures, namely: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions/verification. Based on data analysis, politeness of speech act are classified into four, namely: (1) civility in act assertively, (2) acts of civility in the directive, (3) civility in commissive act, and (4) civility in expressive acts.

Abstract

Abstract. Learning Community in Learning English Speaking Skills High School Class XII LPP Umi Makassar. One of the methods that can be applied in an effort to develop students' ability to speak is learning community (community learning and studying together). Learning community is a concept of creating shared learning in school, the learning process between teachers and teachers, teachers and students, students with students, and even among the school community with the community outside the school. This study aimed to describe the extent to which the effectiveness of the learning community in learning English speaking skills high school students of class XII LPP UMI Makassar measured using desaian research that is experimental type of pretest-posttest control group design experiments. Furthermore, data were collected using observation and oral tests were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that the learning community is effectively used in improving the skills of English speaking high school students of class XII LPP UMI Makassar. It is based on the results of data analysis showed that the average test speaking skills of students who take classes that implement the learning in the learning community is higher than the results of the test speaking skills of students who take the learning in the classroom learning community that does not apply.

Abstract

Abstract: The Use of Vocabulary in Political Discourse as Representation of Ideology. This study aimed to describe, to give interpretation and explanations about  the use of vocabulary in po-litical discourse as a form of ideological representation. This research is considered as  pheno-me-nological study and  designed  qualitatively. The data was collected through documentation tech-nique. The results showed that the use of vocabulary in political discourse as an ideological rep-resentation was found in the form of (a) ideological vocabulary, (b) the relation of meaning, (c) metaphor, (d) word category, (e) style, (f) informal vocabulary, and (g) pronouns. Abstrak: Penggunaan Kosakata dalam Wacana Politik sebagai Representasi Ideologi. Pene-litian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan, menginterpretasi dan meng-eksplanasi penggunaan kosakata dalam wacana politik sebagai wujud dari representasi ideologi. Penelitian ini tergolong penelitian fenomenologi yang didesain secara kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik doku-mentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kosakata dalam wacana politik sebagai representasi ideologi ditemukan dalam bentuk (a) kosakata ideologis, (b) relasi makna, (c) meta-fora, (d) kategori kata, (e) gaya bahasa, (f) kosakata informal, dan (g) pronomina. Abstract

Abstract: Effectiveness Strategy OK5R (Overview, Key Ideals, Read, Record, Recite, Review and Reflect) in Paragraph Writing Learning Exposition in Class IX SMPN 42 Bulukumba. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the strategy OK5R (Overview, Key Ideals, Read, Record, Recite, Review, and Reflect) in Paragraph Writing Learning Exposition in Class IX SMPN 42 Bulukumba. The population in this study consisted of two classes totaling 58 students. Through random sampling techniques and gained 48 students, ie 24 out of the class IXB as an experimental class and 24 students of the class IXa as the control class. The data collection is done by administering a pretest and posttest. Descriptive analysis showed that the average value of student learning outcomes with the experimental class OK5R Strategies (Overview, Key Ideals, Read, Record, Recite, Review, and Reflect) was 68.3 pretest and posttest 81, compared with the control class average value average student learning outcomes pretest posttest 68.3 and 75.4. Based on the results of inferential statistical hypothesis test obtained by using the value of σ (0.05), the H1 is accepted so that it can be concluded that the presence of OK5R Strategies (Overview, Key Ideals, Read, Record, Recite, Review, and Reflect) then learning will be effective.
