Abstract

Abstract: Teenlit as a part of popular literature is chosen for research with the aim of describing (1) picture of teen characters in Teenlit novels, (2) the forms of tenenage characters meaning in popular culture novels. Novels My Friends My Dream by Ken Terate published by Gramedia in 2005, Glam Girls by Nina Ardianti published by Gagas Media in 2008, are the objects of this study were analyzed by semiotic analysis method of Roland Barthes. This research showed that both of the novels also reveal show adolescents make sense of popular culture, through adolescence metropolitan lifestyle that characterized the consumption patterns of adolescents such as shopping at the mall, a teen trendsetters and have a career related to the popular world as social capital in their relationships. The pattern of consumption in adolescents experienced, indicate the change of lifestyle as a form of adaptation which is characterized by the appearance of a symbolic form of representing a popular teenager.

Abstract

Abstract: The Mechanism of Forming Verbs with Affixes in Makassar Language. This research is the library research by using descriptive approach. This research aimed to describe  mechanism of forming verbs in Makassar language. The technique of collecting the data were ; reading technique, taking notes and the technique of listening and speaking. The result of this research showed that there were four affixes that used to form .  verbs in Makassar language. Those are  : Prefix, Suffix, Konfix and Infix. (1) Prefix covers : aK-,  aN-, Pa-,  pi-,  si-,  taK-,  paka-,  appa-,  appi-,  appaka-,  sipaka-,  pasaN-,  appasi-,  nipasiN-,  nipa-, nipi-,  and  sipa-. (2) Suffix covers : suffix –i  and  suffix –ang. (3) Konfix covers : konfix aK-i, aN-i,  aK-ang,  aN-ang,  ni-i,  ni-ang,  pi-i,  paK-i,  si-i  and  piti-i. (4) Infix covers : -um-,  -im-,    -ar-,  -ul-  and –al-. Abstrak: Mekanisme Pembentukan Verba Berafiks dalam Bahasa Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pustaka dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan mekanisme pembentukan verba dalam bahasa Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan untuk menunjang penelitian ini adalah teknik baca, catat, dan teknik simak libat cakap. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan ada empat macam afiks atau imbuhan yang digunakan untuk menurunkan verba dalam bahasa Makassar, yaitu: prefiks, sufiks, konfiks, dan infiks. (1) Prefiks meliputi: aK-, aN-. Pa-, pi-, si-, taK, paka-, appa-, appi-, appaka-, sipaka-, pasaN-, appasi-, nipasiN-, nipa-, nipi-, dan sipa-. (2) Sufiks meliputi: sufiks-i dan sufiks –ang. (3) Konfiks meliputi: konfiks aK-i, aN-i, aK-ang, aN-ang, ni-i, ni-ang, pi-i, paK-i, si-i, dan piti-i. (4) Infiks meliputi: -um-, -im-, -ar-, -ul-, dan –al-. Abstract

Politeness in Speech Acts in Abangku Sayang" Story  Book Written by Marion. This study aims to describe the acts of speech and politeness in a book book of my beloved by Marion. The research used pragmatic approach with descriptive method. The data is sourced from my beloved childhood story book by Marion Rayhan Az Zahra published by PT Mizan Pustaka. Data analysis is done through reading, identification, categorization, descriptions, and inferences. The results revealed five types of speech acts used, including acts of representative speech, commissive speech acts, speech acts, expressive speech acts, and declarative speech acts and six types of maxim of politeness, including maxim of wisdom, maxim of generosity, maxim of praise, maxim of humility , maxim of agreement, and maxim of sympathy.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the status, roles, and gender inequality in the cultural structure of Toani Tolotang communities. Collecting  techniques of the data are through observation, indepth interviews and focus group discussions. The results showed: (1) the manifestation of the injustice caused by differences in the social strata (status quo) in society, namely: the impression of slavery, oppression and economic deprivation, restraint in decision-making, and differences in educational opportunities, (2) the manifestation of gender inequality caused by the beliefs of Toani Tolotang communities, namely: the feelings and individual decisions constrained by the status quo,  the limitation of movement and productivity for pregnant women, the over loyalty of wife to husband , the  unbalanced of sharing  roles and workloads between men and women, and lack of respect for the work of women.

Abstract

Abstract. Aspectuality meaning of affixation and reduplication in buginese verb. Aspectuality meaning can be exposed to Bugise language as a language that has the morphology. This research aims to disclose (1) the aspectuality meaning of affixation in Buginese verb, (2) the aspectuality meaning of reduplication in Buginese verb. The method of the research was descriptive qualitative. Data sources of the research are both written and spoken text. The data were collected with observation, (2) documentation, (3) and note taking. The research reveals that (1)  the aspectuality meaning derived from the behavior of affixation of Buginese verb, i.e.                       (a) semelfactive meaning which its existence is characterized by prefix ta-D and tappa-D,                 (b) frequentative-intensive meaning which its existence is characterized by prefix si-D, and            (c) habituative-intensive meaning which its existence is characterized by confiks pa-D-eng and      (2) aspectuality meaning is derived from the behavior of reduplication of Buginese verb, i.e. habituative-intensive meaning which its existence is characterized by category ka-D+R, pa-D-eng+R, dan pa-D+R.

Abstract

Abstract: The Learning Model Narrative Essay Writing with a Contextual Approach in High School. This research aimed to produce media  of learning writting a narrative essay with a contextual approach which are  valid, practical, and effective. The study was designed to develop a model approach to 4-D Thiagarajan. The Subjects were high school students in grade XI Gunung Sari, Makassar. The results showed: 1) the study is valid, 2) student book category "Valid", 3) Stu-dent Activity Sheet  is in valid category.The implementation of  aspects of the syntax component of the contextual approach had beed "fully implemented". Effective learning devices to meet the four indicators, namely: 1) test results showed 91.89% of students learning to score over 75, 2) the ability of good teachers manage the learning category, 3) the activity of students consisting of 9 in-dicators are met in full, and 4 ) as much as 91.89% of students responded positively to the imple-mentation of learning; 78.39% of students responded positively to the student book, and 83.78% of students gave a positive response to the students activity sheet. Abstrak: Model Perangkat Pembelajaran Menulis Karangan Narasi dengan Pendekatan Kontekstual di SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran menulis karangan narasi dengan pendekatan kontekstual yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian didesain dengan pendekatan penelitian pengembangan model 4-D Thiagarajan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Gunung Sari Makassar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) perangkat pembel-ajaran valid, (2) buku siswa berkategori “Valid”, dan (3) Lembar Kegiatan Siswa ber-kategori “Valid”. Keterlaksanaan aspek  komponen sintaks pendekatan kontekstual “terlaksana seluruh-nya”. Perangkat pembelajaran efektif dengan memenuhi 4 indikator, yaitu: (1) tes hasil belajar menunjukkan 91,89% siswa mendapatkan skor lebih dari 75, (2) kemampuan guru me-ngelolah pembelajaran kategori baik, (3) aktivitas siswa  yang terdiri atas 9 indikator terpenuhi seluruhnya, dan (4) sebanyak 91,89% siswa memberi respons positif terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran; 78,39% siswa memberi respons positif terhadap buku siswa; dan 83,78% siswa memberi respons positif terhadap LKS. Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, menulis narasi, pendekatan kontekstual

Abstract

Abstract: Software Development Learning Indonesian (Short Story) Model Cooperative Learning Teams Games Tornaments (TGT) in Class X SMAN 11 Makassar. This research aims to develop learning tools with cooperative learning model type Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) in class X SMA Negeri 11 Makassar and expected an increase learning achievement of learners. Design test product designs in development using quantitative research, namely quantitative descriptive. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. The trial results is known that the learning device TGT learning model is effective and practical, the test results showed that the average score obtained by the students on achievement test is 87.68 of the ideal score of 100 with a standard deviation of 4.91. Number 39 of 41 students or 92.6% meet the individual mastery. These data show that the classical completeness is reached. In general, the students responded positively to the learning device that digunakan.Tingkat teacher's ability to manage the process of cooperative learning teams tournamens games (TGT) are included in the category of very high, meaning that the teacher performance can be maintained.

Abstract

The Effectiveness of Self Assignment Technique to the Ability of Writing Short Story. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of self-prescribing techniques on the ability to write short stories. This research is a quantitative research that try to apply self-prescribing technique in writing short stories. Data collection techniques used in this research are documentation and writing skill. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical techniques in the form t-tes. The results of data analysis in this study indicate that the self-efficacy technique is effective on the ability to write short stories in the seventh grade students of SMP.

Abstract

Abstract. The Spirit of Bushido in “Musashi” novel by Eiji Yoshikawa. The present research deals with the Japanese cultural values that described in the novel "Musashi" written by Eiji Yoshikawa. The objective of the research was to identify the Japanese cultural values and give usefullnes in digging superior values that can be applied in everyday life. With a content analysis approach, the Japanese cultural values can be expressed in a comprehensive manner. The results of the research are identification of the Japanese cultural values and can be used as a reference for the development of Indonesian cultural values.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the cohesion and coherence markers that are used to build the integrity of the narrative discourse in Indonesian module composed by the Indonesian language teachers. The research is descriptive qualitative. Research data was sourced from Module Bahasa Indonesia: Jendela Pengetahuan composed by junior high school teachers. The techniques of collecting data were; reading techniques, technical notes, and the techniques of composing corpus. The results showed that: 1) markers of cohesion are used to build the integrity of the narrative discourse consists of: reference, substitution, ellipsis, conjunction, and lexical, 2) the use of coherence markers consist of linkage time, how, conflict, cause and effect, sequences , usability, condition, expressed more meaning.
