Abstract

Abstract: Guidance and Counseling Teaching profession is a profession with dignity and requiring scientific competence and qualifications. Many emerging negative perception, even from students of guidance and counseling to the profession of guidance and counseling. The problem in this research is formulated as follows: "What are the perceptions students of Guidance and Counselling, University of Muhammadiyah Metro the teaching profession Counseling?". The goal is to find out how students' perceptions of Guidance and Counselling, University of Muhammadiyah Metro the teaching profession Guidance and Counseling. The method used is quantitative descriptive. The population is students of guidance and counseling, the sample totaled 175 students. Instruments used in the form of Likert scale. The data analysis technique used percentages. The results showed that students' perceptions BK UM Metro is at a very high category to the teaching profession Guidance and Counseling. Suggestions put forward are: Based on these results, the researchers gave some suggestions are as follows: 1) for lecturers to add hours of practicum BK for students, and provide student guidance and counseling opportunities to interact more with teacher guidance and counseling directly in schools, and 2) the students are expected to apply to run a positive perception of the teaching profession Counseling well.Keywords: Perception, Student, Guidance and Counseling

Abstract

The purpose of this study are to know: (1) self-position of counselor which was adopted from the text of Semar, (2) The basic attitude which was adopting from the text of Semar, (3) The technic for communicating base attitude of counselor are using the metaphor in counseling. This research uses the Qualitative approach by Gadamerian hermeneutic method. Gadamerian hermeneutics is a kind of objective hermeneutic research (Objectivist hermeneutics). Gadamerian hermeneutics unifying thought is contained in a hermeneutic circle pattern. The circle consists of a pattern of up and down between the parts (part) and overall (whole) to understand the meaning of a text. The Data of research are including two texts such as what and who Semar is? (Mulyono, 1978) and Semar as spiritual world of Javanese (Sumukti, 2006), data of interview with Ki Manteb Sudarsono, Ki Purbo Asmoro, S.Kar., M.Hum and Dra. Sri Saptaningsih, MM and data watching the video of wayang. The result of research show that self-position of counselor which was adopted from the text of Semar are: (1) advicer, (2) motivator, (3) deterrent, (4) servant. The basic attitude which was adopting from the text of Semar are: (1) hospitable, (2) wise, (3) honest, (4) care. The technic for communicating basic attitude of counselor are using advice technique.Key Words: The position counselor, the basic attitude of counselor, Semar text.

Abstract

Saat ini, hasil tes kecerdasan (IQ) tidak hanya digunakan untuk melihat variasi kecerdasan secara invidual, tapi mulai digunakan untuk melihat variasi kecerdasan secara kelompok bahkan negara. Richard Lynn dan Tatu Vanhanen’s merupakan peneliti pertama yang menggunakan IQ nasional sebagai variabel penelitian, yang kemudian berkembang dan banyak di teliti. Peneliti tertarik mencoba melihat keterkaitan variasi IQ nasional, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), dan Indeks Persepsi Korupsi antara beberapa negara di Asia Tenggara. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada tujuh negara Asia Tenggara didapatkan korelasi yang singnifikan antara IQ nasional dengan GDP dan IQ nasional dengan Indeks Persepsi Korupsi.

Abstract

Reality group counseling is a short-term therapy that focuses on the present moment, emphasizes personal power, and on the dasamya is the way in which the members of the group can learn behaviors and more realistic. Group counseling activities of reality can also make its members better appreciate opinions of others, and bolder posited opinion are responsible for developing self esteem with eight stages as follows: (1) counselor demonstrated involvement with konseli (be friend), (2) focus on the behavior now, (3) explore the total behavior konseli, (4) konseli judge for yourself or do evaluation, (5) the responsible action plan, (6) make commitment, (7) receive no apology or excuse konseli, (8) follow-up. self esteem is individual assessment against him, describing the extent to which the individual assess her as a person who has the ability, keberartian, valuable, and competent.

Abstract

Motivation is one of the most important aspects of sports coaching program. Various facilities for athletes overcoming psychological problems should be held, including counseling program conducted by professional counselors. Athletes sports wrestling West Sumatra PON XIX get motivation increases with counseling by a counselor and motivator of the team during the preparation and training, so we get the result of increased achievement and medal counts for PON XIX. The results showed that counseling provides a constructive role to increase the motivation of athletes wrestling West Sumatra PON XIX.

Abstract

Abstract: National Exam (UN) is an instrument for evaluation of learning outcomes that are conducted every year, and the result is used as an indicator in determining the quality of education an educational unit. Various businesses or process improvements that have been made to prepare students to face the UN, but the results have not been quite encouraging. This is because the program is designed for this more focused on preparing students in the mastery of the subject matter while the mental preparation of the students in the exam has not received attention optimal. One of the counseling services that can be given to students to mentally prepare them for exams is group counseling services. In this article, mentally preparing students for exams through group counseling are discussed.Keyword: Readiness, students, group guidance.

Abstract

The practice of counseling by counselor not only need the skills to understand what is expressed by the client, but were further able to understand and have skills in giving meaning to the nonverbal communication, demonstrated by the behavior of a counseling session. During this time many of counselors who focus only on what is revealed by the client and using verbal techniques alone without seeing what goes on inside the client more deeply to understand the communication indicated by nonverbal behavior. The techniques used in the discussion of this article provides the inspiration that counseling is an art, not superficial, not skeptical and just focus on one technique alone, but many of the techniques that can be used to explore client issues. Furthermore, this paper supports the philosophical theory of Gestalt who believe that the client can feel the direct presence in the counseling sessions through the practices of the techniques used, to interpret the expression of various communications made, stationing themselves and find their own meaning.

Abstract

Abstract. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the strategy Problem Focused Coping and Emotion Focused Coping in improving stress management SMA Negeri 1 Barru. This research is a quantitative model of pre-experimental pre-test post-test group design .. one sample was 22 people, with purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that the highest percentage obtained after administration of PFCs by 42% which is the highest category, namely the interval 104-114 and strategies EFC scored the highest percentage obtained by 38% which is the highest category, namely the interval 118-125. Hypothesis test results are known to test value t = 0.004 and tt = 2.013 it is seen that the value to <tt value at a significance level of 5%. This means that an increase in stress management through the EFC. The conclusion that the strategy Problem Focused Coping and Emotion Focused Coping effective in improving stress management students at SMA Negeri 1 Barru.Keywords: problem-focused coping, emotion focused coping,stress management

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the locus of control, self-esteem and student academic procrastination (2) express the contribution of locus of control and self-esteem to student academic procrastination. This research is conducted by the expost-facto method with questionnaire instrument which has been measured its validity and reliability. The population in this study were BKI FTK IAIN IB Padang students entering 2014, 2013 and 2012 totaling 355 people, the samples used were Stratified Proportional Random Sampling technique so that the sample of 107 students was obtained. Sample amounted to 107 students. The result of the research shows that (1) locus of control is classified moderately, student self-esteem is on average high and student academic procrastination rate is high. (2) there is a significant contribution between locus of control and self-esteem on student academic procrastination jointly equal to 18.8%.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to describe the subject of study and reason as well as research-based counseling service management. Counseling services based on research carried out to improve the quality of learning through counseling. The discussion of this article are (1) the background of the counseling service based research, (2) understanding the tasks and activities of counseling teacher or counselor, (3) reason for the existence of counseling in education, (4) the differences and similarities counseling services with research PTK-BK, (5) the motivations and goals of research-based counseling services, and (6) management of research-based counseling services. Among the benefits of this article is to (1) raise awareness counseling teacher or counselor about the importance of developing a counseling service that is integrated with the research, (2) develop a research culture for counseling teacher/ counselor, (3) encourage educational institutions both school/ madrasah/ pesantren for developing research-based counseling services, (4) encourage universities that provide education academic and professional counseling to develop research activities and community service through mentoring research-based counseling services. Keywords: counseling services, research, quality of learning, PTK-BK.
