Journal Educative is a scientific journal in the field of educational study published by the State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN) Bukittinggi, which is a transformation of the analysis journal published by STAIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. Journal of analysis has been published periodically since 2007 and is a journal in the study of education. In each of its publications, the Educative Journal presents various academic articles in educational studies that not only from textual traditions in education, but also are mixed from field studies. The themes are also varies; educational management, educational sociology, educational technology, curriculum and learning, educational psychology, educational anthropology and Islamic education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences of students’ speaking ability in the Flipped Classroom model by using 1) audiovisual media, 2) printed media, 3) online learning WhatsApp and Massive Open Online English Course (MOOEC) in terms of students’ personality of conscientiousness and emotional stability. An experimental research method was used in this study where the data taken from 56 students who enroll class eleventh at Senior High School of MAN 3 Padang. They were divided into four different treatment groups. Students’ speaking ability data were collected by using Oral English Competence Test, while the personality data was measured by using questionnaires with 5-point Likert scale. The data analysis used one ways Anacova. Research findings reported that simultaneously the Flipped Classroom Model by using four different media have significant influence on students' speaking ability in terms of their conscientiousness and emotional stability, but partially was not significant differences on students' speaking ability where the conscientiousness have significant effect on students' speaking ability, but not to emotional stability. Flipped Classroom Model by using online learning WhatsApp and MOOEC highly contribute to the improvement of students' speaking ability than printed media. English teachers can take advantages of the use online learning media WhatsApp and MOOEC in the teaching of English speaking.

Abstract

This research was conducted in a class action SMA 3 OKU concerning the ability of teachers to implement the use of teaching materials. The formulation of the problem in research is how the teacher's ability by applying the use of teaching materials in SMP 9 Ogan Ogan Ulu. The study of this class action planned to take place in the second cycle of the meeting to each cycle 3 times meeting. The results showed that the frequency of planning is 64.67, the frequency of execution is 66.67 and frequency of assessment was 80.42. The researchers suggestion is to conduct quality improvement in implementing the use of teaching materials ranging from planning and implementation to the assessment so that teachers have the professional ability to perform the duties of professionalism, especially in the design and planning of teaching materials that will be given to students.

Abstract

The problem of this study is the low student learning outcome and not yet applied learning model make a match in the subject of IPS. This research is a classroom action research.The technique of data collection is by observation and test. To analyze the data of student learning outcome used t test technique, t obtained is 2,776 while at t level 5 % =2,05, so t obtained >t table or mathematically 2,05 is than t table. That is, Ho rejected an ha accepted because t count>t table. Thus, the hypothesis put forward that therte is a siginificant increase in learning outcomes between after and before taught by using the model make a match acceptable the right. Abstract

The article aims at evaluating of grammar book designed by the author from some experts.  Experts’ appraisals were needed to judge whether Textual Enhancement model designed for teaching grammar at IAIN Bukittinggi was valid or not. In this model, the researcher designed grammar lesson of complex sentences under the model of textual enhancement. She made salient grammar features taught by giving boldfaces and colors in every appearance of complex sentences within the texts in order to draw students’ attention to notice it. The study is mixed methods of quantitative and qualitative. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect data of expert judgments on the model developed (grammar book). There are five experts involved in this research who evaluate the book with impressionistic method which includes language, content and organization. The finding reveals that textual enhancement grammar book is valid and reliable. It can be used after being revised in the aspect of language with some grammar and spelling errors, in the aspect of content to suit with native culture, and organization, to consider the attractive sense.  Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi buku Grammar yang dirancang oleh Penulis sendiri dari  beberapa orang pakar.  Penilaian pakar sangat dibutuhkan untuk melihat validitas dan reliabilitas buku model yang dikembangkan sebelum diterapkan dalam pengajaran Grammar di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris IAIN Bukuttinggi. Dalam model ini, penulis merancang pelajaran Grammar dengan topik Complex Sentences dengan penguatan teks di bawah tema-tema Islam dengan memberikan cetak tebal dan pewarnaan pada fitur Grammar yang diajarkan untuk menarik perhatian mahasiswa memikirkannya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian campuran kuantitatif dan kualitatif.  Angket dan wawancara digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data terkait penilaian pakar terhadap buku yang dirancang. Ada lima pakar yang terlibat yang menilai aspek bahasa, isi, organisasi buku. Temuan menunjukkan buku grammar yang dirancang memenuhi kriteria valid dan  reliable. Buku dapat digunakan setelah direvisi pada beberapa aspek kesalahan grammar dan ejaan, aspek isi untuk mencocokkan dengan budaya asli (arab) dan aspek oragnisasi buku untuk memperhatikan daya tarik buku.

Abstract

Sijunjung is one of regencies in West Sumatera which has great potential resources. However, these graces are not followed by the society’s thankfulness through performing Islamic values. Based on the fact, the researchers were interested to do a research related to Islamic education strategies in local culture perspective in Koto VII sub-district Sijunjung regency. The research was aimed at helping the society to be aware of making the best use of the potential things and thanks God through performing Islamic values and avoiding all God’s prohibitions. The research included some elements they were Tali Tigo Sapilin which consisted of niniak mamak, alim ulama and cadiak pandai, the youth, and adults. The research was in Focus Group Discussion. The research finding was that Minangkabau philosophy in west Sumatera was in line with Islamic education strategies in Kitabullah.

Abstract

ملخص البحث ترجمة القرآن الكريم ضرورة لحاجة الناس إليها، خاصة عندما كثر العدد الذى لا يفهم لغة القرآن الكريم، ولكن لابد من وجود الضوابط الواضحة فى عملية هذه الترجمة، لأن النصوص القرآنية ليست كالنصوص الأدبية الأخرى التى كتبها الناس. ترجمة القرآن الكريم فى إندونيسيا مرت بعدة مراحل، وفى النهاية كل أشكال ترجمة القرآن الكريم فى إندونيسيا لا بد أن تراقبها لجنة معينة فى وزارة الشؤون الدينية. المشكلة الموجودة الآن أن ترجمة القرآن التابعة لوزارة الشؤون الدينية تعتبر من نوع الترجمة الحرفية كما زعمها الأستاذ محمد طالب المؤلف لترجمة القرآن الكريم التفسيرية، والترجمة الحرفية لا تأتى بالنتائج المرغوبة لدى قرائها وهي لا تستوعب دلالات الألفاظ القرآنية المطلوبة. وبعد الترجمة الحرفية للقرآن الكريم يأتى النوع الثانى من الترجمة ألا وهي الترجمة التفسيرية للقرآن الكريم الذى ألفه الأستاذ محمد طالب، وهذا النوع من الترجمة ينتقد كثيرا ما تحصل إليه الترجمة الحرفية أو المعجمية التى قام بها اللجنة الخاصة التابعة لوزارة الشؤون الدينية فى إندونيسيا. والمصحف المترجم فى إندونسيا لم يستوجب جميع متطلبات المكتشافات العلمية الكثيرة، ويزداد الأمر صعوبة فى فهم ألفاظ الآيات العلمية حول المشاهد الكونية فى القرآن الكريم، إذ أن كثيرا من ألفاظ القرآن الكريم لا يوجد لها مقابل يوازيها فى اللغات الأجنبية إلا بالمصطلحات العلمية المعروفة فى المجالات العلمية وهذا هو الذى كان الكاتب بصدده البحث عنه واقترح بالنماذج ببعض الآيات العلمية فى القرآن الكريم.. الكلمات المفتاحية :ترجمة، المكتشفات العلمية Abstrak Terjemah lafadz Al Quran dibutuhkan dan amatlah penting, apalagi semakin banyak yang tidak paham bahasa Al-Quran. Perlu aturan ketat dalam menterjemahkam lafadz Al-Quran karena teks Al Quran berbeda dengan teks lainnya yang banyak digeluti oleh manusia. Terjemah Al Quran di Indonesia berkembang melalui beberapa periode sejak tahun 60 an. Semua produk terjemah Al-Quran dewasa ini harus dibawah koodonasi lajnah khusus di Kementrian Agama. Permasalahan yang muncul dikemudian hari adalah bahwasannya terjemah yang dilakukan oleh lajnah khusus ini banyak mendapatkan kritikan dari banyak ahli diantaranya ust. Muahammad Thalib dengan munculnya terjemah yang dikenal dengan Tarjamah Tafsiriah. Meskipun demikian bentuk terjemah tersebut belum juga mampu mengcover tuntutan terjemah ayat-ayat ilmiyah yang begitu banyak. Abstract

The each individual has different characteristics, which distinguish between individuals with one another. The each individual experiences a different process of self-development, even though at a glance or generally has certain similarities that are not small. Similarly, the development of intelligence overcomes problems or fighting forces (adversity quotient) in solving mathematical problems, especially geometry.  Adversity Quotient (AQ) is an intelligence of someone to cope with the problem.   It is the ability to face difficulties in life. This Adversity Quotient (AQ) is needed to acquire knowledge. This research aimed at exploring camper students in reconstructing prims slices. It belongs to a qualitative research. Subject of the research is a camper student chosen randomly. To collect the data, the researcher used students’ task sheet and interview. The results in this study indicate that the ability of the camper students in reconstructing prism slices is less accurate, especially in placing points P, Q and drawing not through point P and drawing    and    being made unbroken. In general or overall the ability of camper students in reconstructing prism slices is in accordance with the stages in drawing prism slices, even though there are certain parts that are not perfect. This can be overcome by increasing training in drawing and under the guidance of lecturers and friends who are more capable. The suggestion of researchers based on the results of this study is that this research can be used as a foothold when lecturers teach prism sliced material in class. Setiap individu memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda, yang membedakan antara individu yang satu dengan yang lainnya. Masing-masing individu mengalami proses perkembangan diri yang berbeda, meskipun secara sepintas atau secara umum memiliki kesamaan-kesamaan tertentu yang tidak sedikit. Demikian pula, perkembangan kecerdasan mengatasi masalah atau daya juang (adversity quotient) dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika khususnya geometri. Adversity Quotient (AQ) adalah kecerdasan mengatasi masalah (daya juang), yaitu kecerdasan seseorang dalam menghadapi kesulitan yang menghadangnya. Kecerdasan mengatasi masalah (daya juang) ini merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang dibutuhkan dalam pemerolehan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kemampuan mahasiswa camper dalam merekonstruksi irisan prisma. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah satu orang mahasiswa camper yang diambil secara acak. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan Lembar Tugas Mahasiswa (LTM) dan wawancara. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa camper dalam merekonstruksi irisan prisma kurang akurat khususnya dalam meletakkan titik P, Q dan menggambar  tidak melalui titik P serta menggambar  dan  dibuat tidak putus-putus. Secara umum atau secara keseluruhan kemampuan mahasiswa camper dalam merekonstruksi irisan prisma sudah sesuai dengan tahapan dalam mengambar irisan prisma, walaupun ada bagian-bagian tertentu yang belum sempurna. Hal ini bisa diatasi dengan memperbanyak latihan dalam menggambar dan dibawah bimbingan dari dosen dan teman-temannya yang lebih bisa. Saran peneliti berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini adalah penelitian ini dapat dijadikan pijakan ketika dosen mengajarkan materi irisan prisma di kelas

Abstract

Teaching or learning Reading in ESP context is not an easy task. It was proved, especially for the fourth semester students of Islamic banking in IAIN Bukittinggi that many problems found. The research was a descriptive qualitative. It was aimed to analyze problem in reading. The data was gotten through interview to the lecturer and questionnaire distributed to the student. The result of the research showed that reading problems in ESP context based on indicator were: The first, a few students had problems related to indicator Negative Expectations like problems in recalling information after reading. The second, some the students had problems with processing information. The third, a half students had problem about topic and genre, limited vocabulary knowledge, lack of familiarity with the subject matter, difficulty level of the text (readability), weak verbal reasoning. The last, most of the students got difficulty at lack of fluency point, use of language level, inadequate use of effective reading strategies. Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the correlation between students’ reading interest and reading comprehension. The method used in this study was quantitative and the technique used was a correlational study. The population of the research was taken from students of the eighth grade of SMP Ahmad Dahlan Kota Jambi. The numbers of the population were 47 students. The Total sampling which used all the population was applied as the technique in taking the sample of the research. The data were obtained by using two instruments which were reading interest questionnaires and reading comprehension tests. To measure the correlation Spearman’s Rho was used. The result of this study showed that there was a high correlation between students’ reading interest and their reading comprehension. It was proven by coefficient correlational between students’ reading interest and their reading comprehension was r (0.983), it means those variables were significantly correlated. The result of analyzing the significant value is 0.01, it means that 0.01<0.05, thus, the null hypothesis (Ho) rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan apakah ada hubungan antara minat baca siswa dan kemampuan membaca mereke. Metode yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui penelitian korelasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Ahmad Dahlan Kota Jambi. Jumlah populasi adalah 47 siswa. Pengambilan sampel penelitian diperoleh melalui total sampling. Dalam mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengukur minat baca siswa dan memberikan tes pada siswa untuk mengetahui level pemahaman membaca siswa. Untuk mengukur korelasi peneliti menggunakan teori Spearman’s Rho. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang tinggi antara minat baca dan pemahaman membaca. Terbukti dari hasil perhitungan korelasi ditemukan bahwa hubungan antara minat baca dan pemahaman membaca siswa adalah r (0.983), ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel tersebut memiliki korelasi yang signifikan. Hasil dari signifikansi adalah 0.01, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa 0.01<0.05. Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the need for textbook in writing learning to write papers and research reports that’s become as the development of instructional material, (2) design an appropriate textbook to students’ needs analysis, (3) develop the textbook of writing papers and research reports at the two-semester, Study Program of Language and Literature Indonesian, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Baturaja, and, (4) determine the potential effects of writing papers and research reports development of textbook on learning outcomes. This study is a research and development. Subjects in this study were students of Language and Literature Indonesian, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Baturaja amounted to 23 students. The results of the research indicated that the textbook writing papers and research reports as the result of this development have the potential effects to influence and improve student’s understanding of the materials on the course of writing in a universityPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan buku teks dalam pembelajaran menulis makalah dan laporan penelitian yang dijadikan bahan ajar pengembangan, (2) merancang buku teks yang sesuai dengan analisis kebutuhan mahasiswa, (3) mengembangkan buku teks menulis makalah dan laporan penelitian di semester 2 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Baturaja, (4) mengetahui pengaruh potensial pengembangan buku teks menulis makalah dan laporan penelitian terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Baturaja sebanyak 23 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku teks Menulis Makalah dan Laporan Penelitian hasil pengembangan ini mempunyai pengaruh potensial dalam meningkatkan kemampuan dan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi-materi menulis di perguruan tinggi.
