Eighty-three students participated in this study, selected through the respondent who returned the questionnaires. The corrected items' total correlation of SPSS 23 was applied to examine the validity and reliability of MRQ. The corrected items' total correlation of SPSS statistical analyses showed that all of the 53 modification items of MRQ were valid and reliable. It indicated that all 53 items of MRQ were appropriate for measuring the reading motivation of junior high school students in Jambi, Indonesia. It can provide a future studies screening tool for measuring the students' reading motivation.

Abstract

Physics and mathematics are the two most closely related natural rudimentary subjects. In physics, students often need to rely on rigorous mathematical reasoning and argumentation and use various mathematical methods for investigation, reasoning, calculus, test, and discussion, but students often appear in these difficulties. This research aims to explain the influence of mathematics achievement on physics achievement from the high school mathematics achievement and physics achievement. The results of math and physics in the first semester of 6 classes of senior high school student's grade 12 were selected, and the data were analyzed with SPSS.22 software, and three students of different learning abilities were interviewed in detail. The innovation of this paper lies in the use of hierarchical research methods to compare classes of mathematics achievement and physics achievement. The conclusions are (1) in objective level, there is a positive linear relationship between math achievement and physics achievement; (2) on the subjective level, students accept the view that the performance of mathematics can promote the performance of physics; students' subjective cognition will affect their cognitive structure and learning behavior, to actively seek for the relationship between mathematical knowledge and physical knowledge, and then slowly affect the objective level of students, and then in mathematics and physics performance, and (3) applying mathematical thinking to physics learning can improve the efficiency of learning physics. Use mathematical knowledge of trigonometry to solve the force analysis problem of physical movement. The finding shows that math scores play a significant role in physics scores. Remind us that in teaching, we should pay attention to the integration of mathematical ideas into physics learning and help students learn physics knowledge better with mathematical ideas.

Abstract

Due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Pandemic Era shifted face-to-face learning to online distance learning, which faced many challenges. One of the challenges is the decreasing level of student motivation and interactivity. LMS to organize learning materials, assignments, and other learning activities is an alternative that facilitates the learning process during the pandemic. Through LMS, lecturers can share materials, give assignments, and provide feedback to students through an integrated online system. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of using LMS Canvas at Sampoerna University, especially pedagogic quality during the pandemic. In this study, researchers used a questionnaire adapted from the LMS Evaluation model by Mtebe & Raisamo (2014) by adding pedagogical quality, including teaching quality, interactivity quality, and student understanding quality. The results of the study state that these three components have a positive effect on user satisfaction and the use of LMS.

The methodology used in this study is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sample on this research is 70 teachers of State Islamic Senior High School (MAN) at Solok, West Sumatera, Indonesia. Data were collected using a Likert scale model questionnaire via a google form. Prerequisite tests performed were normality test, linearity test, homogeneity test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test with SPSS application. The results of the prerequisite test state that all data are normally distributed, two independent variables have a linear relationship, the respondents from a homogeneous sample, there are no symptoms of multicollinearity, and two independent variables do not occur heteroscedasticity. Data were analyzed using simple regression, multiple regression, and partial correlation analysis. The results showed that the influence of transformational leadership of the madrasah principal on the quality was 0.846 (strong correlation), with an effect of 71.6%. In addition, the influence of teacher performance on the quality of madrasah was 0.740 (strong correlation), the effect is 54.8%. Furthermore, the influence of transformational leadership of madrasah principals and teacher performance on the quality of madrasah was 0.861 (strong correlation), while the effect is 73.3%, and other factors influenced the remaining 26.7%.
