Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how to use Indonesian sentence patterns on German speaking skills in class XI students of SMA 2 Bantaeng. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population of this study were all students of class XI SMA 2 Bantaeng. The sample in the study amounted to 32 students. The data obtained were analyzed using percentage techniques. The results of the data analysis showed that the interference with the use of Indonesian sentence patterns on students' German speaking skills was 11.4%.

Abstract

This study is attempted to explain and analyze the semiotic process and the messages implied on Oppo Smartphone’s advertisment. The semiotic approach is used to identify and to analyze the data which focuses on Representament, Object and Interpretant by using Triadic Semiosis Concept of C.S. Pierce’s theory. The objective of this study is to analyze how semiosis proses occurs and to interpret the messages conveyed by the sign in Oppo Smartphone’s Advertisement. The study employed descriptive qualitative as the data were collected in the form of written words which produce the descriptive information. Based on the result finding, there are five advertisments of Oppo’s selected advertisments; Oppo F1,F5,N1 Mini, R1 and R5. Those advertisments have hidden messages which make the viewers or customers unable to catch the messages properly. From the result analysis, it can be affirmed that all aspects in the advertisments have the same messages to persuade the readers to buy the product even though the sign in each advertisement is different.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the ability to read German through the scientific approach of students class XI IPA SMAN 14 Gowa. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA 3 which amounted to 35 students. This classroom action research consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, execution, observation, and reflection. Data analysis in this research using percentage technique. The results of this study showed that there is an increase in learning achievement of German reading ability through scientific approach of students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Possessivpronomen mastery with the ability to write simple sentences for class XI students of SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. Data collection in this study was carried out with a written test. Data is analyzed by revealing product moment. The population of this study were all students of class XI IPA, with a total of 252 students. The sample of this study was 30 students of class XI Science 1 who were selected through purposive sampling technique. The results of the analysis through instant Product Moment, obtained the value of rh = (0.632)> rt = (0.361), the results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between Possessivpronomen mastery with the ability to write simple student sentences (r = 0.632).

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to know the relationship between vocabulary mastery with a descriptive essay writing skills of language Germany. Data was collected using writing skill test. Data were analyzed through the Product Moment correlation. The population of this research is the grade XI IPA which consisting of 1 class, numbered 20 people. The sample was selected using the technique of  Total Sampling namely whole grade XI IPA that add up to 20 students. The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between vocabulary mastery with a descriptive essay writing skills of language Germany grade XI IPA SMA Karya Sahari Bulukumba (rh = 0,609 > rt = 0,444).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using youtube media based on various approaches in improving the learning motivation of English learners. This research is a classroom action research. Data collection techniques used in this study consisted of observations and questionnaires. The subjects in this study were 35 people. This research was carried out in two cycles, each meeting held two meetings. In the initial test, the average learning motivation was 33.74, in the first cycle was 41.25 and in the second cycle was 48.28. Therefore, if we compare it from the initial test to the second cycle test. There is an increase of 14.54. This shows that the use of youtube media has an effect on increasing students' motivation to learn English.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research which aims to find out the planning, process, and results of beach ball learning methods in students' German speaking skills. The research data consists of two types, namely: qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data is obtained through observation, and quantitative data is obtained through the first cycle and second cycle speaking skills tests. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques. The results showed that speaking skills with the percentage of grades obtained by students in the first cycle reached 60.66%, and the second cycle reached 78.25%. These results indicate that the application of the beach ball learning method increases in students' German speaking skills

Abstract

The aim of the study was to find out students’ perception toward teachers’ teaching styles and the use of learning strategies in teaching English. This study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Tobelo in all grades. The instrument used in the data collection was a questionnaire that consists of six indicators where these indicators refer to variables. The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and display in pie diagram. The finding indicates that the majority of students at SMA Negeri 1 Tobelo are aware that their teachers’ teaching styles and the use of learning strategies gave positive impact in do their learning. Their perception of their teachers’ teaching styles and learning strategies which covers attitudes, behavior, interaction, method, teaching material and media during teaching and learning process influenced the success of students in developing English skills. Most students of their conviction stated that their English teachers were responsible for their career as a good teacher. Thus, in doing them job, their awareness to make an effective teaching to support students’ success in learning English. Further studies might be conducted using interview to students to gain more information.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain data and information about errors and percentage of students' errors in composing German sentences. The research design used in this study is descriptive method. To analyze the data used the percentage technical formula and in the data collection used a written test to determine students' errors in German language sentences, German question sentences and German command sentences. The results of this study indicate that, errors in composing German language news sentences 33.03%, errors in composing German question sentences 42.55% and errors in composing German command sentences 49.52%.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out whether or not the use of movie is effective in enhancing the vocabulary achievement and finding out the students’ interest toward the use of movie. The research employs a pre-experimental research method. The population of this research is all the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Panca Rijang in academic year 2017/2018. The samples consist of 20 students was taken based on random sampling technique. The research data are collected using vocabulary test which is analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The research result indicates that the use of movie is more effective in enhancing vocabulary achievement of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Rappang in academic year 2017/2018. The students’ result of posttest is higher than the students’ result of pretest (80 > 70. 625). The difference of those mean score is statistically significant; it is based on t-test value at significant level 0.05, the t- table is lower than t- test (2. 093 < 3. 54).
