Abstract

The objective of this research is to improve the fourth graders’ social skills in the subject of natural science through applying type of TSOS at the elementary school of SD Kanigooro 03 Madiun. The mothod adopted is qualitative while the design is classroom action research. The research took place at SD 03 Kanigoro 04 for 4 months, i.e. February through Mei 2011. As many as 31 students involved as the subject of this research. Data were collected through observation. It was applied to observe their social skills (affective domain) during the teaching-learning process which covered the skills to share, to participate, and to communicate. An observation sheet was the instrument to collect data during the observation which, then, descriptively analyzed. Results in the first cycle showed their average scores came out of a single social skill. The average of every aspect, respectively,: the skill to share 63.74; that to participate 64.58; and that on communication 59.77. Results in the second cycle indicated a significant increase. They could share, participate and communicate better than before. Their average scores were: 84.67 for the skill to share; 87.09 for that to participate; and 84.67 for that for communication. A conclusion drawn is that the cooperative learning type of TSOS can improve the fourth graders’ social skills of SD Kanigoro 03 Madiun. Their average skill to share improved from 63.74 in the first cycle to 84.67 in the second cycle. That on the participation was from 64.58 to 87.09. Last of all, that on communication was from 59.77 to 84.67.

Abstract

This study aims to improve quality of learning process through using write short andimprove students' ability through to write short stories using poetry media and SAVIapproach. Subjects in this study is students of class VI SDN Tanjung 3. Research objectof learning to write short stories in Indonesian Language. Data collection techniquesused in this study consist of (a) observation, (b)interview, (c)study of document,(d)questionnaire, (e)tasks. Testing the validity of data is done by triangulation.Approaches of analysing data which used in this research are descriptive qualitative anddescriptive comparative. The conclusions of this research can be known that the media ofpoetry and SAVI approach can improve quality in learning process and ability to writeshort stories in Class VI SDN Tanjung 3. From the results of the pre-action learningprocess is still less than optimal and the average ability to write short stories 65.8. Thefirst cycle, which is when the learning process students are more enthusiastic andaverage ability to write is 75.5. In second cycle, the quality of learning process has moreincreased. The average student's ability to write short stories was increased until 82.8.Keywords: writing short stories, SAVI approach, poetry media

Abstract

Educational assessment standards were prepared in order to complete the assessment standards. This study aims to describe the ability of teachers in assessment of thematic learning. Based on the results of the research, which shows the performance evaluation based on the curriculum 2013, has not been fully implemented by Shanta 1 SD Negeri Malang and MI Nurul Islam sub district of Tajinan. The obtained data will be very useful for determining measures or policies relating to the assessment standards, which in turn is expected to improve the quality of the school. Keywords: Assessment, Thematic Learning

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan siswa kelas II semester II dalam memahami pembelajaran perkalian dan pembagian pada mata pelajaran matematika menggunakan metode kooperatif model team games tournament. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilakukan di Kelas II Semester II SDN 0I Taman  Kecamatan Taman Kota Madiun. Subjek Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II SDN 0I Taman Kecamatan Taman Kota Madiun dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang. Rencana tindakan yang akan dilakukan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah: Perencanaan , Implementasi Tindakan, Observasi dan Interpretasi, Analisis dan Refleksi. Adapun cara menganalisis data adalah dengan menganalisis data hasil obeservasi pembelajaran kemudian dilakukan penafsiran berdasarkan kajian pustaka dan pengalaman guru. Pada bagian refleksi dilakukan analisis data mengenai proses, masalah, dan hambatan yang dijumpai kemudian dilanjutkan dengan refleksi dampak pelaksanaan tindakan yang dilaksanakan. Dari hasil kegiatan pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan selama dua siklus, dan berdasarkan seluruh pembahasan serta analisis yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan kooperatif model TGT dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa yang ditandai dengan peningkatan ketuntasan belajar siswa dalam setiap siklus. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan meningkatnya rata-rata keberhasilan siswa pada tiap-tiap siklus yaitu siklus I rata-rata 6,6 menjadi 8,4 pada siklus II.

Abstract

This research is served to describe: (1) the students’ learning activitiesin problem solving techique; (2) students’ courage to pose ideas; (3) students’ ability to share ideas in problem solving technique; (4) students’ ability in having the critical thinking in solving the learning problems. This research covers two cycles, each of which includes planning, implementing, controling, and reflecting. The subject of the research are 32 fifth graders of SD Negeri Kasepuhan Sewon Bantul being taught by problem solving technique to develop their critical thinking and problem solving skill of the Social Science subject. The results show that: (1) the students’ activity develops from 5 active students in pre research stage to 10 in the first cycle; and it becomes 28 in the second cycle; (2) students’ courage to pose ideas develops from 4 courageous students in pre research stage to 15 in the first cycle; and 25 in the second cycle; (3) the ability to share ideas develops from 7 capable students in pre research to 12 in the first cycle, and 26 in the second cycle; (4) the thinking skill develops from 2 skilled students in problem solving in pre research stage to 17 in the first cycle, and 24 in the second cycle. The results of the research recommends that poblem solving technique is efficient in developing students’ activities, critical thinking skill and problem solving skill in the Social Science subject for the fifth graders of SD Negeri Kasepuhan Sewon Bantul. Key words:   Students’ Learning Activities, Critical Thinking Skill, Problem Solving

Learning paramasastra (grammar), especially paramasastra Java, in the SBC between two poles. On the one hand, learning grammar is important to determine how the students' understanding of the Java language, on the other hand grammar learning integrable in four aspects already existing skills in the curriculum. Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas III SDN Pekunden. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 18 siswa, terdiri dari 11 siswa laki-laki dan 7 siswa perempuan. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan deskripsi prosentase. Hasil penelilitan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa. Pada tes awal masih terdapat miskonsepsi dengan rata-rata 55,9 dan prosentase keberhasilan siswa 11% dengan kategori sangat rendah. Pada siklus I rata-rata meningkat menjadi 88,69 dan prosentase keberhasilan siswa 100% dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Pada siklus II rata-rata 86 dan prosentase keberhasilan 100% dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Siklus II dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada level selanjutnya. Pada siklus I siswa mampu mencapai tingkat visualisasi, dan terjadi peningkatan pada siklus II. Siswa mampu menguasai level visualisasi dan analisis. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah melalui pendekatan konstruktivisme berbasis teori van hiele dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran geometri materi bangun datar kelas III SDN Pekunden

Abstract

Teachers as professional educators are obliged to plan and excute learning process, to evaluate outcomes, to give advice, to train, to develop studies, to support school deveopment program and to develop professionalism. Among other criteria, professional teachers must master learning materials, develop educating learning process, have good personality and build commitment of students’ learning skill. To make them competent in conducting all of those tasks, teachers must have ability to search for information from variety of resources and from research which they conduct to support their educating instruction.

Abstract

Social science has been viewed as naturally theoretic, which requires students to memorize all learned materials. The learning experience will be stucked in freez learning atmosphere when the teacher traditionally preeches and dictates against the students, as the teacher-centered approaches have run. This model of teaching produces passive students with low acheivement. In effort of dveloping the vivid learning experience, variative models of teaching must be applied by the teacher. Through this research, the researcher proposes Mind Mapping Teaching Method, hopping that the the students learning activities and achievement can be developed. Mind mapping teaching method can tentatively encourage student to be active, innovative, creative and imaginative along the way with the learning process. The application of mind mapping teaching method can hopefully develop students learning activities and achievement through the given action research design.

Abstract

 This research aims to improve learning quality and ability for writing story in Muhammadiyah 11 Surakarta Elementary School by applying ASSURE model. The method uses classrom research, which was carried on for five months. The subject of this research fifth grade elementary school in Muhamadiyah 11 Surakarta, which consists of 31 students. The teacher and the student is the source of the data. The techniques used for collecting data are observation, interview, angket, and test. Data source and triangulation uses to ensure the validity. Analyzing data comparative descriptive analysis techniques is used. The result of the research proves learning process cycles I in story writing achieve 60% better than pra research, which achieve less 35%. In cycles II learning process increase get 80%. This research conclute that implementing the learning model of ASSURE is capable of increasing the quality of learning process and students ability for writing story in Muhamadiyah 11 Surakarta fifth grade elementary school.
