<![CDATA[Human growth and development is very important because human will never develop without development and growth. The factors that influence human growth and development are not widely known, one of which is the fulfillment of balanced nutrition. Inadequate nutritional intake will have an impact on the growth and development of children under five years of age for long-term, which are permanent and difficult to repair. Likewise, maternal health will affect mother’s activities in taking care of family. Complementary feeding (MPASI) and food for mothers can be made from local ingredients so that children under five years of age get adequate nutritional intake according to their age. Moringa leaf is an ingredient that is rich in macro and micro nutrients. The high nutritional value in Moringa leaves can be used to meet the nutritional needs of breastfeeding mothers and children under five years of age in their infancy (Aminah et al, 2015). The objective of this community service was to improve the health status of mothers and children through utilization of Moringa leaves. This activity was carried out on September 14, 2020 at PosyanduMelati 2, Harjosari II Village, Medan Amplas Subdistrict. Having participated in this activity, the knowledge of mothers about the making of ingredients from Moringa leaves was increased and the knowledge of mothers about the benefits of Moringa leaves was also increased.]]>

<![CDATA[Referring to Ministerial Regulation of PAN-RB No. 16 of 2009 on Teacher Functional Status and Credit Score, it is clearly mentioned that one of the key components to apply teacher promotion is scientific writing (KTI). However, in fact, it was found that many teachers were independently constrained, especially in Sibolga City. As a result, the chance to get a higher rank and to be placed would be hampered. In addition, even some teachers are caught up in taking shortcuts by using the third part services to prepare their scientific writing, which of course, are not acceptable in publication ethics and academic values. In line with the results of preliminary observations made by the team, it was noticed that the teachers writing ability can be improved by providing them writing coaching class, including explanations and even training materials that need to be used in scientific writing. This writing coaching class is intended to provide teachers an opportunity to develop their skills, especially skill to write down scientific papers. Writing coaching class will be done by encouraging teachers to compose their ideas, formulating their problems, obtaining references sources, providing consultation rooms, implementing ethics and scientific publishing regulation, and selecting places where scientific papers will be published.]]>

<![CDATA[Cardiac arrest remains a prominent public health problem and cause of death globally. Despite there is no national data of Indonesia available currently, around 350,000 people in the United States and Canada experienced an arrest every year, and half of them were dead. The community knowledge and awareness about basic life support, particularly among mothers, is still low. Therefore, they cannot contribute effectively in providing first-aid to reduce the mortality. To improve this situation, we need an education and training program about basic life support for the PKK mothers and Posyandu cadres in West Medan to reduce the mortality rate of cardiac arrest in Indonesia. The activity was conducted in several stages, from basic data collection, lectures, basic life support practical training, evaluation and guidebooks handover. It was attended by 26 people, 15 women (57.7%) and 11 men (42.3%), with a mean age of 39 years old. No significant change was found in the level of knowledge and behavior before and after the activity (Z-score: 0,001; p= 1,000).]]>

<![CDATA[This activity was conducted in July and November 2020. Partners of this activity are a freshwater fish farmer community located on Jalan Gatot Subroto no. LK 336 IV, Sukamaju, Â Binjai Barat Distirct, Binjai, Sumatera Utara. The main problems faced by partners are 1) Farmers have difficulty in providing fish feed in the form of worms 2) The price of worms continues to increase, so it is difficult for breeders to provide good nutrition 3) Community do not yet know what it flies BSF (Black Soldier Fly) 4) The community does not yet know how to cultivate BSF 5) The community does not know that BSF Maggot is a high protein feed. The purpose of implementing this activity is 1) so that farmers get a replacement feed worm 2) Farmers can get fish feed with good nutrient and reasonably priced 3) BSF Maggot cultivation training, so farmers know 4) as a source of increasing income for freshwater fish farmers. The output target to be achieved from this activity program is that farmers can cultivate and use BSF as freshwater fish feed. Output details of the program produced include 1) training and assistance services for BSF Maggot cultivation 2) Video Activities 3) Scientific articles about mentoring cultivating devotion Maggot BSF. BSF extension and cultivation training activities have been carried out well, and have resulted in video activities on YouTube and also publications in online mass media. The conclusion of this activity partners know the advantages of BSF and can cultivate BSF properly.]]>

<![CDATA[Utilization of information technology is a very important requirement for every component of society. Easy, fast and accurate data and information access can optimize routine daily work. Mawaridussalam Islamic boarding school Batang Kuis as an Islamic education institution that plays a role in shaping the character and personality of the next generation of the nation is expected to be able to optimally manage finances and provide good service to the academics of the Islamic boarding school. Until now, financial management is still done manually using bookkeeping, there is no specific financial application used in Islamic boarding school financial management, so it is difficult and slow in recording, processing, controlling and reporting financial activities. Based on these problems, an application is needed that can be used by the treasurer and board of boarding school leaders for financial management systematically. The method applied is the User Centered Design approach and the target that was successfully achieved is the availability of web-based financial management applications that are used properly to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of financial management in Islamic boarding schools.]]>

<![CDATA[The outbreak of the corona virus has forced orphanage children to gather at home to carry out learning and playing activities. The activity of gathering in one house can cause a high risk of Covid-19 transmission. The implementation of the community service program carried out by lecturers from the Food Science and Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara is a training for making red ginger wedang at LKSA Anak Gembira, Medan Tuntungan, Medan. Red ginger wedang is a drink that is healthy and refreshing for the body, where the aim of this training is that partners can practice it and consume it to maintain their immune system at LKSA Anak Gembira in preventing Covid-19. The training activity for making red ginger drink was attended by 24 people consisting of 2 orphanage owners and 22 orphanage children. After that, the consumption of red ginger was carried out and questionnaires were administered to measure the level of understanding of the benefits and preferences of the respondents towards red ginger after the training was held. The results of the questionnaire show that 93% respondents understand the benefits of red ginger for health and 87% like red ginger wedang.]]>

<![CDATA[The archiving process uses a certain system in the preparation, maintenance of records so that they can be recovered quickly and precisely and easily for destruction of archives based on certain criteria. The archive itself has enormous benefits for educational organizations, because the archive is information on activities carried out by schools. Archives in schools need to be well managed, so that archives can be used effectively and efficiently and have good accessibility. The arrangement of archives usually has several problems including, documents cannot be recovered because they are lost, the number of documents is always increasing every day, the storage area for documents is too small compared to the number of documents, so the space is insufficient, not to mention the lack of staff capacity, and the system. The storage is not in accordance with the principles of archiving. For this reason, this service is aimed at providing knowledge and skills in arranging archives in accordance with RI archiving principles, namely using an alphanumeric archive storage system, through training followed by practice and evaluation. Adequate archive facilities and infrastructure are needed in schools for this training. After the dedication was carried out, teachers and administrative staff experienced an increase in knowledge and skills in compiling personal archives and schools got the facilities and infrastructure that supported archiving. Furthermore, an evaluation of the application of archiving in schools is carried out in order to determine its effectiveness in school management.]]>

<![CDATA[The online learning system is still having problems. As a result of the observations of the USU team, several obstacles were felt not only by the teachers at MIN 2 Serdang Bedagai but also by students and parents. The problems that occur are quite diverse. Starting from limited signal, limited devices suitable for online learning, to the lack of technological knowledge of teachers and students on online applications that support the teaching and learning process. There are various online applications available today, such as Google Classroom, Zoom, Google Meet, Youtube, and others. These various online applications play an important role in helping students and teachers in the distance learning process. The USU team conducted training using the online application Google Classroom and Zoom. Google Classroom and Zoom were chosen because they are easier for the teacher to implement, besides that the two online applications facilitate coordination and communication between teachers and students, so that the material being taught can be discussed more easily, more freely and can be updated more quickly. In this community service, Online Learning training was conducted for the Elementary School / Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Level with Various Online Applications at MIN 2 Serdang Bedagai. This community service has reached the implementation stage of training which begins with the initial survey stage, provision of training modules and also training. The next stage is monitoring and evaluation and feedback. ]]>

<![CDATA[The COVID-19 pandemic that has recently hit various countries including Indonesia has resulted in major changes in various fields, including in the development of the education sector. The teaching and learning process has turned from face-to-face into an online method. However, there are several obstacles experienced by schools that implement an online learning system, one of them was the ability of teachers who do not understand various learning application platforms. In addition, the material provided by the teacher is not maximally acceptable to students because most teachers provide learning material from the pages of textbooks or teacher writings (scans, photos, or presentation files). For this reason, it is necessary to have variations in the provision of teaching materials to students by making interesting and creative learning videos using the Movavi Education Set. With learning videos, students can do lessons at home, repeat it, and can ask the teacher some points from it if they don't understand. By using Movavi Education Set, teachers are also free to be creative in making learning videos that can be shared through commonly used communication applications such as e-mail, WhatsApp, line, google classroom and other applications.]]>

<![CDATA[This product is motivated by the growth of the productive age in Indonesia which encourages the development of a dynamic and innovative lifestyle. Work pressure experienced by people of productive age has made the life cycle of this age segment more varied on weekends or on holidays. This phenomenon then led to the activity of motorbike riding (solo riding) from the city where you live to explore tourism destinations in inland areas. so that it can become an information center that can make it easier for people to visit a destination and something that is needed by every city, region that manages tourism activities. The development of technology, especially information, has made the tourism business grow. There are various terms used as an information center, one of which is Eguidebook. Besides having a function as a center for information about tourism to tourists who come, it can also be used as a tourism promotion tool. In the area of ​​South West Java, there is still a lack of interest in tourists to visit this is due to a lack of information about routes, tourist attractions, accommodation, and other supporting facilities. The making of this project aims to create an electronic design document for solo riding activities to the South West Java Region which prioritizes the principles of sustainable tourism, the design is carried out by searching for information in the South West Java Region types of tourist information needs, visual compilation, prototyping, user evaluation and finalizing the design.
