Background: breast milk (ASI) is the best food for babies because it contains many nutrients. Data in Indonesia, only 1 in 2 infants under 6 months of age are exclusively breastfed and 38% of mothers stop breastfeeding due to lack of milk production. One method of increasing breast milk production is by lactation massage. The number of samples as many as 35 postpartum mothers with a sampling technique that is purposive sampling. The lactation massage was carried out for 7 days and the measurement of milk production was carried out on the 1st and 7th days. Results: Breast milk production before lactation massage was found to all have less milk production as many as 35 people (100%) and after lactation massage it was found that most of them had sufficient milk production as many as 25 people (71.4%). The results of the Wilcoxon test showed the effect of before and after lactation massage on the production of breast milk on postpartum mothers at BPM Meilisa Afty (p value = 0.000 ≤0.05). Conclusion: the results showed that there was an increase in breast milk production after lactation massage was given. Suggestions: it is hoped that health workers can use lactation massage as a non-pharmacological alternative in an effort to increase breast milk production and educate mothers in the prenatal and postpartum periods regarding breastfeeding.

Abstract

The second trimester of pregnancy is containing an embryo or fetus in the body at 14-28 weeks. At this time pregnant women will feel more calm, peaceful without significant disturbances. In the second trimester the fetus develops towards maturity. Third trimester pregnancy is a pregnancy with the age of 28-40 weeks which is a time to prepare for birth and position as a parent, such as focusing attention on the presence of the baby, so it is also known as the waiting period. Iron (Fe) tablets are mineral tablets needed by the body for the formation of red blood cells or hemoglobin. The element Fe is the most important element for the formation of red blood cells. Iron is naturally obtained from food. If pregnant women lack iron in the diet they consume daily, it can cause nutritional anemia (lack of blood). The purpose of this study was to describe the level of knowledge of pregnant women about consuming blood-added tablets in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy in PMB A. Kalisuren Village, Kab. Bogor for the period 5 November - 5 December 202. The design of this study is a descriptive type of research, from 40 pregnant women who consume blood-added tablets (Fe) based on sufficient knowledge 40%, mothers with less knowledge are 32.5%, while those with low knowledge good that is 27.5%.
