Abstract

Increased cholesterol levels in the blood is one of the risks of central obesity which can be caused by genetic factors, diet, and physical activity. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in total cholesterol levels based on the incidence of central obesity and consumption patterns of vegetables in Guwang Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency. This type of research was observational with a crossectional design in 63 samples of men and women aged 21–60 years determined based on inclusion criteria and their proportional random sampling. The test data used was independent t-test. The results of the analysis showed (p0.05) there were differences in total cholesterol levels based on central obesity events, there were differences in total cholesterol levels based on vegetable consumption type (p0.05), there were differences in total cholesterol levels based on fruit consumption type (p0.05), there were no differences in total cholesterol levels based on the amount of vegetable and fruit consumption (p0.05), there were no differences in total cholesterol levels based on the frequency of vegetable consumption (p0.05), there were differences in total cholesterol levels based on frequency of consumption fruit (p0.05).Keywords: total cholesterol levels, central obesity, comsumption pattern of vegetables and fruit

Abstract

Vegetarians are a group that has a high risk of anemia and chronic energy deficiency (CED), This is because the consumption of iron and protein in the vegetarian group is considered less to meet the needs of iron and protein in the body. The purpose of the study was to determine the correlation of protein and iron consumption’s level with chronic energy deficiency and anemia in vegetarian women of childbearing age at Pasraman Sri Sri Radha Rasesvara Badung. This type of research is observational with Cross Sectional design and uses Purposive Sampling techniques, amounting to 33 people. Data were collected by interview method and measurement of upper arm circumference and hemoglobin level. Data is presented with frequency tables and cross tables then analyzed using Chi Square test. Based on the results of the analysis, there was a significant correlation between the level of protein consumption with CED in vegetarian WCA at Pasraman Sri Sri Radha Rasesvara Badung. There was no significant correlation between the level of protein consumption and anemia in vegetarian WCA at Pasraman Sri Sri Radha Rasesvara Badung. There was no significant correlation between the level of consumption of iron with CED at vegetarian WCA at Pasraman Sri Sri Radha Rasesvara Badung. There was a significant correlation between iron consumption levels and anemia in vegetarian WCA at Pasraman Sri Sri Radha Rasesvara Badung. Abstract

The stunting prevalence in Ubud Subdistrict is 28.6% where Ubud is a world tourist destination in Bali, but there are still stunting occurrences in the region. The study aimed to determine the differences in the incidence of stunting based on knowledge of maternal nutrition and nutrient intake in infants in the District of Ubud. The type and design of the study were observational with a cross sectional study design. The total population is 3766 toddlers with 50 samples. Stunting data was taken by measuring the height / length of the body, knowledge obtained by means of interviews using questionnaires and intake of toddlers obtained by doing 2x24 hour recall. A total of 36.0% experienced stunting while 64.0% did not stunting. The average knowledge of maternal nutrition is 60.12%. The average energy intake of toddlers is 1066.08 kcal, protein 26.36 gr and calcium 583.48 mg. The results of the analysis showed that there were differences in the incidence of stunting based on maternal nutrition knowledge (p = 0,000), there were differences in the incidence of stunting based on energy intake (p = 0,002), there were differences in the incidence of stunting based on protein intake (p = 0,015) and differences in intake of stunting calcium (p = 0.026).Key Words: stunting, knowledge, nutrient intake

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of the degenerative diseases whose sufferers continue to increase every year. One characteristic of Diabetes Mellitus is an increase in blood glucose beyond normal. Several factors can affect the increase in blood glucose, such as : age, genetic, physical activity and consumption of carbohydrate. The purpose of this research is to find the relation between level consumption of carbohydrates and physical activity with blood glucose levels the elderly at Beraban Village, Tabanan. The kind of research is observational by cross-sectional design.  The amounts of sample are 91 people. Data of carbohydrate consumption levels were collected by the 2 X 24-hour record method, data of physical activity were collected by through interviews using physical activity forms, data of blood glucose levels were collected by taking blood using the Easy Touch GCU tool. Data was processed by Spearman Rank Correlation statistical analysis. Result of this research indicates that 60,4% of sample having less carbohydrate consumption, 63,7% having very mild physical activity and 92,3% having normal blood glucose levels. There is no correlation between the level consumption of carbohydrate and blood glucose levels (p 0,05). There was no correlation between physical activity and blood glucose levels (p 0,05).Keywords: Consumption of Carbohydrates, Physical Activity, Blood Glucose.

Abstract

Nutritional status is a picture of the balance between nutritional intake and needs due to food consumption and use of nutrients. The reason children get poor nutrition is one of them has a low maternal hemoglobin level during pregnancy. This will interfere with fetal growth and cause prematurity and low birth weight. LBW in their lives will be more difficult to catch up with BB (body weight) or body length (PB), this condition will produce further nutritional status. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in nutritional status of children based on maternal anemia status during pregnancy in the Work Area I of South Denpasar Health Center. The research method used was observational research with cross sectional design. The population in this study were all children aged 0-23 months who had biological mothers in the Working Area I of South Denpasar Health Center totaling 532 people. The sample in this study was part of a population of 88 people. The results showed that the anemia status of the majority of mothers were not anemic, namely 70 people (79.5%) and the remaining 18 people (20.5%) suffered anemia while the nutritional status of children was obtained as a result of 79 good children (89.8%), more nutritional status as many as 6 people (6.8%) and malnutrition status as many as 3 people (3.4%). After analyzing the Independent T-Test statistical test at a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05) obtained p value = 0.056 so that there was no significant difference in nutritional status of children based on maternal anemia status during pregnancy in the South Denpasar Health Center I.Keywords: Status of Maternal Anemia, Child Nutritional Status

Abstract

Hypertension is increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg. Hypertension results in complications such as stroke, heart weakness, coronary heart disease, kidney disorders and others. The triggers for hypertension are distinguished from being non-controlled such as family history, gender, and age. Factors that can be controlled such as obesity, lack of physical activity, smoking behavior, consumption patterns of foods containing sodium and saturated fat. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between fiber intake and obesity status with blood pressure of hypertensive patients in Tabanan III Health Center. This type of research was observational with a cross-sectional research design. The sample in this study was 41 people. Data collection uses identity forms, 24-hour recall method, weight and height measurements, and blood pressure measurements. Data was processed by statistical analysis of Spearman Rank Correlation. The results showed that 36 samples (87.8%) did not consume fiber as recommended, 17 samples (41.5%) were classified as obesity grade 1 and 30 samples (73.2%) grade I hypertension. There was no correlation between fiber intake and blood pressure. p value = 0.49 (p 0.05). There is no correlation between obesity status and blood pressure, p = 0.51 (p 0.05). Keywords: blood pressure level, fiber intake, obesity status, and hypertension
