Abstract

a labor pain can affect maternal conditions for instance fatigue, fear, anxiety or worry and cause stress that may cause the interference on uterus contractions and influence the length of labor. One of nonpharmacologic methods that can be used to relievea labor pain is a breathing relaxation and massage techniques. The research aimed to analyze the influence of combination between breathing relaxations and massage techniques for mothers against pain intensity, duration of labor and APGAR scores for newborn at the Public Health Center of Masbagik East Lombok. This research used Quasi-Experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The sample applied 30 mothers who were in the first stage of labor that meet the inclusion criteria. The data were analyzed by Wilcoxon Sign-Rank Test, Mann-Whitney test and t two independent samples. The result indicated the comparison of pain intensity in the the pretest and posttest of control group was p = 0.051>0.05 which means there is no difference on pain intensity before and after treatment in the control group. Although the comparison of pain intensity on the group that received the combination techniques is obtained either pretest or posttest was p=0.001<0.05 which means there is a difference which signed by the reduction of pain intensity before and after the treatment by 2.93. Besides, there was a correlation between the implementation of the technique against duration of labor by cervical opening as indicator (p = 0.000). APGAR scores on newborn on the group that received the technique of relaxation and massage was 7-10 (normal). In short, the implementation of the technique can be used as an integral part of providing basic help for mothers to relieve labor pain and to accelerate delivery process.

Abstract

Hardness is the ability of water to form foam when it is mixed with soap. If calcareous water enters the body in excessive amounts in long periods of time can lead to kidney stones disease thus the hardness level in the water must be decreased and one of the methods is the implementation of Siwalan Borassus Flabellifer water, containing lactic acid and alcohol which is capable of dissolving minerals Calcium (Ca2+) in water. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of Siwalan Borassus Flabellifer water againts total hardness levels in well water. The analysis is conducted quantitatively and it was experimental study with    complexometric titration method to 5 well water samples taken in the Tuban area by grab sampling technique. From the analyzed samples obtained the average value of total hardness control (without the addition of Siwalan Borassus Flabellifer water) 2626.26 mg/L CaCO3, with the addition of 10 mL Siwalan Borassus Flabellifer water of 2346.54 mg/L CaCO3, the addition of 20 mL of Siwalan Borassus Flabellifer water of 2284.38 mg/L CaCO3, and the addition of 30 mL of Siwalan Borassus Flabellifer water of 2206.68 mg/L CaCO3. The analysis results with statistical test One Way Anova can be concluded that there was no significant effect on the total hardness level of well water with the addition of Siwalan Borassus Flabellifer water.

Abstract

WHO estimates the number of diabetes mellitus patients in indonesia will rise from 8.4 million in 2000 become 21.3 million by the year 2030 ( PDPERSI , 2011 ) with the biggest populations ( 90 % ) on the non independent diabetes mellitus ( NIDM ) type ( Askandar ,2009 ; Perkeni , 2006 ). Diabetes Mellitus disease need an adequate blood sugar management but an effort of blood sugar control in preventing the complications of  diabetes mellitus can be the beginning of the occurrence of acute and chronic complications which have an impact on the increasing of  morbidity and mortality, for instance a hypoglycemia ( shiciri , 2000; wang , 2012 ). According to Wang (2012) a hypoglycemia is a greatest obstacle in striving for adequate blood sugar control management on NIDM thus it is needed the strategy of acute complication prevention on patients with NIDM to prevent hypoglycemia.  Method: identify literature that relevant in the form of articles and research. Results: 3 from 5 articles was a randomized controlled trial (RCT). There were several trending strategy in hipoglycemia prevention for instance standard of procedure (SOP), counselling, self-monitoring of blood glucose programme ( SMBG), and U-health care. The used of combination several methods including involved the technology on internet based indicated a better results than used one of the method. Conclusion: the use of combination methods in proper hypoglycemia prevention, including telehealth possesses greater advantage in preventing hypoglycemia and its implementation in Indonesia has a great opportunity to be developed.

Abstract

Cardiac arrest normally occurs out of hospital in which can threaten a person’s life. In some countries, the prevalence of out of hospital cardiac arrests has increased. American Heart Association (AHA) in 2013 published the statistic of hearth and stroke disease, it said that out-of- hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) case in the United States reached 359,400 people. From those populations, 40.1% received a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed by people around the victim and it was found that victim’s survival by 9.5%. This indicates that the people surround the victim have crucial role in increasing the survival of cardiac arrest patient. A number of people who are able to give CPR assistance when meet the cardiac arrest patients unexpectedly are still relatively low and varies with the lowest percentage 1% to the highest of 44%. The experience of emergency encourages people to be aware on any assistance to be conducted before advanced medical helps. By knowing the various emergency cases, it is expected that the community can perform appropriate assistance againts the case.

Abstract

The pathogenesis cancer is affected by immune system and inflammation. In some neoplasm, the infiltration of mononuclear cells is an indicator of an excellent prognosis. An experimental trial proved that cytotoxic T cells (CTL) produce an effective antitumor immune response in vitro. The monocytes that enter the tissues (macrophages) produce TNF α which increases the ability of the invasion, angiogenesis and cancer cell motility. The purpose of this study was to investigate the ratio of lymphocyte monocyte as a predictor of osteosarcoma prognosis. The research was an analytical retrospective and data collection obtained from patients’ medical records that have been diagnosed as Osteosarcoma at Haji Adam Malik Hospital in Medan. From 2011 to 2016, we obtained 41 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The ratio of lymphocyte-monocyte (LMR) derived from pre-surgery blood test. LMR cut-off value was determined by ROC curve and the Overall Survival was taken from surgery until the patients died. The mean age of the subjects is 22.41 ±13.79 with 28 (68.3%) males, most of the tumours were located in the femur (52%) and as many as 36 patients died (87.8%). The LMR cut off obtained from the ROC curve was 2.34. There were 23 patients (56.1%) with LLMR. Bivariate analysis using chi-square test indicated no visible relationship between the pre operation LMR with the osteosarcoma prognosis (p = 0.083). Kaplan Meier curve showed in HLMR, one year and two year survival were 0.5 and 0.38, respectively, whereas in LLMR, one year and two years survival were 0.38 and 0.08, respectively. The conclusion: There is no relationship between pre operation LMR with the prognosis of patients with osteosarcoma (p = 0.083) but the Kaplan Meier curve showed the overall survival of HLMR are better than the LLMR.

Abstract

The lagoon is a form of semi-enclosed bay which is one type of an estuary. In lagoon water there is a meeting and mixing of freshwater and seawater thus it causes free relationship between the sea and the source of freshwater. The effect of tides that mixed with freshwater will cause a change of the aquatic character instantly. It will certainly affect the diversity of organism species, including bacteria. Some types of bacteria, one of them is   Bacillus, it is basically soil bacteria, but commonly found in fresh and brackish waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of morphology, colonies and biochemistry of bacteria that isolated from sediments of mosquito breeding lagoon in the coast of Medana village, Tanjung district, North Lombok regency. This research was descriptive observational, used non random purposive sampling with 15 samples.
