Abstract

The objective of the study was to know the effects of formative assessment intensity toward Calculus learning outcomes with controlling university students’ prior capacity. Research using experimental methods, and can be concluded from the finding, that with controlling university students’ prior capacity, the group was given formative assessment each subject matter got higher score on Calculus learning outcomes than the group was given conventional formative assessment. The result showed that there was formative assessment intensity has effect toward Calculus learning outcomes with controlling university students’ prior capacity. To improve the quality of Calculus learning outcomes, the lecturers were supposed to evaluate the university stuents’ the better using formative assessment intensity each subject matter.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the effects of learning model and performance assessment model on mathematics problem solving (subject of calculus). An experimental research was conducted at Biology education-UNINDRA.They were selected through multistage random sampling technique. Problem solving test has been employed to collect data which was analyzed by means of two way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Research findings concluded that (1) students who learn under the cooperative learning model show higher then classical learning model in mathematics problem solving (subject of calculus), (2) students receiving Lane Holistic’s performance assessment show higher then Polya’s performance assessment on mathematics problem solving (subject of calculus), (3) there are interaction between learning model, performance assessment model, and mathematics problem solving, (4) in the cooperative learning models group, students receiving Lane Holistic’s performance assessment show lower then Polya’s performance assessment on mathematics problem solving (subject of calculus), (5) in the classical learning models group, students receiving Lane Holistic’s performance assessment show higher then Polya’s performance assessment on mathematics problem solving (subject of calculus), (6) students who are taught mathematics with Lane Holistic’s performance assessment, students who learn under the cooperative learning model show lower then classical learning model in mathematics problem solving (subject of calculus),and (7) students who are taught mathematics with Polya’s performance assessment, students who learn under the cooperative learning model show higher then classical learning model in mathematics problem solving (subject of calculus).

Abstract

The research is an experiment conducted in SMA Negeri 8 Tangerang City, Banten, on the influence of learning and use of media interest in learning of mathematics learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of media use to learn and interest in learning mathematics learning outcomes. (Experiment In Student Class XI IPA SMAN 8 Tangerang City Year Lesson 2010/2011). The research method used is an experimental method using the technique "factor analysis" with "Two Way Anova", aided by SPSS version 15.0. The results of the analysis studies suggest that: 1) There is the media's influence on the learning outcomes of mathematics learning, 2) There is interest in studying the influence on the results of studying mathematics, and 3) There is no interaction between the learning outcomes of students with interest in learning mathematics students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the influences of parent’s guiding and students’ learning habit as the results of science study. This study used survey method with double regretion analysis. The total number of samples as many as 200 respondents from grade VII of SMPN at Cimanggis District Depok on academic year of 2010/2011. The data were analyzed wih descriptive statitistics, data analysis, and test hypotheses used with double regretion. With the hypothesis test, which gave the results: 1) parents guiding give positive effects and significance result to out put of learning science class. 2) learning habit gives positive effect and significance to out put of leaming science class. 3) Then using double regresion analysis, it was gotten conclusion that there are positive effect and significance from both of parents guiding and also students’ learning habit to result of learning from science class. Based on that, so much better of parents guiding and much better students’ learning habit that will be done both of them, so much better their result of science class.

Abstract

Value education serves to help students understand, appreciate, make the right decisions in a variety of personal problems, families, communities and countries that are expected to eliminate the arrogance that often occur. The value planting approaches (inculcation approach) is an approach that gives emphasis on the cultivation of social values in students. While the method used in this learning process are: Modeling, positive reinforcement, and negative, simulations, role games, etc. There are two views about the value. First, the value is the highest measure of human behavior and upheld by a group of people and used as guidance in attitude and behavior. Both values are dependent on fishing and feelings of people who are subject to certain phenomena. Value education methods that include: 1) method of advising (moralizing), 2) method of all to let 3) methods of model (modeling), 4) method of VCT (Value Clarification Technique). The concept of ideals in education according to Ki Hajar Dewantara main emphasis is ' ing ngarso sung tulodo' through ing ngarso sung tulodo educators showing they ideals in the form of behavior, speech, how to get along, deeds, scolds and so on.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical data and analyze the influence of mathematical-logical intelligence, and self study of learning outcomes in mathematics. The variables consisted of: independent variable mathematical-logical intelligence and self study, the dependent variable is the result of learning mathematics. This research was done in class X Vocational High School in South Jakarta district municipality Jagakarsa. The research method used is survey method with correlation analysis. The sample totaled 120 students. Based on the testing of hypotheses to conclusions: (1) There is a significant positive effect of mathematical-logical intelligence on the results of learning mathematics, where the value of the simple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. <0.05. (2) There are no significant positive influence on the result of self study to learn mathematics. Where the value of the simple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. > 0.05. (3) There is a significant positive effect of mathematical-logical intelligence and independence of learning on mathematics learning outcomes. Where the value of multiple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. <0.05. And multiple regression models are free from multicollinearity or no relationship between the independent variables.

Abstract

This paper discusses the provision of a summary as one component of the learning strategy that plays an important role in improving learning outcomes optimally. Summaries can be done at the beginning of learning, and can also be given at the end of the lesson. Giving a summary at the beginning of learning, work gives an overview on the learner about the content of the material will be presented, and help learners to determine attitudes toward the content of these materials will be presented. While granting summary of a presentation made at the end, serves to review the main ideas of the material that has been presented so that there is an opportunity for students to recall material that has been presented it. So the summary is a component of a strategy that includes all the content areas of study are important, such as understanding ¬-brief understanding of the concepts, procedures, or principles learned. There are five types of summaries are often used in learning, namely: verbal summary, summary charts, summary tabulations, summary groves, Summary schematic. While giving a summary of strategies that are often used, namely: learners is asked to make a summary of what has been taught, and learners is asked to make a summary of what has been read to show a better performance.
